The obvious reason why nigerian cities like lagos are poor is that the resources generated to keep the cities going are stolen by people that generates them, and just stolen but taken away to oyinbo land and leaving the cities bare, unattractive and unresourceful. New york runs itself with the money it generates. The city itself is a collateral for investments and it will remain viable as long as it kept going smoothly. |
Are they planning to implant another babaoloja there or what? What do they want from the traders? Are they not paying their taxes? If it a case of them selling contrabands and counterfeit goods, there should be a regulatory body to sort that out. |
Gorrbachev:What is your beef? Just because you are not able to compete in what you regard as "your land" does not mean people are stepping on your toes. All you need to is strive harder to protect what you consider to be your by taking charge of it.As long as it is there for other to grab legally and competitively, you don't have a say. The smart yorubas have established themselves with the federal capital at their doorsteps and i am very sure they are not complaining. It is just the peasants and the dubious like fani kayode that are in the bandwagon of separatism. Lagos is attractive because of its population that is made possible by its virtue as the former federal capital of nigeria. And despite the fact that the capital has been moved to abuja,it never make up for lagos because it doesn't have the wherewithal for a capital city, therefore lagos will always remain the attraction until nigeria finally kpafuka. |
Your claim stinks! We are talking about roads inside the City of Aba, you are bringing roads in interiors of Lagos state.
What do call that place? A landdfield? Ode,no place deserve to look like, not even where pigs are kept. |
^^^Na im be say you wan set trap for Channels TV crew! Ochendo wouldn't authorise them to film anything; and if they try doing it on the sly, they had better pray his thugs don't find out or else they may as well start saying their last prayers!
It not just aba, they should film closer home in lagos like the utube video of ikorodu environs I posted today. That is awful for a state that is claiming to be sanitizing like lagos. Aba is a mess so is lagos,Kano, sokoto, ibadan, onitsha and even abuja I watch a program on channel 4 few days ago about polio epedemic in northern Nigeria, the whole place looks like landfield. Scene like that makes one hate to be black, not just a nigerian. |
It is just a nightmare in that country, nothing works.Monies budgeted for roads are siphoned by those incharge into their personal accounts without anybody raising an eye lid.Nobody has ever bothered to sue the government for bad roads, even with all the unemployed lawyers roaming about that could make names for themselves by being unconventional and adventurous. |
Abagworo: Going by what I normally see from my flight while landing on MM2, there are worse roads in Ikeja around the airport area. It will be right to expose bad leadership but without tribal bias or claiming yours is better. Is this modern day lagos or yesteryears? |
ladenz: nobody is talking about whose phone was stolen. where is he supposed to get the money to buy another BB?That should be the duty of the police to recover it. |
solomon111: all hail china. It seems all over for the west economically, they don't call the shots anymore. By the way,the judge seem learned.A typical nigerian judge would have given him 10 years with hard labour |
Is blackberry that cheap in nigeria?Wow!the chinese are distorting western market badly,no wonder they don't have any say anymore. |
Channel TV should be exposing all these atrocities in nigeria like it did with police college. The nightmare hits home better when it is shown on regular TV channel that average nigerians tune into. |
bonna4u: You are right about bad roads not being an exclusive characteristic of any particular state in Nigeria. But truth be told, the existence of bad roads in Abia is at the extreme.I acknowledge that very well.I would be surprise if orji or whatever he is called was into 419 before he joined politics.Nigerian politicians have no conscience and no sense of pride, they are only there to stu0pidly enrich themselves and their cohorts. |
A typical nigerian road that is not anywhere near aba.Modern day mega lagos that is filling up the ocean for development when there so many dry places undeveloped.Endless chaotic roads and streets. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-cxWao3PaGE |
Zenimart: Although every state in naija have such places but the ineptitude and mediocrity of this present govt is legendary. Such heartlessness of the gov never ceases to amaze me. The only thing he knows is to disturb us everyday on the radio and endless levies. Aba is a city any serious govt will exploit its endless potential but not this T. A. Orji. Although am not an abian, but i stay in umuahia and i constantly hope abia state gets it right come 2015 for the sake of aba. Most of the present igbo politicians are ex 419 kingpins that sees the glorious and risk free in looting as politicians. They don't represent the people just like their counterparts in other states. |
http://www.naija247news.com/national-news/metro-news/12811--road-users-want-lagos-ogun-govts-collaborate-to-repair-roads-at-border-.html Has this road been fixed in lagos? This is nigerian thing,it not just aba.You guys are not fit to be driving since you don't know what roads are main for. Almost all roads in nigeria a hazardous and that is why people die needlessly on the roads everyday and the same reason people blame their vehicle problems on demon and witches. |
![]() All you need to do to make your street better is pave it with concrete and cement and most of all avoid indiscriminate liter dropping.Street cleaning and maintenance alone will create thousands of jobs. Oyinbos work very hard to maintain to their strides,in as much as they use blacks along side but they keep it rolling.Clean streets don't come on a platter,it takes the efforts of all, government and the people to keep them clean. |
i dont think so, all things being equal. education is no barrier to farming, quite a lot of farmers are educated although admittedly many farmers are not. as per food importation, thats a fact of life, no country can do without it, sorry.
