Family / Questions You May Ask When Choosing A TV Stand by rfremote: 8:29am On Aug 23, 2022
What are the questions to ask yourself to choose the right TV cabinet? Several criteria are to be taken into consideration such as the space you have in your living room and the main use you want to make of it. Homary advises you and guides you step by step in your choice in order to make your layout a success.

QUESTION 1: What type of TV cabinet to choose?
It is important to ask the right questions when it comes to choosing your TV cabinet. Real element of decoration of the living room, there are colors, sizes and various shapes. One of the first criteria to take into account is the type of TV stand you want to install. Do you prefer a suspended or wall-mounted TV cabinet or do you rather opt for a functional TV cabinet with several storage spaces? We guide you step by step to make the right choice.

What are the advantages of the hanging TV stand?
The suspended TV cabinet or also called wall-mounted TV cabinet has several advantages. At the same time modern, design and practical, it is more and more appreciated. Fixed to the wall, it frees up floor space and leaves a clean and unobstructed space. Accompanied by a few shelves on either side, the suspended TV unit is perfect for decorating an entire wall. However, it is important to choose a robust model to support the weight of your TV.

Free-standing TV cabinet
The free-standing TV cabinet is undoubtedly the most sought after. Known and recognized for its ease of installation and its infinite choice of models, it is a safe bet.

There are several types of furniture to be placed: one with feet or one that is placed on the floor (often equipped with a base). Opting for a TV stand on legs (conical, pins, square, on wheels, etc.) allows you to take advantage of a certain height and clear space when it comes to cleaning your living room down to the smallest detail. recesses.

In free-standing TV cabinets, we find functional TV cabinets with storage and rather design TV cabinets, very refined in a minimalist style.

The TV cabinet with storage to make room clean
Indispensable, the TV cabinet with storage is a must-have. Whether suspended or on feet, it is most of the time equipped with storage. Drawers, sliding cupboards, niches or hinged doors, there is no shortage of storage space and allow you to clean up space by revealing pretty decor and a few plants.

Papers, supplies, multimedia devices, cables and other items will find their perfect place in these storage units. So, if your wish is to have additional practical storage, then this type of TV cabinet is for you.

QUESTION 2: How to choose the dimensions of your TV stand?
After deciding on the type of furniture you will install in your living room, you need to choose the right dimensions. And depending on the space you have and the desired finish, there are a few small measures to take before buying your new piece of furniture. Length, width, height, how to choose the right dimensions?

The length of the TV stand, an essential criterion
Most TV stands are between 120cm and 180cm in length. So there isn't really an ideal length, except that it should be chosen according to the size of your screen and the space you have in your living room.

For example, if your wall is 3 m long and your TV is 120 cm, go for a piece of furniture about 160 cm long so as not to risk overloading the space. If you have your TV on the left or the right, the free space will be perfect for hosting pretty decor!

What height for a TV stand?
Regarding the height of your TV cabinet, it mainly depends on the height under the ceiling you have. For example, if your living room has a ceiling height of 2.30m, you can absolutely opt for a TV unit that is at least 70cm high.

The height of this piece of furniture will also depend on the size of your TV, as well as the distance between your seats and your television, but also the height of your seats. It is recommended to opt for a TV at eye level in order to be comfortably installed without having to strain your neck.

QUESTION 3: TV cabinets for all styles
A true universe of design, Homary offers a varied selection of TV furniture and good news, there is something for all styles!
Whether you have a contemporary living room, with an industrial decor or rather a Scandinavian style, there is a wide choice of TV furniture for all tastes. So, take the time to choose a piece of furniture that will be in harmony with the rest of the furniture in your living room and that will fit perfectly with the style you want to give to your space.

The timeless Scandinavian inspiration
An unbeatable trend, the Scandinavian inspiration easily finds its place in any interior. A mix of wood and soft colors such as white, light gray or pastel colours, the scandi style goes through the years without going out of style. Homary has understood this and is inspired by this design to design its collections.

The industrial style for a living room with character
The industrial loft style layout is more and more popular these days. And for good reason ! The dark wood and metal duo accentuates the retro-vintage look of a room, just like the “worn” look found in this style.

Raw or recycled wood is also making its appearance and has already won over more than one. Do you want to give your living room a New York loft look? Opt for an industrial-style TV cabinet!

