Rhapsody Of Realities Daily Devotional Sunday, May 13th – Pastor Chris

And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one (John 17:22).

The Lord Jesus made the remarkable statement above in His prayer to the Father for us, and we know God heard Him.

Thus, we have the glory of Jesus. This is so profound! The Bible says Jesus Christ is the effulgence of the Father’s glory, the express image of His Person (Hebrews 1:3).

That’s exactly what we are today, for the Bible says we’re created in His image and in His likeness.
You were born to be the glory of God. Colossians 1:27 says Christ in you, the hope of glory; that doesn’t mean the glory is coming because Christ is in you.

Rather, it means the glory has come because Christ is in you. Blessed be God!

2 Corinthians 3:18 explains that as we look at the glory of God in a mirror, we’re metamorphosed into the same image that we see; and the image we see is the glory of God.

So, not only do we have the glory in us, we’re the glory of God. No wonder our heavenly Father is called “the Father of glory”; the Church is the glory of God.

That reflection; that glory that you see when you look into the mirror—the Word—is who you really are!

Located just below your ribcage on either side of your spine are your kidneys. These two bean-shaped organs, though no larger than your fist, constitute a vital part of maintaining the proper functioning of your body.

The primary role of the kidneys is the removal of harmful substances, waste products and excess fluids from the body through the urine (production of which involves excretion and re-absorption).

This process is necessary to maintain a stable balance of body chemicals and fluids. The kidneys also perform the critical function of regulating the body’s salt, potassium and acid content.

In addition, the kidneys produce hormones that affect the function of other organs.

For instance, erythropoietin – a hormone produced by the kidneys – determines the rate of red blood cell production.

The kidneys also use calcitriol, an active form of vitamin D to absorption of calcium, thereby promoting strong, healthy bones.
Another hormone produced by the kidneys is renin which helps regulate blood pressure.

Tips To Preventing Kidney Diseases:

To keep your kidneys healthy and functioning normally, here are a few tips.

1. Don’t smoke. The warning that smokers are liable to die young isn’t just a cliché. They have a higher risk for various types of cancers, kidney and heart diseases, high blood pressure and other health complications. So be good to your body and stop smoking.

2. Stop or reduce alcohol intake. Too much alcohol can inhibit the kidneys’ ability to filter harmful substances from the blood and maintain fluid balance. Alcohol also dehydrates the body, which affects the normal operation of cells and organs. If you must drink, don’t overindulge; the occasional drink or two would be okay.

It’s clear from our opening verse who we are and what God wants us to do: we’re the manifestation of His glory and the express image of His person.

We’re His trophies, on display for the world to see. We display His virtues and perfections.

It’s important that you see yourself the way God sees you; the way the Word describes you, and not the way others see you or the way you see yourself.

It’ll make your faith effective. Sometimes, you may look at your life and think you’re really not what God says you are, but that’s because you’re focusing on the wrong thing.

Pope Francis said Wednesday that nothing can take away a person's baptism or the identity they thereby gain as a child of God, which is why this sacrament cannot be repeated.

“Baptism is not repeated because it imprints an indelible spiritual sign: This sign is never erased by any sin, though sin prevents baptism from bringing the fruit of salvation,” the pope said during his May 9 general audience.

Just as parents give their children earthly life, the Church gives spiritual life through baptism, making each person a son of God through Jesus Christ, he said, explaining that at the moment of baptism, God tells each person that “you are my beloved child.”

“This paternal voice, imperceptible to the ear but well audible to the heart of those who believe, accompanies us for our entire lives, without abandoning us,” he said, adding that this is why the Church believes in only one baptism for salvation.

The belonging a person obtains from baptism “is something you never lose,” Francis said, even if a person sins with something as serious as murder, their belonging to God and his Church never goes away, “he continues to be a son.”

Even though everyone is a sinner and there is a great need for conversion in life of each person, “God never rejects his children,” he said, and asked the crowd to repeat the phrase with him out loud.

