Mr Mo somethings never changes, you don't give up.

Your claims that there's a hostility against Nigerians by South africans is dissapointing.

You're judgement is clouded by your hattred for my people and country.

You didn't start the thread, leave it to the two gentleman who are giving honest and unimotional advises
to people who are eager to come to South africa.
Just for the records,SA economy with all the world economic problems is doing better than Mbeki's time.Zuma might be contoversial in his personal life but he's a very good president.

Foreign AffairsSouth Africa Discover Cure For Malaria by RSA(op): 2:16pm On Aug 29, 2012
University of Cape Town scientists in collaboration with Swiss-based colleagues are onto a possible breakthrough in the fight against malaria, Science and Technology Minister Naledi Pandor announced on Tuesday.

"I have the pleasure to announce the discovery of a compound which will be the first ever clinical candidate researched on African soil as part of a modern pharmaceutical industry drug discovery programme," she said in a statement.

The recently discovered compound, from the aminopyridine class, not only had the potential to become part of a single-dose cure for all strains of malaria, but might also be able to block transmission of the parasite from person to person, she said.

This followed a research collaboration involving the Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV), based in Switzerland, and the Drug Discovery and Development Centre (H3-D) at UCT.

On the basis of initial results it had been selected by MMV for further development.

"The candidate molecule is novel, potent, and has the potential to have a significant impact on global malaria control and eradication," Pandor said.

The science and technology department had invested R25 million in this pioneering programme between MMV and UCT.

"This is a powerful demonstration of how much can be accomplished when open-minded researchers come together for the sake of the greater good of humanity.

"The discovery that we announce today is a significant victory in the battle to alleviate the burden of disease in Africa.

"Clearly the war on disease is not yet won, but I am excited by the role that our excellent scientists have played in finding a potential single-dose cure for malaria and possibly preventing its transmission."

South Africa in general had built considerable strength in clinical research over the past decade. The main focus had been on HIV/Aids and TB.

This development had occurred together with significant growth in the basic sciences that underpinned infectious disease research (immunology, virology, microbiology, biochemistry, and genetics), Pandor said.

sambos994: I send my regards to your nation.
Thank you.

This could have been avoided. This miners who the lowest paid earn R5000(100000 naira) per month wanted their salary to be increased to R12500(250000 Naira),which I think is a rediculous demand. And they wanted this so bad that they were willing to even die for it,while there are millions in South Africa who are unemployed. As much as I feel for their families, which they should have thought about before acting like criminals they are,I think they gave the police no choice but to shoot.

I must admit that South Africans are a very violent nation, although we never really have a real civil war,but we only solve our problems through violence, just look at the police reaction to this incident, xenophobic attacks, goverment services protests, labour strikes and other protests are all violent. We burn clinics, local goverments offices, mayor's houses when we protest.

I know this wont bring any security instability in the country but it should make us think deep as a society on how we should behave as people.

BTW, RSA and playmode what are your comments?
I am dissapointed and shocked. There's a story that some of those miners went to see juju man who gave them potion that will protect them against bullets, and that explain the bravery of this miners charging at the armed policemen.

See the article. http://www.timeslive.co.za/local/2012/08/14/knobkerries-sangoma-as-lonmin-workers-vow-to-stay-on-hill

Local residents said an inyanga (herbalist) or sangoma (traditional healer) would perform a ritual on the mountain top and sprinkle the men with muti (traditional medicine) to "make them brave".

Nine people -- two police officers, two security guards, three protesters and two other men -- have been killed during protests at the mine, which began on Friday.

SportsRe: Nigerian Premier League Rated Best In Africa For 2012 by RSA(m): 10:01pm On Jul 17, 2012
South Africa will never make it this kind of ratings because football in South Africa is business, run by businesmen who invest their own money.
Participating in CAF competitions for South African clubs doesn't make business sense.SA league winner get more money than CAF Champions league winner.
The other reason was exposer, they could play in CAF for wider coverage,to expose their sponsors to a bigger audiance, but still even there they getting more coverage on Supersport while playing in their own league. With SA lEague televised to more than 40 countries in the continent.
Personally though I hope SA clubs take CAF competitions seriously not for money but to show support and comradie to CAF.I know there's a talk of not supporting CAF until we have one of own leading it.

