Sports / Twitter Trolls Come For Jose Mourinho After Sack From Chelsea FC And It’s Hilari by remspotng: 6:15pm On Dec 17, 2015
The twitter trolls have no chill at all!

Chelsea fans may have mixed feelings about the news of Jose Mourinho’s demise but many on social media are showing little sympathy.

Images of a laughing Arsene Wenger, who’s had run-ins with Mourinho this season, and Dr Eva Carneiro, the former club medic who left the Blues after a high-profile clash with the manager, have proven popular in the immediate aftermath of his sacking.

As have a myriad of ways to bring Mourinho’s apparent preference for defensive-minded tactics, or ‘parking the bus’.

TV/Movies / Top 10 Highest Grossing Movie Franchises Of All Time by remspotng: 9:44am On Dec 06, 2015
An iconic superhero, childhood toy, classic book or even a movie with mind blowing stunts can transform a standalone film into a movie franchise. These series draw fans into the theaters for decades – with sequels, prequels and reboots – as they seek something familiar, beloved, or wildly exciting.

Since 2000, franchise movies have dominated at the box office, typically being the highest grossing films of the year. With series like Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Star Trek and James Bond, what are the top grossing film franchises worldwide? Well, the numbers have been run and here’s what’s been found.

Now, keep in mind these numbers are for a film’s unadjusted gross sales. This means that these numbers are not recalculated for inflation nor the change in movie ticket prices over decades. For instance, franchises like Star Wars and James Bond might rank lower in this list – because a majority of their box office profits came from decades prior to 1990 when ticket prices were much lower. To illustrate, the average movie ticket price in 1983 was $3.15 compared to today’s movie tickets price of $8.17 – plus gross doesn’t take into account the addition of 3D tickets (which were not available in previous decades).

Without further adieu, here’s the 10 highest grossing worldwide film franchises - http://www.aderemisblog.com.ng/2015/12/top-10-highest-grossing-movie-franchises-worldwide.html

Career / Don’t Spend Money On Looking Good - 31 Things You Can Do To Build A $1 Million D by remspotng: 5:05pm On Dec 31, 2014
by Steve McConnell
It’s been almost three years since my wife Irene and I quit our day jobs to pursue the dream of building a business.
We were both at a stage in our lives where merely working to make a dollar was not rewarding enough. We wanted to create something.
And we did, in a way. Today, Arielle has a team of 5 staff and in 2015, our revenue will reach $1 million. All without taking a single dollar of debt or investment.
Although the numbers look promising, the journey of building the business has been an unpredictable one, often hair-raisingly confronting and far from smooth.
Here I’d like to share some of the lessons I’ve learned on this path.

1. Realize That You Are The Problem.

The business you’re about to build will be a direct extension of you. Its DNA will mirror your own beliefs, motivations, worldviews, strengths and weaknesses.
If you’re experiencing a problem in your business, it’s because you haven’t yet developed a capacity for something that the world requires you to learn in order to move forward on your path.

2. Address Issues At Their Core.

One of the main challenges for a new business, for example, is to get enough clients. If there’s not enough of them, you might be tempted to view it as a marketing problem.
While that is true, there’s more to it than that. At a deeper level, it’s also probably an empathy and generosity problem on behalf of the person in charge of marketing.
If this person is not wired to solve other people’s problems and doesn’t experience joy from a pure act of giving, teaching them about USPs and SEO will be a poor investment of time.

3. Embrace Personal Growth.

Your business is a giant classroom in which you’ll get an opportunity to learn about your own barriers and – if you’re willing – to move past them.
The aim is to use your role as a business founder as an opportunity to grow as a human being (which will, in turn, bring about happiness and fulfillment; not to use your business as a vehicle to build fame and fortune in order to bring about happiness (it won’t).

4. Believe That Final Destination Is A Myth.

When I was starting out, I watched too many YouTube videos in which business founders talked about raising millions of dollars and being bought by Google in the space of 6 months.
This led me to be distracted by promise of a magic, fictitious destination – one where we have “made it”, there are no struggles, no threats and little stress.