Speaking to pilgrims who braved a rainy forecast to join him for the audience in St. Peter's Square, the pope continued his catechesis on baptism, focusing this week on the moment a person is actually baptized when the priest invokes the Trinity, saying “I baptize you in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

Bananas are wonderfully sweet fruits with firm, soft and creamy flesh and is usually elongated and curved. They are covered with a coat, which may be green, yellow, red, purple or brown when ripe.

Bananas are one of nature’s great foods and are packed with lots of health benefits, some of which are outlined below.

1. Regulates Blood Pressure
Bananas are rich in potassium, which usually counterbalances the effect of sodium (salt) in raising your blood pressure. Potassium is an essential mineral for maintaining proper heart functions and regulating blood pressure.

2. Builds Immune Response
Bananas are particularly high in vitamin B6 (pyridoxine). Pyridoxine is involved in producing antibodies for a stronger immune response in your body.

It is also important for creating hemoglobin for healthy blood. Just one banana contains one fifth of your recommended daily intake of vitamin B6, and it tastes much better than vitamin pills too.

3. Increases Energy
Sports drinks, energy bars and electrolyte gels are extremely popular nowadays.

However, recent studies show that eating bananas at 15 minutes intervals during exercises may be more effective as bananas can help boost and sustain athletes’ performance during and after workouts and competitions.

You can train yourself to become an effective intercessor, and to do that, you’re going to train yourself to spend time in prayer.

As a student in high school, I couldn’t run very fast. Since sprinting was out of the question for me, I began to think of something else I could participate in during our annual sports day.

Then I figured that since there were people who could run very fast but not for long, there’d also be those who might not be able to run very fast but could run for a long period.

I concluded that I fell in that second category and started training for long-distance running with a friend.

We chose to try the 800m race, and very early every morning, we did several laps around the school field.

Though I eventually didn’t run in any competitive race, I practised. It was tough going at first, and I felt like quitting after the first lap, but I discovered it got easier each morning we trained.

After some weeks of consistent practice, not only was I able to complete the laps, I was also able to maintain my speed and even go faster.

I learnt a powerful principle from this: anything you practise consistently long enough will get into your system and become a part of you.

I also discovered I could break myself spiritually and discipline myself to pray using this principle.

This month of May is very special. Many things will change for your good. I will be discussing this month with a panel of discussant.

There were certain things that the Lord dropped in my spirit about this month that got me excited. This month of May is the month of ‘FAVOUR’.

Not so many people are conscious of the Favour of God in their lives. It’s God’s plan to favour us, bless us and make us live the wonderful life. Don’t settle for up sometimes and down sometimes.

When someone is favored, it means whatever he puts his hand in, something tangible will come out of it. It’s even more than that, it means God is ordering our steps, it’s time to favour me.

Psalm 102:13 KJV: Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.

We just entered another phase of our lives. To bless means to favour, it also means to invoke successful outcome. This means something greater has come. There’s no way we can produce little result. Halleluyah!

Walk in humility like never before. This is key to walking in favour. There’s a rain of Glory.

Proverbs 8:33-35KJV – 33 Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. 34 Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. 35 For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the Lord.

We have obtained favour from the Lord. There’s nothing anyone or the devil can do about it. This is the month where you will bring down those mountains and fill those valleys.

For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned (Matthew 12:37).

Words are so important in the Kingdom of God and should never be used carelessly.

Your real personality is revealed in words. Even when you think you’re joking, what you say could make or mar your destiny. Never take the risk to joke against the Word.

Take Esau for example; by what some consider “mere words,” he forfeited his birthright to his brother, Jacob.

Read the story: He was hungry and wanted food. Jacob, his younger brother, was making a pot of stew and he asked Jacob for some.

Read their ensuing dialogue: “Give me some of that red stew—I’m starved,” said Esau. “Make me a trade: my stew for your rights as the firstborn,” replied Jacob. “…I’m starving! What good is a birthright if I’m dead?” …And he did it.

On oath, Esau traded away his rights as the firstborn. Jacob gave him bread and the stew of lentils. He ate and drank, got up and left.
That’s how Esau shrugged off his rights as the firstborn” (Genesis 25:32-34 MSG). Very pathetic indeed!

