Hey guys,

There's an Umi Z with problems with its proximity sensor.

It's on all the time and can't make calls because immediately a call is made the phone screen goes off.

Did a hardware test and couldn't calibrate the sensor.

I think something is blocking it...

Can it be fixed by soldering?
Can any of you fix it?

Or do I send it to China for a refund (long process)

FCMB works but with black market rate.

You're advised to wait 24 hours after successful appeal before you use your card.

They probably won't call you.

At most they'll bring a collection slip to your address.


PS when going to the post office, take a valid ID card and ₦500 for "handling fee" if your item is above 500grams.

Umi phones usually have factory hardware problems.
Your mileage may vary.

It's not advisable to buy a branded item from AliExpress, except it's a Chinese brand.

Check out the Xiaomi Mi5.

It has a the specs you require and more.

The battery is 3,000 mAh but it uses a flasghip processor with big.LITTLE Technology so the battery life is great.

You'll have to import it from China though....
