There are the Pakistanis and West Indies, They can't b underated, Even the Underdogs Kenyans, they can cause an upset during their friendly match. They hit Bangladesh by six wikets on Saturday. I came to love cricket when some of the 2003 world cup matches was played in Kenya. Eventually, Kenya reached semi-final. For me, i bet for the West Indians and Pakistanis, though as an African i will love to see the excel of SA, Zimbabwe and Kenya |

A startling new survey has for the first time revealed the kind of woman the Kenyan man desires – she has a chocolate brown complexion, is of medium build, works part-time and has no children. That is the dream woman for majority of Kenyan men, according to findings in a research commissioned by the Saturday Nation. Most Kenyan men also want their ideal woman younger than them, shorter than them and earning less money than what they make. Even then, they are willing to let her share in making financial decisions but few would brook her family’s deep involvement in their relationship. Kenyan men also prefer a woman who has the same level of education as they do, and expect to share domestic chores equally with them. The survey, conducted by Infotrak Research & Consulting and Harris Interactive Global across the country’s eight provinces in the last week of July, sampled 1,200 single, married, separated and divorced men as well as those living with a partner. The sample is part of a 2,800 population for a larger survey. Across all the clusters, majority believed that the best time to marry was between the ages of 26 and 35, indicating a shift of accent to completing education and settling into a career first before marriage. Overall, those polled (54 per cent) wanted to be in a monogamous relationship while 30 per cent preferred an open relationship. Only 10 per cent of the population sample felt they should have the freedom to roam, while six per cent believed the woman could roam as long as they did not know. Relationship attributes Agreement was highest that current relationships are based on financial status (85 per cent), followed by love (76 per cent), character (72 per cent), physical appearance (70 per cent) and level of education (60 per cent), health (55 per cent), age (51 per cent) and cultural background (48 per cent). Ideally, though, men would like to choose their dream woman on the basis of love and affection (78 per cent), followed by character (70 per cent), physical appearance (68 per cent), level of education (62 per cent), health (60 per cent), age (46 per cent), cultural background (44 per cent) and religious affiliation (38 per cent). A significant proportion of men prefer a woman to have the same level of education as they do (45 per cent), but 20 per cent would like partners that have less education than they do. Only nine per cent are looking for women who have more education than they do. Twenty six per cent said it did not matter. Just under half of the men polled would want the woman’s family to be very involved in their relationship against 34 per cent who would want it to be somewhat involved. Another 11 per cent would like her family to be very involved and 10 per cent said it did not matter. On complexion, Kenyan men who like chocolate brown women was 47 per cent, medium brown 36 per cent while those who prefer the dark are 11 per cent. Yellow-brown complexioned women fit the fancy of only 4 per cent of those polled while one per cent desire bi-racial and another one per cent white women. Pencil-thin women are the least popular with Kenyan men, with only two per cent of those polled saying they prefer them, and big, well-rounded ones winning the hearts of 22 per cent. The clear winners are the medium-shaped women, who were cited as the preferred choice for 76 per cent of sample population. Majority of those polled prefer women who are up to five years younger than them (41 per cent) or same in age (28 per cent). Only a tiny minority (15 per cent) prefer women who are five years younger than them. Five per cent said age did not matter while another five per cent preferred someone who was up to five years their senior, and another two per cent women who were more than five years older than them. Only five per cent of the men polled would choose a woman who is taller than them. The majority prefer a woman shorter than them (45 per cent) or the same height (26 per cent). Of those polled, 24 per cent thought height was a moot point. An overwhelming majority (70 per cent) of men polled thought the ideal woman should not have any children with only 15 per cent saying it did not matter and 10 per cent ready to tolerate one child. Few men prefer a woman with two children (three per cent) and even fewer (two per cent) would like her if she had three or more. Only nine per cent of the men in the survey prefer a woman with more education than them, but the highest number (45 per cent) would like someone with whom they are at par. Just 20 per cent want someone with less education and another 26 per cent thought it did not matter either way. Half of those polled prefer a woman who earns less money than they do, 35 per cent wanting those that earned the same and 15 per cent keen on those who get less than them. Again, 50 per cent of the men polled preferred a woman who works part-time while 39 per cent were fine with women who worked full time. Just 11 per cent wanted women who did not work at all. Financial decisions The power struggle in relationships does not, however, spill over into money as 70 per cent of the men polled would prefer a woman who makes financial decisions jointly with them. Only 17 per cent are comfortable making all the financial decisions on their own, against four per cent who would leave financial decision-making to the woman. A sizeable nine per cent said it did not matter. Although women like to think that men are all the same, age seems to make them as different as day and night. Kenyan men seem better and more open-minded in the lower age brackets. Younger men, for instance, are markedly different from their middle-aged and older counterparts in their preferences. Those between 18 and 25 find strong independent Kenyan women very attractive and a good match for them while those