Had my HTC S-OFFed and rooted the very day I got it.

The loss of ANY life is a great tragedy and I commiserate with the families of the bereaved. HOWEVER, we must all stop the govt bashing. Why? Because we elected them and that makes us all indirectly part of the problem. Someone mentioned here something about speed. Please all, visit YouTube and search for crash test videos. These tests are carried out at about 40mph. Multiply this by 2 and that is the sort of speed we drive on our roads KNOWING they are bad. One traffic rule says you should drive like you're the only sane person on the road. Very instructive.

No matter how many times u reformat it, a bad chip will remain so. It has to do with the electronics on the card. Chips that are poorly made will always have errors that cannot be repaired. The best way to get good chips is to test before u pay. Insert it into ur phone and copy some files to it, pictures or music. Remove the card and wait a few seconds. Re-insert the card into ur phone or whatever. If the files are still there, then u have a good card. Also try and buy name brand cards like Kingston, Crucial or Sandisk. These are quality cards with a much reduced rate of failure.

princeibe, if u are unfortunate to buy a bad mmc, no matter the amount of antivirus you put on it will make it work. It's an electrical thing. Once a circuit is bad, the chip will not work. Chikena!