Gege talks up Turkey transfer.
ree State Stars of South Africa defender Gege Soriola has revealed he is negotiating an offer to play in Turkey.

The former Bayelsa United and Heartland FC star, who was unwilling to let out the name of the clubs from Turkey chasing him, insisted that he remains a Free State Stars player.

"I have two offers from Turkey and one from Greece," he informed MTNFootball.com

"We are already at the negotiating table so I cannot say much, but right now I remain a Free State Stars player fully and proudly so.”

MTNFootball.com further scooped that his club are not willing to sell him to any South African even though Moroka Swallows and Supersport United are believed to be hot in the hunt for the uncompromising central defender.

The player, who was on the bench in the Super Eagles last three qualifiers, noted that he is happy at Free State Stars.

"In life everyone aspires for a progressive movement and it’s the same with football. But presently am happy at Stars, but that is not to say if the right offer comes, I will not move," he said.

Gege has also warned his former Nigerian club Bayelsa United to make the most of their return to the top flight after they won promotion from the Nigeria National league (NNL).

He congratulated the club for promotion to the Nigeria Premier League, but was also quick to warn that if the club management failed to do the right things, the club will suffer the same fate of 2010 when they were relegated.

"I’m happy for the team because it’s not easy to get promotion to the premier league. But the management must change its attitude because we went on relegation because they owed us two years’ allowance and the boys felt disgruntled and didn't give their best," he said.

THE Azanian People's Organisation's youth league has called on former president Nelson Mandela to apologise to the nation "before he dies" for selling out black people's struggle.

The league's president, Amukelani Ngobeni, said in a statement that Mandela would not have peace should he die without apologising for "selling out black people's struggle through the secret talks with the apartheid government".

Foreign AffairsRe: Who's Greater - Mugabe (Who Took His Peoples Land Back) Or Mandela (Who Didn't) by RSA(m): 11:09am On Jun 07, 2012
Mandela ruled South Africa for 5 years, and his main task was to reconcile the country. The country was on the verge of a civil war.Zulus and Xhosas, blacks and whites were at the crossroad.Mandela defused this tension, that is why he is a hero to some.Mandela's mission was to make peace and allow freedom for all to exist in South Africa.

On the other hand,Mugabe ruled Zimbabwe for 32 years, and for 20 years he was a very good friends with the west,he tried to do Ethnic cleansing OF Ndebele people, the west turned blind eye to this.

And it is only when his own people who where not happy with his leadership tried to tople him that he changed his direction.Personally I think Mugabe is not really a pro black leader that we think he is, but he is a dictator who is trying to clinch to power using every trick in the book.

cesil92: Maybe because its been a very long time the whites left nigeria. Secondly because there are no whites in nigeria again, but a concentration of blacks which makes the black magic which opposses good things and civilization works well.. Just a suggestion huh?
So according to you,5 million whites are better than 160 millions of you?

People its not about whites, its about our goverment policies, respecting the country's laws, having structures that enable businesses to grow and having a goverment that invest in its people.

Our goverment made it possible for our business people to expand and dominate in Africa.DSTV,Shoprite,MTN to name a few are in all this African countries because our goverment prepared away for them to operates in those markets, they have our goverment protection.

Yes because of our past,as someone has already quoted the Bantu education act, whites started a bit ahead of blacks but blacks are catching up,although it is not about who is richer aslong as everyone is rich.If you look at the forbes list I 'm certain that there's one black SA there.

Naija people work with their mouths.
PoliticsRe: Why Is South Africa More Developed And Stable Than Nigeria?? by RSA(m):
Funny and somehow sickening and dissapointing that some Nigerians here glorify everything whites.

Let me say if Hendrik Verwoord could wake up from the dead and come back to South Africa he will be lost,South Africa has changed for the better.

ANC,black goverment has invested heavily in the infrustructures, roads, rails, ports, healthcare, schools, and in powersupply we've build new nuclear power stations to supply our nation with constant power. The main reason they invested so heavily was to create jobs for black people, and majorities of the companies that did this projects were black companies.
Please note that all those projects had timeline and were completed on time, time is money.

Here is an example
http://www.thenewage.co.za/51929-1009-53-Ambitious_city_project_planned

The city of Tshwane planned a major transformation of Centurion with a new multipurpose development to be completed by 2018.
Centurion Symbio-City will feature the tallest building in Africa and will have two office and one residential tower. Further, there will be hotels and retail facilities.

