I don't know why Nigerians are so negative. This is a young woman who rose from nothing in her acting career to become one the the most celebrated beautiful actresses in Nigeria and beyond. She has decided to widen her horizon by starting her own shoe line and U Nigerians are hating, WHY?,cant u guys ever be happy for a someones progress for once , if not for anything for ur fellow Nigerian. Why insult her, bring her down , cast her products to be fake.Look at Victoria Beckham, she was a musician and after she got married deiced to start her own clothing , perfume and accessories line. If u see the way British pple admire , and encourage her, and market her products , u ll think she is a mini God. What special skills has she got in designing that Ini Edo hasnt got and yet she is celebrated all over Uk as a top designer. This is the reason why that country is a failure; lack of cooperation , wickedness , hatred and jealousy!.
Tomorrow every body will start blaming Jonathan and western imperialism.
Nonsense angry.

I appreciate your contribution and your analysis about starting a pharmaceutical manufacturing company but the logistics involved in that process requires a lot of time, energy and technical experience and approach. That is not say that i have no interest in going towards that channel but that will come in much later.
For now, i am more interested in starting off the pharmaceutical business as a wholesaler first, accumulate more capital and experience and then proceed from there.
If you have any suggestions about the logistics involved in running pharmaceutical distribution company, i will be very willing to consider your contributions.
BusinessRe: Starting A Pharmaceutical Marketing/distribution Company In Nigeria by revlution(op): 1:55am On Feb 11, 2012
@ndata,
yeah, this sort of business is not one that gives immediate gain, it needs significant funds being pumped to it initially till u are able to gain the popularity of retailers, by then, you can now start realising a lot of returns. Significant returns could be expected in about 3-5 yrs if properly managed.

@duzz
yeah construction a manufacturing company is not a bad idea but the start up and running costs are too high and this aspect needs some level of technical expertise which at the moment is not readily available. But that could come in much later.
BusinessRe: Starting A Pharmaceutical Marketing/distribution Company In Nigeria by revlution(op): 11:35pm On Feb 08, 2012
Ok,
Coming to the logistics , i was wondering what the margin of the selling price of the imported drugs will be in Nigeria to be able to achieve a reasonable profit that can enable the importer run the business and yet make an appreciable gain. I know in Nigeria, if the price of the drugs are too cheap, buyers question the efficacy, on the other hand if the price is too costly they will not afford it and other competitive market brands could knock u off. So do u have a profit margin in mind at the moment.
BusinessRe: Starting A Pharmaceutical Marketing/distribution Company In Nigeria by revlution(op): 8:57pm On Feb 07, 2012
@ndata, yes u are very accurate, a strong presence is needed in the open market because it gives u an opportunity to target the chemist shops and other druggist that sell at retail prices to patients. Also another very important channel is marketting in hospitals(teaching hospitals), private clinics and even laboratories.
.
By niche marketting i mean drugs that are not classed as OTC but strictly on prescription by a doctor. An example is the medication called Rhogam which is prescribed specifically to O Negative mothers to prevent the occurrence of still birth in the woman. Only few companies distribute this medication whereas the number of women that have this condition is significant in child bearing females in Africa. Most times it is often a challenge getting these medications and sufferers would do anything to get access to it. So by investing in such a product and with appropriate marketing and advertising one can really hit it off.
Eventhough there are certain drugs that Nafdac prohibits its importation
Paracetamol tablets and syrups
Cotrimoxazole tablets and syrups
Metronidazole tablets and syrups
Chloroquine tablets and syrups
Haematinic formulations:
[i] Ferrous sulphate and ferrous gluconate tablets
[ii] Folic acid
[iii] Vitamin B Complex tablets [except modified release formulations]
Multivitamin tablets, capsules and syrups [except special formulations]
Aspirin tablets [except modified release formulations and soluble aspirin
Magnesium trisilicate tablets and suspensions
Piperazine tablets and syrups
Levamisole tablets and syrups
Clotrimazole cream
Ampicillin/Cloxacillin combination capsules
Ointments – Penicillin/gentamycin
Pyrantel palmoate tablets and syrups
Intravenous fluids (Dextrose, Normal Saline, it is worthwhile to know that special formulations of these products such as the multivitamins could also be imported. A good example of a multivitamin which costs a lot of money and people are crazy about, is this product called Alphabetic that is claimed to be a miracle worker for diabetics. It is nothing more than just a bunch of multivitamin preparation and a few minerals. But the secret of success of this medication is the marketting strategy the distributors use in convincing physicians and patients about the drug.
So in effect, in as much as i intend targetting the niche market, i could also go into special formulation s of OTC drugs and see how it goes.
Based on the official cars and salary, it is not included in the 10,000,000 but i guess from your suggestion it has to be increased.
The drug i meant is supposed to be all drugs to be imported that is not in the prohibited list.
Thanks.
BusinessRe: Starting A Pharmaceutical Marketing/distribution Company In Nigeria by revlution(op): 5:16pm On Feb 06, 2012
Also, Pakistan and Bangladesh are good markets. Does NAFDAC disapprove importation from these countries?
BusinessRe: Starting A Pharmaceutical Marketing/distribution Company In Nigeria by revlution(op): 5:12pm On Feb 06, 2012
Ndata:
@Revolution. Am also interested in that business and i have been researching on it as well.I guess we can share ideas and information. To begin with you need to import the drugs probably from India or China. And for that to be possible you need a pharmacist on board.Or Pharmacist certificate. And for any brand of drug you want to import you must register it with NAFDAC for 1 million naira.I can continue,
Thanks for expressing interest in this field of investment and for you contribution. I have done some research my self and found a couple of things such as the process of NAFDAC registration which is as follows-

