Christianity Etc › Faith Is A Positive Force by richmekus(op): 3:42pm On Jul 16, 2018
There are forces that operate in the world that cause people to do the things they do.

Hate, fear, unbelief, doubt, discouragement, envy, and jealousy are all negative and destructive forces that influence people to act wrongly.

Some of the most heinous atrocities carried out by men were motivated by envy, jealousy, fear, and lust.

Correspondingly, in the Kingdom of God, there’re forces too, such as faith, righteousness, love, and wisdom. And until you understand faith as a force, you may never be able to grow prevailing faith.

Christianity Etc › Don’t Offend In Words! by richmekus(op): 9:48am On Jul 12, 2018
For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. (James 3:2)

One of the many things the Holy Spirit helps you do is to make your communication gracious.

The Christian whose communication isn’t tamed and who offends in words is a spiritual babe.

It doesn’t matter for how long you may have been talking in tongues or the position you occupy in church, if your tongue hasn’t been tamed, your fellowship with the Holy Spirit is still at a childhood stage.

Some Christians often wonder why they’re not effective in their spiritual life?

Health › 4 Reasons Why You Need A Little Extra Sunlight. by richmekus(op): 4:22pm On Jul 06, 2018
These days, medical experts, dermatologists, beauticians and a host of other professionals warn against exposure to sunlight as the ultraviolet rays (UVR) from the sun have harmful effects on your skin.

Consequently, many now have a high phobia of the sun and all outdoor activities.

While some of the rays from the sun may be harmful to some extent, the sun, nevertheless, is a natural resource, and daily exposure to sunlight for specific periods is beneficial to your health generally.

Let’s look at a few major health benefits of sunlight:

1. Sunlight Boosts Vitamin D
Unlike most vitamins that are obtained from food, vitamin D can be synthesized from the sun.

Vitamin D is essential for many functions such as for strengthening bones and teeth, supporting the immune system, losing excess fat, protecting the brain against dementia and decreasing asthma symptoms for both adults and children.

Christianity Etc › Bridle Your Tongue! by richmekus(op): 3:44pm On Jul 06, 2018
If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain. (James 1:26)

A bridle is a headgear for a horse, and includes a headstall, reins and bit, to give the horse rider control over the direction and speed of the horse.

When you put that bit in the horse’s mouth, you direct, and he follows you confidently. When the Scriptures admonish us to bridle the tongue, it means to control your tongue.

In James 3:5-6 the Bible says that the tongue can defile the whole body and set on fire the course of nature. The word translated defile means to render inoperative or useless.

It means to corrupt the body in such a way that it can’t carry out its function. Your tongue can rob your body of its effectiveness; that’s why it must be tamed.

Also, the tongue can set on fire the course of nature; that means the wheel of life; the course of your life.

Christianity Etc › The Gospel Is Man Only Hope For Salvation by richmekus(op): 6:49pm On Jul 05, 2018
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth…(Romans 1:16)

Someone might say, “Well, Jesus is for the Christians, and the other religions have their own means of salvation.” Emphatically no!

In Acts 4:12 the Bible says, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

Notice that it didn’t say, “…there is none other name under heaven given among Christians, whereby we must be saved.”

Rather, it says “…there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” This means except by Jesus Christ, no one can be saved.

You have to understand who Jesus is; He wasn’t a religious leader!

Christianity Etc › Biblical Implications Of Another Blood Moon Appearing In July by richmekus(op): 12:31pm On Jul 03, 2018
Blood Moon appearance over the Middle East this month is a definite warning sign from the heavens, according to an American doomsday preacher.

US pastor Paul Begley, is certain the Blood Moon is a sign from above and the July 27 lunar eclipse marks the final chapter in humanity’s history books.

The Christian conspiracy theorist who preaches bleak Biblical predictions about the apocalypse said the world is about to be stunned.

Pastor Begley warned the Blood Moon will pass over Israel and the Middle East to fulfill Biblical prophecy.

The United Arab Emirates are going to be stunned – they’re already stunned at what’s coming.

The Blood Moon that’s going to be directly over the Middle East, directly over Jerusalem and the UAE.

Health › New Drug To Stop Bleeding At Child Birth Revealed By WHO by richmekus(op): 5:54pm On Jun 28, 2018
World Health Organisation (WHO) has revealed a drug that can reduce death rate during childbirth as a result of blood loss.