The implication was that when Isaac was to transfer the blessing to his older son, he conferred it on Jacob, instead of Esau, howbeit by “mistake.”

You got angry and stopped singing in choir,
ushering, cleaning and sweeping the house of God and every other work you were doing in church.

Eventually you’ve stopped going to church because someone spoke to you in a way you didn’t like. Most of the messages from the pulpit was against you.

Nobody called you when you were sick, Someone corrected you. Or whatever might be your reasons. But excuse me.

You’ve not stopped working for the boss who insults you most of the time, neither have you stopped work because your colleagues spoke ill of you.

When you were sick, you didn’t wait for your boss to call you rather you called and told Him about your present condition.

Remember at school, how your teachers, your schoolmates or even your best friends offended you yet you didn’t stop schooling.

In our lives as Christians, hard times may come; the crises of life can come to you in trials, temptations, and persecution. But at such times, hold on; don’t give up, because it only came to pass.

2 Corinthians 4:17 AMP says; For our light, momentary affliction (this slight distress of the passing hour) is ever more and more abundantly preparing and producing and achieving for us an everlasting weight of glory [beyond all measure, excessively surpassing all comparisons and all calculations, a vast and transcendent glory and blessedness never to cease!]

Recall Jesus’ statement to His captors at His arrest; He said, “I was with you in the Temple every day, and you did not try to arrest me.

But this is your hour to act, when the power of darkness rules” (Luke 22:53 GNB). It was for a moment. When it was over, the glorified Son of God was manifested. Halleluiah!

So, you may go through difficulties and times of darkness, but the Bible says count it all joy when you go through diverse tests, knowing that the trial of your faith works patience (James 1:2); it’ll turn out for your good.

It may be that you’ve been giving to the Lord, sowing your seeds, and paying your tithes, and suddenly, you lose your job. If that happens, don’t panic.

Don’t say, “O God, why is this happening to me?” Someone may even say to you, “If you’re truly a Christian, this should never happen to you”; that’s not true.

Some things can happen to you even though you’re a Christian, but it doesn’t change who you are; you’re still a victor!

The circumstances of your life don’t, and shouldn’t, describe or dictate the quality of your personality.

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed (Galatians 1:.

There’re those who think it’s okay to try and contact the dead for information about their future. It’s wrong.

In the Old Testament, God specifically warned the children of Israel not to do it. Saul, the king of Israel, did it and got into trouble for it.

The dead don’t know the future; so, it’s even absurd to try to consult with them about the future.

Only the Holy Ghost knows the future, and through the insight He grants us, we’re able to know things about the future as He reveals them to us.

Jesus said, “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come” (John 16:13).

Trust the Holy Spirit: instead of hoping that, somehow, the ghost of a dead person will reveal some secrets to you or give you some esoteric information about your future.

Of course, there’re manifestations of the Holy Spirit in which He ministers to us in different ways

Always be humble and gentle. Patiently put up with each other and love each other. Ephesians 4:2 CEV

Truly prosperous and successful people are often very humble; humble enough to believe that the Lord can use others as much as He can use them.

This is unlike some other folks who believe God can only accomplish any major thing in their family, workplace, nation, or church through them.

If whatever God is doing or going to do isn’t through them, they’re not going to accept it. That’s selfishness. No one can walk with the Spirit of God with such an attitude.

If your desire is to sincerely glorify the Lord and see His righteousness enthroned and exalted in the hearts of men, and in the nations of the world, then it doesn’t matter who He uses to accomplish it.

The most important thing is that through His Church, His mandate, purpose, and desire for the nations and peoples of the world are being fulfilled.

Learn to bless the Lord and praise Him when He does something good for, or through, someone else. When someone else is esteemed above you, it shouldn’t hurt you in any way; be happy for that person, because it’s for the glory of God.

Benin Nigeria as has been said earlier was formerly known as the ‘City of Blood’. It would have been apt for it to also be known as the ‘Land of Witches and Wizards’.

