On May 14, 1948, the day the British Mandate expired, the new Jewish state, known as the State of Israel, was formally established in parts of what was known as the British Mandate for Palestine.

With the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, Jewish independence was restored after 2,000 years.

This was a fulfillment of biblical prophecy. After they suffered 2000 years of hardship and turmoil, God honored His word to the sons of David, gathered them together, gave them back the land of their forefathers and restored them again.

I congratulate the Jewish people on the 73rd anniversary of the establishment of the Jewish State.

Permit me to touch on the events that are unfolding in Gaza today.

I deplore the killing of civilians, particularly children, but the State of Isreal reserves the inalienable right to defend itself.

The Hamas-controlled Gaza strip provoked the situation it has found itself in and deserves the robust and aggressive response that it is getting.

On its own part the Fatah-controlled West Bank will get worse if it does not stop attacking the Jewish state. Southern Lebanon will also be hammered if Hezbollah does not stop shooting rockets into Israel.

The bitter truth is that Hamas started all this and the State of Israel will finish it. I trust Benjamin Netanyahu for that.

The Jewish State has never been defeated in any war since it was established in 1948 and she NEVER will be. This is a fact that the Arabs and their allies fail to appreciate. It is not the Iron Dome that protects Israel, it is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Both Southern Lebanon and Gaza were taken by military might and fully occupied by Israel during a series of wars with the Arabs.

Southern Lebanon was returned to the Lebanese in 2000 and the Gaza strip was returned to the Palestinians in 2005 both as part of a wider peace deal.

Ever since then both territories have been under the control of Iranian-backed terrorist organisations, namely Hamas and Hezbollah respectively, and they have been constantly used as a launching pad for rocket attacks on the Jewish state. They have also both refused to acknowledge the right of Israel to exist or to defend herself.

They have said it over and over again that it is their intention to wipe the Jewish state off the face of the earth. Iran has echoed the same sentiment.

Worse still the rabid and inexplicable hatred that both Hezbollah and Hamas have for Jews and Christians is deplorable.

This is unacceptable and in my view it is time for the Israelis to consider taking both territories back by force, occupying them once again and annexing them permanently.

No nation deserves to have a terrorist group whose intention is to commit acts of genocide against its citizens living on its borders and as its neighbour.

A final word for those that hate the Jews: Israel shall never fall and she shall be blessed until the end of time.

You're thinking big and I commend you sir. I often shake my head when a Nigerian is focusing on the negatives doing tolontolo dance on the front page of the newspapers and Nairaland.

Right now, I think we should start looking at the industries and sectors these guys are pushing their money. There may be numbers and pattern worth crunching there. Imagine what Okomu oil did in the Palm oil industry quietly over the years and before you say Jack, they are tremendously successful. Okomu is actually a Belgian company with 62.69% controlling stake in the company's 953.9 million ordinary shares. 
Promasidor has started with cow and milk again now o . Watch them in 5 to 10 years, they will repeat what they did with their cowbell satchet in the 90s

Nigerians who are patriotic and see the picture will be blessed by the land.

It's actually the same countries who will shore up their edge in Nigeria. It's unfortunate to the British that UK is in this position in the Nigerian economy. I still recall the last visit by former PM Theresa May, it was not even as strong in the media as that of Emmanuel Macron who spent days in Lagos and consolidated French interest in Nigeria. That visit by Macron even delivered a multibillion naira project in the heart of Ikoyi, Lagos for free to the French interest in Nigeria donated by Dr. Mike Adenuga.

As we type here, most of the strategic companies are moving gradually out of the UK to EU and it just slowed down due to covid-19. UK apparently abandoned the Nigerian market and today we built our economy literally without them so they will struggle but I think Nigerians are likely to embrace them again if they spend big in Nigeria.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel came here and got the big Siemens deal. I doubt if May got anything so the British have so much work to do sir.

If they don't spend very huge, they're gone be dat! Nigeria is now way too big than where they 'left ' it.

The UK, as things stand, needs this trade deal more than Nigeria.

They are not in the best of times and I have particularly followed most companies on the Nigerian Stock Exchange that are originally British. There's a pattern; they are losing against competitors in the Nigerian market and it is not good for them.
From Cadbury to Unilever to Pz to UAC to Union Bank , they are in serious market share loss positions whereas companies that originated from other European countries are even buying up more shares and consolidating their position despite great market expansion. From Nestle(Swiss) to Heineken's NB(Dutch) plc to International Breweries to LaFarge( French) Julius Berger(German), these companies even increased their market share during covid-19.

If companies originally British are losing in Nigeria, where else can they now get the huge ROI again in Africa? It is possible this is the lot of most British companies even before Brexit and they need a strategy to get into Nigerian market and get back a significant portion of the market share.