A design TV cabinet in a modern living room
The design style is synonymous with elegance, modernity but also originality. Evolving with the latest trends, the designer TV cabinet gives a living room a modern look. Materials, shapes, colors… everything is possible. So dare a touch of originality in your living room by falling for a designer TV stand.

QUESTION 4: Choosing the right material for a TV stand

Wood, the essential
The choice of materials differs depending on the style of your living room. Wood, for example, is one of the most widely used materials in the manufacture of furniture. A noble and natural material, it has been worked on for many years by designers and craftsmen such as cabinetmakers.

Regardless of the type of furniture, it creates a warm atmosphere in your interior. At Homary, woodworking is part of our DNA. Coming from a family of craftsmen, the founding brothers like noble materials such as solid wood (robust as hell for a TV stand). Oak, walnut, acacia, teak… as you will have understood, wood is an essential and unavoidable material in our interiors.

Metal for a loft look
Metal is making a comeback and we love it. With cupboards like industrial lockers or in minimalist mode with a wired design, metal furniture is on the rise. It also has the gift of bringing an extra touch of robustness. Combined with one or more materials such as wood or glass, the metal TV cabinet is a sensation!

How about concrete?
When minimalist design meets the mineral tone of concrete, beautiful furniture emerges. Accompanied by a metal tray, your concrete TV cabinet could well make people jealous! Its both raw and sober side will be unanimous among lovers of modern and minimalist furniture.

QUESTION 5: Where should you place your TV stand?

In which room to install the TV stand?
If most of the time, the TV cabinet finds its place in a living room, or a living room, TV lovers can also install it in their bedroom. And why not ? You can also create a TV corner in a dedicated room, even in a small space.

Once the room of destination has been chosen, make sure to place your TV stand in the right place and at the right distance from your seats or your bed. And also remember to choose a space that will not be backlit...

The rules to follow
So, when you want to properly install your furniture and in particular your TV stand, it is important to take a few things into account. To recap, you will have to take into account the size of your screen and the space available in your room. You will also need to think about the distance between your sofa and your screen.

If you opt for a wall-mounted TV cabinet, make sure the solidity of the wall as well as that of the cabinet. Finally, choose your TV cabinet according to your tastes, your needs and your budget. But one thing is certain, install a piece of furniture that you like both in terms of its design and functionality. Sleek and stylish TV stand, rather sturdy or with storage, Homary has what you need!
Travel / Traveling By Bike - More And More People Are Turning To Electric Drives by rfremote: 8:28am On Jun 16, 2022
Bicycles with an electric motor have long since lost their pensioner image. As a result, almost only athletes use pure muscle power, say retailers in the region.

In order to get from A to B on two wheels, more and more people are relying on an electric motor instead of muscle power - whether with a pedelec, which only supports pedalling, or with an e-bike, which also allows you to do without muscle power could advance. The Federal Statistical Office provides impressive figures: At the beginning of 2021, there were around 1.2 million electric bicycles in private households in Germany, which is 20 percent more than in the previous year. In total, that was around 7.1 million compared to 5.9 million at the beginning of 2020. Around every eighth household (13 percent) owned at least one electric bicycle, at the beginning of 2020 it was still every ninth household (11 percent).

A trend confirmed by bicycle dealers in the region. According to the observation of Daniel Renz from the car dealership and bicycle shop of the same name in Steinheim , there is a reason for this: "This is mainly due to the employer offers," according to his observation. Because it could hardly be cheaper and safer than using an electric bicycle used by the employer. He still has "normal" bikes on offer. Above all, however, these would be used by sporty riders, such as the new gravel bikes, a type of racing bike with wide tires.

Alexander Wehinger from the wheel factory in Marbach has even observed a slight opposite trend, although the wheels with electric drive make up the lion's share of the vehicles sold at around 80 to 85 percent. "There are also people who no longer want electric bikes because they have noticed that they are relatively heavy, and that is impractical if, for example, you want to take them on the train or have to use the stairs because the elevator has broken down." On the other hand, so-called mixed bikes with a small rear motor or a small "bottle battery" that is located in the place where the drinking bottle is usually attached are on the rise. "They only deliver half the power, but they also weigh just under three kilograms," says the expert.

