FreeStuffsNG:Who told you Bayelsa State is almost 90% water? Some of you will be saying what you don't know and still be very bold about it. Which authority are you quoting that Bayelsa State is 90% water. The land area of Southern Ijaw local in Bayelsa is what will compete with Lagos. Seeing you say Lagos has more land than Bayelsa is the most preposterous thing I have seen. Travelling from just Sagbama to Yenagoa alone on land has already covered travelling from Ikorodu to Ajah and all the communities in between. Lagos that can be covered within 5-6 hours without heavy traffic from one end to all the other ends - Ikorodu - Eti Osa - Abule Egba - Badagry |
fabolouz1:It is stated in the report that those that employed him which you are calling on to terminate his appointment are "Silent". There you have it. |
lexy2014:It is for the purpose of sports and national pride. Your question is like asking what will Nigeria winning the African Cup of Nations add to the lives of the people of Nigeria. Do you realize 200 million Nigerians don't directly or even remotely have anything to gain from winning it but it is still a thing of national pride and togetherness that benefits all Nigerians. What you should be critical of is if the renovation is worth $300 million which doesn't appear so. No be everytime you go dey ask this your questions |
Greatest of all time A once in a generation athlete. Hail Messi, Hail!!! |
chris72:Have you gotten any reasonable information about this perhaps from elsewhere. I'm trying to look their way too. The ROI kind of scares me as they are very high |
Burob:You might think it is a simple expression but it is not. That simple statement is unintentionally speaking to a CLASS where non Muslims are placed or regarded below Muslims. He could have said no human being deserve this kind of treatment but he opted for "...even non Muslims", inferring that though non Muslims are worth less than Muslims but they too don't deserve that treatment because he started that line by stating how worthy he is as a Muslim that deserves good treatment. He knows exactly what he is doing. |
This one na headache for corpers wey won serve for city Back then in the village, corpers got free accommodation, community executive taking care of them, and different students assigned by the school to fetch water for them everyday in Delta State. Not mentioning different farm produce people randomly give them as gifts. |
They should release the woman on bail. Remanding people for bailable offenses is absurd and looks like the trial judge is trying to be petty too having seen she allegedly insulted another Judge previously |
Bigmouth3:Nobody shot down any F-35 let alone F-35s Cracy adults are still flying that false news. If they ask you for the F-35s shot down, maybe you'll go and bring up the fake one that's bigger than the size of a football field or the supposed video of F-35 shot down extracted from Arma 3 video-game |
Elusive001:What are you asking me. Is it not the same thing you are asking me I am saying... |
CoronaVirusPro:So all the people that died under Goodluck Jonathan, Tinubu and their spokesperson from Kwara killed them? Considering they criticized everything and everytime it happened. God will punish some of you as you have decided to behave like animals because of political patronage |
"decade long skirmishes" God will punish Otega Ogra Benue that has consumed close to 2,000 people in the last two years is what he is calling skirmishes. Who is fighting in Benue except for one side murderous terrorists killing people in their sleep |
It is very painful to read some things about Nogeria. What's with the thank you thank you and eulogizing the president for trying to visit over 200 Nigerians killed under his watch at once. Umahi seem to be more grateful for the president visiting Nigerians that were brutally murdered than he feeling sorry for those that violently died from lack of government action. He is more embarrassed that flood water obstructed the president than the government which he is part of being unable to protect Nigerians. Something is wrong with Umahi. He and Akpabio are the biggest ass lickers of this regime |
Galileoteck:He does not know what he is saying as usual |
Agbegbaorogboye:Where is the abuse or insult in my comment? People are sick truly |
LordBiden:You are just looking for attention and unfortunately, you will get it |
Give the damn award to Hakimi. Very good and consistent player |
chopnaira:It was Olu of Itsekiri until 1952 when Awolowo through the Action Group fraudulently connived with Itsekiris to change it to Olu of Warri. Olu of Warri wey Ijaw and Urhobo dey pursue from their territories nai be Olu of Warri?
