There are many platforms of course but we are discussing Twitter not any other platform.
I don't even want to get into the Kooo argument because it exposes the hypocrisy of you government supporters. Kooo is described on google play as an app for the Indian community. Your government goes and intrudes on the indian community social media space in a most shameless manner and instead of you cringing at that you are dancing about it. What next? Are we going to be learning Hindu? I thought you guys were very jealous of our sovereignty

Why are you so addicted to pax Americana that your mind cannot conceive of any digital service that doesn't emanate from there?

Abi dem jazz you?

Kooo operates in English, so it is crazy talking about 'Hindu'. They are expanding rapidly across the world.

Nigerian youths should look to build an app like Twitter instead of bemoaning the loss of Twitter like friggin' dependents.

I know we may have our differences but let's try and be honest at times. Can you take a good look at the picture of Lai Mohammed and that pretty monkey up there and tell me there's no similarity? So if MNK calls you zoo monkeys it's because it's true. Please let's be honest.

The trouble with your position is that you are actively engaged in dehumanising your own self, thinking you are directing this at 'others'.

I guess it's down to your low IQ, that you can't see this.

Twitter can pay off your national debt and still have plenty of change.

NO THEY CAN'T.

THEY THEMSELVES ARE IN DEEP DEBT, TO 5.2 BLLION DOLLARS, AND MADE ONLY 1.2 BILLION DOLLARS IN PROFITS LAST YEAR.

https://simplywall.st/stocks/us/media/nyse-twtr/twitter

So they are not in a position to pay off anyone's debt when they owe so much money themselves. wink

ONE RICH NIGERIAN can pay off Twitter's entire debt and even dash them money to pretend they made profits.

Good you said potentially. It means you're projecting into the future.

At present though, twitter is not making much from Nigeria. As a matter of fact. The number of active accounts on twitter from Nigeria (40m) is less than half of the number of followers of Donald Trump (88m) who got banned. The number of monetizable users is significantly less if you consider how many of those 40m is actually double and parodies and even fake.
However, almost all agencies of the Federal govt and states have accounts on Twitter. This helps in information dissemination. If each agency were to be paying Twitter for each tweet like they do for PBAs with the mainstream media, I bet it will be running into millions of dollars. In that sense, Twitter is actually saving Nigeria money and not making money from Nigeria.

The problem with your argument is that Twitter is not unique technology.

You might as well say that using cars and buses is saving Nigeria billions since we don't need to walk everywhere!

If Twitter goes, there are MANY platforms that will do the exact same thing they are doing, and even more.

There is that Indian platform, Kooo, making very aggressive moves into the Nigerian market since the Twitter ban.

Considering Nigeria is Africa's largest and most buoyant internet ecosystem with over 120 million users, and is projected to be the world's 3rd most populous country after India and China by 2050, I'd say she's worth potentially several billions of dollars to Twitter.

Now that that's cleared up, let's ask this question:

What is Twitter worth to Nigeria?

Virtually nothing.

There are many platforms lining up to replace them.

Sorry, but I told you this would be short and quick. undecided

If you had a working brain, you would inquire HOW they are doing well, rather than just assume it is something to do with their character/abilities/etc.

All the oil and Coast Nigeria has, it is still poverty capital of the world. Anyone who thinks that a diminishing asset like oil will save them is someone who will always be poor like Nigeria.

You are a spiteful, worthless, satanic ingrate to be insulting a nation that has provided millions of your people with the opportunity to settle on their lands in your millions, allowing you to make money and improve your lives, while all you can return is spite and hate.

YOU ARE A DISGRACE, and deserve nothing good from Nigeria.

Your spiteful type will make Nigeria DEPORT all 15 million of you back to your little HOLE of a landlocked country.

jUST TRY TO SECEDE WITH the Niger Delta, and watch how quick you become HISTORY as en ethnic group, you hear?

I cant speak for anyone except my tribe Igbo, but we are business like people. We dont need any oil or coastline to make Biafra a success.

We only need our freedom

THEN GO AND ASK KANU WHY he rejected that ''freedom'' or are you dumb?