Who in the two-wheeler barn in MundelsheimIf you want a "normal" bike without an electric drive, you have to order it. "This is due to the small sales area of just 70 square meters and the low demand," says Gerhard Armbruster. In addition, the electric bikes are more profitable than normal bikes, and the manufacturers have set up their portfolios accordingly. "That's roughly a 75:25 ratio," he says. That means: 75 percent electric bikes, 25 percent powered by muscle power. Normal bicycles still make up a large proportion of repairs, but are otherwise more for athletes who want special bikes. "The classic trekking bike is no longer in demand." Keyword repair: what happens to the bike, What if the battery runs out after a few years? Do the customers then have it replaced or do they want a completely new bike right away? There is no general answer to this, say the three dealers in unison. That is as different as the people themselves. But Alexander Wehinger thinks that anyone who owns an e-bike is generally environmentally conscious. Some simply had the battery repaired, which is possible for some. And Daniel Renz emphasizes that those who pay even more attention to the environment rely on "biobikes" - in other words: normal bikes that are operated with muscle power.
Graphics/Video Market / Telecentric Lens: Intended Use And Principle by rfremote: 9:00am On Sep 27, 2021
A telecentric lens is a lens whose optical axis is parallel to the main ray. By shooting with this lens, you can capture an image with no angle of view and no error due to parallax. It is suitable for precision processing because it can read objects with unevenness and depth at a constant magnification. In addition, since it is possible to create an image without a three-dimensional effect, it does not cause distortion at the center and edges of the image, and is used for inspection of minute scratches and dust detection of objects that easily reflect light such as glass surfaces...

Usage of telecentric lens
Telecentric lenses are used in a variety of applications. For example, inspection of three-dimensional objects. If you shoot a three-dimensional part such as a pin with a normal lens, the image will look different at the center and edges. This is because the object is distorted by parallax. However, by using a telecentric lens, it is possible to read an accurate image without distortion. It is also used for dust and scratch inspection. This is because it is easy to find dust and scratches, as well as being able to prevent oversight due to parallax. By using a telecentric lens, it is possible to read the reflectance of light as a difference in contrast, and it is possible to detect fine dust and scratches.

Telecentric lens principle
Telecentric lenses are characterized by their main ray and optical axis being parallel, but they can be divided into three main types depending on how the lens is used.

Object-side telecentric lens
A lens is placed on the object side, and the main rays are parallel only on the object side. Even if the object moves back and forth, the size does not change and accurate measurement is possible. It is a type that can be set relatively small.
Image side telecentric lens
A lens is placed on the image side, and the main rays are parallel only on the image side. The size and dimensions of the image will change as the object moves back and forth. However, the advantage is that the brightness is uniform on the image plane.
Two- sided telecentric lens
Two lenses are used, and the main rays are parallel on both the object side and the image side. It is possible to measure accurately without changing the size even if the object moves back and forth, and it is more accurate than the object-side telecentric lens. However, the disadvantages are that it becomes large and the cost is high.

Disadvantages of telecentric lenses
The disadvantage of telecentric lenses is that they are more likely to have larger apertures. Since only light rays that are perpendicular to the CCD / CMOS element surface are imaged, the lens diameter suitable for that system depends on the element dimensions.

Also, if the imaging target is small, the lens diameter can be reduced accordingly, but the lens diameter must increase in correlation with the size of the target. Therefore, it is difficult to use a telecentric lens in a place where space is tight.

Also, it is not suitable for systems that perform rigid transformation of the camera using binocular parallax (for example, VR or AR). The reason is that depth information is lost. Since only parallel light is extracted, both the object in the back and the object in the foreground will be captured as an image at the same magnification.

This makes it unsuitable for 3D rigid transformation. Please note that the advantages can be disadvantages depending on how you use it.

Calibration of telecentric lens
One thing to note here is that telecentric lenses are not the ideal lenses.

The expression that there is no error means that the condition is close to the ideal because the error due to the angle of view can be reduced compared to a normal lens. For example, when focusing on distortion, it depends on the lens, so it cannot be said unconditionally, but it is common for optical distortion to occur at ± 0.5%.

Of course, the distortion level is still smaller than that of a normal lens. With a normal lens, ± 20% or more is roughly present. The difference in performance when focusing on one point of distortion is obvious.