Idahosa grew up in the midst of witchcraft and idolatry. His late father was utterly disappointed that Benson could not become the deity priest that he had desired while his Grandmum remained a fervent idolater till death.

Some months after the dedication of The Faith Arena, then the largest Church Auditorium in the whole of Africa at Upper Adesuwa, GRA, Benin, by Archbishop, the news went round Nigeria, that witches from all over the globe had met in the State of Chicago in the USA and had decided to hold their first international conference.

The venue was fixed as Benin City. The Chief Host, an academician of Bini Origin held a press conference and informed the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Benin as well as newspapers such as The Tribune, Sketch and Punch with arrogance that this first world conference hosting witches and wizards would hold in Benin.

Soon enough Idahosa was informed and true to himself, in the next edition of ‘Idahosa and You’, a program of the Idahosa World Outreach, he said it could not be true as it was impossible.

The press met Idahosa and asked what exactly was not possible and what were the consequences if any? ‘Witches from the world could not come to Benin’ insisted Benson, as he would ‘kill them all’. The city became a buzz.

1. JUNK LESS:
Avoid the temptation of junking on fast foods. Take alternate routes to avoid seeing drive through restaurants. If you must eat fast food, choose lower-calorie options like grilled chicken or low-fat chili.

Also look for fruit or veggie options and order small sizes; avoid ‘value’ meals. Sip water instead of sugary drinks.

2. SNACK HEALTHIER:
Instead of reaching for cookies or chips, enjoy a small handful of nuts, or low-fat yogurt.

Take advantage of fresh fruits in season and enjoy refreshing options at different times of the year.

Only snack when you’re hungry – not to relieve stress – and eat one serving at a time.

3. DINE OUT LESS:
Plan every day, so that your only option isn’t a restaurant. Cook more than you need, and freeze half.

Then you’ll have frozen meals you can take out whenever you need them. You can even make easy-to-fix healthy foods – like oatmeal with fruit – for lunch or dinner.

4. AVOID MINDLESS EATING:
In addition to eating only when you’re hungry, watch yourself; when you feel satisfied – before you feel full – STOP EATING, even if there’s still food on your plate.

Don’t sit in front of the TV or computer when you eat. Multitasking leads to overeating. Pay attention to your food.

By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come (Hebrews 11:20).

In our previous study, we reviewed the importance of speaking blessings; we’re to constantly pronounce blessings.

However, blessings are pronounced or spoken by faith; otherwise, they’ll be empty words.

The words of blessings that we speak must be words of faith; faith that’s connected to God; faith that’s based on the revelation of God’s Word.

That’s what will cause the words to prevail. In our opening verse, we read that, “By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.”

Likewise, Hebrews 11:21 says, “By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.”

This is really amazing! Jacob, at this time, could hardly see; his eyes were dim, but he blessed his grandsons according to the revelation of the Spirit.

Good preventive medicine – the practical steps one should take to avoid disease and injury – starts with maintaining a safe and healthy home for you and your family.

Humans interact with the environment constantly; so, maintaining a healthy environment is central to maintaining and improving the quality of life.

Your home should be a haven of comfort and safety. However, there are unseen dangers that may threaten your family’s wellbeing.

Chemicals, germs, viruses, and other pests can do you harm if left unchecked. In this edition, we’ll share a few tips on what you can do to create or improve a healthy environment in your kitchen.

Everyone drifts in and out of the kitchen at various times of the day; it is one of the central areas in a home.

It’s also a major target area; practically every surface is a magnet for bacteria, viruses, germs, roaches, and other pests.

Sponges/Dish Towels
The sponge can hold mold, as well as thousands of germs and food-borne pathogens if not cleaned or stored properly.

Cloth dish towels can also harbor unhealthy microorganisms, even if they are only used for drying clean dishes.

I find that all around the world there are too many people who don’t understand the definition of nationhood. It is sad that all over Africa particularly, many have not understood their reason for being.