Kanu said he rejected the 5 Igbo states offered to him as Biafra while he was in prison, saying he wanted the delta as well.

If he had agreed, you would be in your Biafra republic today, free as a bird.

SO GO AND ASK KANU WHY HE REJECTED THE LANDLOCKED BIAFRA SOLUTION.

YOUR PROBLEM IS WITH KANU AND IPOB, NOT NIGERIA.

THEY ARE THE ONES KEEPING YOU IN NIGERIA, NOT BUHARI.

Ok, with or without SS, the Igbo's could have a country, but Nigeria will engulf the country, they will just be like a small dot in a circle and that is what they are scared of, its not necessarily oil.

They won't go with the north cos they (North) will marginalize them, they won't also follow the west cos they will also marginalize them, their only hope is the SS, cos that is the people they can intimidate as every tribe there is small, the SS are scared of the Igbo's cos of past history so the SS won't give in

NK is just cunny

I disagree.

If IGBOLAND was home to the oil rather than the Niger Delta, they would secede with those 5 Igbo states TODAY, and be happily landlocked.

They would simply find a way to negotiate access to the Atlantic coast via some kind of corridor.

Their reasoning would be 'better to keep all the oil money to ourselves than have to share it with the delta people!'

GENTLEMEN, LET US NOT KID OURSELVES.

Without the south-south included in their map, the Biafran dream is done. Finished. End of story.

IPOB knows it. Kanu knows it. ESN, MASSOB and other such entities ALL know and recognise that fact.

I mean, these folks are not the sharpest tools in the box, but they are smart enough to know that the the Igbo territory is unviable as a single, sovereign country without the Niger Delta Atlantic coast and oil fields.

They are not fighting and killing people and agitating, so that they can have the right to sit around in Enugu or Aba sharing palm oil export proceeds.

Imagining that ANY of these guys would accept an Igbo nation WITHOUT the Niger Delta is a sign that you don't really understand what motivates the people leading your BIAFRA MOVEMENT.

It is not love for you.

It is love for oil and their pockets.

It is not about YOU.

It is about THEM.

Think about it.

Why would anyone leave what he is doing and go risk his life fighting Nigerian forces just to make life better for YOU?

WHY?

Can't you see you're living a delusion?

Wake up and smell the coffee.

You are a Nigerian, just as an American is an American.

It is not something you can change.

Nigeria will simply not allow the Igbos to corner the oil resources of the country which account for 3 quarters of its annual earnings! grin

Demanding it is like asking Nigeria to commit suicide.

It's not gonna happen.

Move on with your life.

That map just posted above is an almost exact replica of Lesotho, a sovereign nation surrounded by South Africa.

Just last week, the Lesotho govt made an official request to become part and parcel of South Africa.

They realised, as the Igbos might one day, that they had merely created a prison for themselves within their own country (South Africa).

I mean, what does it profit an average Igbo man. Guy man, to suddenly turn an illegal alien in Lagos?

LAGOS MY GUYS? grin

God is not a God of fraud and wholesale resource theft

Your Biafra is an attempt by a region that produces virtually ZERO oil, or any natural resources at all, to corner the oil resources of the Federation of Nigeria, which contribute 75% to the national government's annual foreign exchange income.

It is a bare faced OIL GRAB attempt masquerading as a 'fight for freedom'.

This was starkly proven after we learned from Kanu's own lips that he had been offered the 5 Igbos states as Biafra while in prison, and he had refused, insisting he must have the Niger Delta states.

By that singular act, he showed what his agitation is really all about.

He sacrificed the much vaunted Igbo nationhood on a barrel of crude oil.

It just shows that the US are DELIBERATELY using social media to promote their imperialist agenda.

Nigeria is saying NO to that, and they can't accept it!

Because it is coming down on them very soon.

But YAHWEH, who gave them that wealth, has promised to take it back.

AMERICA WILL CRASH WITH THE KIND OF LOUD SOUND THE WORLD HAS NEVER HEARD.

It's all been prophesied in Revelations.
