Leave nairaland idle banter, Igbo get people! all sorts of people for that matter! The day Ijaws make the error of attacking Igbos, we will cure their madness wella.........let ijaw braggadocio remain online o! Igbos that have taken on almajiris in kano and bested them, fought all Nigerians with one arm tied behind our backs by Great Britain for a bloody 30 months civil war, taken on fulani herdsmen and their army accomplices since January and forced a stalemate!................Igbos are not itshekiris o,it will end in bitter tears for ijaw people.

Noise as always.
Continue chest beating.
We don't talk much, we act.
Ask Kanu, when he ran away from the army that came, where was he all that while before he surfaced in Israel.
The Ijaws are like a God to you people

Interesting view. How come Jaja didn't give Opobo an Igbo name?

This is not a battle these guys will want to fight, instead of building alliances and forhing forward, they keep giving other groups a clue of what they will do if given the opportunity to rule...

Jaja cudnt name Opobo an Ibo name cos he knows that if he had tried that, na eviction get am.
Some of them don't even know how Jaja got the land Opobo.
Let them continue winning online battles, the real winners are occupying the lands

Igbos should just forget about them if opobo and bonny indigens themselves don't want to belong to the larger igbo nation. Igbos should only fight for them if they vehemently refused to join the ijaws kwara state naturally belonged to the yorubas but has been conquered by the fulanis no need for unnecessary blood letting because of two little towns.

I am from Opobo, we are not ibos.
We are true n true Ijaws.
They know it but are hiding under the cover of say some persons there speak Ibo.
Ever since Buhari said they are a dot in a circle, they have been trying very hard to prove that they are not.
Since Buhari speech, do you know how many threads they have opened for Opobo n Bonny alone.
Its a world record.
Let them try harder, we the Ijaws don't brag over anything, and that is our greatest strength we act wen the time comes.

Let them come n chase us away.

Eastlink made these suggestions and I agree 100%. And if I had the resources I would have sponsored them.
He says.....

"

Bringing facts here on Nairaland is a right step in the right direction, but more needs to be done. Such as.
1. Inviting Bonny/Opobo people to Igbo the cultural gathering as was the case with the forgotten Ahajioku festival held in Owerri. King Jaja Jeki V used to be a guest.

2. Informing Ohaneze or any Igbo group to open up Igbo associations in Bonny. Getting King Pepple of Bonny and King Jaja of Opobo to endorse these pro-Igbo Ubani unions.

3. Sending an Igbo delegation to visit with Bonny/Opobo.

4. Sponsorship of Igbo language competitions in Bonny/Opobo.

5. Opening of Facebook groups where Igbophilic Bonny/Opobo indigenes are admin. This will help to counter the guerrilla warfare being financed and sponsored by INC/IYC.

6. Supporting Pro-Igbo Bonny/Opobo sons like Dakuku Peterside for Governorship.

7. Sponsoring historians to write the true Bonny Igbo origin history of her Kings and people that will give Alagoa’s fraudulent revision the death knell.

"

Culled from Eastlink

That wud be a wasted effort.
It will yield nothing las las.

Go ahead n see if I am ready to say I am Ibo. Continue.

They are only trying to twist history which they have succeeded here in Nland bit on ground, we dey kampe nothing do us.

How come we don't address our king as Eze but Amanyanabo?

Dunce, the earliest recorded history of Igboland is what will be used and not Aboki military creations of yesterday.

All recorded data dating back to early 1600's, 1700's and after by both the Portuguese and English explorers all recorded that Igbo clans, particularly the Ndoki established Opobo, Bonny and Azumini areas! Till date, all these areas still speak Igbo language and practice Igbo culture!

Even the first Igbo language Bible was written in Bonny Igbo dialect!

That we lost a civil war doesn't mean our native lands will be taken away from us! Germany lost the WW11 and was divided into two with communists ruling the East Germany but at the end of the day, the Iron Curtain fell and they were reunified!

Pray that Nigeria doesn't break up because the day it breaks up is the day Bonny and Opobo will be reunified fully with the rest of Igbo country. We have the exhibits and all facts on our side to win in any court of arbitration and if any fool thinks they can stand on our way, we push them all into the Atlantic ocean.

Bonny, Opobo and Azumini will host three of our ports and we will ensure they become prosperous cities.

Na dream you dey dream abi na wetin.
You well like this so.

What time can we meet up at the King Jajas play ground tomorrow? I'm coming with my camera to take pictures and start interviews as well, thank God I'm finally meeting someone from Nairaland who is man enough to at least show up.

It's not saying they are Igbos or not Igbos that's not relevant. When you've brainswashed them and called them Igbo slaves, what do you want them to say? If I said your forefathers were Ijaw slaves, how would you feel. Be in their situation.

We want to know if they speak Igbo. undecided

Language alone does not determine the true origin of a people.

Wow...such a fantastic monument.

But, I am curious? Are there 2 or more types of ijaw? Because I am wondering why Bonny and Opobo would be celebrating Nwaotam? but Sagbama and Gbaramaturu does not despite the fact that they are motherland like you claimed.

Nwaotam is a borrowed play in Opobo n Bonny.
But it has come to stay as it is a play used to identify the people.
That is not the only masquerade being played in Opobo.
Every 25th of December, it is played in Port Harcourt (talking of the Opobo own) and 1st of January in Opobo. Bonny plays theirs on the 15th of December.

Now, after nwaotam is played on the 1st, it ushers in the celebrations in the town, where other masquerades play like Owu-tariah etc.

Don't take that to mean the town is purely Ibo nah!
This is 6:30pm this is a pic of the waterfront.

lol, confusion in the camp of drug dealing land grabbers.
do you know how many Eze'ndigbo they have all over Nigeria?
eze'ndigbo Lagos, Eze'ndigbo ogun, Eze'ndigbo Ondo.
The igbos are known travelers, entering everywhere uninvited.
they wanted to do that at cross river (Eze'ndigbo of Cross river) the cross river traditional rulers agressively halted it.
if care is not taken, 9pluto, Ekealterego, Igboid, Bkayy, SlayerForever of the future in 400 years time will claim the igbos owned those states.

igbos who don't have affinity to water, who dread the swamp and mangroves now suddenly claiming to be Water people.
Father lord!
Igbos who were slaves in Bonny just as pepple and crowther said.
igbos who were given freedom by Asimini because they showed they aided him in war.

funny enough, land grabbing clowns never want to talk about the ijoh enculturating ritual. (I will write a thread about THE ENCULTURATING RITUAL) where certain rites and spiritual practices are carried out before the spirits to change a person's ancestral identity.
if ijohs weren't the land lord, why were igbos enculturated
Ekealterego, 9pluto etc answer.

why were there enculturating rituals performed on Igbo slaves??
infact the igbos should stop seeing Jaja as Igbo anymore, he swore before the spirits, cleansed his blood, renounce his ancestry and tribe, even his name to be JUBO JUBOGHA.
that alone is big prove that the ijos were the owners, lord and master of the Igbos, and bonny.

how about we think of names to rename our slaves?

I earlier renamed Ekealterego OTONYE DOMOKUMA
9pluto, SlayerForever Igboid biafrarep bkayy needs to be renamed ASAP.