WHO said Carbetocin now serves as a new competition – with improved benefits – to Oxytocin, a standby drug used to prevent potentially-fatal bleeding after childbirth.

According to WHO, excessive bleeding after childbirth still kills around 70,000 mothers a year and currently, Oxytocin is the first-choice medication, but it must be kept cold, unlike the new drug, Carbetocin.

The study, partly led, among others, by WHO and published on Wednesday, suggested that the new drug which could be stored at normal temperatures, could save the lives of thousands in low- and lower-middle-income countries.

Nairaland General › Nigerian House Of Reps Set Up Panel To Investigate Excessive Charges By Discos by richmekus(op): 5:27pm On Jun 27, 2018
The House of Representatives under the leadership of Hon Yakubu Dogara has commenced an investigation into allegations of excessive electricity charges being levied on consumers by distribution companies.

Dogara, while delivering a remark at the investigative hearing held by the House ad-hoc committee set up to curb excessive electricity charges by the distribution companies, explained that the investigation is being carried out with a view to reducing the financial burden on Nigerians and finding a lasting solution to the crisis currently plaguing the energy sector.

“The House is aware of the financial hardship being experienced by most of our people, due to the high electricity charges by DISCOs. This has further compounded the difficulty brought about by the economic downturn in the country. We are, therefore, determined to get all the facts on the matter, with a view to addressing it”, he said.

He revealed that the committee was setup following allegations that after the unbundling of the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), the DISCOs hurriedly installed new sets of prepaid meters which gobble the units purchased much faster than the older prepaid meters.

Christianity Etc › Sincerity Isn’t Righteousness by richmekus(op): 7:43am On Jun 22, 2018
Rhapsody Of Realities Daily Devotional Friday, June 22nd, 2018 – Pastor Chris

For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17).

In your walk with God, you have to understand that there’s a huge difference between sincerity and righteousness.

Sometimes, we think that God should look at our sincerity and count it for righteousness, but it’s not so.

No matter how sincere you are, it’ll never amount to righteousness. God doesn’t hear and answer your prayers because you’re sincere, but because you’re righteous; because of Jesus; and your righteousness is the righteousness of Jesus.

The Bible says, “Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life” (Romans 5:18).

Righteousness is what gives you right standing in the presence of God. Your sincerity never gives you right standing before the Father.

A whole lot of Christians pray and cry to God, pleading on their sincerity, because they’re not aware of the truth of God’s Word.

Christianity Etc › Praying Frequently Helps You Sleep Better – Study Reveals by richmekus(op): 6:29pm On Jun 19, 2018
A new study has found that people who attend Church services and pray frequently tend to sleep better than their less religious counterparts.

Conducted by the University of Texas at San Antonio, and published in Sleep Health: Journal of the National Sleep Foundation, data from a large, recent nationwide survey of U.S. adults shows that Church attendance and frequency of prayer are positively associated with overall sleep quality.

The study acknowledges that religion could “decrease psychological distress, substance abuse and stress exposure, which are all associated with sleep outcomes.”

“This research is relatively unchartered territory that allows us to better understand the way in which religion and spirituality affect a person’s health and overall quality of life,” Christopher Ellison from the UTSA Department of Sociology told the Christian Post.

According to UTSA, “Ellison believes the data suggests a person’s religious involvement benefits their mental health by reducing stress, promoting social engagement and support from fellow church members, providing psychological resources (hope, optimism, sense of meaning) and promoting healthier lifestyles (lower levels of substance abuse).”

There are many other benefits to attending church, as previous studies have shown.

Christianity Etc › Prayer Is Your Life’s Work - Pastor Chris Oyakhilome by richmekus(op): 10:49am On Jun 18, 2018
I will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting (1 Timothy 2:8.)

Someone once said, “I always feel reluctant to pray. How do I get free from this?” It’s just like someone who feels reluctant to eat.

If you don’t eat, then you’ll lose weight and become malnourished. But there’ll only be a change when you choose to act wisely by eating right. Same with prayer; when you feel reluctant to pray that’s when you should pray.

Remember, God has given you the power of choice, so you have the power to choose and exercise wisdom by acting on your knowledge of the importance of prayer.

This kind of wisdom is a force; it’s more than ability. You can have the ability to do something and not do it.

