Poems For ReviewSannu Ku(greetings) by REDInks(op): 12:18am On Dec 07, 2019
Sannu to all who wants wisdom
step away from the dark into my kingdom
lines and verses but deep in history
times and seasons to see how we lost our victory.

Sannu to all the daily seekers of truth
come sit under my tree of ripe fruits
let me remind you how far we fell from our root
let me point to you the wicked and the crooks

Sannu to all who'll read my epistle in open minds
this is my journey far from home to the northern side
I left so I could understand my fatherland better
North or south, I'll still pick home; a pacesetter.

Art, Graphics & VideoRe: Logo Design 001 by REDInks(op): 10:44pm On Oct 02, 2019
4) ABSTRACT LOGO MARKS
An abstract mark is a specific type of pictorial logo. Instead of being a recognizable image—like an apple or a bird—it’s an abstract geometric form that represents your business.
It is that logo that is birthed from an abstract thought, the shape or pictorial mark does not always match the logo name...

5) MASCOTS

Ever seen brand identities like our very own O.B.O logo mark, skibii's own floated label, broad shaggi logo mark in his videos, they're all examples of a mascot logo.
Mascot logos are logos that involve an illustrated character. Often colorful, sometimes cartoonish, and most always fun, the mascot logo is a great way to create your very own brand face...

6) COMBINATION MARK

A combination mark is a logo comprised of a combined wordmark or lettermark and a pictorial mark, abstract mark, or mascot.
It makes use of graphic or geometric shapes and words.
It is a combination of either wordmark or lettermark...etc

7) THE EMBLEM

N.Y.S.C, E.F.C.C, UNIBEN, The Nigerian federal govt seal are all emblem logos.
An emblem logo consists of font inside a symbol or an icon; think badges, seals and crests. These logos tend to have a traditional appearance about them that can make a striking impact, thus they are often the go-to choice for many schools, organizations or government agencies.

Art, Graphics & VideoLogo Design 001 by REDInks(op): 10:43pm On Oct 02, 2019
A logo  is an image that symbolizes your business. But did you know there are 7 different types of logos?

So your logo is more like what gives your brand a face. Before people use your brand or access your service, they see your logo. So a logo design goes a long way to define your business.
Now majorly we have seven different types of logo designs...

1) MONOGRAM or LETTERMARKS

Monogram logos or lettermarks are logos that consist of letters, usually brand initials. IBM, CNN, HP, HBO… Noticing a pattern, yes? They’re the initialisms of a few famous businesses with rather lengthy names. With 2 or 3 words to remember, they’ve each turned to using their initials for brand-identification purposes.

Now some banks and huge brands make use of this style of logo design, it utilizes fonts and very few shapes in some cases. So when you're designing a brand that has a long name, you abbreviate the initials and do a lettermark (just kidding, your choice anyways...)

2) WORDMARKS

Since I said earlier that lettermarks are for logos with long names, where their initials are used as abbreviations and then in turn utilized to design a lettermark.
A wordmark is similar to a lettermark, a wordmark or logotype is a font-based logo that focuses on a business’ name alone. Think Visa and Coca-Cola. Wordmark logos work really well when a company has a succinct and distinct name. Google’s logo is a great example of this.
So a wordmark is mostly required when you have a really dope name, you gotta make the logo really dope...

3) PICTORIAL MARK
A pictorial mark (sometimes called brand mark or logo symbol) is an icon—or graphic-based logo. It’s probably the image that comes to mind when you think “logo”: the iconic Apple logo, the Twitter bird, the Target bullseye.
A pictorial mark is simply using a shape(graphic based symbol) to represent a brand, it has to be really unique and simple to drive home the point.

O gbodo ridin (don’t be stupid)
O gbodo suegbe (don’t be slow)
O gbodo ya mugun l’Eko (don’t allow yourself to be taken for a fool)

—Words on the plinth of the Agba Meta (Three Elders) statue at the entrance to Lagos

Don't be deceived by your eyes
these likes and love are paid for
these friends are only virtual
these lines might just be bitter

Don't be deceived by the looks
there are filters behind the look
the camera is a beautiful liar
you do not need a facelift

Don't be deceived by the clothes
your accounts may be bigger
these are just frontiers to be safe
these gold might just be painted stone

Don't be deceived by the smiles
behind is an hidden frown
these are just part of the facade
we are just trying to get to tomorrow.