Again, keep in mind that using a telecentric lens does not result in zero distortion. Of course, if an error of ± 0.5% does not affect performance, distortion correction is not necessary and it is an ideal lens for the system.

However, if this affects performance, it will require software or hardware distortion correction, just like regular lenses.
Graphics/Video Market / Cinema And Photo Lenses: The 7 Main Differences by rfremote: 4:01am On Sep 03, 2021
Film and photo lenses share some common characteristics, but they are two completely different worlds. If you want to get started in professional video and dabble in film, find out the differences between these two types of lenses in this article.

Not all lenses on the photo market are the same, even when we talk about one brand: their lenses have different focal lengths, different apertures, different sizes, different weights and a long list of qualities that make them specific or useful for one photo discipline rather than another. If you are confused by the many acronyms, values and inscriptions on lenses, don't miss this article. You will immediately understand them better!

If we talk about a lens with a focal length of 15 mm, for example, we are talking about a wide angle lens, suitable for landscape photography, while if we talk about a lens with a focal length of 500 mm, we are talking about a lens for photographing wildlife, for example

Before purchasing a lens, it is important to consider its characteristics to know if it will give you the results you are looking for. Don't forget to make sure that the lens in question is compatible with your camera.

But when it comes to cinema and photo lenses, these differences are even more pronounced. Cinema lenses have specific features to provide the highest resolution and quality video.

From photography to video
If you've been wanting to get into the world of video and filmmaking for a long time, here are a few articles that will help you get started in your professional career in the industry.

And those of you who are into photography know that there are specific lenses for film, even though at first glance they all seem the same. But nothing could be further from the truth: here are the main differences.

1. Iris opening
The aperture is indicated by the letter F on photo lenses. As explained in this introductory article, maximum aperture values such as f/1.4 or f/2.4 allow more light to pass through the sensor, while values such as f/22 or f/32 allow very little light to pass through.

The larger the aperture of the lens, the better the quality of the image, even in dimly lit areas or at night.

However, we never question the veracity of these values indicated by the major manufacturers in the sector.

The prestigious website DxOmark provides image quality ratings for cameras and lenses and according to their findings, the actual light transmission is lower than the values stated by the manufacturers.

But this is no longer a problem with cinema lenses.

In film and advertising, it is essential to know the exact light transmission because lenses from different manufacturers are used in the same production.

The T-value of a lens is more accurate because it determines the actual amount of light by a third. For example, if a DZOFILM cinema lens has an aperture of T3.0 (which is equivalent to f/2.8 in photography), you should know that this is the actual value.

2. Continuous aperture rings
One of the big differences between cinema and photo lenses is the aperture rings.

In the cinema, it is essential to avoid sudden changes in brightness in the scene, and taking into account that we usually work in manual mode in this sector, this would be almost impossible to do with a photo lens.

On photo lenses, the aperture rings move in thirds jumps or full stops, while on film and video lenses, the aperture ring takes a longer journey, resulting in smoother, more fluid movements for a professional transition.

3. Design and Construction
The external design and construction of film and photo lenses is one of the big differences. As we saw at the beginning of this article, in photography there are lots of lenses with very distinct characteristics, but in cinema, the external construction must have more or less standard lines.

Why is this so? If we think for a second about the equipment of a filmmaker, we imagine a big camera surrounded by lots of accessories, such as flashlights, microphones, stabilizers, a monitor...

The cinema lenses are not left out since they are supported by Follow-Focus systems for more delicate transitions, stabilization bars to avoid vibrations and even by a large Matte Box with folding flaps to avoid reflections on the image.

In cinema and in advertising, you can't afford to lose a single second, which is why the lenses generally have the same diameter, weight and design. Similarly, the focus ring will be located on the lens in very similar positions. The standardization of DZOFILM cinema lenses avoids the pitfall that changing one lens for another becomes a real odyssey. This way, no time is wasted in adjusting the accessories needed to work.

4. Internal zoom
Another big difference between film and photo lenses is the internal focus barrel. On photo lenses, the zoom is usually external and moves forward or backward. That being said, as we have seen in this article, lenses that do not stay fixed give more technical quality results.

Something similar happens with professional film and photo lenses. These lenses always have the same external design: their length does not vary, so that for the filmmaker it is easier to install filters and other accessories on them, while avoiding unwanted vibrations during the shooting.