But true wisdom is that you know what you should do, and you do it! So let that wisdom function in you at all times and cause you to do what’s right, like choosing to pray.

Prayer is your life’s work, and the best way to learn to pray is to pray. Culture yourself to do this, whether or not you feel like.

Jesus said in Luke 18:1, “men ought always to pray, and not to faint;” He didn’t say, “men ought always to pray when they feel like”.

Christianity Etc › You Separated Yourself From The Poor By Helping The Poor – Pastor Chris by richmekus(op): 2:54pm On Jun 15, 2018
You’re a world changer, therefore, you must always look out for how you can help someone else.

It’s important you have this mentality. Become a giver; not only in Church, give also to the poor.

Don’t ignore the poor! Don’t say “they should go and work,” the fact is that a lot of them, despite several attempts, are unable to get a job; no one will give them one.

One important thing you should practice is this: try to take extra money with you when you’re going to work, for that one person that you’re going to help that day.

Plant seeds into some other person’s life. It may be small, but I’ll tell you something; you don’t determine the size of a tree by the size of its seed.

The Bible says in Proverbs 19:17, “He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.”

The Lord pays you for being gracious to the poor, and interestingly,...

Health › Breakfast – An Important Start For Every Day by richmekus(op): 9:54am On Jun 11, 2018
Most people know you shouldn’t skip breakfast, but many don’t know why. You probably had your mother tell you every morning, “Eat your breakfast. It’s the most important meal of the day.”

Well, the notion of breakfast being an all-important meal isn’t just a parental tool devised to get children to eat, it is actually true.

The body ‘fasts’ every night, and after about 12 hours without food, you need to replenish your energy supply.

The term ‘breakfast’ is used because this is the first meal after the long night hours. It is essential to ensure you have breakfast every day, below are some of the benefits of breakfasting:

Breakfasters are smarter. People who eat breakfast are more likely to do better in school or at work; hunger can be distracting, so the level of concentration is higher when you are well fed. Thus, your mind is sharper and you are better at problem-solving.

Breakfasters are happier. Generally, most people who skip breakfast tend to be cranky and uptight in the mornings. Food boosts feelings of wellbeing and makes you happier, particularly when the food is high in carbohydrates.

Breakfasters are healthier. Especially for children, skipping breakfast may cause deficiencies in nutrients such as iron, fiber, calcium, potassium and vitamin D.

Also, people who eat breakfast are less likely to be overweight or obese as they are more likely to participate in physical activities and less likely to stock up on junk food.

Little wonder why most dieticians and weight-loss experts advocate the importance of breakfast.

Health › Smell Great! How To Get Rid Of Body Odor by richmekus(op): 9:08am On Jun 10, 2018
Bad body odor can be described as an unpleasant smell which results from the breakdown of sweat into aromatic fatty acids by bacteria on the skin.

Contrary to general opinion, sweat itself does not smell but serves as a very conducive culture for the bacteria that live on the skin.

An individual's body odor can be affected by food, drink, genetics, medication, etc.

People who are obese, as well as individuals with certain medical conditions, such as diabetes, are more likely to develop body odor.

More factors that may induce body odor include stress, infections like athlete’s foot and regular alcohol consumption.

Body odor becomes more noticeable from puberty, if adequate hygiene measures are not taken.

Smelling good is vital for building self-confidence and maintaining a good image of oneself.

Some studies also suggest that, in addition to dressing properly and comporting yourself appropriately, how you smell can have a positive or negative impact on your daily activities and interpersonal relationships.

Noting all these, it is important to follow the 7 tips outlined below to stay free from body odor.

Health Tips:
1. Watch your diet. Consumption of spicy foods containing garlic, ginger, onions and the likes, if not well controlled, can lead to bad body odor.

Christianity Etc › Three Expressions Of Joy - Pastor Chris by richmekus(op): 7:54am On Jun 10, 2018
The Holy Spirit in your life shouldn’t be what you have to remember. It should become so natural with you to walk with the Holy Spirit in your life. Hallelujah.

Romans 14:17 “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost”.(KJV)

How many times do you actually express joy? Some people only express joy when something nice has happened with them.

In fact they’re so used to such a life that if they saw someone rejoicing, they ask, what happened? Because something has to happen for them to be happy.

