Images leaked to the Sunday Telegraph show emaciated migrants packed into cramped cells in the searing Middle East heat. Prisoners say they are 'treated like animals' by Saudi guards who beat them with whips and electric cords and toss away the bodies of migrants who died of heatstroke or suicide. Saudi Arabia came under pressure for deporting thousands of illegal migrants when the pandemic first arrived, and has since been cramming them in prisons to stop them spreading the disease in their overcrowded homes. One image taken on a smuggled phone shows migrants lying nearly naked on the floor of a filthy cell with dozens of people crammed into neighbouring rooms. In another room, a corpse lay on the floor covered by a blanket after a migrant died of heatstroke - with others allegedly struggling for food and water. 'It's hell in here. We are treated like animals and beaten every day,' said Abebe, a migrant from Ethiopia. 'My only crime is leaving my country in search of a better life. But they beat us with whips and electric cords as if we were murderers.' Another migrant said that 'we have been left to die here', adding that he had not been outside the area of a school classroom since March Others said they have received no medical treatment and that filth from the toilets was overflowing into the cells. Human rights groups have long warned that prisons are potential disaster zones because of the possible spread of the disease in dirty, confined spaces. According to the Sunday Telegraph, one of the prisons is in Al Shumaisi near Mecca, while another is in Jazan near the border with Yemen. Those two alone are thought to contain hundreds of people, and there may be more prisoners in other parts of the compound. Human Rights Watch said the migrants were being subjected to 'squalid, crowded and dehumanising conditions' at the detention centres. A petroleum-rich state such as Saudi Arabia had 'no excuse' for detaining migrants in such conditions, a spokesman said. Saudi Arabia's government has not responded to the claims. The UN said in April that Saudi Arabia had deported 2,870 Ethiopian migrants to Addis Ababa since the start of the pandemic. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8681787/Inside-Saudi-Arabias-detention-centres-migrants.html

The spiritual leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele has reportedly disclosed what the church uses tithes paid by Church members for. Speaking on the amended Companies and Allied Matter Act CAMA at launch of his 2020/2021 edition of his annual book titled “Warning To A Nation”, Ayodele said the government doesn’t have business in Church matters as tithes collected by the church are dispensed to take care of widows and the underprivileged. Ayodele said: “The church is neither a public liability company nor an enterprise. Yes, we collect tithes in our churches but the tithes we collect are meant to take care of the widows and the under privileged in the church. We have been doing this for a long time.” You would recall that the newly signed law that gives government the power to appoint trustees for religious centres has generated public outrage and opposition. Many Christian unions and personalities have called the attention of the Buhari led administration to the negative effects of such law that has come to regulate the churches. https://oyogist.com/2020/08/cama-what-we-use-tithes-we-collect-in-our-churches-to-do-primate-ayodele-reveals/

The Shepherd of Inri Evangelical Spiritual Church, Oke Afa, Isolo, Lagos, Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele, has dismissed as dead on arrival the controversial Companies & Allied Matters Act (CAMA) recently passed into law by the Federal Governing. The fiery servant of God stated that the Federal Government has no right to interfere in the affairs and running of churches in the Nigeria. He expressed his reservations on the controversial CAMA law at the 26th Anniversary of his yearly book of prophecies, Warnings to the Nations (WTN), held yesterday at the church headquarters in Lagos. The celebration featured a public presentations of two of his latest books titled: “A Compendium of Ten Thousand & More Fulfilled Prophecies (a collection of divine signals from 1994-2020)’ and the 2020- 21 edition of “Warnings to the Nations.” While responding to questions from journalists, the renowned Prophet used the opportunity to address the CAMA controversy in Nigeria and other developments across the nations of the world. He condemned what he described as government’s attempt at interfering in the affairs of churches in the country through the CAMA Law, and declared that he was ready to go on 300 days fasting and prayer to stop the law. His words: “The government has made a mistake to poke nose into the affairs of churches in the country. The idea of church is divine. The CAMA Law can ruin the government because they want to fight God with the law. The government is yet to solve the problems of the nation. CAMA is dead on arrival. CAMA is a joke. I’m ready to go on 300 days prayer and fasting to fight CAMA Law.” Ayodele continued: “Government does not know how my church supports 6,000 widows and other less privileged with food items, money and empowerment monthly and cannot pick administrative bills to interfere in the affairs of the church.” He heaped the blames of the government’s attempt at interfering in the affairs of churches in the country on the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), which he said is weak and not proactive. The Primate said: “The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) needs a very strong and proactive leadership. Over the years, CAN leaders are stooges of the government. Why are the other fathers in the faith in this country not telling the truth to the government against CAMA? It is because of the stipends that they collect from the government.” Read more Here: https://www.newtelegraphng.com/primate-ayodele-goes-on-300-day-fasting-to-stop-law/

The Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation Lafiya Dole, has hit another Boko Haram terrorists’ structure at Warshale in Borno State, killing scores of the terrorists in recent airstrikes. The Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. John Enenche, in a statement on Friday, said the air task force had continued to yield tangible results across the theatre of operation. Enenche said the mission was executed after credible intelligence reports and series of aerial surveillance missions established that the settlement was one of those being used by the terrorists as a staging area to launch attacks. According to him, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets and attack helicopters engaged the location and recorded devastating hits resulting in the obliteration of several structures and killing of some of the terrorists. The statement read: “Air strikes being conducted by the Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE under the subsidiary Operation HAIL STORM have continued to yield tangible results. The latest of these is the destruction of several Boko Haram Terrorists’ (BHTs’) structures and neutralization of their fighters at Warshale in the Northern part of Borno State on 19 August 2020. The mission was executed after credible intelligence reports and a series of aerial surveillance missions established that the settlement was one of those being used by the terrorists as a staging area to launch attacks. Accordingly, the Air Task Force dispatched Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets and attack helicopters, which engaged the location recording devastating hits resulting in the obliteration of several structures as well as the neutralization of some of the terrorists. https://dailypost.ng/2020/08/21/boko-haram-military-destroys-more-terrorists-structures-kills-several-fighters-in-borno-video/