5. Enjoy The Process Of Building A Business.

The reality of achieving business goals is that every time one is reached, a new set of challenges present themselves, some of which were not relevant or visible at earlier stages.
It means that the very process of building a mature business has the effect of moving goal posts back hardwired into it.
A business that’s struggling to define its value proposition, for example, has little concern for refining processes and writing manuals. However, one that’s trying to scale will view those as a priority.
The lesson here is to cease aiming for a future where life is effortless and learn to enjoy the day-to-day challenge of solving new problems.

TV/Movies / Lady Gaga Pregnant? Spotted With Baby Bump by remspotng: 5:05pm On Dec 07, 2014
Sparking speculation that she could be pregnant with her first child, the singer appeared to be showing a baby bump as she stepped out in New York last night.
Although she has yet to confirm if congratulations are in order, Gaga did appear to be sending an indication of impending motherhood as she placed a protective hand on her tummy.
The Poker Face lady embraced classic Hollywood glamour as she squeezed her curves into a floor-length red gown.
Matching her pout to the scarlet sequins, the rumoured Mother Monster-to-be flashed her ink collection as she glanced over her shoulder to give waiting photographers a smile.
Styling her hair in a trendy up-do, Gaga made the most of the glittering frock’s strapless neckline by showing off her eye-poping cleavage.

Career / 5 Signs You Should Take A Break From Social Media by remspotng: 2:23pm On Dec 02, 2014
In a tech-obsessed society where 500 million tweets are sent per day and 1.28 billion people use Facebook on a regular basis, how can you tell when your own love of “checking in” has gone too far? Alex Soojung-Kim Pang, Ph.D., technology expert and author of The Distraction Addiction, shares some of the most common signs that you should to sign off for a bit.

You make elaborate desserts and projects just to Instagram them.
Did you spend extra time making your salad look picture-perfect or recreate a DIY off Pinterest just to appear crafty? If you’re guilty of situations like these, you may be ready for a break. “When you start crafting your life to be more Twitter- or Instagram-friendly, it’s time to step back,” says Pang. “Thinking about where you’ll go or what you’ll do with an eye to how it will appear on social media undermines your ability to be yourself,” he adds.

You can’t rake the leaves or paint your nails without tweeting about it.
We all have that friend on social media who can’t help but share every single detail of her life. Unfortunately, you may also be that friend. “Composing tweets about what you’re doing as you’re doing it or feeling the need to report your thoughts in real-time are all signs that social media is taking over your life,” says Pang. “There are only 24 hours in a day, and the more time we spend sharing with our friends what we’re doing hour-by-hour, the less time we have to discover for ourselves why we enjoy these activities and what our days are adding up to mean,” he explains.

You know way too much about your connections.
“The big warning sign to look out for here is when you start becoming compulsive about knowing the statuses of your social media ‘friends,’” Pang says. So if you readily know that the random guy you once met at a party just bought a house, and you’ve already stalked his wife’s Facebook profile, you may want to reevaluate how much time you’re spending online. “The irony of social media is that while it can be great for keeping up with the details of our friend’s lives, too much engagement can obscure the big picture and weaken our ability to make sense of our own lives,” adds Pang.

Career / 15 Crazy Ideas To Make Your Life Saner by remspotng: 12:45am On Nov 06, 2014
Don’t knock it til you try it, the saying goes, and in this case it applies. While some of the things I’m suggesting might sound insane or perhaps a little (okay, a lot) OCD, they’re tricks that work, and hey, isn’t that really the bottom line?

1. Keep a marker in the freezer:
If you’re the type of person who cooks a lot and freezes the leftovers, or someone who likes to buy in bulk, keeping a marker in the freezer might mean the difference between “what is this?” and “here’s the pasta sauce I made last summer when the tomatoes were at their peak”. Use it to label and date whatever you’re freezing. Bonus: no more frozen mysteries, no more wondering where to find a marker to label stuff.

2. Collect pint size versions of your favorite toiletries and store them in your suitcase:
This is one of those silly ideas that I used to scoff at until the TSA changed the rules and mini became the rule. Whether it’s a flight across the country, around the world, or a quick overnighter, keeping small size versions of your toiletries in your suitcase means you’re always ready to go. Since all the things I like and need don’t always come in small sizes, I pick them up whenever I see them. Bonus: No last minute scramble, and they don’t take up valuable real estate in your already crowded linen closet.