5. Focal length breathing
Two new terms come into play here that you may not be familiar with, but which will quickly become terms of everyday use if you are completely immersed in the world of cinema. We are talking about varifocal and parafocal lenses.

Varifocal
We are generally referring here to photo lenses. When the focal length used is visibly changed and the focus also changes, the lens is said to "breathe".

Parifocal lenses
These are generally lenses for film and video. The internal construction of their lenses makes it possible to maintain the frame and especially the focus, even if the zoom is changed from a focal length of 18 mm to another of 200 mm.

6. Easy and intuitive to use
As we have seen above, the acronyms and nomenclature of photo lenses can be complex, sometimes even more so when we know that each manufacturer has its own terminology.

On cinema lenses, the inscriptions must be as simple and intuitive as possible because, as we have seen, we have to work quickly in cinema and advertising.

Since their design follows a standard, the cameraman will immediately know how to work with the lens. The controls for focus, iris and focal length are more precise and thorough. Most of them employ toothed rings that provide an unparalleled transition through the Follow-foucs system.

In addition, the information on the barrel is easily readable. In fact, it is usually written in large letters on both sides of the barrel for convenient operation even in low light conditions.

7. Durable construction on film and photo lenses
Finally, one of the big differences between film and photo lenses is their external construction.

It goes without saying that video lenses will withstand more extreme conditions than photo lenses. Although it is also true that more and more manufacturers are focusing on ultra-resistant photo lenses such as the Irix lenses with special dust and moisture shielding that even protects against water splashes.

A video lens must be able to withstand extreme climates, as it must allow extended shooting over several hours in polar temperatures or in the middle of a desert. And they must have a super resistant structure so that they don't fall off after a fall or a shock.
Education / 6 Considerable Tips To Prepare The CCNA Exam by rfremote: 7:00am On Jan 30, 2021
Regularly cited by recruiters and hiring managers as one of the most sought-after certifications in the IT industry, the CCNA is one of the most valuable certifications you can have on your resume. In addition, it is required for most higher level Cisco certifications such as SCCP and CCDP (and, by extension, CCIE). Obtaining the CCNA demonstrates that you have the ability to configure and support a range of Cisco network devices, as well as a solid general knowledge of networking, network security, and wireless networking, all of which are necessary to support the modern enterprise network.

But before you can become CCNA, you must pass the Cisco 200-301 exam, which is required for certification. The CCNA exam is challenging, and passing it certainly requires a lot of work and effort. But with the right focus and preparation, passing the CCNA exam is an achievable goal. To get you started, here are some tips to use in preparing for your CCNA exam.

Establish a curriculum
The first order of business should be to define the direction of your individual study. Cisco offers a program for CCNA certification, with a list of topics to be covered. Review this list, print and publish it, and use it as a guide in the development of your personal study program. Remember, if it's not on the program, it's not on the exam, so limit your studies to the topics that Cisco highlights.

Identify your weaknesses
A good next step is to identify the areas in which you are weakest (hint: try a practice exam to help you identify these areas) and make them the focus of your study and practice. Highlight these areas and set a specific goal to fully understand each one. Don't necessarily overlook your strengths completely (you don't want to forget what you've already learned!), but by turning your weaknesses into strengths, you can greatly increase your chances of passing the CCNA test.

Take the time to study
The CCNA is not an easy exam to pass, and it covers many areas. And, like any technical discipline, if you don't work consistently, your knowledge and skills will fade away. Set aside regular, consistent study time and make sure you stick to it. Of course, it can be difficult to keep that time blocked, especially with all the daily responsibilities and distractions we all face. But the key to successful CCNA is frequent and consistent study and practice, so it is essential that you set this time aside, limit your distractions, and stick to the task at hand.

Focus on the details
It is not enough to know the theory behind the concepts presented in the CCNA program. To pass the CCNA test, you need to know how to perform tasks and understand how things are done in the world of Cisco. This is important because general networking concepts and the way Cisco does things are not always the same. Therefore, it is important to understand the details and the specific methods and procedures for implementing different networking technologies in the Cisco environment.