Ramokgopa said the tallest tower will reach an impressive 110 storeys and will be flanked by two towers of 80 and 60 floors. The total height of the tallest tower will be 447m.

If you guys still want the answer to the poster's question then the answer is South Africans work first and talk later, while others achive things with their mouths.
SportsRe: Nigerian Premier League: Why Don't People Watch It? by RSA(m): 11:59am On May 25, 2012
You guys must support your own brand.I have watched NPL from South Africa and I have seen a lot of improvements.
The pitches are getting better, the play is of good standard and coverage is of good quality. All the league need is local support.
In SA locals support their own league ten times more that Europeans. If local clubs are playing on Supersport 4,and EPL on SS3 majority will watch SS4.
Nigeria has talented locally based footballers, just look at how NPL clubs are dominating Africa. If you want your league to grow then just support it,you'll see companies following the masses with money.

BusinessRe: Walmart Nigeria: Good Or Bad Idea? (Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala) by RSA(m): 12:19pm On May 22, 2012
If you have Game and Makro which are owned by Massmart in Nigeria then Wolmart is already operating in your country.Wolmart bought SA owned Massmart which owned Game and other retail stores.

In South Africa Wolmart struggled to get the permission to buy into Massmart from Competition Commission of South Africa, but I think the deal went through at the end.
I'm not sure about Nigeria, but South Africa which have the culture of Super Retailers like Shoprite,Pick and Pay,Games,Makro,Spar and others, will mostly lose in terms of employment, since most companies will shed jobs in order to compete with this giant company.
Although Walmart would benefit the end user, consumer, but it might be bad in a long run for the local producers, job creation and the local economy as a whole.

Greg Etafia from Moroka Swallows was unlucky to lift the trophy after his side went to the last game of the season with 2 point behind Orlando Pirates, both teams won their last game and Swallows came second.Etafia was one of the pillar for his team that was fighting for the championship this season.

Wiilliam Okpara,a former Super Eagle goal minder is the team manager of Orlando Pirates.

Felix Obada and Prince Olomu where on the losing side against Moroka Swallows, their team Maritzburg United finished the league in position eleven.

Soriola Gege of Free State Stars has been a stalwart for this modest Free State club, was shown a red card against Mamelodi Sundowns, they finished the season on the sixth position.

Pere Ariwarai of Santos could not help his team to avoid the relegation play offs with First Division clubs, his club finished 15 out of 16 clubs.

Joshua Obaje of Black Leopard the team that knocked out Warri Wolves in the confederation cup, helped his team to avoid relegation after winning 3-0 against Ajax Amsterdam.

George Akpabio was on the losing side against Obaje’s club, Ajax finished the season on position 9.
Ezenwa Otorogu who didn’t play much football with Bloemfontein Celtics this season and is expected to move else, his club finished position 8.
Strker Daniel Agbagwu was released by Free State Stars

Another Nigerian player Chibuzor Nwogbo who helped University of Pretoria, known as Amatuks to gain promotion to the Premier Soccer league(PSL) from Nationa First Division(NFD).And has also attracted attention from clubs in turkey.
Foreign AffairsRe: How Is Nelson Mandela An Africa Hero? by RSA(m): 7:32pm On May 19, 2012
Its a difficult one for me because a 40 year old Mandela who went to jail was a fighter and a Pan Africanist but a 70 year old who came out was a bhudist.Who gave his enemies another cheek to slap after being slapped on the other side.E.g is the love the whites have for him, that should tell you something, whites just don't love black people unless there's something they're gaining from that relationship.
The only African hero I know is Kwame Nkrumah.

You can never have a black on black racism, maybe tribalism or pure jealousy or hatred but not racism. Botswana is ruled by an english dictator(khama's mother is english and he was born and educated in england),who does not belief in african agendas and freedom of press in botswana.Basarwa are mistreated in their own country.Malema in his own way wanted to expose this goverment that doesn't respect human rights but loved by the west.

andrewza: And how is this different from julis "shoot the boer" or any other racist remark from the ANC.
First let me say black man can never be racist,if he hate it is because he has a reason not because you're white.whites hate blacks for being blacks.

I sang that song and still singing it.Let me first teach you something the racist reporters in our country didn't tell you, just like when most of you say .
Dubula i'bhunu,in this instance means shoot or take arms against the oppressor,it means the racist regime and its agents not white people.