3. Pack up your beach or ski stuff:
As for traveling, so for sports. In my beach bag I store sunscreen, a towel, a blanket, bathing suits; my ski boots share space with my ski clothes, handwarmers and another stick of sunscreen.Bonus: always ready to go.

Sports / NFF Likely To Call Stephen Keshi Back by remspotng: 5:00am On Oct 27, 2014
The Chris Giwa-led faction of the Nigeria Football Federation has overturned the decision of the body earlier taken by the opposing faction of Amaju Pinnick to reinstate Stephen Keshi as the Super Eagles coach.
The Amaju-led faction replaced Keshi with Amodu Shaibu a fortnight ago after leading the Super Eagles to a 3-1 victory over Sudan in Abuja. The win was the team’s first in four matches in the qualifying series for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Giwa faction took over the NFF following Thursday’s ruling by a Jos Federal High Court, which ordered the return of the status quo in the NFF before the September 30 election that brought in the Amaju-led board in Warri.

A part of the communique released on Friday by the Giwa-led board reads, “The NFF board reviewed and feels so strongly to sustain the out-of-contract assignment given to the technical crew of the Super Eagles led by Stephen Keshi at a very critical moment like this. Nigerians want the national team to play well, win and a pride to them."

The board also dissolved all committees set up by the Amaju group and constituted new ones to manage the nation’s football.
Giwa told SundayPUNCH on the telephone on Saturday that he would have no problem bringing Keshi back to manage the Super Eagles despite the coach saying he was prepared to move on after the NFF failed to renew his contract.

Religion / WHAT: Reading The Bible Makes You Dumb; Music From Beyoncé, Lil Wayne,... by remspotng: 3:04am On Oct 26, 2014
Software developer, Virgil Griffith has taken it upon himself to research and study music in correlation with test scores.
He spent a significant amount of time correlating the collective musical tastes of certain colleges and universities with their students’ average SAT scores.
His result shows that there are particular types of music favoured by people with lower SAT scores and a different type of music preferred by people with higher SAT scores. Virgil Griffith believes this is not a coincidence, and that certain music is made for smarter minds.
Virgil Griffith has been undergoing his research for the past 5 years and releasing new charts on and off with new music stars using new data.
His latest chart to be released shows that people who listen to songs by Beyonce, T.I, Lil Wayne, Hip Hop, Justin Timberlake and a host of others often get the lowest test scores while people who listen to Eminem, Kayne West, Alternate Rock, U2, Norah Jones and more often get average test scores. His graph shows that the highest test scores are often gotten by people who listen to Beethoven.

Health / SURGICAL BREAKTHROUGH: Australian Doctors Transplant 'dead' Hearts by remspotng: 2:43am On Oct 26, 2014
Australian surgeons said Friday they have used hearts that had stopped beating in successful transplants, in a world first that could change the way organs are donated.
Until now, doctors have relied on using the still-beating hearts of donors who have been declared brain dead, often placing the recovered organs on ice and rushing them to their recipients.
But Sydney's St Vincent's Hospital and the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute have developed a technique which means hearts which had been still for 20 minutes can be resuscitated and transplanted into a patient.
So far three people have received hearts in this way, with two recovering well and the third and most recent recipient still requiring intensive care.

"They are the only three in the world," surgeon Kumud Dhital, who is an associate professor at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, told AFP.
"We know that within a certain period of time the heart, like other organs, can be reanimated, restarted, and only now have we been able to do it in a fashion whereby a heart that has stopped somewhere can be retrieved by the transplant team, put on the machine... and then (surgeons can) transplant it."

Health / 5 Foods That May Hurt Male Fertility by remspotng: 2:23am On Oct 26, 2014
You’ve heard the standard advice for protecting your swimmers: Don’t wear tight undies. Keep your laptop far from, well, your lap. Stop smoking ASAP. But there may be an even easier way to shield your sperm — watch what you eat.

