Hello All, I just stumbled on this wonderful page. Pls I need all the advice I can get, I’m trying to seek admission for my son to study in Canada, he is 17. Kindly advice on affordable schools that aren’t so competitive like Uni of Alberta and the likes. He wants to study computer science or computer engineering. Thanks

Onye oma: You narrowed down ur chances by applying to only 1 school (and a very competitive one @ that).
I can see your choice lies only in Alberta and Saskatchewan...
Applying to the 3 schools this time around will hopefully boost ur chances of getting an admission with ur hot CGPA. Just try ur best to draft a very captivating SOP (and include all the relevant awards you have received).
Also,confirm very well if a supervisor is needed before securing an admission.
If it is needed, try ur best possible to get one to increase ur chances of getting a positive reply.

You an also give University of Lethbridge,Calgary a try...who knows...

people it isnt about which is beta, because left to me i would say dey r both good, am a 300level student of babcock university and am proud to be there, convernant university may have good infrastructures but i would say there is no freedom of expression in the skul, the students are more or less zombies

you have curfew at different times!!!
then they are expelled unnessarily!!
the thing with youths is that they break rules easily, the harder the rules the more they find ways to break them, so whats the point?
babcock university has got rules but then they are rules that a youth or even a teenager can live with, !!! plus i am currently doin my I.T in a consulting firm, and this convernant graduate came for an interview, the girl could barely answer the questions given to her, a babcock university graduate can never 'fall our hand like that' so whats in d academics that makes a graduate speechless when given questions? babcock university ensures that its students get proper counselling and it also makes sure that each year the students do a course relating to public relations n public speaking, so tell me how a babcock student would stutter when asked a question in an interview for CHRIST SAKE!!!
i can go on and on, but i dnt wnt to start a figth here,  
so i would say babcock is waaaaayyyyy better than convernant university!