And if you say something like “I’m happening” they’ll think you’re stupid because they think something has to happen for you to be joyful, but the kingdom of God is joy in the Holy Ghost.

Joy is expressed in three major ways:

Christianity Etc › Wisdom Stands You Out! by richmekus(op): 7:30pm On Jun 08, 2018
Rhapsody Of Realities Daily Devotional Saturday, June 9th 2018 – Pastor Chris

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her (Proverbs 4:7-cool.

There’s a wisdom from God that’s revealed to us to live by. Jesus functioned in it, and as a result, He completely baffled and dazzled those in His day.

He had a different mindset. His words and teachings were different; in most cases, they were in complete antithesis to the Law, and to natural human thinking.

According to the Law, for example, the soul that sins shall die (Ezekiel 18:20), but Jesus manifested the love, mercies and grace of God: “For the law was given by Moses, [but] grace and truth came by Jesus Christ” (John 1:17).

Moses taught “An eye for an eye; life for life”; but Jesus came to reveal to us the life and nature of God; the way God thinks—the way that wins—the love-way.

Man had been raised in the natural world to be vengeful, to be insulting and injurious.

But Jesus taught that we should love our enemies, pray for, and bless our detractors and persecutors: “…Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you” (Matthew 5:44).

That’s strange to the natural man. Loving your enemies isn’t what you’d naturally like to do. But Jesus came with Kingdom principles: a new way to live.

Christianity Etc › Righteousness - The Ability To Do Right. by richmekus(op): 1:05pm On Jun 08, 2018
There is something about righteousness, peace and joy. Righteousness is the nature of God that gives a man the ability to stand in the presence of God without any sense of guilt, inferiority complex or condemnation. It gives a man right standing with God — the ability to do right.

This is the nature of every believer in Christ. When you look into his eyes, you see love.

His lifestyle reflects the righteousness, peace and joy that is in the Holy Ghost. He does not move alone. He is led by the spirit of God.

When Jesus died on the cross, He declared that it was finished. In essence, He meant that troubles and toiling were finished upon this earth.

The journey to seeking for self-righteousness has ended. With the gift of righteousness bequeathed to us through His death, an intimate relationship with God is guaranteed. We are no longer ruled by the law.

Anyone who lives rightly with God is free from the law and its consequences. A man who has the right relationship with God has no cause to fear. Even when a man has all his needs in life met, he still complains.

Christianity Etc › Dominion Over Devils by richmekus(op): 7:52pm On May 25, 2018
Rhapsody Of Realities Daily Devotional Saturday, May 26th – Pastor Chris

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils… (Mark 16:17).

There’re no Christians specially anointed or gifted to cast out demons. Jesus said, “…these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils…” (Mark 16:17).

The only qualification needed for you to be able to cast out devils is to be a believing one; it’s to be in Christ.

Every Christian has authority to cast out devils, including the one that just got born again minutes ago.

Someone might say, “How can that be? Don’t we need to prepare ourselves and pray ‘powerful prayers’ before we can cast out devils?”

No! Jesus didn’t even ask us to pray about the devil. He said, “Cast him out!” You never need to tell God to do anything about the devil, because He already did everything He needed to do about the devil, and demons of darkness, and gave you authority over them.

In Mark 6:7, the Bible says, “And he (Jesus) called unto him the twelve, and…gave them power over unclean spirits.”

The Greek word for “power” is “exousia,” and it means “authority.” Jesus gave us authority over unclean spirits. Read what He did to them in hell: “Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it” (Colossians 2:15 NKJV).

Christianity Etc › Jerusalem And Evident-truths by richmekus(op): 6:52pm On May 24, 2018
It would seem the Creator of the universe purposefully presented humanity with a paradoxically configured planet to perpetually engage it in mental exercises.

For example, the most priceless things on earth are at once the most affordable(?) Water, sand, and air, to mention few that readily come to mind.

We could come up a long list of these, but there is one that rarely comes to mind: truth. The truth in every situation is so cheap that it is often rejected as too simplistic, or nonsensical.

But God reminds us in more ways than one that His ways are converse to our own. If humanity took the universal maxim that God’s ways are easy, and see worldly issues with the eyes of an innocent child, as the Creator admonishes, I should like to submit that the world would be a far peaceful and blissful place, approximating Heavenly paradise.