“We’ve noticed that fertility has been decreasing over the past several decades. And guys want advice to improve upon matters,” said Dr. Ryan Terlecki, director of the Men’s Health Clinic for the Wake Forest University Department of Urology. “Most guys have never even heard that anything in their diet could impact sperm count.”

But the truth is, an emerging body of research suggests that the foods you pile on your plate may play a role in the number of sperm you have (count), whether they’re normally shaped (morphology), and how well they move (motility).

How that does that play out in the bedroom? “Sperm count is, of course, important, because if it’s not there, you’re not going to [biologically] father a kid,” said Dr. Paul Turek, president of the Society for Male Reproduction and Urology. “And I think sperm motility is more important than sperm count.” Although morphology is less firmly linked to fertility, it has been shown in a number of studies to influence reproductive success, said Audrey Gaskins, who researches nutrition and fertility at the Harvard School of Public Health.

Although the research is still new, one thing is clear: The foods that may pose a threat to male fertility are many of the same dietary culprits behind things such as Type 2 Diabetes and heart disease. That means you’d be smart to avoid them, regardless of whether you plan to make a baby any time soon. The following foods might get in the way of fatherhood:

1. Processed meats

Sure, meat is considered the ultimate man food — but if you eat the wrong kind, your sperm could be compromised. In a 2014 Harvard study, men who consumed the most processed meat — hamburgers, hot dogs, salami, bologna, bacon — had 23 percent fewer normal sperm than guys who ate it sparingly. In another 2014 study, published in the journal Epidemiology, the same researchers found that eating processed meat was associated with lower sperm count.

Interestingly, saturated fat intake — which has previously been blamed for poor sperm quality — wasn’t the nutritional connection. “We didn’t find a link with unprocessed red meat, so it seems to be something that happens in the processing that is detrimental to sperm quality,” Gaskins told Yahoo Health.

One possibility: Processed meats tend to house more hormonal residues than other meats, which could have potential reproductive consequences. “In the U.S., we allow more hormones to be administered to our cattle [than in the European Union],” she said. “So this is definitely one possible mechanism.”

Eat this instead: Want to boost your swimmers? Look to the sea: The same Harvard scientists found that men who eat lots of fish have, on average, a 51 percent higher sperm count than those who barely eat any. This link was strongest for dark meat fish, like salmon or tuna, although white meat fish, such as cod and halibut, had a positive effect, too.

“Dark meat fish have higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids,” which have been previously shown to boost healthy sperm, said Gaskins. The extra dose of vitamin D in dark-meat fish may also be a factor.

2. Full-fat dairy

Whole milk may leave you with a fraction of the healthy sperm you should have. Young guys who eat at least two servings of full-fat dairy — especially cheese and whole milk — per day tend to have fewer motile sperm, according to a 2013 study in Human Reproduction. Don’t blame the cows, though: Pesticides and other chemical contaminants in the environment, which are attracted to the fat in dairy, may be what leads to subpar sperm, the scientists say.

Eat this instead: You don’t have to ditch dairy altogether. Just switch your focus to the low-fat kind: Men who consume a couple servings of low-fat dairy — especially 1% or 2% milk — per day have 33 percent higher sperm counts and more motile sperm than those who eat little or no low-fat dairy, a 2014 study in Fertility and Sterility found.

One explanation: Low-fat milk may boost levels of insulin growth factor-1, a hormone thought to aid the cells that help produce sperm, the scientists say. “It’s not always the sperm themselves [that are affected],” said Terlecki. “Sometimes, it’s the supporting cells — those that create testosterone to nurture sperm development, and cells that guide the sperm toward maturation. We see those cells affected a lot, in terms of compounds that come from the diet.”

Religion / Two Things Christians Should Stop Doing On Social Media by remspotng: 3:03am On Oct 24, 2014
These are two things I have seen on social media that makes me wonder if we are representing Jesus well? These are a couple of things to consider if you are a Christian and use social media often. I say everything in love and with the intention of helping all of us represent His name well.

