Attached to the verifying affidavit in support of the summons were photocopies of INEC Form CF 001, filed by Mr. Bola Tinubu and affidavit titled "Affidavit in support of lost certificates sworn to by Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Today's Newspaper captioned "Tinubu in fraud sensation." The said affidavit of the applicant alleged amongst others that the affidavit in respect of lost certificate to by Mr. Bola d Tinubu contained false statement and false declaration made under oath in that;

(i) the deponent and declarant, Mr Bola Ahmed Tinubu (now Governor of Lagos State) did not attend Government College, Ibadan between 1965 and 1968 as claimed

(ii) Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu did not attend the University of Chicago between 1972 and 1976 as claimed

(iii) Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu did not obtain a B.Sc. degree in Economics from the University of Chicago as claimed

Reacting to the summons, the Respondents filed a counter affidavit and preliminary objection to the effect that, the honourable trial court lacked jurisdiction to hear the application since the applicant lacked locus standi. Secondly, that the application is contrary to S.380 (1) (a) (b) (c) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria which relates to the Constitutional Immunity of the Governor from the relief sought by the applicant.

The learned trial Judge in his ruling upheld the preliminary objection of the defendants and dismissed the originating summons. The trial court held that to order the Defendants to investigate the allegation of crime against Mr. Ahmed Bola Tinubu will necessarily involve the taking of evidence from the Governor, taking of oath which means that he would be arrested and cautioned. Such investigation will offend against S.308 (1) (a) (b) (c) of the constitution. Dissatisfied the applicant appealed to the Court of Appeal while the defendants cross-appealed. The contention of the Appellant is that the investigation was not prohibited by S.308 of the Constitution but only a legal proceedings - are prohibited.

In their cross-appeal the Respondent argued that exhibits GF1, GF2 and GF3 being public documents were inadmissible not having been certified as true copies pursuant to S.97 of the Evidence Act. The cross-respondent (Appellant) filed a notice of preliminary objection to the cross-appellants' issues for determination alleging that issue, did not flow from the grounds of appeal and that issue 2 was not based on the ruling delivered by the learned trial Judge. The Court of Appeal overruled the preliminary objection on the ground that the Cross-appellants' issues were properly raised. Delivering judgement on the entire appeal.

If Bab El-Mandeb falls into the hands of the Houthis, Saudi Arabia can kiss crude oil exports goodbye. But that isn't enough. The Houthis have developed their own precision guided missiles that they can target vital assets in Saudi Arabia. Critical crude oil extraction facilities in Saudi Arabia have been shut down as a result.

In 2002, Saudi Arabia, the US and the UK engaged in a brutal bombing campaign against the Houthis and achieved nothing positive.
