PoliticsRe: JUST IN!!! Sen. Godswill Akpabio Wins At The Court Of Appeal(photos) by rexwalters: 7:00pm On Nov 09, 2019
Osagyefo98:
Ekpeyong will still win

Akpabio hold your ministerial position tight ooo before you lose both ends

Now this is serious

Akpabio will have to step down as minister to contest and what if loses by then the position won't be for him again because Buhari won't give him another chance

Same reason Timpre Sylva refused to contest Bayelsa governorship election because he might lose at both ends

Ngige refuses to contest the second time when court nullified his election for fear of losing at both ends

This Judgement is a heavy burden for Akpabio. Let his advisers advice him well on this
Where any of the instances you mentioned reruns? He will run the rerun as a minister, no law against it, fayemi waited till after the time specified before he quit Buhari's cabinet, Pdp shouted, but the plot was already in motion, they will mobilize, and use Niger Delta Ministry money and nddc money to finish ekpeyong.

Governor Udom is tired of fighting with Akpabio, Ekpeyong please go and sit down.
PoliticsRe: How PDP Will Bounce Back In 2023 -bode George by rexwalters: 6:49pm On Nov 09, 2019
Asnafsaeed:
"Then our leader now who is Alhaji Atiku Abubakar should rally other members of PDP together, he must return to the country so that we can have this important meeting on how to strategise and plan for 2023."

It's obvious to any sane individual that can read in between the line, that Atiku will clinch the PDD presidential ticket again
Hypertension and exhaustion will kill him.
PoliticsRe: Darkness pervades the country as national grid collapses again by rexwalters: 12:25pm On Nov 09, 2019
Kanade21:
The problem with power is that we need at least $100billion to fully replace and upgrade the grid., and even more hundreds of billions to improve generation as well. Especially since the grid is in a mess. And cannot even carry the power safely.

That's why power was privatised in 2014, so as to bring in funding for the sector. The problem is, most Nigerians don't pay for the little power they use. Then the law setting up the privatisation does not allow DISCOS to set the price...driving away foreign investors (and if the govewrnment revokes the law,and prices go up, people will shout opression), the banks don;t want to lend because they know they won't see their cash, and so on.

So far, all we have is the government plan to improve generation to 11000mw...which isn't enough anyway. And to be frank, we need power at 40000 MW before we even start seeing improvements. Lagos needs 10000mw for 24 hour light.

Yes, government has failed...but, without defending APC , PDP too has no answer to the power problem. Nor do any of the parties. Even if your Atiku took over, the sector is still going to face the issues I have enumerated.

It is either Nigerians are ready to face the truth and pay for improved power...government and people, or we forget about it, and keep on using generators.

And yes, before you shout...that is how some of us used to bash PDP until 2013...when this privatisation thing came up, and some of us had to do some reading and face the harsh truth and realise the problem is beyond PDP and APC. Nigeria needs a lot of money, possibly beyond what we have to fix power. Time we faced the truth.
Thanks, please educate that racoon of a rodent.

As long as the VP has not admitted to having any issues with his boss, Afenifere can rest for now.
Even if he has problems with the President what can they do?, They couldn't help Atiku, so they should be careful with their misguided rhetoric talk, that basket mouth yinka odumakin, that used to work for the President back in the days, it seems he likes playing the opposition?
PoliticsRe: Buhari Leaves Deputy Looking Weak Amid Nigeria Succession Talk - Bloomberg by rexwalters: 7:13pm On Nov 08, 2019
festacman:
Surprising that Bloomberg fell for this mischievous narratives inspired by the opposition. In US, does the Economic Advisory Council advise Pres. Trump or VP Pence? The answer says it all.

It is important to emphasize that the influence, which VP Yemi Osinbajo enjoyed and exerted during first 4 years in office was largely due to Pres. Buhari's ill-health and loyalty. It is this influence that people are mistaking today as convention rather than conscious concession. Let's face it. How influential was VP Jonathan under Pres. Yar'adua or VP Sambo under Pres. Jonathan. Pres. Obasanjo who conceeded too much to VP Atiku regretted it. I am sure while sincere supporters moan on his behalf and mischievous haters display their mockery, VP Osinbajo will remain grateful to Pres. Buhari for that rare 'freehand' opportunity, which endeared him to Nigerians and catapulted his political worth.

The fact remains that in Presidential System of Government, the VP is an appendage of the President. The President is the executive Head of Government and Commander-in-Chief. This is captured in the constitution. I am sure that as someone who taught and practised law, VP Osinbajo knows his place. It is so in United States from where we borrowed the system.

Now, take a look at what some former United States VPs said about the post they once occupied:

“I am not in a leadership position. I am supporting the president. He can exert the leadership and I can support him.” — Nelson Rockefeller, the 41st vice president

The vice presidency is “not worth a bucket of warm piss” and “the worst damn fool mistake I ever made.” — John Nance Garner, the 32nd vice president

“The vice presidency is the most insignificant office that ever the invention of man contrived or his imagination conceived.” — John Adams, the 1st vice president

“Look at all the vice presidents in history. Where are they? They were about as useful as a cow’s fifth teat.” — Harry Truman, the 34th vice president

“I would a great deal rather be anything, say professor of history, than vice president.” — Theodore Roosevelt, the 25th vice president

"You shut the door, you tell the boss exactly what you think. But when the door opens, the job of the vice president is to stand right next to the president and implement the policy that he's decided. And I'm prepared to do that. - Mike Pence currently serving as the 48th vice president of the United States

“I do not propose to be buried until I am really dead.” — New Hampshire Sen. Daniel Webster, on rejecting an offer to be future President William Henry Harrison’s running mate in 1839
Just incase the crocodile tears Hypocrites missed the excellent write up.