1.
Stop posting inappropriate things. As Christians we represent Jesus. The Bible calls us ambassadors. With that in mind, shouldn’t we want to represent Him well? I get so sad when I scroll through Facebook, Instagram and twitter, and see a lot of the things Christians are posting. For example, lots of young Christians are posting half naked pictures of themselves, sometimes less than half naked. Others are posting, reposting and tweeting sexual memes and gifs with vulgar images and expressions. When we post things like this and then in our bios we claim to be a follower of Jesus, it sends a mixed message and distorts what it means to be a Christian. Now obviously I know none of us are perfect and we all make mistakes. Having said that, we still need to represent Jesus well. I challenge you to watch what you post on social media. TV/Movies / Tyga Responds To Mack Maine And Drake's Blab Over His Interview by remspotng: 2:07am On Oct 24, 2014
After Tyga openly admitted he doesn’t really rock with Drake or Nicki Minaj like that, of course he was going to get some major backlash online – and not even from just the Barbz and Drizzy’s fans.
A lot of people feel that he should have kept the drama amongst themselves, as there’s not always a need to air dirty laundry, but T-Raww feels differently.

Miss Ebube Essien-Garricks, who won the MTN Ultimate Wonder promo (N64million) in 2012 has revealed how she spent the money in an exclusive chat with our source.
See excerpts

How the ‘win’ was celebrated:
It was really an amazing thing that happened to me, I’m yet to get over the excitement.
Not any one can be lucky like I was and I am still very grateful to God. My family threw
me a party to celebrate but it was an in-house thing, it wasn’t an elaborate one, just private
family celebration. We didn’t invite outsiders to avoid being kidnapped, lol.

You have been off the radar, why is that?
Yes and that’s because I am presently studying business information system in Malaysia.
I left Nigeria in May, 2013.

Why Malaysia?
Actually I wanted to go to Georgia but my ticket wasn’t ready by then, so I settled for here
and I really like it here anyway.
But you were already studying at the Rivers State College of Health Science and Technology
Yes but I had to quit, I couldn’t go back to complete my studies because the whole
winning incident made me popular in school, everyone would point at me, try to be friends
with me and all….. I was known all over which the school and I had to leave
for security reasons, i didn’t feel safe.

Career / 26 Things That Could Change The Rest Of Your Life by remspotng: 6:18am On Oct 21, 2014
If you pay attention to your everyday life careful enough, you’ll know that you can learn from everything and everyone you come across. Our life is basically full of useful lessons that we should learn.
Here are 26 useful things you need to learn now. How these life theories would lead you to live a different life. 1. Primacy and recency:
People mostly remember the first and last things that occurred, barely the middle.
When scheduling an interview, ask the employer the time slots they do interviews and try to be the first or the last.

2. If you work in a bar or in customer service of any kind, put a mirror behind you at the counter.
In this way, angry customers who approach you will have to see themselves in the mirror behind you and the chance of them behaving irrationally will be lowered significantly.

3. Once you make a sales pitch, don’t say anything else.
This works in sales, but it can also be applied in other ways. My previous boss was training me and just gave me pointers. I was working at a gym trying to sell memberships. He told me that once I got all the small talk out of the way and presented the prices, the first person to talk would lose. It didn’t seem like a big deal but it actually worked. Often there were long periods of awkward silence as the person tried to come up with some excuses, but usually they bought.

4. If you ask someone a question and they only partially answer, just wait.
If you stay silent and keep eye contact, they will usually continue to talk.

Celebrities / Is Nicki Minaj Single And Ready To Mingle? by remspotng: 6:11am On Oct 21, 2014
If Nicki Minaj and her boyfriend are still together, then he's got a weird way of showing the love ... having 2 of his 3 Nicki tats covered up with new ink.
Check out the pics for yourself ... Safaree Samuels had some work done on his chest -- though it's unclear when -- and he clearly covered up Nicki's name/mug.
Not only that, but his forearm ink looks drastically faded as well.
Neither have commented on rumors of their breakup, but Nicki definitely hinted at one back in May when she tweeted "SINGLE N READY TO MINGLE."
At the time, sources told us it was just a temporary argument and that the 2 were still together.