Poems For ReviewDOWN IN THE South(say No To Xenophobia) by REDInks(op): 9:51pm On Sep 03, 2019
DOWN IN THE SOUTH

First it was rumour
A thin wisp of haphazard lies
Right here I lie under my bed

The voices in the streets are loud
They call for the martyrdom of brothers
I creep towards my window
I cast a glance at the streets
The people lined up like pews
Double column leaving the middle space
As the dock for jury and executioners

They first break the bones
Like they're breaking the will
Of over eighty five businesses owned by whites
Then they spill their bloods
Forgetting who the real vampires are
Who owns the big companies
And extract the big greens out
They say we are brothers

But betrayal is all I see
A simple cry for resources
We did not steal neither did we covert
They set lighter to the same brown skin we are all proud of
They kill the friends who fights their enemies

Down here in the south
I scroll through my phone
Wishing to teleport myself back home
I pray this pass away
All I see is tweets and replies

Down here in the south..

It may be difficult but bro move on.

My advice seriously this days for young people in relationship is don't give it your all until you're sure.

Build yourself bro, focus on you...mentally, financially and otherwise....
Then maybe the right one will come along the way..

Karleb:
Thanks.

What else can you say about deployment and the states chosen during registration? As in, is there any assurance that I will be deployed to any of the states I chose?
Surely you are most likely to be sent to the states you selected.
For example, you hail from Delta, schooled in Oyo. So the south and west are out of it. You're most likely going to the North or middlebelt or the east if God is on your side...

Let me give instances...
I come from Delta, schooled in Edo
My states can be; Kaduna, Nassarawa, Akwa-Ibom and Ogun/Anambra.

Bros you are most likely to end up in Kaduna or Nassarawa than any of the other two.

That's why I always advice PCM to select states that they would travel to without hitch or fear. If you select sokoto, Adamawa, Kebbi, telling yourself that it's just for selection, don't be surprised if you fall within the category of schooling in the south and being from the east or south, you'll go there...

Whether two days journey you go first spend 21 days there before you relocate or redeploy.
God bless...

OP!!!!! angry angry angry angry

@REDInks... I've got two questions:

1. What can you really say about going to camp early, as in before 20th.

2. Do they have ball house in camp? Now this one is funny and I know but I believe Man Utd are back to winning ways and I wouldn't want to miss a match for anything.
1) If you arrive early, you're more to avoid the rush and settle down properly before the crowd arrives. Better still on or before 20th.

2) There may be no room to watch matches, as activities baptise the entire day, so livescore na your friend.

PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMS

Some bodies will come during the boring lectures period, please try to grab as Mich as you can and some of them will offer training in HSE and PM, so do well to know which is authentic and is financially suited to your pocket. But the best demands the best.

You can also join other small groups in camp like SDG, U-Report and ENGINE, that is if you have in your camps. Even servicom is in every camp, you can be their observer and correspondent.

REDEPLOYMENT PROCESS

The redeployment forms normally come out during the second week, where you will asked to collect from the camp director office or maybe in the main halls but he is mostly the one in charge of relocation as he called it in my camp.
The forms should be filled accordingly and also, the relocation is based on two reasons ; Marriage for the females only and then health conditions for both sex. No third parties reasons are entertained. So if you're using a medical report make sure you don't not bring a fully fit medical certificate because you're only conflicting yourself. Because your file will be looked into during the period of relocation. You may be asked to face a panel of doctors to screen an authenticate your claim of health challenge, so make sure to cram the names of the drugs an know more about the disease or health challenge you're claiming. Also the medical report must be from a government hospital. No private hospital reports are entertained. Also make sure to have an handy doctor number, should in case they decide to call.

CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS

The challenges are charging of phones and this should be done in Mami market, make sure you give it to trusted individuals that can safe guard your phones. But for me, I no charge for Mami any day. My room had a socket and so we utilized it judiciously. Note my room was special, just eight of us in the room. I entered camp the first day an this helps.