My in-depth study of both history and religion confirms to me that the seeming paradox alluded to in the opening sentence is another measure of God’s all-sufficiency.

But the “intelligent creature” – man, would rather see the world from another prism, the complex binoculars.

He does this primarily to clothe his permutations and achievements with the dignity of genius. And so even though it is obvious to him that his relatively minuscule brain and “discoveries” are God’s creation and revelations respectively, man still foolishly seldom gives God the only thing He asks of us; glorify Him by simply acknowledging His creative genius.

In His characteristically simply ways, God said He created man for His glory; this for me is the most invaluable revelation of God to man. It is, therefore, a big irony that man, a primary vector of glory, should spend all his days seeking self-glory.

First evident-truth: man for the most part works at cross-purposes with his Creator. Little wonder his existence is full of torments.

I should like to further submit that the only antidote to these torments is to be found in self-evident truths.

Christianity Etc › Love’s Call, The Greatest Call! by richmekus(op): 7:07pm On May 23, 2018
And now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love (1 Corinthians 13:13).

I once listened to a dear minister of God preach and during the course of her teaching, she made a statement that has stayed with me for so long.

She said, “Lord Jesus, I have nothing to give you but my love”. I thought, “What could be better than that?” What else could we give Him, but our love!

In Proverbs 23:26, the Lord said, “My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.”

That’s what He’s asking for; nothing could be better to give Him, than your love. This is so important because it’s all you need to do His work. Your love for Him will propel you to live for Him and fulfill His call on your life.

The question is, “Do you love Jesus?” If you do, whether or not you heard a voice “calling” you into the ministry, makes no difference. What will count with God is how much you love Him, and what that love propels you to do to the glory of His name.

Christianity Etc › Free From Accusation! by richmekus(op): 7:24pm On May 14, 2018
And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight. Colossians 1:21-22

Jesus saved us, and our opening text shows us what He’s made us. He’s reconciled you in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, unblameable, and unreproveable in God’s sight.

This isn’t something God is trying to do, or going to do; He’s already done it through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

So, this isn’t a promise; it’s a statement of fact. You’ve been reconciled with the Father, and the latter part of the opening scripture clearly reveals to us the reason for the reconciliation: to present you holy, blameless and above reproach in God’s sight.

It doesn’t matter what anybody thinks about you! God says you’re holy, faultless and irreproachable. This is who you are to Him.

This is how He’s presented you to Himself in Christ Jesus—holy, and free of all accusations.

This is where our audacity of faith comes from. This is the reason we’re bold to make demands in His Name, decree a thing and have it established. It’s because our righteousness is of Him!

It isn’t because of what you did or didn’t do; no! It’s because of what Jesus did.

Politics › US Officially Moves Its Embassy To Jerusalem by richmekus(op): 4:22pm On May 14, 2018
Sixty-nine years after Israel declared Jerusalem as its capital, and 23 years after the US Congress passed a law mandating that Washington move its embassy there, the US formally opened its embassy in the city on Monday afternoon, in a move Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared as “momentous.”

In a video address to the assembly, US President Donald Trump said the move was "a long time coming," and that Israel, like all sovereign nations, has a right to name its own capital.

Trump mentioned that the US would still be observing the status quo in terms of contested territories such as on Temple Mount.

"The US will always be a great friend of Israel and a partner in the cause of freedom and peace," Trump said. "We extend a hand in friendship to Israel, the Palestinians and to all of their neighbors. May there be peace. May God bless this embassy. May God bless all who serve here and may God bless the United States of America."

President Reuven Rivlin thanked Republicans and Democrats alike for their love and support of Israel.

He received a standing ovation when he said, "Every US president has promised to move the American embassy to Jerusalem. Finally we have a leader who promised this, and also kept his promise!"

"The Israeli people thanks you for keeping your word, for your courage, for your determination and for your firm, unwavering stance alongside the State of Israel," he continued. "We hope and expect that other nations will follow your path and your leadership. We will continue to safeguard Jerusalem as a city of peace, as a home to all those of faith, a city of all its residents and citizens, of all religions and communities, who share together one city, which is so greatly loved by everyone."

Trump's son-in-law and advisor, Jared Kushner, then took the stage. "When President Trump makes a promise, he keeps it," Kushner said.

