emeka27: Please which school did you apply for an MBA? Did they request for GMAT/GRE scores?? I am seeking an affordable school for an MBA programme that doesn't require GMAT/GRE. Most Universities that don't require the GMAT/GRE are quite expensive. University of New Brunswick, Saint John. One Year. You can get GMAT waiver. Email the school admission office. |

jnyuwa02: Thanks for this. God bless you.
Please is there a way of changing this moniker jnyuwa02 to something else? It seems a lot of people botch that name. You can address study gaps by showing what way you have remained academically active since leaving school, compelling the conclusion that you still have what it takes to succeed and really want to attend school if that privilege is extended to you. You can dwell on your upbringing with a love for learning and to cherish the values of learning and how that has not left you till today. You can present evidence of how you excelled in the past. You can show how your current job is related to what you want to study and the passion you have for your chosen field. |

Many thanks for this @ jnyuwa. I plan paying all the fees at once in my next application. Just wanted to be sure am not making a mistake by doing that. With respect to study gap, how can one respond to that. I obtained Bsc in 2006 (same flagged in my GCMS Note) but I have been working since then. My intended course is MBA. How do I go about responding on this? |

Hello Linzo,
I understand payment of school fees raises suspicion. However, for people who had paid the entire tuition or part and refused, what should be the way out for them? Should they request for refund so that they can show in their next application that tuition was not paid and only the requested fees by the school was paid?
quote author=Linzo post=70726705] ]My advice is 1. Let her not pay school fee if the school didn't request for initial deposit (mostly the colleges in Canada will ask for small deposit) before getting his/her offer letter, reason is this. In my opinion, paying school fee before applying for visa triggers the VO suspicion instinct that you're not genuine student who will leave Canada and hence you need to prove beyond reasonable doubt to VO that you're a genuine student. About 90% of the Visa refusals on this forum paid part of their fees in advance but of all those who applied without initial fee payment up to 95% got visa approved. Note: in either way you must prove to VO that you're a genuine student.
Secondly, paying fee before Visa application does not add single benefit to your application but rather makes it more prone to complex scrutiny. Apart from that, in the event of been refuse Visa you may also lose huge part of your fee if requested for refund. Some schools refund 70% , 50% and others you may lose the whole money after one deferment
2.. Yes, but the Canada PR holder will emphasize that he or her is doing so in order to help the student achieved his/her dreams back home after studying in Canada.
3. Both routes have equal chances, however in recent time, the precisely last 3 months has shown more favour to paper route in terms of processing pace
I know some people will argue No1 but fact speaks for itself[/b][/quote] |

Frankrobbn1: Attorney I dig your point without stress. I also know of an applicant who went through online route, the applicant paid full tuition and transferred funds into dorm account and the sponsor was excessively and financially buoyant to cater for the applicant expenses throughout the stay in Canada and what happens at then end after waiting for 13 solid weeks?, the applicant was slapped with:
1-) Insufficient Funds 2-) Purpose of Visit 3-) Home ties IN country of residence 4-) Personal Assets and financial status.
This is the same online route you praised! You have said it all different strokes for different folks. I think this is more of Grace!. As for me, Kenya visa officers are very fast and dedicated to their work and I must commend them for the job well done
Shalom! For me they do shabby job. They are lazy set of people. That is all I can say for now. Like you pointed, it is more of grace. How can a Visa officer be stating in your GCMS notes some information that does not reflect the application you submitted? Its sad. There is a preconceived notion about Nigerians. |