Practice all exam topics
Once your practice environment is up and running, make sure you take full advantage of it and practice implementing all possible protocols and configurations to see how everything works on the real equipment. Remember that things in real life don't always work the way they do "on paper", and just because a book or guide tells you that a given configuration will produce a given result, nothing beats seeing it for yourself, especially on these. (Fortunately rare) occasions when books are wrong.

The key to passing the CCNA test is preparation and a lot of it. To pass the test, you must understand network theory, facts, and practice, and be able to use the Cisco IOS interface easily, including specific commands and syntax. But, if you take the time to really learn the hardware and become familiar with Cisco routers and switches beforehand, you should find the test relatively easy to pass.

Access the equipment
This point cannot be stressed enough. A large part of the CCNA exam consists of performing tasks on simulated routers and switches, just as you would do in real life. That's why it's essential that you have practice time (preferably a batch of it) on Cisco equipment so that you can implement what you're studying in the current Cisco IOS environment. You can purchase or rent preconfigured sets of real Cisco routers and switches that contain all the equipment you will need to practice the exam, and these sets are not as expensive as you might think.
Video Games And Gadgets For Sale / Compare 3 Xiaomi temperature sensors by rfremote: 12:10pm On Oct 16, 2018
The manufacturer Xiaomi offers a very wide range of products, and for several years now there have been a good number of connected objects on the market dedicated to home automation in order to create a connected house easily. As usual, Xiaomi offers products with a very attractive price/quality ratio.

In this article, I will introduce you to the different Xiaomi temperature sensors, it should be noted that they also include moisture measurement (hygrometry). The article will be limited to essential information.

The Xiaomi Aqara sensor
Let's start with the Aqara temperature humidity sensor, a member of the Xiaomi Aqara family, this is the most compact model offered by Aqara (3.60 x 3.60 x 0.90 cm). It is a pure probe that has no interest alone since it does not have a display unlike the other models.

To retrieve the values (temperature and humidity) you will need to use the Xiaomi application after associating the sensor with your account. Afterwards, you can easily include this sensor in your home automation solution, like Jeedom.

The connection is of course wireless and is based on the ZigBee protocol, perfectly managed by the Xiaomi gateway, which I will tell you about in the conclusion. The back of the sensor has an adhesive part so that the sensor can be glued where you want it.

Concerning the measurement, here is the information about the supported range and accuracy:

- Temperature detection range: -20 - 60 °C (+/- 0.3 °C)
- Humidity detection range: 0 - 100% (+/- 0.3%)
- Atmospheric pressure detection range: 30 - 110 KPa (+/- 120 Pa)

Reading the above information, you will notice that the probe also measures atmospheric pressure. It is the only Xiaomi probe to retrieve this information. The resistance offered by this sensor and its format offers an interesting resistance, so that we can consider installing one outdoors (a minimum sheltered despite everything in relation to the lifetime).

Finally, given the fineness and size of the probe, it is powered by a CR2032 button cell battery (supplied), the duration of which is estimated at 1 year (standard estimated duration for Xiaomi probes).

The Xiaomi Mijia sensor (YWSDCGQ/01ZM)
Let's now move on to the Xiaomi Mijia sensor (ref. YWSDCGQ/01ZM): equipped with a display, I must admit that I like its design because beyond the fact that it is a connected sensor, we can also know the temperature and humidity level by looking at the sensor. On a daily basis, it's a big plus.

The sensor comes in two parts: a base that you can stick to the wall, and the probe that can be detached from the base, especially to change the battery, and which is positioned there with a magnet. I find it design and pretty enough, pretty enough to highlight it on a wall or piece of furniture.

In terms of dimensions, we are on a probe twice as large as the model seen above: 6.08 x 6.08 x 6.08 x 2.25 cm - including the thickness. It should be noted that the sensor is powered by an AAA battery that can be easily changed and has the advantage of being inexpensive.

Here is the information about the supported range and accuracy:

- Temperature detection range: -9.9 - 60 °C (+/- 0.1 °C)
- Humidity detection range: 0 - 99.9% (+/- 0.1%)

The accuracy is better than the first sensor but the range is smaller at the maximum negative temperature.

