A former Inspector-General of Police and Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Mr. Mike Okiro, was on Thursday in Abuja quizzed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission over an alleged N275m fraud. The PUNCH learnt that the ex-IGP arrived the ICPC at 9:51am, accompanied by three other officers of the PSC and went straight into the investigation department of the commission. When one of our correspondents contacted Okiro on the telephone, he did not respond to calls. He also did not reply a text message that was sent to his telephone. In the SMS sent to him, he was asked to respond to the report that the ICPC quizzed him on Thursday over an alleged N275m fraud. When he got to the ICPC, the former IGP was dressed in ash coloured Niger Delta attire with a cap to match. He came in a convoy of a black Toyota Land Cruiser Jeep, with registration No: T98 01 FG (PSC) and black Toyota Camry, marked T98 12 FG (PSC). Okiro was accompanied by three PSC officers. His interrogation was sequel to a petition by a member of staff of the PSC, Aaron Kaase, to the ICPC, claiming that Okiro allegedly siphoned N275m out of the N350m that was obtained by the commission from the Office of the National Security Adviser to train PSC staff. PSC staff were scheduled to partake in the monitoring of the conduct of men and officers of the Nigeria Police in the last general elections. In his petition, Kaase alleged that Okiro had made bogus claims to train highly inflated number of his commission’s staff in Lagos, Abuja and Kano. According to him, the trainings were roughly carried out to a few staff in Mararaba, a satellite community of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. He also alleged that Okiro and others claimed some millions of naira for separate overseas trainings, which they never attended. The petitioner had said that Okiro and others allegedly siphoned the said amount, claiming they would train 500 staff in Abuja; 200 in Lagos and another 200 in Kano, when the combined staff strength of the commission nationwide was not more than 400. Kaase also stated that in Kano where 200 members of staff were said to be trained, the staff strength was merely 10 |
5 things that makes your Breast sags Most women experience a sagging or dropping breast at some points in their lives. This is a natural and inevitable process. Women are often bothered when they breasts begin to sag as they feel it makes them unattractive. A lot of things can contribute to premature sagging of the breast and some have to do with your behavior. So, if you avoid these behaviours, your breasts will be better off. 1. Smoking: Even your breasts can’t escape the damage cigarettes do. Smoking breaks down elastin, the protein fibers in skin that lend it firmness and elasticity. Smoking also damages breast skin the same way it does the face, depriving it of oxygen and nutrients. 2. Wearing the wrong bra size: A good-fitting bra keeps your breasts in shape and enhances their appearance. If you’re going to wear a bra, it’s important to make sure it fits correctly because wearing an ill-fitting bra might cause extra sagging. Some women are wearing the wrong size bra. Stop in a lingerie shop and ask for a fitting just to make sure you’re wearing the right bra for your shape so you can make sure your bras aren’t doing you more harm than good. It’s also important to remember to replace old bras before they lose their support, too. 3. Weight Fluctuation:Weight fluctuation is a big factor when it comes to sagging boobs. Each time you gain and lose weight, breast tissue slacks more. An unhealthy diet can cause stretching of the breast tissue. Weight gain from an unhealthy diet rather than weight gain from muscle-building exercise can result in stretching of the breast tissue. 4. High-Impact Workouts: Running, biking, playing sports and doing any other exercise causes your breasts to bounce. If you do it often enough without wearing a good sports bra, they may sag prematurely. A sports bra should contain your breasts securely against your chest so that bouncing is kept to a minimum. 5.Skipping Sunscreen: Sunburn is never fun, UV rays hitting the sensitive underside of your breasts encourages serious drooping later on in life. Exposing your breasts to UV rays without a protective coating of sunscreen can stretch out the collagen and damage the skin. |

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Environment, Bukola Saraki, has advised members of the National Assembly to pay less attention to politics or politicking and focus on nation building. While speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, Senator Saraki highlighted building capacity to help President Muhammadu Buhari, achieve all he has promised Nigerians as an important role to take seriously. The National Assembly had just passed 26 bills into law and Saraki believes that there should be priority bills that should be passed amongst the 26 bills that were just passed. He added that as a lawmaker, the bills that would be passed should add developmental value in the interest of both the PDP and the APC to help move the country forward. On reports making the rounds that there are certain criteria for the election of Senate President and House of Reps Speaker, Sen. Saraki said that there is need for such criteria, because merit is important to be able to build and govern the members of the House to work in the right direction. Senator Saraki also expressed optimism that President Buhari would give the right direction to revamp the country and the new administration will fill the gap of leadership and strong will that was lacking before. |
Senate President, David Mark, in Abuja on Wednesday, said he joined politics in order to serve God and humanity. Mark said this at a thanksgiving service organised in his honour by Christian Legislators Fellowship International, National Assembly. He added that through the prayers of the people, God saw him through the years and ascribed his achievements from the military era to the present dispensation to God’s grace. He recalled that the Senate had five presidents between 1999 and 2007 but he remained president for a period of eight years, from 2007 to 2015. He said “I joined politics to serve not only humanity but to serve God; I chose to be a team player in order to carry the senators along and I call each of the senators my boss. “People of God, I cherish your prayers so much; it is not yet over until it is over by God so continue to pray for me.’’ In his remark, the Deputy Chaplain to the President of the Senate, Rev. Vincent Asuquo, described Mark as a focused man who relied on God for guidance. Asuquo said “Mark was a very focused officer when he was in the military. By the time he became Major, those who appointed him as Chairman of Abandoned Property saw that quality in him as young as he was. “His comportment, spirit of statesmanship, team spirit, a very humble personality are the attributes God anoints a personality with as leader and Mark has them all. “He is a bridge builder and not given to arrogance, neither does he claim to know it all. When a personality has such attributes, the sky is the limit of his ascendancy in his career.’’ He advised whoever emerged the Senate President in the 8th Assembly to examine himself or herself and be prepared to learn from the mistakes and the successes of the past assembly. Also, Pastor Pertru Okebugwu, Senior Pastor, Ark International Christian Centre, Gwarinpa, Abuja, who led the prayer of intercession during the service, described Mark as a man that feared God. “It only takes a man that has access to the spirit of wisdom to be able to do in eight years, what five persons had to do. It takes an uncommon display of God’s wisdom and grace to achieve that. “What I will advise is for the 8th National Assembly to apply the same principle Mark displayed to achieve so much feat as President of the Senate. “He knows how to rally people together and that is a great attribute that must be emulated.’’ In his comments, the Chairman of the fellowship, Sen. Ita Enang (APC- Akwa Ibom North-East), urged members of the fellowship to continue to pray for the leadership of the 8th National Assembly. Enang said that though the 7th Assembly was bowing out, the fellowship should not relent in its meetings and prayers. |
Some immediate past ministers must go to prison, Gbagi tells Buhari ABUJA- FORMER Minister of State for Education, Kenneth Gbagi yesterday accused some immediate past ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria massively enriched themselves while in office, asking President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure that they go to prison after probing them. According to him, the kind of money in the hands of some persons in Nigeria was enough to plung the country into war in the next ten years, adding that the money must be returned by these persons for the provision of infrastructure. Speaking with Vanguard, Gbagi who urged President Buhari not to spare any rod in his anti- corruption crusade, stressed that the President must be decisive if he must succeed in taking Nigeria to the promised land. According to him, some very powerful ministers did not have respect for the nation’s local currency as they operated throughout in office in dollars, thereby turning the country into a dollar economy, adding that two powerful ministers in the immediate past Administration must go to prison and be made to return the over 100 trillion tax payers money stocked away in other countries, institutions and agencies. He said , ” President Muhammadu Buhari must be decisive if Nigeria must succeed as 2016 must be seen as a year when Nigerians enjoyed democracy. He should ensure that no rod is spared. Buhari has no right to grant pardon to anyone that has committed crime against the country because he is not a court. We hear that there are negotiations to grant pardon to some persons, everyone should be made accountable, there should be no negotiation. He will loose respect from Nigerians within six months if he does not ask all those people to vomit the money. ” The kind of money in the hands of some persons in Nigeria can put the country in war in the next ten years, he should follow them, no matter who you are, you to to jail. You cannot be wealthy in England, Germany, others without showing how you got it. Some one in Nigeria may have only a car, no house before becoming a governor, a minister, Special Adviser, others, but when he is elected or appointed, once he leaves office, he becomes a billionaire and will start intimidating, harassing the people.” |

Here are some of the things I hate the most about Nigerian music videos. 1) Most of the videos have no theme or concept/ storyline at all. It’s like just watching people mime their songs to a camera. 2) A word of advice to the newer artists: TAKE OFF THE SUNGLASSES!!! You are new. We need to see your face. Not only that but sunglasses are made for outdoors. There is no sun indoors. It just looks plain silly. 3) Women with guts are not supposed to wear mid-drifts. It’s offensive to my eyes. In fact it is offensive to my entire being. 4) Your whole “crew”, your mother, father, brothers and sisters don’t need to be in all your videos. Not everybody has a face meant for TV. 5) The shining effect that makes “bling bling” look like it’s actually that shiny just proves that it’s not real. 6) Zooming into womens behinds and bosom area is just disgusting. 7) Stop making us watch the same video over and over again: ie Come up with something other than girls shaking behinds, guys flashing bling and alcohol and displays of cars. What is this new trend of not using Nigerian girls in videos? I’ve seen a lot of South African and Latino girls in Nigerian videos lately. Are there no more women in Nigeria? It’s like they are saying Nigerian women, particularly dark skinned ladies aren’t good enough. If we don’t appreciate ourselves it’s no wonder no one else does. 9) Last but no the least, the scenes with the expensive alcohol and fake dollars on the table is over played and looks really lame. 10. What is this nonsense trend of dancing with a red coloured plastic cup of vodka in these music videos? Olamide, Iceprince and co, stop that nonsense jare. 11. Showing off your borrowed rides(cars). 12. If you want to sing, just go straight to the point and disappear so we could listen to the next nonsense. Don’t spend the first two minutes of your song asking us silly questions like, “Yo yo yeah, you know how we do it? you know I’m back again?.” No, I dont know how you do it and you never left. I watched one of your silly songs yesterday. 13. Why does KC dresses like a Behind spare parts dealer. Dude be looking like a christmas tree. I like his new ride though. Let’s hope he doesn’t turn up in a golden suit one of these days. 14. “The way she dey wind her waist for the club dey make me go gaga. I never see that kind of yansh before” So if these musicians don’t add these line to their lyrics, the song will be not be sweet eh?? 15. Psquare and Iceprince need to stop dressing like they are going out for Interhouse Sports competition. Calm down with the astronaut clothes and oversized shoes. 16. Video vixens need to stop acting like an earthworm that emerged from a salt solution pool. All that unnecessary ‘touchtouch’ and ‘curlcurl’ is not sexy at all. We are okay with unrealistic scenes like moving around the beach on high heels. 17. What’s the meaning of “aye yeh ye h?” No subs intended. LoL I should stop here before they arrest me. You can add. For more you could visit. rhapsodiaffos..com |