A tattoo before the breakup is below

Family / FUNNY: This Gambian Man Has 4 Wives,7 Fiancées & 5 Girlfriends by remspotng: 11:15am On Oct 20, 2014
Sonko Tijan |A prolific lover with four wives, seven fiancées and five girlfriends has set Austria's record for bigamy| was finally caught in a honey trap at Vienna Airport after two of his wives realised they were married to the same man and complained to police.
The seducer had picked up women all across the country, using them for room and board whenever he was nearby and borrowing money from them which he never returned.
His downfall came after he met Sonja Maier, who believed she had found love at first sight when she was swept off her feet by Tijan after meeting him in a bar.
The 28-year-old from Gambia told her he felt the same, and after a whirlwind romance - and against the advice of her family - they were married a month later.
After a year of happy marriage she was pregnant and browsing Facebook when she happened across somebody with the same surname and a strikingly similar-looking husband.
Curious, the delved into the woman's profile. Then she realized this woman's husband was not only similar looking, but actually identical. The fact he had the same surname as her own spouse convinced her something was wrong.

'I thought that either he had a twin I never knew about or he was cheating on me,' she said.

Politics / 2015 Election: Buhari Leads GEJ In Poll Organized by remspotng: 3:19am On Oct 19, 2014
Our source, activated an opinion poll asking Nigerians to indicate who they would vote for if the election were to hold that day between Mr. Buhari (as candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC) and President Goodluck Jonathan ( as candidate of the Peoples Democratic, PDP).
The poll lasted for only 24 hours, and out of a total of 15,435 persons that voted, Mr. Buhari got 12,246 votes, representing 79 percent of the total votes cast, while President Jonathan got 3189 votes, representing 21 percent of the total votes.
However, ostensibly to counter the poll conducted by our source, Mr. Jonathan’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Reno Omokri, also set up a similar poll asking almost the same question posed by the news website.

His poll, which is still running in his blog, “Build Up Nigeria” posed the question “If the Nigerian Presidential election were held today, who would you vote for between President Goodluck Jonathan and General Muhammadu Buhari?”.

Mr. Omokri’s poll began a day after Mr. Buhari declared to run, but unlike the one ran by our source, which has since closed, the one by Build Up Nigeria is still running.
However, the result of the poll, as at 18:32 p.m. on Saturday, showed that Mr. Buhari was also leading by a wide margin.

Religion / PHOTO: A Brain Surgeon Who Claims He Has Been To Heaven Says This Is What It Loo by remspotng: 2:48am On Oct 19, 2014
According to our source, this is the story of a leading brain surgeon, Dr Eben Alexander who claims he has been to heaven.
Read his interesting experience in "heaven" below:

When I was a small boy, I was adopted. I grew up remembering nothing of my birth family and unaware that I had a biological sister, named Betsy. Many years later, I went in search of my biological family, but for Betsy it was too late: she had died.
This is the story of how I was reunited with her — in Heaven.
Before I start, I should explain that I am a scientist, who has spent a lifetime studying the workings of the brain. My adoptive father was a neurosurgeon and I followed his path, becoming an neurosurgeon myself and an academic who taught brain science at Harvard Medical School.
Although nominally a Christian, I was sceptical when patients described spiritual experiences to me. My knowledge of the brain made me quite sure that out-of-body experiences, angelic encounters and the like were hallucinations, brought on when the brain suffered a trauma.

And then, in the most dramatic circumstances possible, I discovered proof that I was wrong. Six years ago, I woke up one morning with a searing headache. Within a few hours, I went into a coma: my neocortex, the part of the brain that handles all the thought processes making us human, had shut down completely. At the time, I was working at Lynchburg General Hospital in Virginia, and I was rushed to the emergency room there. The doctors ascertained that I had contracted meningitis — a rare bacterial strain of E coli was in my spinal fluid and eating into my brain like acid. My survival chances were near zero. I was in deep coma, a vegetative state, and all the higher functions of my brain were offline. Scans showed no conscious activity whatever — my brain was not malfunctioning, it was completely unplugged. But my inner self still existed, in defiance of all the known laws of science.
