I still don't understand how Nigerian youths cry unemployment.

You can literally go on YouTube right now and learn ANY SKILL FOR FREE, within a matter of weeks or even days.

Learn, it and then start offering the services as a business person.

What skills? Web Design, Fancy Bakery, Bar B Q Grilling, Computer Repair, Accounting, Event Management, Interior Design, Import/Export, I mean....every damn skill, man.

FREE OF CHARGE.

So why not learn a skill, hustle some starting capital, however small, and take off?

But no. Every day na Buhari this Buhari that.

We have Nigerians who are willing and ready to develop such app. But there are
many things that are needed to be put in place such as a conducive environment, the required resources and trainings e.t.c.... but where are those things not just our old curriculum education.

My friend go and sit down.

This whole excuse of ''we cannot be a developed country SINCE we are not a developed country'' is lazy and redundant.

Nigeria is a developing country. You will NOT have that 'conducive environment' El Dorado you demand before you can be productive.

Of Indians can create all sorts of apps, SO CAN YOU.

There is no problem we have in Nigeria which they don't have in India, from power cuts to corruption, to nepotism, tribalism etc.

Yet they do stuff regardless.

You must be proactive. Take one step at a time, and stay the course. If the idea is good, eventually you will blow.

You are right.

Most of the programmers arent business minded, also many just follow trends.

For instance, there was a period where everyone was building a payment gateway and ecommerce site because it was receving lot of funding, they forget that they can also create a localised Twitter and Facebook clone, others look down on those creating something like that. They told them you can't beat Facebook and Twitter.

Now the hype of payment gateway and ecommerce site is over, Twitter ban is here, none can produce anything. Maybe in the next months, we might see a Nigerian Twitter clone app.

There is an Indian one called kooo (it's actually a double o, bit this site rejects the word).

They are making inroads into Nigeria in the light of the Twitter ban.

They are doing some very aggressive moves as we speak.

You seem not to be concerned about businesses that are affected by this ban.

I'm not surprised

I'm more concerned by the mayhem and killings caused by Nnamdi Kanu via his vile utterings on Twiter, which incidentally have now been deleted by the platform.

Before you can talk business, you need a peaceful environment.

This may sound somehow but I bet you, there is much sense to it..our youth are on social media complaining and blaming people, ethnic group, religion and others for their misfortunes when an opportunity show up the will fail to even identify it because they are busy with blame games..we are all responsible for the rot in this country, we are contributing in one way or the other, trough our speech or our silence, actions/inactions we have all failed the country..

BRILLIANT.

The first sensible response so far.

Shame it took so long.

I'm tempted to insult U both but I think it would b a compliment. U are a Nigerian, why haven't U built ur own Twitter or ur own Facebook? Why hasn't the President upgraded Nigerian hospitals so dat he doesn't have to go to the UK for jus medical check ups. Why does the first family have to always go to Dubai? Some of U are jus pathetic. How many countries have developed their own Facebook? U are a Nigerian, what exactly have U done for Nigeria?

But I am not crying over Twitter. YOU are.

So it is YOU who feels the pain point as business people term it.

YOU should be the one feeling inspired to build a 'Twitter' type of app.

LEAVE the President and politicians out of this. They have provided you, and millions of other Nigerians, with the EDUCATION to excel.

So USE IT.

Since the solution is doing away with the problem, Nigerians don’t want the man, why can’t he go be the King of Northern Nigeria until death?

Sorry, he was voted into office. You have to wait for elections to replace him, and if you can't, tough luck.

They can't

I honestly believe they can.

There are many master programmers in Nigeria that can build just about any type of application.

But they are not business people, so they struggle to monetize their creativity.

We need young business people to work with them to release digital products to the market.

Una no get brain?

You so-called educated Nigerian youths that should see Twitter's ban as an OPPORTUNITY to use your own brains to develop a platform, are too busy shouting and abusing Buhari for banning Twitter, to employ your own creativity and innovation.

After all it was in this same Nigeria that some Lagos boys developed Paystack, which was later bought by Stripe for 200 million dollars.

So what is stopping you from building a 'Twitter' app, instead of crying that the FG took away business from oyinbo people?

Are you cursed to depend on whites all your lives?

Are you really a wasted, useless, hopeless, dependent generation?

Nigeria has 99 problems and Twitter isn't one of them, yet America and the people can't sleep at night over the same issue.

I don't know why there's so much fuss about an ordinary smart phone app when there are tons of apps out there.

The FG had banned an app and no amount of blackmail will make them reverse the decision.

Even worse, the so-called educated Nigerian youths that should see Twitter's ban as an OPPORTUNITY to use their own brains to develop a platform, are too busy shouting and abusing Buhari for banning Twitter, to employ their own creativity and innovation.

Wasted, useless, dependent generation.

Where was the above picture in the 16 years Nigeria was under PDP rule, which was SOUTHERN RULE, in which you just looted and looted, and looted, and the Fulanis were powerless?

WHY NO AHMADU BELLO PICTURE THEN?

Why didn't the SOUTH restructure Nigeria in those 16 years in power?

But it is the NORTH, which has the least to gain from restructuring, that you are insisting must do it via Buhari, a sworn nationalist?

Failing which you break up Nigeria?

Are you crazy?

Why not wait for the next elections in a year an half when it would be the south's turn to rule according to the long respected rotation policy?

THEN you can restructure Nigeria.

Don't expect a Fulani administration to lead the way in this. That's your job.

Honestly. Even in Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Benin, Jos, an Igbo person will become a foreigner, easy to be harassed and beaten by anyone, especially police.

If they think Nigerian police is bad to them now, imagine how it will be when they actually become foreigners in Nigeria.

Politics / IPOB Angry & Confused Over Trump's Support For Buhari by Rissimenky: 3:46am On Jun 09, 2021
Anger and confusion has hit the proscribed terrorist group IPOB, since the man they upheld as their No 1 international supporter, mentor, facilitator, and inspiration, stunningly voiced his support for President Muhammadu Buhari's banning of Twitter.

Trump, whose own Twitter account was banned by the popular US platform for allegedly flouting its rules, said he regretted not banning them himself during his term in office as US president, and was full of praise for the Nigerian president.

It is not known if furious IPOB thugs and their leaders would end their support for the popular US ex-president, following what they must see as a terrible betrayal.

President Buhari is not known for too many words, but there is no doubt the former army general is basking in the endorsement of his actions by the influential ex US president.