who are over 35 see the same women as too intimidating and too much trouble. More men aged between 26 and 35 would like to have sex with their future wife on the first date than any other age group polled, with a significant number across the board keen on action after five dates. Those between 18 and 25 would like to wait until they are married or at least after they are engaged. The same group had the highest number of people who did not think it did not matter. For men who are 35 years or older, cultural background is the most important determiner of their current relationship, followed by character and health, then trailed by level of education, love and affection, financial status and age, with physical appearance as the least consideration. Men between 26 and 35 years old place emphasis on a woman’s level of education, followed by love and affection, financial status, character, health and physical appearance, with age and then cultural background. Men between 18 and 25 are smitten by good looks, conscious of age, interested in financial status before they figure out how much love and affection exists in their current relationships. Health, character and cultural background then follow, with the woman’s level of education being the least important factor. @christino: @least Nairobi currently is warm, but the mornings are cold. If wanna see an elephant there is Masai Mara National park (recently given the status of one of the seven world wonders) and Tsavo East and West National park. Do u know Shambole Lodge near L. Magadi in Kenya is the favorite place for the Microsoft chief, Bill Gates? He spend most of his holidays there. I forgot another major Kenyan City, thats is Naivasha which is located in the Rift Valley, along Nairobi-Nakuru Highway, 1 hr drive from Nairobi. It is also a tourist hub. Africa's largest geothermal power plant is located here. Kenya is the largest producer of geothermal power. This is town of abt 300,000 pple is world's largest producer of cut-flowers, one of Kenya's foreign income earner. There is also fresh water lake, L. Naivasha and Hell's Gate National Park. There are luxurious hotels here. In this town peaceful tranquility and serenity was Southern Sudan peace conceived. |
Other Kenya major cities: 1. Nakuru - Rift Valley hqs., industrial and tourist city with its famous flamingo home L. Nakuru and Nakuru national park. It was once East Africa's cleanest city b4 being toppled by Nairobi. One of Africa's largest supermarket chain Nakumatt originated from this city. Nakumatt is the short form of Nakuru Mattresses. 2. Eldoret - This is the world athletic capital. Its an industrial city and major high altitude training centre for athletes. This is the home of Kenya's famous athletes. This city credits its development to the millionaire athletes. Linked to the world by an international airport and its a major transit city btw. Kenya and her neighbors. Kisumu City- It is a lakeside city on the shores of L. Victoria. Its Kenya's third largest city with good infrastructure. Its under renovation to make it East African Community hqs. to 5 east african countries. Malindi - This is the coastal city resort. Its a tourist centre fancied by the Italians. The property cost here is higher than in Nairobi. If you ready to part with more than 1000 dollars a night in accommodation go to this coastal city. It is famous with world celebrities. Naomi Campell is a frequent visitor to this city. Also situated here is a space centre. Other major cities are: Kericho - World famous for its black tea, Nyeri on the foot of Mt. Kenya, Thika - an industrial town on the outskirt of Nairobi and many others. |
There is government arm which is responsible, that is Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS). So, these women should sue KWS. |
Talking of ICT development, plans are in advanced stage to make Athi River Town, an industrial town on the outskirts of Nairobi city, to an ICT Hub City. The government will fund the project at a cost of over 1 billion dollars. This will make Kenya the Africa's ICT hub. Already Kenya is one of the top ten Worlds ICT hubs. The industrial town will have 24hr internet connectivity thro' fibre optic network. Large godowns will be set up and equiped with telecommunication and ICT facilities to be rented out to out-sourcing companies. In this, Kenya will topple India as the world leading out-sourcing centre. Out-sourcing business currently rakes in over 1 billion dollars to Kenya's economy annually and this will increase to 20 billion dollars after completion of this project. By next year, everybody in Kenya from city to rural folks will have internet access after completion of laying fibre optic cable which is currently in progress under the government funded Digital Village project. Also to boost and reduce internet charges is the completion of Mombasa-Fujaira in UAE fibre optic cable. Kenya and South Africa are the only countries in Africa to have two sets of Root Servers i.e J and F root servers for redundancy, .COM, .NET and .KE locally resolving. This makes Kenya as the key strategic hub for internet content hosting and transit services in Africa. In the next three years ICT will be the major player in Kenya's economy. |
SinginChic:Nairobi city buildings are owned, were designed and constructed by Kenyans. Times Tower one of Africa's top ten tallest buildings was designed and constructed by Kenyan owned companies, from architects to civil engineers they are the local boyz and women. There is no Mcdonalds or Sheraton in Kenya. We have local restaurants like Kengeles, Kenchic-the popular chicken restaurant in Kenya on every street in Nairobi and Java House for the best hot cup of coffee. Politically, Kenyans enjoys the most freedom of expression in Africa. A cabinet minister can say anything against the president n nothing can b done to him/her neither can he/she b sacked. Furthermore, UN bodies prefer to employ Kenyans. Currently, there are 700,000 Kenyans working for the UN bodies only second to the US. These Kenyans contribute to over 350 million dollars to Kenya's economy annually. |
