A master craftsman once said that you can always tell what governs a man by what shows up consistently in his work. When excellence is the rule, it needs no announcement—it speaks.

You see it in the details, the precision, the quiet confidence that refuses to settle for “good enough.” In God’s Kingdom, excellence isn’t an occasional effort; it’s a way of life.

In the Kingdom of God, excellence is our culture. We don’t strive for excellence; we do excellent things.

Excellence is the nature of our Father, and because we’re born of Him, that same nature finds expression in everything we do. This is what distinguishes you. It lifts you above mediocrity and gives you an advantage that skill, talent, or human connections alone can never secure.

The word “meet” in Colossians 1:12 means “qualified.” This means the Father has qualified you to be a partaker of the inheritance of the saints in the Kingdom of Light. There’s an inheritance reserved for you—rich, complete, and divine.

That’s why your mindset should always reflect abundance, not lack. You are a child of the King, and everything that belongs to Him also belongs to you. You’re not an outsider or a stranger—you belong in the family of God.

“Did you hear what that billionaire said before he passed?” Leroy asked Queen, his voice low but curious.
Queen looked up from her phone. “Who? Mr. Kingston? The tech guy?”
“Yeah,” Leroy nodded. “After building that empire and owning everything money could buy, his last words were… ‘I found out that true fulfillment is in Christ.’”
Queen blinked. “Seriously? After all that?”
Leroy shrugged. “Guess it shows there’s more to life than just success and money.”

TO THE BIBLE: MARK 16:18
“They will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

As Gideon and Khalil walked home from school, Gideon suddenly said, “What if I told you that if a snake tried to bite me, nothing would happen?”

Khalil gave him a sceptical look. “I’d say you’re crazy. A snake bite is no joke.”
Gideon grinned. “The Bible says Christians have dominion over serpents—both real and symbolic.”

Khalil thought for a moment. “You mean like when Jesus called people “vipers’ and when Paul got bitten but wasn’t harmed?”

“Exactly,” Gideon nodded. “Mark 16:18 literally says we will take up serpents. We have absolute dominion over them, however they come!”

Have you ever wondered what the Lord Jesus meant when He said those who believe in our opening text will “take up serpents”? (Mark 16:18). Was He speaking literally or figuratively?

“And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him.”

The Lord Jesus’ life on earth was nothing short of extraordinary—His death, burial, and resurrection were just as extraordinary.

Normally, a person crucified on a cross would take at least thirteen hours to die. But Jesus, after only six hours, willingly gave up His spirit.

As He hung on the cross, He cried out to God, saying, “…Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit.” And with that, He took His last breath (Luke 23:46).

A soldier, wanting to confirm He was really dead, pierced His side with a spear. To everyone’s shock, blood and water flowed out—proof that His heart had ruptured. No one expected Him to die so quickly.

Sometimes, Christians sing songs that say “We lift Jesus higher” or “We lift Him up” in worship and praise of the Lord, but that doesn’t make spiritual sense. Let’s take a closer look at what they mean when they sing such words.

First of all, the Lord Jesus is already seated in the most exalted place in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 1:20-21).

So, when you sing, “We lift Him up,” you have to ask yourself, where exactly are you trying to lift Him to? Is He not already at the highest point?

Many people feel the same way. I told him, “You’re right, but it’s not God’s fault. Many of those He sent to save and help the needy aren’t doing it.” Thereafter, I preached the Gospel to him, and he was gloriously saved.

The Lord Jesus sent us to share the Gospel—the good news! It’s not exactly good news when all you know or hear is “God is going to change things for you”; that’s hope.

The good news is that things have already changed! So stop waiting for a change—it’s done! Hallelujah!

What a profound declaration our theme scripture today is. It says “…if anyone is in the Messiah, he is a new creation. Old things have disappeared, and-look!-all things have become new!” (ISV).

That means you’re no longer the weak hoping to be strong; the Lord Himself is now your strength! (Psalm 27:1).

TO THE BIBLE: James 1:22
“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”

LET’S TALK
Jaden sat on the bench, hands clasped. “God, please fix this. I don’t know what to do.”
Alex glanced at him. “What if God already made a way?”
Jaden frowned. “Then why hasn’t anything changed?”
“Maybe because you’re waiting for Him to do what He’s already given you the power to do.”
Jaden hesitated. “So… what am I supposed to do?”

Alex smiled. “Speak to the situation; God already gave you the power and authority to do that.”

Did you know that, in the New Testament, it’s no longer about what God can do but what YOU can do? He made the change in Christ and gave us the dominion, the authority, and the power to change anything.

So it’s up to you today to make your life as glorious as you want it to be. The key is to act on, or apply, the Word of God.

A lot of people stay stuck because they’re waiting for God to step in and fix things.