We call whites umlungu and racist rigime and its agents ama'bhunu. That is why even Mandela use to sing it,there's youtube video of him.

I hope you learning.I will give you the benefit of a doubt and say you didn't know this.

Our racist media decided to misinterpret this for propoganda purpose, and this is their strategy to deny blacks their past struggle. To them apaartheid never exist it's just a pigment of our imaginations, they want to brainwash us so that we forget the past.

andrewza: A Lot of the SANDF would remain neutral and the more elliat units would go be on the white peoples side.
For an African child war and struggle is part of who we are,yes there's going to be casualties but we where never going to surrender.Dying for ones land is the most honorable thing one can do.Millions of our people were killed, apaarheid regime was more brutal than what the Nazi's did to the jews.

Just like Jews our story must be heard millions times by those care to listen. And I wish we had a law that sentance every racist/i'bhunu to death by stoning

I really wish we had a full blown war in South Africa.Whites South Africans are the most racist animals I've ever seen.
We should have drove them to the sea,Mandela sold us out.And sad part is they're more racist than during apaartheid.

FW De Klerk went on CNN and said apaartheid was good for blacks and he is still defending that racist statement and there are lots of whites South Africans who are supporting this idiot.
http://edition.cnn.com/2012/05/16/world/africa/south-africa-de-klerk/

The whites President Helen Zille also openly on twitter said black learners who are in Cape Town are 'refugees'.How can you be a refuugee in your own country? Or because Cape Town is white black are not allowed there? And what I hate more is this black cowards who support this racist party and its people for personal gains.

Now there's painting of Jacob Zuma with his trouser unzipped and his manhood out, painting was done by white racist guy,the whites now are celebrating showing solidarity to the painter when black think it is a racist painting. They won't paint Elizabeth their Queen in this manner.

PoliticsRe: Nigeria (and Other African Countries) Need To Follow Botswana And Not The West. by RSA(m): 9:24am On May 08, 2012
Funny how we just follow what the western media tell us about what's in our backround. They said the same thing about Zimbabwe and Mugabe when he allowed white Brits to own 90% of all commercial farm land in Zimbabwe. They said Zimbabwe is a true model of democracy in Africa, that Mugabe is the brightest African leader, the most educated. They said all this things while he was busy with ethnic cleansing of Ndebele people in his backyards. And we all know what he is called now after listening to real Zimbabweans.

Did you know that Botswana has been ruled by the same party since they gain independence in 1966? That there is no freedom of press in that country? That Basarwa people(Bushmen/Khoisans) are chased from their land in the Kgalagadi without compensation nor a place to live to make way for diamond mining companies? Opposition politics are almost none existence.
And that the current President Seretse Ian Khama is the son of the founding President of Botswana,Sir Seretse Khama. So they run this country like a family business. The President's brother, cousins and relatives are all heading different government departments.

But then when you lick the western government's a%%s,Nobody remember or see the bad in you.So good luck to all the countries that want to model their democracy to that of Botswana. As for me I'll pass for now. grin
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by RSA(m): 5:20pm On May 07, 2012
Who is South Africa fighting? The last time the 'country' had a good war was during appartheid, since the new goverment took over we tried to occupy Lesotho under the leadership of Mangosuthu Buthelezi when Mandela put him in charge for a week. And guess what? Our super military was humbled by Lesotho defence force.

So until we go to war with some country,I wont rate SA millitary as the best in the continent.Atleast Nigerians are using their fighters jet on MEND and BOKOHARAM,which means they're getting some actions, there fore I rate them higher than RSA.

My list will be

Egypt(They're forever ready to engage, with Israel as neighbour they have to be prepare, and they're better equipped)

Angola(Just came out of one of the longest and brutal civil war, with oil money and the combat history, they could fight tomorrow

Rwanda( they're still at war, although not in their country but are running things in DRC,Kabila is originally from Rwanda

Ethopia (They have the history and combat culture and East Africa best millitary)

Nigeria (They're the biggest contributor of personels to UN and other international peace keeping communities, and with MEND and BOKO they're getting enough action.

RSA (One of the best equipped millitary in Africa but lack experience, all the former soldiers are mersenaries in American,British,Australian armies and they're also helping in topling some goverment in Africa. They're soldiers for hire.
