Foreign Affairs / Re: Mass Suicide Planned By African Immigrants In South Africa. by RSA(m): 11:52am On May 18, 2012
Four years later Somalis are happily living in South Africa, they just like millions of other immigrants from the continnet are enjoyinng, peace, security and freedom in Mandelaland.South Africans are indeed their brothers keepers, brother fights and brothers make peace.I know places in Africa where brothers are killing each other like flies,as I'm typing this another bomb blast in Kano killing innocent people.
Oh I love you South Africa,God chosen country,The sun is rising from South, and will bring light to the rest of Africa.God love South Africa.

Politics / Re: Nigeria (and Other African Countries) Need To Follow Botswana And Not The West. by RSA(m): 9:24am On May 08, 2012
Funny how we just follow what the western media tell us about what's in our backround. They said the same thing about Zimbabwe and Mugabe when he allowed white Brits to own 90% of all commercial farm land in Zimbabwe. They said Zimbabwe is a true model of democracy in Africa, that Mugabe is the brightest African leader, the most educated. They said all this things while he was busy with ethnic cleansing of Ndebele people in his backyards. And we all know what he is called now after listening to real Zimbabweans.

Did you know that Botswana has been ruled by the same party since they gain independence in 1966? That there is no freedom of press in that country? That Basarwa people(Bushmen/Khoisans) are chased from their land in the Kgalagadi without compensation nor a place to live to make way for diamond mining companies? Opposition politics are almost none existence.
And that the current President Seretse Ian Khama is the son of the founding President of Botswana,Sir Seretse Khama. So they run this country like a family business. The President's brother, cousins and relatives are all heading different government departments.

But then when you lick the western government's a%%s,Nobody remember or see the bad in you.So good luck to all the countries that want to model their democracy to that of Botswana. As for me I'll pass for now. grin
Foreign Affairs / Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by RSA(m): 5:20pm On May 07, 2012
Who is South Africa fighting? The last time the 'country' had a good war was during appartheid, since the new goverment took over we tried to occupy Lesotho under the leadership of Mangosuthu Buthelezi when Mandela put him in charge for a week. And guess what? Our super military was humbled by Lesotho defence force.

So until we go to war with some country,I wont rate SA millitary as the best in the continent.Atleast Nigerians are using their fighters jet on MEND and BOKOHARAM,which means they're getting some actions, there fore I rate them higher than RSA.

My list will be

Egypt(They're forever ready to engage, with Israel as neighbour they have to be prepare, and they're better equipped)

Angola(Just came out of one of the longest and brutal civil war, with oil money and the combat history, they could fight tomorrow

Rwanda( they're still at war, although not in their country but are running things in DRC,Kabila is originally from Rwanda

Ethopia (They have the history and combat culture and East Africa best millitary)

Nigeria (They're the biggest contributor of personels to UN and other international peace keeping communities, and with MEND and BOKO they're getting enough action.

RSA (One of the best equipped millitary in Africa but lack experience, all the former soldiers are mersenaries in American,British,Australian armies and they're also helping in topling some goverment in Africa. They're soldiers for hire.
Sports / Re: Rashidi Yekini Is Dead? by RSA(m): 8:25am On May 05, 2012
A real African star.He was very popular in RSA after the 94 USA qualifier matches played in Lagos and Johannesburg. This was RSA first world cup qualification games after the sanctions. The first leg i think Nigeria beat RSA 4-0 in lagos and Yekini and Siasia where the stars of that team, second leg was a nil all draw.

Yekini together with Siasia where loved by everyone and all the youngster wanted to be Yekini's and Siasia's.

May his soul rest in peace the son of Africa(Robala ka kagiso morrwa afrika)

Benjamin123: Why is there a category for 'best Nigerian movie'?

I think they're different from 'normal' movies as the world knows it.Just like Bollywood that is different from Hollywood. You cannot judge the two against each other.
South Africa,Zimbabwe,Senegal,Mali,North Africa countries takes making movies as an art form, where as Nollywood movies are about storytelling. There is less emphasis on sound, light, time, good acting and quality in this movies,a single story in the movie can take up to six hours to be told.

And because they're well supported across the continent its only fair that there should be an award for them only.

I don't know where you got your information, but still even if Joburg,CT and Durban don't want to host we have lots of cities in SA which can host.
Port Elizabeth
Kimberly
Rustenburg
Bloemfontein
Pretoria
Polokwane/Pieterberg
Nelspriut/Mbombela

And all this cities each have more than one world class stadiums and facilities.

South Africa is not a two city country,it is well developed in all its corners.

How many blaks in S.A can boast of running a successful company dt penetrates d african market? Did i hear u say Mtn? I think some whites founded it.

MTN is black owned black run,but just like any other multinational companies it have hundreds of shareholders all over the world but its CEO and President is black if that matters.

olayinka1987: I can't believe the nerve of these black South Africans mouthing off about Nigeria.

What did this South Africans do to you? Did you get fired from your Stanbic job? or you don't have a network on your MTN,or your DSTV subscription got cut of for non payment.

olayinka1987:
Don't these idiots know that they wouldn't be anywhere without the oyinbo in their country? Have they forgotten how Nigeria supported them when they couldn't even do a thing in their own country because they allowed the oyinbo to bully them?

