Nightstalker: I am a Christian, was born one and have been a christian all my life.Truly i am not so religious but i always try not to take the Lord's name in vain and to live a good life..
I shun any thing illegal and work legit, But there is a secret i have never shared with a soul till this day. I cant explain it but i recall as a child the first time i heard the muslim call to prayer, it shook ,e to my cire. i mean goose bumps rose on my skin and i felt like not leaving the vicinity. I was around 8 years old- As a child i couldnt label these emotions but as an adult now i am certain of them. Then i remember when i was a teenager around 16 i had a vidi dream clear as day . i saw myself in a valley, in a large expanse of land i was on a hill leading thousands oof muslims in prayer.. due to what i was being told that islam is a wrong religion this dream worried me deeply. The next morning i confided in my mum when we returned from church that sunday. I told her my dream and she started telling me that before i was born when she was about 6 months pregnant with me she had a similar dream.
She said she saw a tall man wearing jalamia muslim gown for men standing before her and she felt at peace. So my mom told me not to worry and just be prayerful and go to church more.
To be honest i have this irresistible pull towards islam, all my life. Infact i used to secretly have muslim prayers and songs on my Ipod when i was in unilag back then.
If i wasnt born a christian in a pure christian family i would have loved to be a muslim. To be frank i want to convert but i am terrified what my family and friends would say. I would loose so much if i did this.. But my heart is not in church anymore..
I am totally satisfied with christianity and the materialism, the non living feel of the whole thing. I have sat down and confided in a friend who told me all sorts of terrible things about the Prophet Mohammed, but still. There is something islam does in me i just cant explain. words cant just explain. But i am afraid to let my family know this. I dare not.. But i lie every time i visit my mum or she calls and asks me if i read my bible and pray. I haven't read a bible in over 15 years . I pray daily in the morning and evening but i tell the Lord to help me find myself because i feel lost .
We don't have any muslims in our family at all we are all christian in the family, so i have no one to confide in. And again what i read about terrorism and islam gets me nervous but i feel its the misguided ones that does these things just like in christianity we have yahoo pastors and ritual pastors right?
To be honest the terrorism part is one part that really worries me about islam... I just need to understand.. Please are there any christians who have experienced this too? Am i alone? what do i do?
Please dont come and preach to me just share your mind
I am truly in emotional turmoil for years now. My spirit is just conflicted
CC r231, Freiburger Mynd44 Seun Do whatever you find peace in. If that's where you find peace, do it. Just be a good Ambassador of the religion and not a jihadist. I'm a Christian, but not against Muslim. |

BRASH: That's why we have laws. But unfortunately, our laws are weak and cannot bite. If you indict anybody for crime and he happens to know someone in the right office, he will escape punishment. When people realize that they will definitely be punished for their crimes, maybe some of them will behave well Some Nigerians don't even fear the law, even in saner countries, they still disobey the law, that's why you see some people carrying drugs into countries that have strong law against drug, even when they know the penalty is death |

hollah123: This is the plain truth, just imagine one day I was checking a thread on nairaland about Singapore n a guy wrote it there that he has d student visa already but he's thinking of white powder(drugs) as side hustle....just imagine we complain Nigeria is bad but when we go to places where things work we still do bad.
Me personally I am a Nigerian but in my whole life I will never trust a Nigerian, just last night in my lodge a fight broke out n u will b surprised to know what caused it
Like 4 people organised weekly contribution for months, believe u me when it was time for a guy to collect his own share, the leader said he lost d record book n he couldn't ascertain if the guy has been paying regularly despite d fact that others were testifying that he pays regularly. They agreed to take the case to the station n he used a line "nothing wey police wan do me,Na 5k go settle am n I go pay d money monthly for 3 years".......like seriously I felt bad but I just lock up since e no concern me.just imagine That's the mentality of Nigerians, all we could think of is way of acquiring a lot of people's wealth to be someone's own alone. You see some Nigerians still going into scam in foreign countries, where the resources to live well is available. Nigeria is not the only country having problem with the government, but you'll hardly see the other countries citizens to involves their self in scamming or stealing. |