-Five (5) copies of the Dossier Three packs of drug samples
-Superintendent and Production Pharmacist's current annual license to practice as Pharmaceutical Chemists
-Premises Registration License from Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
-A separate application form shall be submitted for each regulated product.

In this business , i think there are 3 main aspects to it, firstly, registration of your company itself, secondly, registration of the regulated products with NAFDAC and thirdly clearing and forwarding at the ports(which includes authorization from Quality Control Services-QCS).

Prior to all these processes one shld have done a market survey to determine the type of drug products to import. Personally i would prefer to go into Niche marketting to be able to gain more monopoly over availability of certain special drugs that are hard to get in Nigeria.

Your contributions are welcome.

whats the fuzz about the godamn language. 95% of the people here in Italy dont speak English and they don't give a damn about it.
The difference between Nigeria and Italy is that Nigeria claims to be an English speaking country while Italy is not.Whatever that is worth doing, is worth doing well. So we had better speak English language properly or revert to Pidgin speaking country.

The thing u have to understand is that u have to treat the girl u meet online as if u are talking with a real life girl, for example, if her name is freecocoa grin, try and be polite. Make sure u use words like please, pardon me, etc. Strike up  interesting convos be funny without being cocky or rude . U could ask  about her previous relationships, what went wrong and try and console her and comfort her if she feels badly hurt by it. Women are easily connected to people that give them emotional support cos they are more vulnerable emotionally when compared to men.Be her'' shoulder to cry on''. Compliment her in every way, and never blame her or judge her outrightly, believe me she will want to chat with u a second time.Try it !

mchtewwwww, The music is a total failure, starting from the soundtrack to the lyrics to the people in the highly sexualized video.
why is it that Nigerian artists sing mostly about illegal money(yahoo yahoo) and women, cant they emulate contemprary artists like Psquare who always have a meaningful message to pass on to the young ones.
You guys should stop copying US by posting naked women all over ur video to make it sell. Music is appreciated by the ears not with the eyes.
So by posting a video full of naked women doesnt make this crap called nwati or nauti,, whatever, reasonable.

You really do have a sense of humor. who is "insecure?" Do you really know what the word means? If you knew you wouldn't be using it.  First, the fact is that you are refusing to post pictures of your fellow black women like your mother, tells me that you  VERY INSECURE in yourself and your race.

Second, the fact that you can smugly say " I have no reason for not putting a black woman's picture up" tells me that you need some psychological help to purge you of your inherent hatred for your fellow black women. I believe you are black also.  I have no problem with you putting up here photos of all white women but at least include a black face, even one is ok. So that if our young daughters come up here and look at it, they will all a have sense of themselves being represented as a projector of beauty.

