TeeVo Devotional 28th June – Power, Love, Soundness

(God Made You Powerful, Loving, And Of A Sound Mind)

TO THE BIBLE: 2 Timothy 1:7
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

LET’S TALK
As Christians, we have an extraordinary amplitude of comprehension because the wisdom of God is in our spirits. Our minds are anointed to produce excellence. We’ve also been anointed with the Holy Spirit and with power, and the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts (Romans 5:5). All these are by the Holy Spirit. He has made you powerful, loving and sound. What an excellent life!

Just as the global pandemic 'coronavirus' continues to spread, there is fear and trepidation in the air among real estate community, especially as travel and other economic activity have slowed or stopped.

Leading real estate experts speculate that there might be declining interest from home buyers as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.

According to them, coronavirus will take out a group of buyers – those adopting a wait-and-see approach or those simply unable to buy due to reduced income. But there’s another group of buyers: those who are in jobs but who face uncertainty about how coronavirus will affect their pay or whether they will keep their job at all.

The Nigerian property market has been weak for some time, and rents have fallen fairly drastically in major cities such as Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt for quite a while now. There appear to sign it could be stabilising but pandemic threatens that notion.

Some areas in Lagos market have been strong and the vacancy rates are very low but there’s no doubt coronavirus will increase caution among many buyers and encourage a lot of sellers to defer transactions.

Specifically, industry watchers say that except the government takes necessary steps to strengthen the economy, the pandemic will push the Nigerian economy into another recession.

Property includes lands and houses both commercial and residential. Even intellectual property is a type of property.

Land value appreciation means increase in the value of the plot(s) of land over a period of time due to the changes in economic conditions and prevailing market conditions etc, in a given area.

For example, when land was purchased, it may have been outstide the city limits and subsequently city limits were extended and value of the land goes up. The land owner hasn't contributed anything for increase in value of his land to happen except buying it in the first place.

One of the best places to buy land in the whole world, in fact the best place to buy land in the whole world, in terms of value is right here in Lagos Nigeria. The most expensive land in the world is right here in Ikoyi and Banana Island...

That’s not conjecture, that’s fact, economic fact. Lagos is growing by 6000 people daily, that is nearly 2 million people every year. It means Land is becoming scarce, that is, if you buy land today, tomorrow your land will be worth very much money.

You may not be able to afford Banana Island or Ikoyi right now, but please go and buy land somewhere quickly because God transfers wealth by giving you land.

After a period of time after you’ve bought the land, He increases the value of the land, because you being on that land adds value to it, as a result, more people want to come.

Anytime there is a major wealth transfer in the Bible, He gives the people He’s transferring wealth to, land. You have nothing in terrestrial terms unless you have land.

Are you or anyone you know strugling with?
Premature ejaculation (can’t last long enough),
Erectile dysfunction (weak erections),
Low libido (little or no urge to have sex).
Then you are on the right Page, just be patient and read to the end.

HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW…

1. Stress and over-work: Are the most common causes of a reduced sex drive. Avoid caffeine, cigarettes, alcohol and above all, try to relax and switch off.
2. Poor diet: If you’re not getting enough vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids hormone imbalances may arise and have a big effect on your sex drive.
3. Being overweight: Can cause sluggishness, low energy levels, a diminished libido and low self esteem. Consuming too many carbohydrates raises serotonin which will further lower your sex drive.
4. Excessive alcohol: Reduces testosterone production. Extreme long term abuse can cause impotence, shrunken penis.
5. Sitting in a position for a long time daily: Men who sit for a long time every day struggle with erection dysfunction.

Premature ejaculation and weak erection affected me for years, and almost destroyed my marriage before my wife discovered this permanent solution through her friend.
After our wedding, my wife had a very strong desire for us to have a satisfying intimacy. However, this was not going to be due to my premature ejaculation and weak erection. I thought that things will improve over time but instead the situation got terribly bad. It was so embarassing that i became very disappointed in myself that we were not experiencing satisfying intimacy, especially during our honeymoon, though we still gave each other sensual pleasure through caressing, massaging and hugging.
My wife did everything she knew to reassure me that this situation will in no way diminishes her love for me and faith in our marriage. I felt so ashamed of myself especially because my wife is so beautiful and so caring. My doubts about my ability to satisfy her started to affect how I approached romance and I struggled to find ways to cope.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).

There’re certain truths about the new creation which, as Christians, we must be conscious of and live by.

These are not promises but established truths in God’s Word—present hour realities. One of such is our opening verse above.

When you received Christ into your life, you became a new creation. “If any man be in Christ, he ‘is’ a new creation.” “Is” is a “now” word—a present-hour reality!

Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light (Colossians 1:12).

Christians who haven’t learnt the value of thanksgiving have so many blessings elude them.

Rather than complain and lament to God about your life or situation, you’re to be thankful to Him for qualifying you to be a partaker of the inheritance of the saints in light.