"By moving our embassy to Jerusalem, we have shown the world once again that the US can be trusted. We stand with our friends and our allies, and above all we've shown that the US will do what's right, and so we have."

Christianity Etc › Your Understanding Of The Gospel by richmekus(op): 11:36pm On May 13, 2018
Rhapsody Of Realities Daily Devotional Monday, May 14th – Pastor Chris

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth… (Romans 1:16).

Your main purpose on earth is to establish the Kingdom of God. We just read that the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes.

In other words, God’s power to save, help, deliver, and bless is in the Gospel. All a man needs is to hear and believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and he’ll be changed forever.

This was the understanding and the conviction that Christians in the early Church had that made them preach the Gospel fearlessly; they were bold and confident with the Gospel.

They were arrested, beaten, and even killed for the Gospel’s sake, all because of their understanding that the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation.

Despite the fierce opposition and persecution they faced, they were undeterred, fearlessly preaching the Name of Jesus (Acts 5:41).

It’s not enough to preach the Gospel, you must also understand the Gospel that you preach, and be convinced it’s the only hope there is for all men.

Your personal understanding of the Gospel is very important, because your life would be a reflection of “your gospel.”

Christianity Etc › Is It Right For A Christian To Marry A Non-christian? by richmekus(op): 7:06pm On May 13, 2018
God forbade the children of Israel marrying non-Jews. He said, “Don’t give your daughters to their sons and don’t take their daughters for your sons” (Ezra 9:10-12).

This instruction is still the same even in the New Testament! No Christian should marry a non-Christian. You belong to God’s family and in this new family, God forbids it.

During the re-gathering of the Jews to Jerusalem, Nehemiah found that some of them had transgressed this commandment, and he “contended with them, and cursed them, and smote certain of them, and plucked off their hair, and made them swear by God, saying, Ye shall not give your daughters unto their sons, nor take their daughters unto your sons, or for yourselves.” (Nehemiah13:25).

God loves us and He doesn’t want us to fall into error as Solomon did. According to Nehemiah, Solomon’s disregard for this commandment became his undoing.

He said: “Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? yet among many nations was there no king like him, who was beloved of his God, and God made him king over all Israel: nevertheless even him did outlandish women cause to sin” (Nehemiah 13:26).

In spite of the fact that God loved Solomon, visited him twice and blessed him with wisdom unlike any other man, his strange wives still caused him to sin.

His problem wasn’t that he married many wives but that he married ‘foreign’ women who took him out of the Lords will. And the same thing will happen to any believer today.

Christianity Etc › The Right Way To Worship by richmekus(op): 7:32am On May 13, 2018
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24).

There’s the right way to worship God. You can’t worship Him the way you choose and expect that He’ll accept it.

For example, Genesis 4 tells us how two men—Cain and Abel—the sons of Adam and Eve offered sacrifices to God. Cain brought an offering to God from the produce of his farm; he offered to God what he thought was okay, instead of what God had asked for.

Abel, on the other hand, offered what God demanded and his sacrifice was accepted. You don’t give to God what you think you have; you give Him what He demands of you.

It’s the same with worship. It’s important that you walk in the light of God’s Word, doing exactly what He wants. Just because something seems nice doesn’t mean it’s acceptable to God.

Christianity Etc › Be Voracious For The Word – Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. by richmekus(op): 7:16am On May 13, 2018
Be Voracious For The Word

And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified (Acts 20:32).

The Word of God gives you much more than a moral code of conduct; it builds, lifts, transforms you and catapults you to your inheritance and destiny in Christ.

Proverbs 11:9 tells us that through knowledge revelation knowledge of God’s Word shall the just be delivered into their inheritance.

Thus, you have to know the Word, store it in you, and consciously put it to work in your life. That’s your guarantee of a life of ever-increasing glory.

The Bible says, “…All things are yours” (1 Corinthians 3:21); that means there’s nothing you require today that hasn’t already been made available to you by God through the Word.

This is one reason you must meditate on the Word. Become voracious in your passion, hunger, and appetite for the Word.

There’s no way of appropriating the blessings of God to your life without the accurate knowledge of the Word.

We triumph by the Word. We reign in life through the Word. We win, excel, and prevail over the challenges of life through, and with the Word.

The more you study and meditate on the Word, the more inspired and excited you get about the life in Christ.
