And even in the same estate, what guarantee do you have that all the different camps have agreed to live in peace with you? What guarantee do you have that if you negotiate with the leaders, their foot soldiers will not think that they have collected some money that did not reach them, hence pick up their arms again?
“Now, let’s look at the peace deals. What do you do to the affected families; civilians, soldiers and other security personnel that lost their loved ones in the course of duty? Let’s assume the security personnel are combatants, their case may be different, what of the civilians who are desecrated, killed maimed, kidnaped and forced to pay ransom? Do you expect them to say okay, we are in peace agreement, so all those that committed the atrocities should continue to mingle within the communities without any legal action taken against them? All these issues make the peace deals unsustainable,” he said.
When asked about the way out, Major Glama said the only solution is for all the northern political and other leaders to put work together and be committed to ending the menace, “otherwise it will not end, with the way it is being handled at the moment.
“The whole issue has been politicised and it is our problem in the north. Nobody will come from somewhere and solve it for us. Unless and until our political leaders are willing to end this problem, the north will continue to bleed,” he said.
Talking about the Katsina mosque attack, Major Galma said communities and even security agents should note that whenever they secure victory over the bandits, they must be vigilant because the criminals would regroup for reprisals sooner or later.

givedemwotowoto: Even if Kwankwaso works with Tinubu, it’s very far from being enough.
Kwankwaso and Tinubu combined are 4 million votes at most. Add half of Buhari supporters who voted for Tinubu in 2023, you get 7 million votes total. Add mago mago, you may get up to 9 million votes max. Nothing more.
Atiku and Obi have 13 million votes already. Add half of Buhari supporters who voted for Tinubu in 2023, that’s 16 million votes. |

searchlight: I see anyone who is asking Atiku to step down for Obi as a Tinubu supporter. How on earth can Obi win presidential election in Nigeria from opposition? I am a strong Obidient from Anambra state and I told people that Obi will lose the 2023 election either by hook or crook.
Atiku is the only person that can wrestle power from Tinubu especially if he runs with Obi. Do you think Tinubu is a gentleman like Jonathan?
Do you think Northerners will threaten to burn down the country if Obi is rigged out?
I don't want anyone shouting rigging after Obi loses 2027 election again. The closest and the shortest route to Obi's presidency is through Atiku. If not that Buhari won in 2015, do you think Tinubu would have been the president today? Obi has to build bridges, support other and learn the ruggedity and rigging methods in Nigeria election before thinking of becoming the president.
He's the most qualified but Nigerian factor will always work against him.
Anyone can argue all he wants. You don't love Obiore than I do. Northern politicians have their own ambitions too. They know Atikus last shot is 2027 before they have chance again. They would rather stick to Tinuhu and wait for 2031 than Atiku and they wait till 2035. |

Victorodehankel: The aggrieved CPC bloc left even before the last election, what most people fail to realize is that the only person that can control the CPC 12m bloc vote is Buhari himself and that bloc vote left with him, none of the current leaders in the north can control half that number in loyalty votes, they are all money bag politicians and it will go for the highest bidder which means the governors in each state in the core north automatically takes his share of those votes for the candidate they will support in the Presidential election and as it stands now it will be almost impossible to defeat Asiwaju because most of the firs term governors in the north are all eying the Presidential seat in 2031 including serving ministers and they will all individually rather fight for Tinubu second term than support an Atiku ticket which will keep them off the mark for the next 16 years. This is my exact sentiment |