This probe does not communicate with the Zigbee protocol, its communication mode is BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) which implies having a Bluetooth gateway. Either from Xiaomi, or with your Jeedom box equipped with a Bluetooth chip and the BLEA plug-in, or know that some Xiaomi products like the Xiaomi Philips Zhirui lamp play this role of BLE gateway. By combining Bluetooth antennas, they can act as relays and thus provide a very interesting range.

The Xiaomi Mijia sensor (MHO-C201)
Finally, I will talk to you about a third sensor: the Xiaomi Mijia (MHO-C201), which I have never had the opportunity to test but which is similar to the other sensor in the Mijia range. In the same price range as the BLE probe, it does not offer any connectivity according to its technical data sheet on the different sites. This is surprising and above all trivializes it as an autonomous probe.

In terms of dimensions, the probe has the size of the other Mijia probe but with the thickness of the Aqara probe, which implies the use of a CR2032 button cell and gives the following dimensions: 6.45 x 6.45 x 0.90 cm.

At the installation level, either you can glue it or put it on its base where it will be held in a vertical position, it is good news if you want to put it on a piece of furniture. You can also place it on your refrigerator because there is a sticker with a magnetic surface provided in the box.

Here is the information about the supported range and accuracy:

- Temperature detection range: 0 - 60 °C (+/- 0.3 °C)
- Humidity detection range: 0 - 100% (+/- 3%)

This model offers the narrowest ranges and there is a lack of accuracy on the humidity level: 3%, compared to 0.1% and 0.3% for the other two sensors.

On the E-ink screen, above the humidity level, a smiley screen with 6 different expressions will appear to indicate whether the room atmosphere is comfortable or not. The goal being of course to make him smile!

Conclusion
To use these different sensors (except the last one), it will be necessary to acquire the basic equipment: the Xiaomi gateway. The classic Xiaomi gateway will be compatible with both Aqara and Mijia sensors, while the Aqara gateway will have a unique compatibility with connected Aqara objects and offers Homekit compatibility.

You can bypass the use of the Xiaomi gateway, but this implies having a home automation box equipped with the right antennas, for example being able to communicate in Zigbee to drive the Xiaomi Aqara sensor.

As for prices, they vary according to the promotions of the moment, count less than 15 euros each (regardless of the model). A price that can drop below 10 euros from time to time for the Xiaomi Aqara sensor.

In fact, depending on the uses and rooms where you want to put Xiaomi probes, I think it is necessary to mix between the Xiaomi Aqara probe (Zigbee) and the Xiaomi Mijia probe (ref. YWSDCGQ/01ZM - Bluetooth). It may be relevant to have a probe with a screen in the kitchen and have a single probe in the garage, for example.

What is home automation?

At a time when the market for connected objects is exploding, the world of home automation and electronics is made up of regular innovations

Derived from the Latin Domus (home) this innovative technology is a contraction of the terms "domus" and "computer"

Home automation includes all the electronic, computer and telecommunications techniques and technologies used to automate and improve tasks in a home, thus providing considerable comfort gains in lighting, energy, heating, water, openings and closures (blinds, garage doors, etc.)

We can talk about connected objects, in the service of the passenger compartment.

What is home automation for?

A specific project corresponds to each need

Indeed, it can be programmed according to the installations for which it wishes to have a simplified management

Home automation has no real limits, everything can become automated thanks to this innovation.

These tasks can be related to comfort (lighting, automation of household tasks, etc.), energy savings (heating management, consumption analysis, etc.) or safety (smoke detectors, alarms, video surveillance, etc.).

Thanks to sensors integrated into the heart of the house, it becomes communicating

Every action, expenditure, consumption can be monitored: - the lights that are on - the temperature in each room - the state of openings (doors, windows...) - the rooms occupied - etc....

From these observations, it is possible to act on control modules: - on/off of a light - on/off of heating - on/off of an electrical appliance - etc....

Each action can also be controlled automatically, for example at fixed times, or with control radio modules (remote controls, touch screens, Smartphone...) Home automation improves daily life by facilitating certain tasks and by integrating today's technologies directly into the center of the house.

How does home automation work?

There are several technologies used in home automation. The principle of each of them is to have the equipment communicate with each other. For example: a sensor indicates that the living room window is open. The radiator in the living room is then automatically switched off after 30 seconds to avoid unnecessary heating.