The Greek word for “unsearchable” captures a depth that’s difficult to fully express in English. The Amplified Classic Bible helps by describing it as “the unending (boundless, fathomless, incalculable, and exhaustless) riches of Christ.” This description paints a vivid picture of the amazing magnitude of Christ’s wealth!

So how do we even begin to grasp Christ’s riches? Where would we start, and where would we end? The answer depends on the person we’re talking about.

Something really profound about Paul’s letters is how much he emphasizes God’s grace and peace. At the start of his letters, like in Romans 1:7, he’d often say, “Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.”

You also see this in the letters of Peter and John because they all understood how powerful and important God’s grace and peace are in the lives of people.

As one who’s born again, you have an excellent mind because the Bible says, “We have the mind of Christ” (1 Corinthians 2:16). That’s a mind that’s sanctified by the Word of God to think on things that are true, honest, just, pure, of good report, virtuous, and praiseworthy.

An excellent mind doesn’t hold grudges or get caught up in gossip. It doesn’t dwell on negativity but is full of love.

You have to choose what you allow into your thoughts; filter out the bad and let in only what helps you grow. If you want to live an excellent life, it starts with thinking excellent thoughts!

Words are powerful. They shape everything—your life, your future, and even your body. The Bible shows us that God created and sustains everything with His words (Hebrews 1:3). And as Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” What you say matters more than you may realise.

So, how do you use your words? One of the most important things you can do is speak life over yourself—especially your body. Start declaring health and strength over yourself. Say things like, “I am strong. My body is healthy. Every organ and system in me functions perfectly.”

Talk to your body, and it will hear you. The human body is like an “animal” that needs to be trained.

Picture this: you’re driving at night on an unfamiliar road with no streetlights, no signs, and no GPS. You don’t know which turn to take, and the road ahead is uncertain.

That can be a very stressful and confusing situation to be in. But the moment your headlights come on, everything changes. The road ahead becomes clear, and you can identify where you’re going.

That’s exactly what God’s Word does in our lives—it gives us direction. Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

The Word is your compass; if you follow it, you’ll never lose your way; you’ll never fail. God’s Word is truth; it’s dependable, and you can bet your whole life on it.

That’s how many people live; they’re waiting for God to rescue them from problems He’s already given them victory over.

God didn’t bring you into this world to be a victim of circumstances, whether they’re economical, political, social or anything else.

You’re not defined by where you live or what’s going on around you. You’re more than a conqueror, and you’ve already overcome the world.

TO THE BIBLE: 2 Timothy 3:15
“and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.”

LET’S TALK
God’s wisdom is found in His Word. It covers everything and will guide you through life.

Proverbs 4:7 highlights just how important wisdom is; it says, “Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom….” In other words, wisdom should be your top priority.

The Scriptures, as read in our theme verse, have the unique ability to make one wise unto salvation. It’s one reason you must meditate on the Word.

Joshua 1:8 (AMPC) says, “This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.”

Notice that it says meditating on the Word will make you prosperous and cause you to deal wisely; that means it’ll make you discerning and sound.

LET’S TALK
I love the Word of God! It’s always so clear as to how we’re to live our lives, how to serve and worship the Lord.

Some people sing certain songs that only make them “feel good,” and they think they’re being blessed. Any unscriptural song, no matter how good it makes you feel, doesn’t bring any improvement to your life.

For example, the song “The power, the power, the Pentecostal power is still here today….” If you like, sing it and “shake” and think you’re being blessed; you’re not.

The Bible says: the one who reveres the Lord and delights greatly in His Word is blessed.
and not only that, wealth and riches shall be in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. Wealth, riches and righteousness are the heritage of the one who belongs to Christ.

The bane of many around the world today is ignorance; many have never been accurately taught the Word of God. Therefore, they don’t know how to apply it in order to walk in the reality of their glorious inheritance in Christ.

Make up your mind that you’re going to walk in the light of God’s Word as it relates to your prosperity in Christ.

“Hey Greg, you ever considered moving out of town?” Tim asked. “No, why would I do that?” Greg replied. “You know, move to another city where there are better opportunities for young folks like us,” Tim sighed.

“Well, when I got born again, I was brought into a kingdom where everything I’d ever need for life including opportunities was granted to me. I don’t need to move to another city in search of anything.” Greg responded. “Wow! That’s amazing” replied Tim.

(Act As God’s Custom Officer In This World)

TO THE BIBLE: 1 Thessalonians 5:21 AMPC
“But test and prove all things [until you can recognize] what is good; [to that] hold fast.”

LET’S TALK
In Romans 12, the Spirit of God, through the Apostle Paul, tells us something absolutely amazing. He says, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” (Romans 12:2).

But how do you renew your mind? You do so by changing the way you think, swapping your thoughts for God’s thoughts. When you do this, you’ll be able to “prove” what the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God is.

The word “prove” here doesn’t quite capture the full meaning. The original Greek word is “dokimazo,” which means to examine or scrutinise closely.