What ever Nigeria did,we are greatful but nobody forced your grannies to do anything,if you offered help good and should stay as that,God will reward you for that because South Africans wont,we owe you nothing.
We got our freedom through blood of our people, not Nigerians blood.I want to remind you that while whites/boers/oyinbo where bullying us,your own were killing 3 million Igbos. We the bullied South Africans where crying for you,get it?

olayinka1987:
Is it a good thing for black South Africans too become chest beaters even though they haven't done anything in their own country? I feel like South Africa would be poorer than Somalia and Ethiopia if it wasn't for the Whites there.

I'm chest beating because,We are still the biggest economy in Africa after the black government took over.Infrustructure development in South Africa is second to none in Africa since this black government took over.Black people who where not allowed to do business only 18 years ago are penetrating our markets and of Africa. Our universities which are some of he top in the world are producing black graduates in high numbers.Black middle class is growing at a high pace.I bet you didn't know that.

olayinka1987:
What do you think?

I think you are a bored jealous little man, with no education and no brain but full of hassling mentality. If you are still asking us where South Africa will be with out whites, then my answer will be where Africa will have been if European did not colonise it.

My point exactly, records are not properly kept in Nigeria,in South Africa right now I can give you the number of babies that are born at this moment. We keep records in South Africa, crime, deaths, birth, deseases, everything and that is where this lazy journalist go to get their stories. And when you don't have records then they don't report but it does not mean there is nothing to report.

bukola:

the yellow card is a small thing i think nigeria to should stnd and say any sa coming to nigeria should tender his\her hiv test result

Too many fools here, who think with their village brains.

If we look at the numbers Nigeria is the second country behind South Africa with the highest HIV prevalence.

http://www.avert.org/africa-hiv-aids-statistics.htm

Take the fact that in South Africa almost each and every person have tested for HIV and the records are close to 100% correct. The Nigerian number is an estimate based on the cases that are reported, there are millions in Nigeria who don't know their status or who knows it but could not divulge that information to anyone because of their religions or don't want to bring disgrace to their families.

So who know that majority of visitors to South Africa including that Senator where here for HIV/AIDS medical, since South Africa is almost the expert on the disease? If you don't belief me look at the life expectancy between our two countries.Even with AIDS South Africans live longer than Nigerians.

South Africa apologised for the 124 deported Nigerians but nothing changes regarding the yellow fever certificate.

Nothing changed,Nigerians will still need to produce the certificate when visiting the republic. Our government only apologised because your government became emotional about this issue and they also used this as a nation building to divert your current domestic problems, like Boko Haram that is on the killing string and cannot be stopped.

SA Cabinet shocked at Nigerian incident
MAR 8, 2012 | SAPA | 8 COMMENTS
“Cabinet expressed shock and regret at reports regarding how African foreign nationals, particularly Nigerians, have been treated at OR Tambo International Airport”

Cabinet was shocked by the treatment reportedly meted out to African foreign nationals, particularly Nigerians, at OR Tambo International Airport, Minister in the Presidency Collins Chabane said on Thursday.

Briefing the media in Cape Town following Cabinet’s fortnightly meeting the day before, he said a task team had been set up to investigate the matter.

“Cabinet expressed shock and regret at reports regarding how African foreign nationals, particularly Nigerians, have been treated at OR Tambo International Airport,” Chabane said

“The genesis of the issue seems to be about yellow fever certificates. A high-level ministerial task team comprised of the various affected ministries has been set up to get to the bottom of the issue.”

Chabane said a joint media briefing, involving the department of international relations and co-operation and the Nigerian High Commission, would be held at noon on Thursday.

“The details of what exactly happened and further remedial measures will be discussed at that briefing,” he said.

It is not making news because they are used to doing it and getting away with it, after all, they think Nigerians are docile. The fact that we cannot generate 24hrs power supply does not mean people should treat us like criminals.

I can't just imagine if I told took my family of a vacation to SA only to be deported because I do not have Yellow fever vaccine. I cant even imagine how I will feel. I have travelled all around the world and no country has ever asked me for Yellow Fever Vaccine, so why South Africa? Such an insult!

I understand but you're going about it the wrong way.Taking over South African privately own companies is not the solution. And it is not only Nigerians who where targeted, most countries in Africa and and as far as Argentina where targeted.Belief me is not SA and Naija issue. There are other citizen that where affected

Statistics about HIV are conducted by international agencies who visit countries all over (including Nigeria) and use a sample to estimate the percentage of people living with a disease. Their figures are credible and if you have been following international politics you will remember a South African President saying HIV is not the cause of AIDs and AIDs is not caused by intercourse.

On the business side, the money to build the Palms and other Shopping centres where Shoprite operates was not provided by South Africans, it wsa provided by Actis and other Nigerian Investors. Shoprite is just a brand who are making millions in Nigeria. They themselves recently said they can have upto 270 Shoprites in Nigeria, so if they leave, they have the most to loose because other brands will take their place.

And yes we can kick MTN out of Nigeria and they will loose the most. Phone companies all over are begging to come into Nigeria and besides we already have Globacom that operates within and outside Nigeria so what makes you think we need any South Africans to run a phone company. Wake up - we have the population and resources. Even though our leaders are corrupt and thieves, the least they can do is to send a messae to those pompous South Africans that they have no right to treat us like dirt and if they do, we will fight back. I am sure if you were one of those deported you will feel differently!

From a country that cannot have 24 hours of uninterrupted power supply. So much for boasting.

Ps, This issue is not even making news in South Africa,I'm getting all my update here. That is how important it is for South Africa.