Africa was always called the Dark Continent, not because of the colour of the skin, but because of the poverty of their minds. But the time has come for us to make the difference and we will.

In developing the “Theory of Nations”, there are certain concepts that require mention and definition. All over the world, wherever the definitions of these concepts are nebulous, they are misused and usually leading to the sufferings of so many people.

These concepts are: Nation, nationalism, State and Ethnicity. To understand the development of nations, we must observe that man is a gregarious animal. Thus human beings naturally relate socially.

And as you know social relationships automatically define themselves in relation to strength and weakness; leadership and followership, because of the human tendency to protect or seek protection.

And so, the weaker congregate around the stronger to be protected. And this feeling of security heightens the weaker’s ability to function socially. And so, naturally, the stronger demands further submission and allegiance, while defining the limits of freedom of the weaker of the species.

Certain nations like Nigeria have completely flawed the popular definition of “nation” as a large body of people organised under independent government and sharing common customs, origins, history and language.

Canada, also among others, cannot fall into this narrow definition.

As you know, Nigeria has a multiplicity of languages, diverse customs and culture, and a wide range of divergent history for its many peoples who definitely don’t have a common origin.

Thus, by this definition, Nigeria will not qualify as a nation but a State only. And there are many countries all around the world that can only be described as States.

And without all contradiction the LESS is blessed of the BETTER (Hebrews 7:7).

In our opening verse, the Greek words translated “less” and “better” help us understand what we’re dealing with: ranks, seniority.

It’s actually referring to the less strong, being blessed of the stronger; that is, someone of a higher rank blessing someone of a lower rank.

For instance, parents can bless their children. A minister can bless his congregation.

In the Old Testament, the priests were asked to bless the congregation of Israel. In the New Testament, we find the same thing.

The Apostle Paul, for example, blessed the churches. In concluding his letter to the Roman Christians, he said, “And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen” (Romans 16:20).

Likewise, in his second letter to the Corinthian Church, he blessed them saying, “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen” (2 Corinthians 13:14).

Blessings are conveyed primarily in words, and you can’t bless someone who isn’t already “blessed”; this is a mystery, but also a spiritual reality. You can only bless someone that’s blessed.

HIV is a retrovirus, meaning that once it enters the body it infects T-cells in the immune system and changes their genetic makeup, so that rather than protect the body as they are meant to, they now create more HIV. This eventually kills the body’s T-cells in the process.

Once a patient’s T-cell count drops to a certain number, he is considered as having AIDS. At this point, his immune system is no longer able to protect him against otherwise harmless infections and viruses.

Anti-retroviral are given to HIV patients to help them live longer, but the patient still remains HIV-positive.

This is because eliminating the virus completely is something scientists have not figured out how to do yet.

Any HIV cure requires finding viral reservoirs, “waking” them up, and making them visible for treatment.

An introduction to the message on the Missionary Christian; it defines what a mission is and who a Missionary Christian is. It also explains God’s saving power and sheds light on God’s eternal plan for all mankind.

At the end of this first part of the bible study, you should understand: What a mission means and who a Missionary Christian is, Our Purpose here on earth as Missionary Christians, and God’s only Saving Power.

What is a mission?

A mission can be defined as: A cause of pursuit. An objective, operation or project carried out for the purpose of establishing a cause, a way of life, a ministry in a foreign or some designated place.

Who is a Missionary Christian?

A Missionary is one who is in pursuit of a cause; who is being given or is on an objective, operation or project, for the purpose of establishing a cause.

Therefore, a Missionary Christian is a Christian on a mission with a purpose. He knows where he is going; has found his identity and has discovered who he is.

A Missionary Christian can also be defined as a Christian who is about an objective, operation or project; one that is in pursuit of a cause.

Every Christian was born for a purpose and it is important that we remain conscious of this.

God left you here on earth for a reason; otherwise, as soon as you gave your heart to Christ, you should have gone to Heaven.

But God left you here after you were born again because there’s something for you to do here; to preach the Gospel and tell others about Jesus.

In preaching the gospel, you become a reflector of God’s Glory.
