Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Zenith Bank Interview Pls Help by rotciv2011(m): 12:39pm On Nov 19, 2013
Xtaceeey: Followin ds thread, dat was 2011. Ds format of CV dropping @head office or website uploading, dos it stil work? Cuz I av done dem Or how do one get into zenith nw as an entry level staff? Any help?
Current jobseekers should have a better idea of this. But I strongly THINK it still works. In the end, getting called by ZB seems like a huge gamble. I know people that uploaded CVs with me but never got the interview. Some others did all interviews and medical tests but still haven't been called up for the job after more than two years. Some others resumed after several months of silence. i don't know what obtains now. Just do the much you can with them and hope for the best.

Politics / Re: Nigerian Man Publicly Beaten In India - Video by rotciv2011(m): 8:45pm On Nov 07, 2013
I have seen a number of reports and video clips on this issue before this one and the whole story is really pathetic. If you folks had seen what led to this (and objectively wear their shoes for a minute), your opinions might have been slightly different.
That's by the way though. I just wish this type of reports will open a lot of eyes back home in Nigeria. Our reputation before the world is terrible, yet we cannot even unite for once to tackle a general problem. We only got incensed because some random person bothered to post the video online. How about the many atrocities we never get to see being meted to our fellows? Truth be told guys, brace yourselves for more of this. Until we put our house in order, there's no telling what the next video will contain and God forbid that the victim should be someone dear to you!
Travel / Re: Why Are So Many Nigerians Abroad So Arrogrant? by rotciv2011(m): 8:45am On Sep 05, 2013
Okay, I must confess this is true of Naijans in diaspora. It's not enough that they are snobs back in Nigeria, they also act up with their fellow countrymen over here. It was so funny seeing how one of them completely acted like I was trash for many days until he knew the kinda job I did (I think he works as a life-guard at a swimming pool or something). You needed to see how instantly he changed.
Politics / African Dreams And Aspirations by rotciv2011(m): 8:31am On Sep 05, 2013
Hello People,

I recently had the chance of visiting a few places around Africa and Asia. Anytime I travel to an African country, I seem to find that the people are almost the same in terms of the way they think. From my observations, I would assume that the average African today mostly looks forward to having more (or a personally controlled source of) income, building a house, raising a family and if possible, relocating abroad.
I may be wrong, but I think this pervades Sub-Sahara the most. If there are other aspirations you think are more important than the above or any more that can be added, please share.

Religion / Re: Preachers And Pastors Receiving Monthly Salary For Preaching The Gospel. by rotciv2011(m): 3:11pm On Feb 28, 2012
larimo:

There is one principle I urge all Christians to abide by and that is: Pray SINCERELY to God to enlighten you about his own word and His work before making needless judgments or statements.

A lot of people are using the seemingly unpopular trend of 'having rich ministers' for their arguments.  Granted, in many corners, not all, there seem to be a lot of manipulation of naive individuals when it comes to tithes and offerings, however, we need to uncover the Bible for ourselves. Only lazy and stubborn Christians will choose not to read and study the Bible. No good preacher will tell you not to read the Bible. Only the Holy Spirit can give you the right interpretation of God's word. No one gets it right all the time, some of us held some doctrines in the past, but have today denounced them!

The Bible clearly says that there is nothing wrong to support ministers. Better still, we should support ministers. In today's church, this support has been structured into a salary scheme. Do they not need this support to continue in the ministry? They do. If the support from members fall, will their salaries or call it support not fall also? Surely it will. I agree that in some sectors, there have been abuses, but it doesnt change the truth that we should support God's servants.

The original poster said Jesus said 'freely you've received, freely give' but trhe same Lord Jesus in Luke 22 vs 35-36 said to them before he was arrested that: "Then Jesus asked them, “When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?” “Nothing,” they answered. He said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one". Let's understand the Bible in context.  Have a blessed week everyone.
Ppl, sorry I have to repeat the entire post above. The word of God is clear enough to those who bother to ask the Holy Spirit for guidance as they read.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: FBN Group Calling? by rotciv2011(m): 8:02pm On Jan 02, 2012
I know a lotta guys that got the msg, but I can't say for sure whether the text was sent to only 2:1 grads. As for the test, it's to be completed in 3 mins. For hints, find out the city where the bank was FIRST incorporated, who was the MD in 2007, what made April 2004 significant in the bank's history, the location of their head office and know their brand pillars. That's just it! Remember the deadline, so if you have to do your research, do it quick. Hope this helps.
Politics / Re: Boko Haram: Oritsejafor, Adeboye, Oyedepo Spits Fire! by rotciv2011(m): 1:05am On Dec 30, 2011
Stunna, I usually do not find myself in the habit of responding to comments that may lead to arguments, especially when they become deflections from the main thing. But I think there's a misunderstanding here. No one wishes you dead as you claim, neither is anyone trying to frighten you (although your last post reeks of so much fright already). As much as you struggle to sound like a liberal thinker, there are still tons of ideas that lie beyond the comprehension of your human brain my dear. You don't just spew anything out here because it's a virtual world. If I don't believe in religion, that does not give me the right to make a caricature of it in public. By insulting God and casting aspersions on pastors for the mere fact that they collect offerings in church, how do you intend to enhance a discussion on innocent lives being wasted by terrorists? If you have any tangible reason to diss these men (which I strongly doubt), then let's have it someplace else.