|
FreeStuffsNG:Nothing to blame the mother with, not even naivety. Don't think she ever thought the cowife had ill will towards her or the child especially if/when they never had any problems prior and looks like they never did cause the report did not say the mother made any fuss out of it when she saw the cowife tendering to the baby except only when she saw the baby in distress and not necessarily the cowife carrying the baby. That cowife is just evil and should be given capital punishment alongside the evil brother. Hurting a little baby in that gruesome manner can only be animalistic |
U09ce:The etymology is "Warri" is disputed. Ijaws say it was 'Wari' corrupted to Warri. 'Wari' is HOUSE in Ijaw. Itsekiris say it was 'Iwerre' corrupted to Warri. 'Iwerre' is joy, blessings, peace, and good luck in Itsekiri language according to them. But Iwerre is also used to refer to Ode-Itsekiri, their traditional homeland. In as much as I want to remove sentiment from the argument because I am Ijaw, I kind of believe the Ijaw folklore because "Wari" is closer to "Warri" and makes more meaning of the origin of the name Warri than "Iwerre". Again, Itsekiris say Ginuwa, a man from Edo their first King is the founder of Warri Kingdom. Ginuwa was married to an Ijaw woman - which leads me to believe Ijaws were already in that warri axis just like the Itsekiri and Urhobo so it is definitely not out of place for the name Warri to have originated from Ijaw. To add: Itsekiri, Ijaw, Urhobo they all have their boundaries even though sometimes contested. If they respect those boundaries, there will be no problem. The current problem and the ones before is largely because Itsekiris want to claim over lordship over the others which to be frank is impossible. None of the three ethnic groups have the power to chase the others out of warri, even the Nigerian government cannot do it because they are willing and ready to die for it. |
stmartynz:Attah of Igala Etsu of Nupe Tor Tiv Och'Idoma of Idoma people Abodi Ikale of Ikale people etc Your point is not absolute so there is nothing to draw from. |
Darkjudge24:So Ijaws of Warri are the angels Urhobo don't know? Do you realize Ijaws have more customary and historical/ancestral links with Urhobos in the western delta than Urhobos are with Itsekiri? There are several Urhobo towns founded by Ijaw and Urhobo ancestors, there are several Ijaw towns where they speak Urhobo and Ijaw etc in the western Delta. Even Ginuwa, the first Olu of Itsekiri was married to an Ijaw woman. |
U09ce:No, it is not out of place. It was rightly known as Olu of Itsekiri until 1952 when they connived with Awolowo to fraudulently change it to Olu of Warri. To your second point: there is; Attah of Igala named after Igala people Etsu of Nupe named after Nupe people Och'Idoma named after Idoma people Tor Tiv named after Tiv people Abodi Ikale named after Ikale people etc. The convention for naming that you alluded to is mostly when a tribe or ethnicity has several/more than one kingdom so the stool is named after the land to demarcate and separate one kingdom from the other. Not saying it cannot be named after the land in a single kingdom ethnic group though. Itsekiri people have a single traditional stool so Olu of Itsekiri is not out of place as it was rightly known until 1952. Have you not wondered it is Olu of Warri but he does not have traditional authority over the Ijaws and Urhobos of warri. There are places he cannot even go to in warri. Doesn't that surprise you if he is truly and rightly Olu of warri? Do you know how many times Urhobo and Ijaw youths has chased him away from their territory because he is for Itsekiri. Isn't that shameful. Which kingdom have you seen where the king lives outside the traditional headquarters of the kingdom? It is the Olu of Itsekiri known as Olu of warri. The traditional headquarters of the Itsekiri nation is Ode-Itsekiri but the Olu palace is in Warri and not just that, it is in Urhobo territory |
akus6060:Athah of Igala Etsu of Nupe Tor Tiv Och'Idoma Abodi Ikale The list is endless. Looks like you are the one that has no sensible thing to say because of ignorance. Though I knew someone like you will come forward with this same argument because I have seen many Itsekiri people like that. Firstly, there can be no Ovie of Urhobo or Amanyanabo of Ijaw etc because they don't have a single kingdom like the Itsekiris. A traditional stool is mostly named after a land when you have several kingdoms within same ethnicity. It is done so to demarcate the land that separates one kingdom from the other. Itsekiris have a single traditional stool that's why your stool was rightly named Olu of Itsekiri until it was corruptly changed to Olu of Warri in 1952. Before then it was Olu of Itsekiri. Are not even ashamed that you call it Olu of Warri yet the king does not have traditional authority over the Ijaws and Urhobos of Warri. There are places he cannot even go in warri despite bearing the fake name Olu of Warri. Doesn't that mean something to you... Attah of Igala is named after Igala people, Etsu of Nupe is named after Nupe people, Och'Idoma is named after Idoma people, Tor Tiv is named after Tiv people. You can bring another ignorant point |
U09ce:The number one thing in the road to peace among the three tribes is changing the name of the Itsekiri stool to its original name - Olu of Warri back to Olu of Itsekiri Like you rightly said, these guys are not even fighting for development but over nonsensical things. With the constant fighting, unsuspecting minds would think Warri is one super place of development. Warri is a ghost town fully owing to the senseless fighting among the three tribes |
She should have just said she found cheap labour in Nigeria with no checks and regulatory oversight |
Some people relied on the error to insult students |
STEWpid:Check that of the South South very well, there are northerners. Check others well too and not just the South West. When that of the South East was done, it included people from outside the region |
STEWpid: |
soojar:Alright |
soojar:OK. Is that also the reason her money was confiscated that is not a proceed of the crime she is convicted for. Again, he could have sentenced her to six months rather than a year. All that for exchanging money at a party and you don't see anything wrong because she is a serial offender. Something is wrong with that judgment. I don't understand why you don't see it so. |
samuelson06:That judge is not serious. Confiscated their business money that is not a proceed of crime and still gave her one year jail term with no option of fine. All for selling naira. There is no justice for ordinary people in this country |
