Between 1999-2015, Nigeria was more or less one party State with a dominant PDP and several smaller parties that couldn't win presidential elections, so political decisions taken at Wadata Plaza of the PDP only needed 'elections' to formalize it. Any presidential candidate chosen by the then PDP was bound to win.

All these changed with the formaltion of an alternative viable party, the APC which eventually defeated the PDP in 2015.

Now, each political party has to consider it's own survival/possiblility of defeat in its zoning arrangements.

That is why the south + the middle belt can give us an igbo president, we only need 25% votes of the core northern states

The only reason the PDP is opposed to the SE ticket is because you aren't active in the presidential race.


The S/West is NOT the reason why your beloved PDP doesn't even consider you worthy enough for the ticket is because of you didn't present your candidates as formidable enough to win.


Even Gov Yahayah Bello , irrespective of his poor scores in Kogi State is making stronger moves for the presidency than Peter Obi, Orji Kalu or Okorocha.

If we can maintain the part in bold, there won’t be a divided south. All southerners in PDP should work for the emergence of a SE candidate because of the popularity of the party in the region while all southerners in APC should ensure any region from the south gets the ticket. That way, we can have an all south contest and achieve our aim of a southern president in 2023.

Sadly however, the same folks who need the presidency the most are not showing any interest in the PDP ticket. They are standing by and watching as Northern elements in the party are doing everything to zone the ticket to the North. Not even one SE PDP leader is complaining. Not even the usual anti-Fulani Abaribe. Instead, they are on social media trying to blackmail the south west not to contest for APC ticket. How’s is that a logical strategy?

It is logical because the SW has been in govt for 16yrs now since 1999

We can all step down for a south east candidate the way we (southern candidates) stepped down for Yaradua in 2007

It is called "gentleman's agreement" just for the sake of equity and justice