Farming has gone scientific and science is education. The kind of education africans have took away their common sense and gave them the ability to read and write in foreign languages. It failed to teach them the basics of how to fend for themselves by being intuitive, instinctive, rational, mathematical and creative. That is why a mathematician like adeboye abandoned his true calling for illusions that could easily make him rich, lazy and unproductive at the expense of the people he is deceiving. |
mikeansy: I think the youths are getting even more stupidThe only people that deserves mob lyNching in nigeria are the the thieving politicians, not a single rational nigerian will shed tears if they are lynched like the ALUU 4. |
But what has her personal life got to do with nigeria?Must everybody be sympathetic with her because she lost her mum? Honestly that lady is very timid and it really shows backward nigeria has gone for an unpolished family like to be the first family. |
Katsumoto: Then you do not understand how the law works. If someone interprets a violation of the constitution, the recourse is to go to court to seek a redress or have the court interpret the constitution. Fashola's position is that since prior actions, ipso facto, weren't challenged, there is no illegality. If anyone disagrees, let them go to court. So does it mean that if a person breaks the law and gets away with it others should see it as a privilege to break the law too? From all indication you seem to be admitting that nigeria is rogue state where it is normal for leaders like fashola to be lawless and above the rogue constititution. |
cKaiser: Akpabio is also a Lawyer by training How come when he deported people we didnt see your outrage on how he didnt respect the Law of the landIs akpabio not the same man that sacked his unfortunate driver for mistakenly letting out fart in his presence?Does an animal like that appears to be educated to you in anyway?Same akpabio that had 250.000 dollars cash in his guest house that was supposedly stolen by his cook?Does that appear to be a civil human being to you that you should be comparing with suppose progressive fashola?I don'tknowmuch about kalu but from little i have heard he is just another nigerian politician,a rogue. Why do you guys always have to make do with the worst? |
Katsumoto: Dude give it a rest.Don't tell me fashola is a joke too like the rest of them.If SAN can not respect the law of the land, then who else will? It is one thing that we remain primitive with customary laws to guide us and another that we remain democratic with revolutionary and evolutionary laws to guide us.We can be primitive and modern at the same time |
I wholeheartedly see everything wrong with nigeria, and one would have expected fashola, the supposedly enlightened citizen to live out the pace setter image he is trying to portray by being respectful to the fundamental laws of the the land. The only thing that binds north, east, west and south together is the constitution and if it is useless then the whole concept of a country is useless. |
cKaiser: What makes Lagos the melting pot of All Nigerians and Different from the FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY ABUJA?Just because nobody is hammering about the unruliness of the socalled leaders in other parts of nigeria that you just mentioned does not mean that are not wrong. If you take it upon yourself to hammer on them like the igbos are trying to do about the iron hands of fashola in lagos,we could end up killing several birds with one stone. Nigeria needs to be ruly for it to be able to forge ahead, not even a family unit a strive without abiding rules. |
cKaiser: You should have asked for SoyinkaLagos is the melting pot for all nigerians, what happens there will all ring bell and if left unresolved will be catastrophic. |
Here we go again, believing in ilussions like this are the reasons we can't keep mere streets clean and why we are kept in bondage by churches, mosques and primitive leaders. The water that falls from the sky as rain are the water that evaporated from the oceans, rivers, streams and whatever that is watery on earth, that comes down when warm moist air cools high above the atmosphere and condenses to liquid-rain.It is solely determined by the atmospheric condition. Everything has an answer, just find out and set yourself free. |
I wonder why Soyinka haven't seen the recent actions of the lagos state government as acts that could lead to civil war?The act of deportation of nigerians in their country and the act of undemocratically imposing primitive and tribal olojas on thriving global markets. He owes the people of goodwill a stern comment about what is going on in lagos,if not it will be a great disappointment on his side. |