Many are not thankful because they only think about what they’re going through, their lack and needs, instead of ...

Train me, GOD, to walk straight; then I’ll follow your true path. Put me together, one heart and mind; then, undivided, I’ll worship in joyful fear (Psalms 86:11 MSG).

When you want to chart a new course, create new vistas, attain a new level of prosperity, or set new goals for growth, you have to learn to use your mind.

Your mind is a tool that can be disciplined. You can teach it to focus in one direction, instead of vacillating in thoughts. This way, you’ll be able to use your mind to prepare your heart to accomplish greater things.

Isaiah 26:3 says, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”

Do not conform yourselves to the standards of this world, but let God transform you inwardly by a complete change of your mind.

Then you will be able to know the will of God-what is good and is pleasing to him and is perfect (Romans 12:2 GNB).

Often times you find people who allow their good character to be corrupted or negatively influenced by the bad behaviour or ill-treatment they receive from others.

For instance, someone could decide to stop greeting a neighbour or a colleague, because each time he greets that neighbour or colleague, he or she doesn’t answer.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3).

The purpose of prayer isn’t for us to get God to do something for us. In fact, did you know your heavenly Father doesn’t want you asking for things?

Someone who finds this surprising could be wondering, But Jesus said, “Ask and it shall be given you” (Matthew 7:7, Luke 11:9).

Yes, He did say that, but that was before the emergence of the new creation. “Ask and it shall be given you” was His teaching on faith and confidence in the Lord before His vicarious death, burial, resurrection and subsequent ascension to the Father to inherit all things in our behalf.

And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God (Ephesians 3:19).

I want you to observe the Apostle Paul’s choice of words carefully; he said, “And to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge….”

How can you know something that surpasses knowledge? Here, he distinguishes between two kinds of knowledge: revelation knowledge and scientific knowledge.

The word translated “know” above is “ginosko,” which means knowledge by revelation.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, (Galatians 5:22)

Often times, when people aren’t happy or excited about themselves or about life, it’s for one simple reason: they’ve ignored the Word of God.

Your happiness as a Christian isn’t dependent on your circumstances or situation.

Happiness is one of the results of joyfulness, and joyfulness is a fruit of your recreated human spirit, nourished through the Word of God.

Your joy is like fire;

There are believers who’re averse to medicine; they wrongly assume that for a Christian to take any kind of medication is an indication of a lack of faith.

Meanwhile, God is not averse to the use of medication; that a Christian uses medication doesn’t mean he lacks faith or that he’s done something wrong.

In the Old Testament, God gave the priests medical instructions for the people. (Ezekiel 47:12).

In this particular instance the prophet alludes to medicine, he says, “…the leaf thereof for medicine.”

In your pursuit to render service, you should be excellent in your delivery, being conscious of the Lord’s admonition in Matthew 25:45. Whatever you do for people to make their lives easier and more comfortable is unto the Lord.

Therefore, it’s a great disservice to others when your acts of service which should benefit them, are rendered shabbily.

Understand that whatever service you render to bring succour to others is a seed sown. Galatians 6:7 tells us “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”

It’s like the story of a man who entrusted a building project which he had sufficiently financed to his son-in-law. On completion, he excitedly asked the son-in-law if the house was top notch...

“Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow (1 Peter 1:10-11)”.

Luke 24:46-47 says, “…Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.”

The crucifixion of Christ was necessary for the salvation of man; salvation couldn’t have been accomplished otherwise.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1).

To believe is to act your faith; believing is the action of faith. Faith itself is the response of the human spirit to the Word of God, and that response is evidence.

When you act your faith (believe), you receive and it’s endorsed; you no longer require further evidence.

It’s like the judgment that’s given in a court of law on the basis of evidence produced.

Once the judgment is passed, you don’t have to come again with further evidence; the evidence has been accepted and that’s why the judgment was made.

Likewise, when you believe, you’ve judged whatever it is that you’ve believed to be true, and as a result...

To me, it's just a matter of convenience. Also with the tablets, you can have access to many translations of the Bible at any given time, thus enriching your knowledge and broadening your understanding of God's Word.

Many people retire from work and spend all their evening days reading newspaper and rocking on a chair.

Some young people spend their time leafing through the pages of magazines and books that don’t add any value to their lives.

You can become more excellent than you are right now by adding some value to your life. Start by learning something new.

Some people today are out of jobs because their skills have become obsolete; their specialization is not needed anymore.

One attribute of our heavenly Father that many tend to overlook is His simplicity.

Yes, He’s all-powerful, He’s awesome; He’s wonderful, but yet very simple. Religious people try to make Him appear difficult and unreachable.

In the Old Testament, they kept Him between burning candles, behind the veil. Religious Christianity portrays Him as a stern warrior, an unapproachable “consuming fire.”

But that’s not the kind of God He is. He’s loving, gracious and compassionate.