Diamondniyi: Who motivated the citizens?? Is it not your governments. 25years ago when we had better governments, is this how everything was? Trust me, main problem facing this nation are our leaders. 20% of the problems come from citizens Were they not ordinary citizens before assuming the political post? They've had the mindset to steal before becoming public servant, and that's the mindset of average Nigerians. We see how some people who are not politicians embezzles money in their place of work as well, and also see how a brother thinks of duping his own kins. |

IMAliyu: You can even test this.
Try casually asking a Nigerian youth, "if you were to enter power and have the opportunity, will you steal?" The answer is often disappointing. The answer will be "I will even do worse, I will eat my own national cake", I'm always sad to her youths giving such response, that's when I got to know that, black mentality is different from white, all black could think off is corruption. |
Family › Re: Please Help. My Brother Is On The Fast Lane To Destruction by robinso01(m): 2:42pm On Aug 18, 2020 |
I wanna say a big thanks to everyone of you for your contributions, i really do appreciate.
I have read everything here, many brilliant ideas i would say. I always knew i could count on you guys. Unfortunately i cannot respond to every moniker that mentioned me but I'll try to respond to a few points raised.
Now, the reason i wanted to involve some community youths or the military was (coz the idea has been shelved) because of his habit of stealing my mums money. We used the military before because he stole money using my mums atm card and also from her phone, he'd been taking money for long before that incident but because of the trust mum has for her kids that she raised us well she didn't wanna believe my brother was responsible because he did it in a way everyone of us doubted he was the one not until the atm issue. So we resorted to make him talk by drilling him. So the primary reason for that was because he stole, by then we didn't know he was a drug addict, we only knew he did weed.
About a week after the drilling was when he admitted doing drugs and told his story how he started and got addicted. We were shattered, but more than willing to help him through it. He realized he was actually on the wrong path, was sombre and wanted/still wants to come out of it. Why i contemplated the idea of drilling him wasn't really for his drug addiction but for him stealing mums money coz he started again but like i said the idea has been shelved. I talked with my other bro, we decided a change of strategy which we already implemented. We're very hopeful and optimistic it will work out, though we know it won't be automatic.
Someone suggested I involve my father. My bro isn't even on speaking terms with my dad but we can't fault him, my dad messed up. My bro doesn't really have any fond memories of him. And truth be told my dad isn't exactly the father figure one wants to look up to, nothing to emulate whatsoever, very unfortunate. He abandoned us and my mum became our father and mother.
Some of you think I'm female, lol. We're 4 siblings, 3 guys and a lady. I'm not the lady. I'm the eldest with the lady and the other guy inbetween, same parents.
Yes he's addicted as it is RN, but it isn't at the critical stage. We're very very concerned for his future and even he is too because this guy is intelligent and very talented. He knows he needs to quit and urgently else he'll never amount to anything in life. Mumsi called me last night and said they spoke at length, hopefully it will end in praise.
I'll come here to update us on his progress one in a while.
Once again I'm grateful to all of you, i can't thank you guys enough. God bless

Like I do always say, government is not the problem of Nigeria, but individuals. There's no excuse to be a thief, a thief is a thief. I've seen a lot of situations where Nigerians scam each others, is the government also responsible for that also. Nigerians just have bad mentality, all we could think of is getting joy by making others cry. |

Secondly, is everything about kids? We have millions of homeless kids already.
What matters most is being with the person you love. I find it enormous, by loving the same gender as you are. I hate homosexual, it's not accepted here and hope it remains so forever in Nigeria. |

Danhoys: You can't compare homosexuality to stealing. Homosexuals are not hurting anyone, just two consenting adults.
Stealing tends to hurt people, and death. You have no reason to justify your hate for the LGBTQ community. We were not created to practice sexual intercourse with the same gender, moreover, Nigeria law doesn't allow it. |

Perhaps if you understand, you won't have to judge them so much. There's no reason to justify homosexual, it's like saying you have a reason for stealing. Homosexual is not allowed here in Nigeria, just respect the law, u fit go where it's allowed to dey practice am. |