Among all these technologies, we can distinguish three main types: - Powerline technology (this technology uses the existing EDF network, and thus makes it possible to do the minimum work in the house.) e.g.: CPL

Technology by radio wave (the elements communicate with each other by radio waves: wifi, bluetooth, 433Mhz...) - Proprietary wired technology (CAN bus, 1-wire bus...)

Although home automation is in full development, it remains very expensive today and requires a certain confidence on the part of the user

Nevertheless, the sales arguments remain convincing: significant energy savings, total control of the cabin and a real deterrent for thieves

Program your lights to turn on at night, when there is no one there: guaranteed deterrence.

Programming / Video Surveillance: Towards A High-tech, Useful And Efficient Trend by rfremote: 4:30am On Mar 22, 2018
In just a few years, the video surveillance sector has undergone major and notable changes. Focus on the constant evolution affecting this sector.

Video surveillance: from analogue to hybrid cameras today
The year 2014 marks a great revolution in the field of video surveillance, as it marks the end of the era of analog cameras. Indeed, with the arrival of recorders and HD cameras with coaxial cables, analog cameras have largely lost ground in the video surveillance market.

As for 2015, hybrid recorders will have appeared that can read both analog cameras and HD cameras in their respective resolutions, i.e. in D1, 930H, 720 P and 1080 P formats.

As far as 2016 is concerned, it continues the trend of hybridization, but this time it affects surveillance cameras. We are witnessing the arrival of 4-in-1 cameras that adapt to existing technologies, namely analog, HDCVI, AHD and HDTVI.

Future trends in the video surveillance sector
Currently, HD cameras in 1080P resolution with 2Mp are gaining the largest market share in the video surveillance sector at the expense of HD cameras in 720P resolution with 1 MP. But in the near future, cameras using "4K Ultra HD" technology will certainly become the dominant equipment in the sector thanks to their ability to provide optimized images as well as wider coverage. And for good reason, it is innovations that can offer better image quality for advanced video applications that will always be preferred in the security field.

On a larger scale, video surveillance rf remote control systems in SaaS mode (VsaaS) are also very promising, especially if coupled to a cloud computing system.

Programming / Why motorize your roller shutters? by rfremote: 4:17am On Mar 22, 2018
Cranks, cords, straps... these manual mechanisms are increasingly giving way to electric mechanisms: motorised roller shutters. For many homeowners, the motorization of a roller shutter is as beneficial an expense as it is necessary. Discover in this article the interest of motorizing a roller shutter.

Motorization of roller shutters: what use?

The motorization of roller shutters has many advantages. First of all, it helps to reinforce the protective measures of your home. A motorized roller shutter remote control is not only much more robust, but also difficult to lift once the system is locked.

Thus, during a theft, a burglary or an attempted intrusion, motorized steering wheels save you considerable time to take the necessary measures: trigger an alarm, call for help, take refuge...

Secondly, aesthetics and comfort are among the main reasons to motorize a roller shutter. Available in several brands, types, ranges... roller shutters represent an effective insulator. By motorizing your roller shutters, you will have the privilege to regulate at will, without any effort, the brightness and temperature within your home, and to prevent noise and outside looks from entering your home.

Finally, the roller shutter motor allows you to live in the air of the times. This is of great interest as technology continues to evolve and provide the means to live better. Today, it is possible to activate roller shutter automation via your computer, mobile phone, tablet, etc., wherever you are. Also, in addition to the reasons of safety, comfort and aesthetics, motorized roller shutters are much more practical.

Roller shutter motorization: what are the options?

Various possibilities are offered to you in terms of motorization of roller shutters whatever their material and their type of installation.

Indeed, you may have roller shutters with integrated box, with tunnel or traditional box. In all cases, it is important to hire a professional to properly install the engine of your choice. As for the roller shutter material, it does not prevent the motorization. Whether it is made of aluminum, wood or PVC, motorization is always possible.

In general, two types of motors are used to motor roller shutters: a wired motor and a radio motor. A wired motor is a system directly connected to the electrical installation in your home. The opening and closing automatism is activated by a wall switch. In addition, the radio motor is a wireless system. It is connected to a radio frequency remote control. This type of motor allows you to open or close one or more roller shutters at the same time using a remote control.

On the market, other options can be proposed to you such as a motor running on solar energy, or an automatism being activated using a computer, a mobile phone or a tablet.
