Just got my visa at the US embassy in abuja. To God be all the glory, honour and adoration.

Me. Good morning (looking straight into his eyes and smiling)
VO: good morning, can I have ur documents
VO: what is the purpose of your trip to the US?
Me: to pursue a masters degree in xxxxxxx
VO: At what school?
Me: xxxxxx university
VO: OK i see. And you have funding..... (looking at my I - 20)
Me: yes. scholarships from the university and xxxxx foundation.
VO: asks me about the foundation
Me: i tel him
VO: what area of your course do you want to specialize in
Me: i tell him
VO: right. that's an area that is generating a lot of interest at the moment
Me: yes it is
VO: i see you've had previous travels
Me: One actually
VO: And what do you intend to do in career/profession, just out of curiosity
Me: to become a professor, blah, blah, blah, blah
VO: Please pick up your visa on wednesday or thursday at this address. I wish you the best in your studies.
Hands me my I - 20 and a white paper but retains my passport

The guy who interviewd me was on old guy in booth 8. Although he denied one or two persons before me, he was quite warm and friendly.

The guy in booth 7 was young and harsh. denied almost every one that he interviwed. He had one kind of face dat said you CAN'T bullshit me. Imagine what he asked one guy, "this school is very expensive and in a very expensive city, why do u chooose to spend this ammount of money instead of investing it in your future in Nigeria". after that question d applicant just the fumble, na im my guy deny am oh!!

The babes in booths 6 and 9 are sha thorough oooo. The questions I heard them asking people enh? Like say na state CID interrogation. But they were granting sha.

You paid the asylum fee to the guys at d counter for ur sevis . I paid 120k and someone else paid lesser .but u ve paid d highest rate

Dr pak: Does payin half of one's tuition fee increases d chance of bin issued a visa at d consulate.

No it doesn't as they won't be aware u made payment to school .

obusco4lyfe: it says on d sch site dt evry student has to hv completd there medical test 10days b4 d first day of class nd d first day of class is 27th of aug wich makes 10days earlier to b 17th of aug meanin i hv 2 b there b4 dt date

There us shouldn't be a problem for u as an international student

Is it posibu to request 4 an expedietd date. Nid ur advice pls!

I think you will need to upload ur I-20 to the emergency form , sevis fee is not a criteria .

Its holiday in Usa and think d embassy here is not opened . Will try again tommorrow . I am scared and my counselor keeps mailing if ve gotten my visa dat she can't wait to cme pik me up . I need a damn good date .

Can I change my consulate office to lagos as I am seen no good date for me in abuja and my emergency approval expires july 31st .

Are u sure she is not a barbaric girl, if not please look for another girl coz the way u complaining will not make u feel good with her in ur relationship and u might just be disdained . Girls like that are somewhat slowspoke and it hurts . Again she might just be making u an option. As you know without communocation there is no relationship so why.r u forcin ur sef on her . Pls you just too yound to be mentally drailed . I use to have a girl like that she won't communicate so stop call calling now am happy with someone else .

Sponship letter does it matter for interview , and the statement of acct refference shud gotten from bank or lawyer or court . Which one

WARYZ: @Allohrandy or any1 that just paid is sevis through the cotonou route lately,please can you tell me the exact amount the bank wrote on the small paper for you to go and change(like the amount in their own currency)cuz I wanna change the money to their own currency here in nigeria so I wldnt bother changing it when I get their,I just walk into the bank and pay with the money I brought with me.please I need fast answers cuz am going to cotonou on thursday or friday,any1 else that wants to pay his or hers can reply to this too

I made a mistake while i wanted to make payment for my visa fee today.I was suppose to pay for non-academic/vocational but i made a mistake and paid for academic.but they tend to be the same amount.Do you think this will cause any confusion or not.Please help me as the gtb staff told me it shouldnt be a problem at all.I need to know.

When you are filling you DS 160 state the correct visa category you applying for . The fee is not a problem . But just don't do the same mistake on ur ds 160.

My statement closes balance on 5million plus and tuition is 25k a year .I hope its ok by me .

imperiouxx: Haba! thats the normal thing nau. He will get all the documents collected with his passport back on the day he is asked to go get his visa.

My visa was approved today by 12noon.
No GRE and with a low Toefl score of 72.
They collected my intl. Passport and I-20 form. Is the vo supposed to collect my form I-20 as well?
I will post the full details when I reach home

You will need ur i-20 at POE so I guess u need to go to the security and tell them wots going on or wen u go get ur passport

Friend if your parent can afford your education in USA why do you think it is not advisable to leave for a university in the USA when u ave an admission . All you need to do is apply as a transfer student . Do more reasearch about ur goal in life and u will discover there nottin bad in doing that .

Am sure the international office or your admission couselor shud be able to answer this precisely ,so I advise you try get in touch with them . Calling them will be the best .
