TravelRe: Cost Of Relocating Permanently To Ghana by Roccoandrocco(op): 7:43am On Apr 23, 2016
successcard:
It's a good thing that you're considering moving to Ghana. Your safety and peace is a surety in this great nation. To begin with, I will like you to know the exchange rate first so that you can draw your own conclusions: $1 = 3.8 Cedis. If you're cool with that, then let me shed some light on the living standards in all regions in the country. The standard of living in Accra and Tema(Both cities in the Greater Accra region) is higher compared to most part of the country. This is because it is more cosmopolitan and vibrant compared to the other cities, and it also serves as the major economic hub of the country.
Next, Kumasi(Ashanti region) and Takoradi(Western region) seems to be on par in terms of cost of living. Kumasi is more of a business district where as Takoradi is the oil city of the country. Ho(Volta region), Koforidua(Eastern region), Cape Coast(Central region) and Sunyani(Brong Ahafo region) all seem to tie on cost of living although all these regions play different roles in the country. The cheapest places to live are in the north of Ghana: Wa(Upper West region), Bolgatanga(Upper East region) and Tamale(Northern region) although the latter is more economically vibrant compared to the aforementioned two.
Thanks alot bro.

HealthRe: The Oldest Person With Sickle - Asiata Onikoyi-laguda by Roccoandrocco(m): 1:09pm On Apr 22, 2016
ayopo10:
At 90, Asiata Onikoyi-Laguda is believed to be the oldest person with sickle cell disease in the world. She was born in November 1925, the same year as Margaret Thatcher, first female British prime minister and Malcolm X, the African American civil rights activist. At that time, the average life expectancy of children born with sickle cell disorder was just five years, but she has defied the odds to live up to 90. Due to the high level of illiteracy at the time of her birth, she was never diagnosed with sickle cell. She endured years of pain, which kept her away from school till she was 12 years old. Her pain was so severe and frequent that she would beg God to let her die.

After primary school, she enrolled at Queens College Lagos, where she met her husband Bolaji Alakija, who later became a doctor. She did not know she had the sickle cell disease until after she had given birth to five of her six children. Her husband, Dr Alakija, gave her pills including folic acid to take every day, but kept the nature of her illness away from her for a long time. Dr Alakija had 10 wives and 27 children, when he died, she married Alhaji Laguda, but she never had a child with her second husband.

She is the second of four children born from AbdulYekeen Ishola Onikoyi, a prince of the Onikoyi ruling house, and Aishat Alake Onikoyi from Kudeti, Ibadan. In spite of her illness, she has outlived her parents, husbands and siblings except one. According to SCD Journal, in spite of the disease:
– She is under no dietary restrictions whatsoever: eats salt, eggs, meat, sugar, fried food, etc as she likes
– Her blood pressure hovering around 160/90
– She has performed the holy pilgrimage to Mecca 13 times and Umrah half a dozen times
– She observed the annual 30-day Ramadhan fast until she was over 88 and pressured to discontinue by her children
– She reads Bible, Quran everyday with glasses but moves around without glasses
– She takes public transport in super-chaotic Lagos
– She gave birth to six children, all by normal delivery. When only son passed away in August 2014 aged 59, she accepted the will of Allah but prayed, “Please let the rest of the children you gave me outlive me.”

RomanceRe: Stunts Ladies Who Are 25+ Shouldn't Be Pulling by Roccoandrocco(m): 1:09pm On Apr 22, 2016
emusmith:
Smithy: Stunts ladies who are 25+ shouldn't be pulling

Hmm...as I look around, I see reasons to also note from a different perspective that everything is not BLACK and WHITE, there are also GREY areas.

The number of 25+ ladies are increasing by the day and funny, some of these women don't understand the significance of etching closer towards '30'.

Like it or hate it, all guys can't be wrong at same time. There are some stunts you shouldn't pulling if you are 25+ and if you persist, history will keep repeating it self:
- Late marriages
- Unhappiness in the home.
- Divorce etc

1. Being Over- Dramatic

Drama! Drama!! Drama!!! Yes, girls are dramatic by default but if you are heading towards 30, you should reset you default settings. All of a sudden, you quit talking to a guy you've known for years or even months and you expect him to...to what? To decipher and doggedly go after you. Later tomorrow, you'll say, "I'ld have left you but you forced me". That's what guys don't understand. Mind you: guys have admirers too but they chose you. Reduce the drama.

2. Changing guys like under wears

You'll see a girl who claims is getting ready for marriage test-running different guys like a guy testing which console will work on his PS2. Yes, you did it as a 'kid' but now? Haba! You wonder why no responsible guy is coming your way, it's simply because you've friendzoned all of 'em.

3. Still upholding the Principle of "oloshos"

Do I know the principles? At least I know that they date all kinds of men, Sugar daddies and Alhajis included. You can't be cross-dating and still expect a responsible young man: Mba! His mummy's prayer negates that!

4. Pursuing guys after "free" rides, meals, dates etc

There is nothing as naughty, demeaning and cheap-looking as a 25+ girl who claims to have no feeling for a guy BUT wants free meals, rides, from same. That's irresponsible. If na so 'love' dey catch you, get a guy that will love you for free. Don't get a guy's hope up, and later you start acting innocent and weird. That's witchcraft!

5. E-robbery

A robber takes from you and doesn't sit with you. "She" runs away. I have heard some guys who have been "robbed" by some of these chicks. To them it's a game but it's an indirect way of strengthening yourself as a "single and searching" for a long time.

PS: It hurts me to see a girl deceiving herself, all in the name of "I still have more time". The truth is: the shortest 5 years in a ladies life is the 25-30 range. A word is enough for the wise.
Is marriage now the greatest of heights for a woman?

Christianity EtcAmerican Idol Winner Says His Victory Was 'god's Will' by Roccoandrocco(op): 1:04pm On Apr 22, 2016
Harmon, who worked on his family’s farm and in his family’s restaurant in Mississippi, wowed judges Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez, and Harry Connick, Jr. with his voice. He also stole the hearts of fans, ultimately going on to win the show’s final season and take his place among previous American Idol winners such as Carrie Underwood and Jordin Sparks.

Christian Today reports that when Harmon was announced as the winner, he collapsed on stage.

“I haven’t been able to breathe in almost a year. I feel like in that moment, I got to decompress for the first time in almost a year,” he said.

After regaining his composure and standing back up, Harmon hugged his competitor, La’Porsha Renae and told her, “It’s God’s will.”

“Trent just whispered in my ear, ‘You know, this is what God wants. God has something really special for you. You won with me, too, baby,'” Renae told USA Today.

Both Harmon and Renae ended up being offered record deals from Scott Borchetta, the show’s mentor and record executive.

“I love them both. They’re both great,” said Borchetta.

Harmon identifies as a Christian and often references God and his faith in social media posts.
