BushidoBlue:How does impeaching Buhari save our Naira? You need to ask yourself how can you save the Naira? Incase you didn't know, the official dollar to Naira rate is 199 Naira. |
Living in Nigeria is hard, i am suffering the effects of the falling Naira on the parallel market as prices of goods and services have continue to rise. It continues to gets worse everyday and i tell you living in Nigeria just got tougher. As if, it is not bad enough, the two biggest political parties have been throwing blame games and i wonder how that will save our Naira. The simple reason why the Naira is falling is 'NOBODY WANTS NIGERIA NOT EVEN NIGERIANS'. I am not here to into details of how we got here but to help us look at things differently. Everywhere I go, all I hear is complains with little or no solutions. Almost everyone I have spoken to about this issue keeps asking "Why are we not producing ordinary toothpick in Nigeria?" but non of them has written a business plan on the production of toothpicks in Nigeria. This makes me worry as I am 110% sure complaining don't solve problems. Falling Naira is a problem, we all must come together and do something about it. We cannot keep complaining and do nothing about it. In the spirit of doing something about it, I have decided to blog about it. I will not to go into details of what the government needs to do to save the Naira but will list something Nigerians can do to save the Naira. Patronize Made in Nigeria: Nigerians need to understand the reason why we need to patronize ourselves. Let me try to explain with this simple example. If you own a barbing salon, majority of your customers will live in Nigeria, so if you don't buy what Nigerians make, the less likely your customers can pay for a haircut. So look at it this way "Buying Nigeria makes Nigerians richer. Richer Nigerians means business growth". Talk about Solutions not Problems: I see this as one of the greatest challenges of Nigerians. I find it funny that most government workers go to work to talk Nigeria's problems but never talk solutions. These are the closest people to the government and should only talk, think and make solutions. We all need to understand 'For every problem, there is a solution'. Talking problems leads nowhere but more problems. Start or Support a Business: Nigeria needs to be self-sufficient before we can export. We need to reduce our importation and the only way to do this is to create businesses. If we have to stop importing toothpick we need to start producing toothpick. The economy looks scary but this is the best time to start a business in Nigeria. Think Positive and Believe in Nigeria: This is the most important of all. We need to think positive. We need to believe in ourselves. I find it scary that an average Nigerian thinks negative first. A Nigerian will tell you 2 billion reasons why it won't work forgetting that there are 10 billion reason why it will work. If we can switch our negativity to positivity, the world is ours. Nigerians are Good People: I really wonder how we got this wrong. I wonder why we think Nigerians are bad people or fraudsters. It is no doubt that about 1% of Nigerians are bad but why should we allow the actions of 1% or less make us conclude that the remaining 99% are bad or fraudsters. We need to change our first impression from "First treat a Nigerian as fraud till proven otherwise" to "First treat a Nigerian as good till proven otherwise". I really love Nigeria and wish us the best. These are trying times but what we do now determines what we become. We cannot continue complaining and expect things to change, we need to take actions to save the Naira. Please, feedback is welcomed. Thanks for reading. http://blog.ayokunle.com/falling-naira-complain-or-invest/ |
Yes, the elections are here again and the political tension in Nigeria is high. Four years ago we elected some politicians to guide us towards a better future. The 4-year tenure is over and it's time for us to elect new leaders who will lead us towards a great future. The aspiring leaders keep making promises on Agriculture, infrastructure and education, they always manage to ignore Information and Communications Technology. Since the elections are really close by, I will like to talk about what we in the ICT industry want. In the next four years whether GEJ or GMB we need an improvement in the ICT sector. From my findings, it looks like the ICT industry has done more for the Government that the Government does for it; the economy has advanced more in the past 10 years as a result of ICT, especially the Banking and Telecommunications sector. I was shocked when I searched on Google for "What government can do for technology" only to get more results answering "What technology can do for government". Here in Nigeria our government has not been able to benefit much from ICT and the reason is not far fetched from points to be discussed in this post. I have listed a few things that the government can do to support us. Government should use and support Nigerian Technology: The quickest way to grow an industry is if the government patronises the industry. Take a good look at China, South Korea and Japan, those guys are causing chaos positively in the ICT world. Government is seen as the biggest spenders and their interest to spend in a sector always results in investment and growth of the sector. So many of our National ICT projects are done outside Nigeria and that has resulted in the poor growth of the ICT sector. An example is the National ID Card project. Even with the huge number of cards to be produced, the project was contracted to a company outside the shores of Nigeria. Our Government could have used this opportunity to promote our indigenous companies. Provide or Finance ICT hubs around the country: I must say i give my respects to CcHub Nigeria for their contribution to ICT in Nigeria. But many more hubs are needed all over the country. This can be achieved by Government providing soft loans and direct investment. Hubs will help provide electricity and internet to youths interested in ICT at affordable rates. The hubs also provide training, networking and financing to interested youths. Redesign our Nigeria's Official Website: This might not sound related but our website looks awful and projects our ICT industry in very bad light. Our website is supposed to be our pride but with what we have there currently i must say i am ashamed to be a Website Designer in Nigeria. I won't mind working with our government to redesign the website to something much more appropriate. I laughed recently when someone said INEC has an online database that was going to be hacked, it was ridiculous. Our Nation needs to move forward and improve on data collection, handling and storage in all sectors of the economy. Well, i hope i said it well for ICT sector. I hope the elected officials get to read this post. If you feel i left something out, please add a comment so our government can know. Nekon J: First thing your table structure should beLemme just continue from here. This should be on the page you want to display the states and lga Your jquery should look like this
