The point is, finger print scanners aren't new. Motorola has had them for some time. Lots of laptops do too. I'm not an apple fanboy but why make all this noise now that Apple has it ![]() |
Mods, if una need help let us know ![]() |
honsule: @ALL. I have meticulously observed without ny iota of mendacity and duplicity that people are so lazy to read the forum before posting or creating a new thread.Hence,it behooves on each nairalanders to read the forum before posting/opening new thread.Any person that is lazy enough not to do that, and opens a new and similar thread will earned a BANThere's no need to turn it into a dictatorship or be totalitarian about it. I support moderating posts before they go live, HOWEVER, you add to your workload exponentially!!! Instead of a ban, give a first time warning then a ban for a repeat offence. Have a note of repeat offenders that will be banned first time or permanently. Also, I fully support putting this on front page, in big, bold, red capital letters so none will say they didn't see it. Tho pro bono, keep up the good work. ![]() |
honsule: @poster.we should be online 24/7 right? what is do u mean by this statement? "without any prompt swift action taken by any of the moderators to curtail such gross misconduct! "I'm sorry but I don't agree with you. There are SOOO many duplicate posts here it's becoming embarrassing. The same discussion about Airtel bis, the same about bbm on android and so many others. Everyone wants to be seen as having started a topic and before you know what's going on it has degenerated to something useless. Try to point things out and the next thing you get is insults. Nairaland is international now, we really need to clean up. Let's trim down the fat so the site itself loads quicker. When you accepted the role of moderator you agreed to take the long hours that go with it. As a regional sales manager, it is your duty to make sure nothing goes wrong with your product in your region and to ensure quality in everything that has to do with it. |
Where was this "expert" when Motorola featured a finger print scanner on their phone? |
rainmaker12: u kiding meKidding about what? |
BE VERY CAREFUL ABOUT CODES YOU ENTER INTO YOUR ANDROID DEVICE. |
t33why: Good idea and a better idea is to be wary of where u buy the 'brand new one' from. I wont mention names but am sure someone on this thread can testify that not all brand new is in fact brand new. just sayingSo damn right... |

calabaman: Hello all,Do be informed that the S3 also is prone to sds |
BADNEAT: did u read wat febbymi said about her friend's fone? It showed sane chip buh still bricked...note2 is simply an issue carrying fone...sane or insane. ..it all depends on ur luck and how u use ur fone. ....@febbymi any idea what jellybean d fone was running on?? 4.04..4.11 or 4.1.2Did YOU?! Where in that post was it said that the phone bricked as a result of sds? |
BADNEAT: Not all insane chips will eventually brick. ..its a 50 50 thing ...ur luck if urs bricks. ... on the other hand not all sane chips will not brick...still a 50 50 thing ...there's nothing u can do about it...keep a minimum of 2gb free on ur sd .....be on 4.1.2 ...stop flashing roms here n there. ..dont overuse ur fone. ..and u might just be luckyShort of flashing the wrong ROM or the wrong kernel, there is no way you can brick a phone. Phones with a bad chip in them will die the same way a PC is affected by bad chips. PC's differ in that mostly you can change memory and processor yourself. Much harder with a phone without SPECIALIST tools. |
opisco01: Pls hw cn I upgrade to android 4.3 on my note 2For now, only by installing a ROM. 4.3 is not yet officially available on the Note 2 |
Debolous: thx. It was a gift...i think it was that mtn offer since i saw their seal and sim pack in it. is there going to be a warranty on it? been using it since aprilDid you register it with Samsung after you got it? If you didn't you won't be able to make a claim febbymi: U needn't get worried over the eMMC check thing though that doesnt mean nt paying attention sha. If ur phone is nt from the uk, chances are u'll survive. My friends note2 died 2day despite having the oxf7 firmware and a sane chip. Shes going 4 a claim 2mao so will updateI'm eagerly waiting for your update. A lot of factors could lead to a phone dying. But an "insane" chip is a clear indication of a defective device. Let's not give each other false hope. |
Debolous: pls how do i update my fone to the latest hardware? i just so happen to have the insane chipWow, I'm so sorry to hear this. According to all the research I've done, there really isn't much you can do. Take it to a Samsung service centre and have them look at it. It'll cost you no doubt but not as much as having to buy a new one. |
Sudden death syndrome on Samsung galaxy note 2 and S3 IS REAL. Check your phone and stop kidding about... |
new or used? phone only or with ORIGINAL accessories? |
psalmdave: samsung galaxy s4...dats d worse fone u cud eva use....make i run comot frm dis thread b4 dem cum shew menotin do u bros... |
ammyluv2002: I tire o! Maybe is among the first set or something. Pls, what's d meaning of this MB, can it be replaced here in Nigeria? If yes, how muchI'm assuming you mean mother board? Yes it can be replaced here. According to yinkade, he paid N18k to have his replaced. This he did at the Samsung service centre tho it was "unofficial" ![]() |

You guys don't know anything!!! The very worst phone I've ever used is the Siemens C35i. You will charge that phone over night, unplug it and 5 minutes later it's beeping battery low and will switch off. I flung it against the wall!!! |
ammyluv2002: Tnx so much, is post is an eye opener. Shey, mine is ok ba?Yes, your phone is fine... But I'm wondering why your date says 03/1997 ![]() |
tunamania: i think they're having network issues,it keeps going and coming but its stable if u put it on edge only or 2g as the case may be on your phone but if put on H or 3g ,you would definitely have issues with it.Consistent 3g+ and H here... |
Well, I did some research of my own and found this http://www.roytanck.com/2013/06/04/note-2-update-sudden-death-syndrome/ If you click the link you'll find that if you have a bad chip, no matter how much you upgrade firmware or kernel it won't do much good. It's a hardware problem and can only be completely resolved by changing your board. So, like I said earlier, if you have a late model note 2 you should be fine. Run emmc checker to confirm your chip and give yourself rest of mind |
Stanley08: Actually, this is called Sudden Death Syndrome. Could you provide a link to back this up? |
freelancer1st: the upload(send) arrow has been fluctuating and the download(receive) arrow is even blurred.. could it be that Airtel has banned Bis on android?? P.S i'm using Tecno B3 on AIRTEL BBSocial....You should stop raising false alarms and ask questions if you need assistance. |
Yinkade: I bought the fone 2weeeks after it was released so there is no wat it cld have been usedI beg to differ! Lots of these oyinbo people buy phones and return them while under warranty. The phones are then refurbished and resold albeit at a lower price point. Some dealers then go out and buy these phones in bulk and ship them. Mind you, this is not peculiar to Nigeria only... |