Anyone who looks at this forum and wonders how it made it to the top page definitely sees what I see.  Do you have any sense of reason? Can you understand that this is a forum for Black people of an African country and 99% of the viewers and contributors are black. Can you get this? Do I need to explain this again?
YOU ARE A TRUE GENUIS.
I LOVE THE FACT THAT YOU POINTED THIS OUT CLEARLY TO THE BIASED POSTER OF THIS ARTICLE.
WE BLACK PEOPLE HAVE TO LOVE AND SEE BEAUTY IN OURSELVES BEFORE OTHER PEOPLE CAN SEE US AS BEAUTIFUL.
IF A '' BLACK PERSON'' COULD POST THIS ARTICLE GLORIFYING THE BEAUTY OF WHITE PEOPLE AND NOT EVEN RECOGNIZING HER FELLOW BLACK PEOPLE THEN IT GOES A LONG WAY TO TELL HOW ASHAMED SHE IS TO BE LABELLED A BLACK WOMAN.
I AM NOT SAYING THAT SHE SHOULD FILL THE PAGES WITH PICTURES OF BLACK WOMEN BUT ATLEAST 1 PICTURE OF A BLACK WOMAN, WILL NOT ONLY BRING TO OUR ATTENTION THAT BLACK WOMEN WERE PRESENT AT THE GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS BUT ALSO BRING OUT THE EXOTIC BEAUTY OF A BLACK WOMAN.
THE MOMENT WE START SEEING OURSELVES AS BEAUTIFUL, THEN THE WORLD WOULD START SEEING THAT IN US TOO.
BRUSHING OURSELVES TO THE CORNER WILL NOT TAKE US ANYWHERE.
LET THE POSTER BE AWARE OF THIS FOR FUTURE REFERENCES.

Pls Pls, I think there is an element of truth in what kobo-junkie wrote. Truth be told, pre- war Libya offered a reasonable amount of job opportunities to so many immigrants more than the so called Nigeria. People left the '' giant of Africa'' (we all know which of them) where they couldnt afford the barest neccesities of life and went to Libya for a better life, and believe me they were better off. Even at the climax of the recent Libyan conflict, Libya could afford to sell Perol at the price of 19 naira per liter while the ironically stable Nigeria was selling at 65 naira(government petrol stations) and still planning to remove fuel subsidy; to mention but a few.
Kobo junkie is not making a joke by her comments, shes only being realistic about the JOKE called Nigeria.

I strongly believe in the potentials of Nigeria but at the moment it is a failed nation,a chancre in the world of politics, religion and economics.

It is  true that it is a country that made me who i am today but sadly, its a country I NEVER wish to serve!!!

Best of luck to those who venture to ruffle it out there, its because they never had the opportunity to leave Nigeria in the first place otherwise they would have left a long time ago.

CultureRe: What Can You Say About Nigeria by revlution: 2:30pm On Oct 01, 2011
Mr--Why:
NIGERIA, A nation where wrong is increasingly being justified. Where those who got their money through illicit means are seen as heroes and glorified. Where the Youths put instant wealth and gratification over knowledge and long-term planning. Where status, nepotism, cronyism, religious fanaticism, tribalism and every other type of negative isms is the order of the day. A nation where Natural and Human resources is a curse rather than an asset. Where religious leaders prey on the weakness of the vulnerable and extort the little they have. Where stupidity is seen as a normal thing.

A place where intellectuals go to quench. A place where education is becoming a liability instead of an asset. Where a bookworm is looked down upon and caricatured to go "Hustle" for money and stop wasting time reading books because in Nigeria "Money is everything". A place where corrupt leaders, officials thrive because of sycophants. A nation where an aspiring Youth would gladly say man if I became politician "me too go loot my own share". A nation of cowards that continue to deteriorate every day. Putting all that together, how do you measure it , A proud fool at 51 or proudly independent at 51?

With the way things are going, I foresee a practical failed state( because it is already a virtual failed state), a radical change(that could be violent) or the inevitable breakup of the artificial nation called NIGERIA!!!
Nigeria in Summary.

Thank you for that question.
Firstly which nursing qualification do you have , is it HND nursing, Bsc Nursing, auxillary nursing (nurse Eliza)
Secondly, do where do u want to work, company hospital, private hospital, FG hospital, chemist.

HND nursing+private hospital average pay/month-10k
HND nursing+FG hospital-13k
Bsc nursing+FG hospital-25k
Bsc nursing+private hosp-15k
Bsc nursing+company hospital-50k(depending)
HND+Company hosp- 35k
nurse eliza+chemist- self employed
All are subject to years of experience and promotion which could improve pay.
But if u are out side Naija pay rates are much higher with better recpect.
In uk minimun pay is 12-15 pounds per hr.
In the US mnimum pay is 20-25 dollars per hour