Politics / Re: Boko Haram: Oritsejafor, Adeboye, Oyedepo Spits Fire! by rotciv2011(m): 6:38pm On Dec 28, 2011
I had hoped to find some focused intellectual exchange on this thread, but as it almost always turns out, a lot of people seem to enjoy careless diversions. If owning a private jet is such an ish with you, why not hussle for your own? The topic does not warrant such insults as are being hurled around here.
And Stunna dear, the fact that you do not believe in God does not mean you should gain points by trying to ridicule Him. For your sake, my friend, never handle the supernatural the way you do science. You may never survive the consequences.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Free Cv Review For Students & Jobseekers by rotciv2011(m): 4:17pm On Dec 27, 2011
Now this is what I call COOL! I know my CV may not be the best there is, but it was good enough to get me a call from eight firms, four of which were multinational coys. I always wanted to talk to some peeps in school about 'home-based' CV writing tips that did not have all those janded tricks that never worked in Nigeria. I think this kinda nailed it. You try. Pls we look forward to the Pt 2 of this.
Culture / Re: Which Day Of The Week Did You Hate As A Kid by rotciv2011(m): 3:25pm On Dec 27, 2011
Mondays all the way o. It wasn't merely hate, my heart skipped several beats when I thought of Mondays. I never did homework & even when I did, my maths was always crap. So whichever way, I was sure to get hot strokes.
Politics / Re: Bomb Blast: A Burden We Must Live With – Jonathan by rotciv2011(m): 8:18am On Dec 26, 2011
NEMA has said the FG will foot the hospital bills of the blast victims. Someone should help us tell the guys in the N/Ass to factor that too in the amended 2012 budget o! because if we have to live with the burden of BH, then there will be lots of bills in 2012 to pay. They should also be kind enough to include burial expenses. Then help us tell the president that only living men have the backs to bear burdens!
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Need A Job In An Airline Industry , Can Anyone Help Out On This? by rotciv2011(m): 12:19pm On Dec 14, 2011
I got the same mail and sms from them. I really dunno how authentic they are but I wont totally discourage anyone who wants to give them a try. @smallworld, if you do eventually get back to them, pls let us knw how it all went. I would have given it a thought if not for distance and the 2700bucks that I cant seem to raise for any training. I'll greatly appreciate any news on further devpts.

Jaga Jaga:

@rotciv How can I submit my C.V. To zenith bank (was there a vacancy advertized when you apllied) and what position did you apply for.
Nahh, there was none. I just uploaded my cv on their website and kept updating it with any new certificates I got. Some other people submitted hard copies of their cv at the headquaters in VI. You can do both. But as far as I know, there was no ad for vacancy.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Oando Test 27th July-4th August by rotciv2011(m): 4:31pm On Dec 09, 2011
Guess what folks, maybe someone in that coy got to read these posts and this morning I got a reply in my email box from them (Oando Plc). They said I did not meet their requirements for recruitment, maybe that's their way of saying I didn't pass the test. Anyone else with a similar msg or a congratulatory msg? Please let us know. Thanks.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Oando Test 27th July-4th August by rotciv2011(m): 6:33pm On Dec 08, 2011

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Oando Test 27th July-4th August by rotciv2011(m): 1:08am On Dec 08, 2011
Dearies, was anyone called up after that Oando headbreaking test? I wrote the test then, but funny enough I neither got a congratulatory msg nor a regret mail. I wonder if anybody got any alert from them Anybody please let us know. . .
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Zenith Bank Interview Pls Help by rotciv2011(m): 12:51am On Dec 08, 2011
Finally completed the interview. All 3 of em in one day. Basic questions about yourself and your choice of a career in banking. It just requires you to be calm, collected and articulate and also get some info about the bank. If you can, try to establish a connection btw your course of study and banking. You may also up your scores by citing some previous experiences to support your answers. I must add that those people were friendly. Hope someone finds this useful.
PLEASE OOOO, my people, I still need some extra info. How long does it take b4 they contact ppl after interviews? If one isn't selected, do they bother informing him/her? And how do they contact after interviews, by phone call, sms or email?
Please I need authoritative info. Thanks