Am assuming you are using select <select></select> This is how your select should look like
On the ajax.php file you should have this:
This will change the LGA on the page anytime there is a change on the states. I hope i have been able to explain myself well. Find attached a list of the countries in the world, states and LGAs in Nigeria. (I hope it attaches) |
Sorry about your website. I can see that it has been hacked. Contact the host. Mail them or visit their website and raise a ticket. Also go and check if your email has not been hacked. Good luck on your pursuit |
Why do u think its hacked. Its not linking. |
Sublime text goto http://www.sublimetext.com its light and it does the job for almost all languages. |
U dont need css to achieve this result. CSS is for design. |
What you need is javascript or jquery |
What do you want to develop on dreamweaver? |
U ve to create a table in ur database with all the states. Each state must have a unique key. Create a table for local govt and link each local govt with the unique key of its state. U are going to use ajax and php to complete this task. It is necessary you have a knowledge of jquery also. Am using my phone to comment so its not really easy to comment well. U will need 2 files. The php file where the change will be made on the select button and a php file where u will query db for local govt. It will be beta if u load the states from database straight and include the state uniqueu need to write a jquery function to perform an ajax anytime an action is performed to load d local govts (eg when a user changes d select button). u can now send the state to the php file as post or get to the php file to query the database for lga with the state. On completion echo the display way u want it to work. Please i am using my mobile now and cant type well but once i get to my system i will upload codes on how it works. Sorry for poor write up and incomplete explanation. In lagos traffic...... |

I use a tecno L3 and the battery life is impressive but my issue with tecno is the screen sensitivity but it doesnt happen always. I might be pressing m and b will be displaying. It gets so frustrating. I dont know if its just my phone, tecno or L3 |
Bro my advice might be harsh but i tell u its worth it. I tell u d truth sometimes u ve to do sometin stupid to get a wonderful result. I believe bfor bringing ur problem here u ve spoken with ur wife nd she still acts d same way. U ve to man up and stand ur ground. Whatever they tell u to do aalways do the opposite, let them know that their opinion does not matter. Be sure that u will hear lots of insults but dont let it change ur opinion to theirs. Make sure u only do what u and ur wife agree upon. Any issue u and ur wife doesnt agree upon never take it serious. whenever they come to plead with u always agree with them but after they leave do the exact opposite. They cant beat u neither can they kill u, worse they can do is take their wife away anf when they do i guarantee u that ur wife will understand what she has been doing and blame her family nd self. I tell u they ll read d writing on d wall and soon start sending ur wife to settle her matter with u. I knw its nt easy but u ve to make up ur mind and let them knw its ur family option that matters and nt the public. Thats my advice. Its nt easy but u ve to teach them d hard way nd stop agreeing and doing what they say. |

From the trend so far on this topic i see a lot of midnight prayer supporters saying "One is more vulnerabe at night cos of witches and wizards operate at night". Are you trying to say your prayers during the day that God should protect you at night while sleeping is void? I totally disagree. Prayer is communicating with God and God has made Himself available to us at all time and everywhere. It is now left to us his followers to choose when and how to communicate with Him (God). The most important thing is to make sure we are always in communication with God, hence the Bible says "Pray without ceasing". Keep you communication with God open and he will never leave you. Whether its day or night is irrelevant if you are not actually communicating while praying. Its not you prayers that save you from witches and wizards or any evil doings, it is God, so don't give the Glory of answered prayers to the time or place of your prayer. |
Babaji111: You are right. Infact, I am short of word to hear how some Christian reason...how they figure who the Al-Mighty God is. Some body is talking of disturbing God. For those who don't know who God is, try to know HIM first before worshiping HIM. People forget to reason of how Supernatural, how Mighty and how Powerful is the Al-Mighty God. The Creator of Heavens and Earth, The Overseer and Sustainer of all living things from micro-organisms to whale,.Alhamdu-Lillah! my religion has taught me a lot.Just because you have an understanding does not mean everyone does. When people ask questions like this, they are trying to know so as to become better. As much as your religion has taught you enough our own Religion has taught us enough and has given us opportunity to improve by relating with each other and growing |
Your question is the same as asking "Is there any benefit in praying?". The question should not be the time you pray but rather how you pray. Prayer is the act of communicating with God. Whichever time you pray does not enhance or influence your communication with God but the way you communicate with God does. God is Omnipotent and Omnipresent meaning he is available at all time and everywhere. As much as you will find people with miracles to tell after nights of prayer you will also find people with miracles even after 20 secs of prayer in a day. If you will sleep while praying at night its no use praying. Pray when you know you will be able to communicate best with your God and if you feel night is the best time then go ahead but don't be forced to believe prayer at night is more effective or faster. God knows whats on our heart even before we open our mouth to pray. The only time in the Bible given to us to pray is "PRAY without CEASING" 1st Thess 5:17 (not night or day). Thank you.