Washing and monitoring your whites, do this with knowledge that if not properly tagged and positioned where you can see and monitor, them go move am.
I did all my laundry with the Mami people. It cost me sha but better safe than sorry.

KNOWLEDGE GAINED FROM SAED

Make sure to join a saed group and learn something new. SAED means Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development. So make sure you learn a skill, there are mostly few digital skill sets available as seen in my camp. But you can learn something else, something new. An make sure you understand that skill set to a particular level, it aids you later even when you leave camp.
For me I joined tailoring and fashion design because I had little experience coming from home and mainly because the ICT guys tat came were teaching excel and power point which I already knew. They were reserving web development for later, that one you must pay money.

So I broadened my knowledge properly on cutting and design of senator suits, trousers and pyjamas.
The classes are mostly theoretical for the first two days and then the whole thing gets serious.

For scholarship and training opportunities, try as much as possible to follow the boring lectures. Save the numbers and sites they will be sharing during the boring lectures, it will come a long way.
I don't know if I can share a message I received. Don't know how authentic but I will getting the eligibility forms today(this was 2/07/19)

Sorry for the break...the server was filled, could not post.

CLEARANCE

The clearance normally starts from the gate, make sure you don't have knives and sharp objects. And if you have drugs, you may choose to wrap them with your bedsheets to avoid getting them seized. For a camp like KD, where all their drugs don't seem to be so effective, your own drugs will save you a lot of stress.
The drugs you should carry should be mainly, pain relieve drugs (PCM, ibrufen etc), stomach ache drugs (Flagyl and TCN), for a camp like KD, their food disturbed a lot of southerners, then carry cough and catarrh drugs if you know your state of deployment is cold. This is for those coming to the north especially; kano, Kaduna, katsina, sokoto. The rain falls but if the sun shines na better sun.

[img][/img]

Make sure to carry at least extra photocopies of the documents you were asked to photocopy, and also carry at least 12 passports.

The clearance continues from the main halls, you will be given a form to proceed to collect your mattress and allocated to your room after which you can go on for medical clearance and others then the biometrics capturing.
After which you open a bank account depending on the camp and the banks that are there. Then you proceed to your platoon stand to get cleared and given your NYSC kits and you're good to go.

Remember that same day there will be parade by 4pm, so if I were you, I would not change into my whites instead stroll to Mami market, hide your ID tag and eat something, interact and know about the state. Slimfit your khaki because it must be bigger than you.
If you dey hurry to go parade then you're free to put on your white and act as the otondo that you are.

This is an addition for the politicians that want to hold posts in their platoons, make sure to socialize well before you guys are officially sworn in as corp members. Try to know the corp members with influence in your platoon, don't ask me how, you will know them when you see them. This will help you to get a post and please be eloquent, speak less but speak matured and enlightened.

There are hostel governors and governess for those who lost out in platoon elections, don't give up.

Remember this posts and positions bring you closer to the management of the camp and your PPA dey make sense as you dey know the authority more.

Capt.Ikechukwu Ohakwe was our camp commandant in Black gold camp. He was there until they said they gave him a promotion or an assignment. He had to leave for abuja.
That was the best we heard from him until two days back.

He was one of the best soldiers I have met, very friendly, a good listener and he helped a lot of people with their PPA.

Its painful he died in a road accident, carrying out an assignment for Nigeria Army.
It still pains me and a lot of us...

R.I.P Captain...
Only if we could reverse the hands of time, we would have preferred you remain our camp commandant for the entire period, maybe this would have been averted.

Today's match of Nigeria and France saw France get a missed penalty retaken when their players also violated rules based on the new FIFA laws governing penalty taking.

The VAR was blind to the fault of the French ladies but was very opinionated to fault the goalkeeper...

SportsUnfair Treatment Of African Teams In World Cup Finals by REDInks(op): 11:41pm On Jun 17, 2019
Over and over again, we have seen scenarios where African teams are racially abused not only by the opposite team players but also by the referee through his decisions and calls in world cup finals. If we relive the experience in the u-20 world cup. We will see so many decisions go against African teams.

