I cant see the contradictions in the child protection bill, the one we have does not protect the child rather persons who could be adult or children, so when it comes to the court they are treated as one. In sane countries, there is a separate law for trafficking of children as they are vulnerable. I see the hands of those who deal in almajiri on this one as this law will make them criminals. Moving of kids from the village to the city would be criminal.

Bro I worked with NAPTIP during my NYSC, and there is division under it that handles child trafficking and abuse, they collaborate WITH UNICEF on this. Now the issue is NAPTIP is not properly funded to carry out implementation and enforcement, they rely on foreign aids. It was just recently last year that the Minister reviewed their budget upwards to handle proper enforcement
