It looks like the oil and gas industry in Nigeria will witness serious turn around as American multinational corporation, ExxonMobil, is set to invest heavily into the sector.
This message was conveyed by Nolan 0’ Neal, the Chairman and Managing Director, ExxonMobil upstream and affiliates in Nigeria to President Muhammadu Buhari.
O’Neal informed the President that even though the company’s investment drive is laudable, the challenge for the government is to create a commercial environment that encourages the development of gas utilisation projects to benefit all stakeholders.
He further noted that under the aegis of World Bank Global Gas Flaring Reduction Partnership (GGFR), Exxon is working on efforts to identify and implement economically feasible alternatives to gas venting and flaring.
In Nigeria, Exxon is the operator of Erha field which is estimated to have gas reserves in the region of over 200 billion standard cubic feet.

HARLESTON, S.C. — Dylann Roof, 21, of Lexington, South Carolina, is the suspect in Wednesday’s deadly shooting at the Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, the Charleston police said Thursday. He may be driving a black Hyundai with vehicle tag LGF330, police said.

He’s white, slightly built and in his early 20s — and police say he walked into a Charleston, South Carolina, church and fatally shot nine people as they attended Bible study class.

Dylann Storm Roof, 21, is now at the center of a major manhunt, according to the The Post and Courier.

Police released a flier Thursday morning with details of the suspect in the attack on the historic African-American church as they appealed for help to track him down as quickly as possible.

According to reports, Roof is currently out on bond in connection with multiple recent arrests on drug and trespassing charges.

The uncle of the suspect told Reuters he recognized his nephew in the photo released by police. He also said Roof received a .45 caliber pistol as a birthday present in April, according to a report from Reuters.

Charleston Police Chief Gregory Mullen told a news conference that officers “have obtained surveillance videos of the suspect in this case and a suspect vehicle.”

Mullen said the suspect was a “younger white male between 21 and 25 years of age, 5-foot-9 in height” and “has a very distinctive sweatshirt that has markings.”

Mullen emphasized the suspect is “a very dangerous individual” and said “he should not be approached by anyone.”

Any people who recognize the suspect or spots the vehicle should alert law enforcement, he said, rather than trying to follow themselves.