Am not trying to dispel the brute force of the African football or the lascivious way our boys played but we are still being cheated.

For reasons I can't understand, if we're black or we are Africans or is Football now a game to be won by the other coloured people.

Poems For ReviewRume(..a Story From The South) by REDInks(op): 3:12am On May 31, 2019
From the wisdom of Broken Hearts Heal...

RUME...

Mr.Okpako sweat dripping from his face
he beholds the matchet, his reflection looks older than his age
he thinks of Rume who's in school
looks down at the sole of his open shoe
grass cutting for the last fifteen years
and still can't cut the weed of poverty
he had labored for the future he can't afford
hoping his son would bring the light to this darkness he can't fathom.

Rume in school, is a new student fully
his clothes and shoes betray his background truly
he changes the girls like he's changing his pants
in two years he has seen more pants than he can't count
the ideas daddy has of him are false
one word that can't be found in his dictionary is trust
this is the life he choose, daddy has paid his dues
and he deserves some accolades.

Rume failed again, the result came in 3D's
not bothered, he just needs to make more cheese
feed them to the hungry lecturers and pass
he can't ask friends who are out of his class
so he takes the next available option of pressing
the taking was slow, so he needed new settings.

Rume came from a Christian home, but he went ahead to locate the location
that would grant him the means to this end
but nothing goes for nothing, what does he offer to ascend
he offers what is dear to him the most
asking them to make his fears disappear
this life he choose, Dad has paid the dues
and he deserves some accolades.

Mr.Okpako saw the convoy
bringing Rume home, he could not
talk or repent from his sense
he was on his way to an unending visit
the earth has taken away Mr.Okpako's dirt.

CAN'T BE RICH...

I am just a young man
entitled to live poor in this shithole
every 4 years bring a false hope
lies and deceit are our stronghold
when I try to make an honest living
wear good clothes that gives a fitting
forces stop me and question my integrity.

I can't be rich in my country
they think all I can earn is nothing
because they believe all youths are suffering
I look good and I become a 4-1-9
I try to resist and they detain me for-one-night
questions they ask made me stammer

My father calls to me and then advice
when you are travelling to school
pls don't wear that new shoe
stow away your gucci jacket
and always look good
this your new haircut made you look rough
SARS will manhandle you if you look tough
make sure to hide your phone
and always speak in a light tone.

I can't be rich in my country
and yet the days are counting
they called us lazy Nigerian youths
let him view our legit hustle and see the truth
barely twenty-two with a certified education
even when the system is now a financial institution.

BROTHERS

They are brothers because of the course
Sitting side by side; separate sands in different shores
Smiling yet making theories vividly unsure
Let's finish here, so we go back to our cores

They are without identity forget the tribes
Hypocrites in a heated battle with scribes
Moving from each other like the hands of time
Dancing on the floor of unity laced with landmines

They are only brothers because of the polls
The handshakes and his smile are part of the show
The speech are part payment for the soul
The masses are the shots to score the goals.

From the stables of Broken Hearts Heal...

She has no identity as a man
No knowledge of her past
She is empty like a noisy drum
Her only solitude is in her daily rum
Her present bear no mark of the past
She is a terrorist in the north
She is an agitator in the east
She is an educated snitch in the west
She is a militant in the south
Her footprints bear no blue prints
She is at crossroad with four junctions
She searches for a man
To mend her broken piece
She is scattered as charfs
She bends at will to the touch of the wind
She searches for a king
One to unite her past and present
To reconcile her to one unique piece.

Two Names

We are the same as your wives
With thighs opened like bread
We accept the butter spread by knives
We mask our pains behind the pleasure lend

We are the same as your sisters
The ones you refuse to call your own
But the main attraction for your show
We are the useful trash you call litters

We are the same as your daughters
We whisper pleasure to your boredom
We are the pathway to your unholy altars
The only card drawn without need for luck

We are the hands that caressed broken joints
The fake moans that pleased flaccid rods
The real actors who perform bedly stunts
We are two names for one beautiful pod.