Official statistics from the South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA) shows that companies in that country have been investing an average of $1.4 billion a year in Africa since 1991 surpassing UK, US and France. However, compared good run in Africa, it is not so in Kenya. The reasons they have failed in Kenya is the fact that they take a domineering outlook in managing their outfits, which does not go well with Kenyans. The problem comes when South Africans corporate chiefs fails to appreciate that unlike the less sophisticated African markets, a "one-size-fits-all" approach cannot work in Kenya. Kenyan businesses are very developed in all systems, procedures and processes than those in markets South Africans have conquered. Stanbic Bank, the only South African corporate which managed to penetrate the Kenyan market. Its Kenya country manager said, "sounds a bit like the way one hears some people describe Kenyans in Tanzania or Americans in Europe. My take is there are different communication style- e.g South Africans or Kenyans or Americans can be regarded in some cycles as 'too direct' or 'aggressive' in their work ethic and style." The laying of the East Africa Sub-marine System (EASSY) which sould connect East Africa to Southern African countries to international fibre optic system stalled bcoz of the battle of the control btw. Kenya and South Africa. While the South Africans want to have full control, Kenya pushed for control be spread among 23 participating African countries along the Open Access model, where even non-investors in the system can access at reasonable rates. Kenya's lobby saw 17 nations decline to sign the agreement. With the dispute yet to be cleared, Kenya resort to lay its own cable, The East African Sub-marine Systems (TEAMS), linking Mombasa, Kenya to Fujaira in U.A.E which is underway. The major failure by South Africans to enter Kenya was when SABMiller set up their own brewery in Kenya with their brand Castle larger, only to close b4 the end of 1 year. It couldn't compete with Kenya's east and central Africa largest brewer, East African Breweries Ltd (EABL) which marketed Kenya's brand Tusker under 'my country my beer'. SABMiller later sold its plant to EABL. B4 they came to Kenya, EABL tried to enter South African market with the brand Tusker, but was blocked by South Africans. Today, Tusker beer is the largest selling beer brand in East and central Africa with Kenyan being the largest consumers. A month ago, South Africa's food chain, Nandos closed its outlets in Kenya due stiff competitions by the locals and furthermore, Kenyans are so patriotic that they buy Kenyan goods. South Africans see Kenya will their competitor very soon in the African continent as many Kenyan companies have started investing in other African countries. From the banking to retail shops. In your opinion, is South Africa Africa's major player? Should we allow South African companies have full control of their other African branches (100% ownership)? |
@ashkar: Kenya is the most peaceful country in Africa, Nairobi is very safe esp. CBD where there is 24hr police patrol. No crime targeted @ Indians, there is no racial discrimination as u claimed in Kenya. All pple are equal. There are hundreds of Nigerians living in Nairobi. OK guys! We are in Africa and our leadership is in a mess, in this part of Africa, East, we are the largest economy and we don have oil, our infrastructure is much better than most African countries so to other sectors of economy like telecommunication which is the fastest developing sector. Our economy bounce back after some years of mismanagement. Kenya was in same league with Asian Tigers like Thailand and Singapore. If the few resources we have e.g Tourism, manufacturing and agriculture based sectors like tea, flowers, horticulture and dairy and beef products which rakes in billions of dollars per year, we would be a developed country in the next few years. Talking of living on less than a dollar a day, not anywhere in Kenya would you live on less than a dollar a day. $1 = Kshs. 65, of which it cant even put a plate of food in the table. The government recommendations are each and every employee must be paid more 3 dollars a day. A house rent in a slum in Nairobi goes for abt $15. Tell me, if someone can say people living in slums are poor, where will they get the money to pay rent if they live on less than a dollar per day? Most of oil revenues in Oil Producing countries in Africa are mis-managed, thats why u find no or less peace. Why? because the beneficiaries are foreigners and u find most of the locals are poor. The same money are being used to fund the guerrillas or rebels to fight against the government. Now Ghana have found oil, who are the explorers? Will it benefit the common man? How will the government be so transparent to the money got from this black gold? We read daily in the papers how the locals kidnap the foreigners in the oil producing region of Niger Delta in Nigeria. What does the Nigerian Gava does to curb the mess and bring the wealth to the locals? Lets not argue about Ghana discovering oil and its young economy and population, all we should be doin is asking ourselves, "is the Ghanaian gava inheriting the curse of black gold in Africa?" Lets all save Africa from foreigners. The problem to solve in Africa is to export manufactured goods not raw materials! |
Rethink abt ur r'ship coz if he can still feels for his ex, u don know, mayb they still date. |
Furthermore, most of the slum dwellers are refugees, who come an put up shant structures. Very soon slums will b a thing of the past as we are arguing residential six storey flats are being build by the government to accommodate slum dwellers, in fact some houses which accommodate more than 500 families has bn completed in Kibera slum. To adds Nairobi its beauty, plans are at an advanced stage to make it 24 hr city joining the leagues of New York and Hong Kong cities. Already some shopping malls and supermarkets are open 24 hrs and one Koinange str. Nairobi's red light district will b the first to become 24 hr street. |
igbonla:Book an hotel of which there are so many choices from 2 stars to luxurious five stars, depends on ur financial status, book a Kenya Airways flight in Lagos, n of course look for a person to show u arnd or book a tours n travel agent.