My question is this : can I apply for the permit from within Canada? I already have a scheduled trip to Canada in July/ August because I have visitor visa valid till 2020.
Elders in the house please advise me.
Thank you in advance. We need the Guru in the house to advise us. Is this actually possible? I still have a valid visiting visa. Can application be made within Canada? Am searching CIC site, can't seem to find a clue. |

alftdbts: Bro... someone gave you an advise but you seem not to have taken it atall and I noticed. We all learning here though and we understand how ambiguous this whole process is. From my point of view what you have together isn't feasible to scale through so you don't waste your money. Firstly You in a common law relationship with 2kids and you want to take everyone to Canada at once. It's marriage that can only work for that. They should be your home ties. You are simply relocating as they put it. And your wife doesn't have the financial strength then how would it work except you earn like 1million per month minimum. You ddnt mention if it's masters or pgd sef, ohhh I remb it's college which doesn't carry enough weight as Univ
The advise someone gave you is the most logical one. Get to Canada first befr dreaming of relocating your family and if not probably for one of the kids you could get lucky.
Relocating family works for company owners based on those that I have seen not students who are likely to still seek funding one way or the other.... I'm only opinionated, I might be wrong though. Almost everyone has someone who is family and good to take along when it pans out well, but it's called extra or excess baggage. @olugere, this was previously addressed. It will be wrong to complete Common Law declaration form except you do not have proof that you are married. What is your status? Married or in Common Law relationship? |

Ratawu: Yes, they are trained but many of them in Nairobi treat applications with prejudice. There was a court judgement against one of them at the Judicial review where the court lambasted the VO for poor job done. Somebody who have travelled to the UK, US twice and Canada twice on visit was given limited travel history. The court ordered that another VO should treat the application and the person was gladly approved at the UK office. Same here. I have travel history to Canada, Dubai, SA, Gambia. Guess what, I was refused on travel history. weird.... |

Thebushboy: You already have a brother in Canada and you did not apply alone....seems to me like you applied for every member of your family. Thats the red flag.
VO also me tioned that your brother has a family. I can see that the VO has doubts how he intends to sponsor considering those who currently depend on him. VO also has concerns about your return to Nigeria. I would say you tackle purpose of visit, finance and ties.
Warm wishes Really? Did you see the part where the VO said has savings? Funny enough, I applied alone. He mentioned that I applied for TRV with family. That was in 2016. I have been to Canada before with my family. Besides, the brother referenced in his concerns was very wrong as my co-sponsor is my sister and I presented my birth certificate and hers to proof that we share the same parents. I feel the VO did not review the file thoroughly as what he mentioned as his concern is not a reflection of my application. The person was quick to conclude and with even wrong information which is not reflective of my profile. |

Beside, my sponsor is my Sister and not brother as referenced on the summary sheet and same was stated on my SOP. All, help me analysis, dissect as I plan to resubmit my application next week.

Hrhchris: My advise would be firstly write a very sound sop. Take time to mk it quality. Also, show strong ties n n explain explain well how t would bring you back home. In your sop ensure key items that you want the vo to notice that you Bolden them. Also if you have hv awards add it cs it speaks good of you in the eyes of the vo. So basically in my second attempt I added my landed property, awards from community to development I hv done etc. Then PRAY Thanks for your response. Please did you order for your GCSM notes before you re-apply or basically worked on your SOP? Next week will mark a one since I ordered my case note and same is yet to be provided. I have really don't have time on my side as school resumes in September. |

Lemia: I'll advise you to reprint the whole SOA.
Even though it seems like practically the same thing to just add an extra one month which makes it appear like you just continued form where it stopped before, there will be a lot of discrepancies which the VO can detect and assume that you forged your SOA. This will count as misrepresentation and you may be subject to a ban.
An example of such discrepancy will be the value of opening balance, closing balance, total inflow and total outflow.
The transactions during the extra month you print separately will not be added to the total Inflow and out flow.
similarly, the closing balance at the last page of the SOA would now be different from the one on the first page.
Please save yourself all the headaches and reprint your full SOA. Humm. The truth is we have no idea of what the VOs are constantly looking forward to except we have people who can share their experience. In my own case, I initially printed Oct - Feb bank statements. The idea was to provide 6 months bank statements but I erroneously excluded Sept when I informed my bank to print the statements. So, I printed just September and October in addition to the five months statements (oct - feb) in case they wanted to tie my balance to October Statements. The printings were done from two different branches. (Ibadan and Lagos) to be precise. Also, my sponsor account was printed to the months of Jan - Feb as the hard copy provided to me dated 31 December. (Canada Bank Statements though) and I didn't have any issue with my POF. |
