Remember the story of the doughnuts seller that makes headline few weeks ago? Well according to reports, help seems to have come his way. This is shared by a lawyer who decided to look into the situation and decided to give the man a little raise from his purse. According to Inibehe Effiong, He said..

Today, I met with Mr. Lawrence-White Udoka, the doughnut seller and 200 level Pol. Science Education student of University of Uyo who became a national celebrity and media sensation after I posted his photos on social media.

By God's grace, the sum of N107,000.00 (One Hundred and Seven Thousand Naira) was realised from my funds raising campaign to assist his business. Recall that I promised to disclose the sum realized. He has used the money to rent a shop where people can sit and patronize his goods.

Mr. Lawrence-White has expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed and those that patronize him daily.

The Department of State Services said it has uncovered a criminal gang which specialises in robbing foreigners, either visiting or living in Abuja.

Members of the gang who robbed an expatriate in a high brow hotel in Abuja and carted away his money and other valuables, have however been arrested.

According to a statement by Tony Opuiyo for the agency, two of the gang members, Ikechukwu OBADLEGWU and Ikechukwu Joseph EKE are in the net.

While OBADLEGWU carried out surveillance on potential targets for the group, EKE is the kingpin and mastermind of the whole operation.

DSS said it has almost recovered all the stolen items.

The DSS said it arrested a notorious fraudster at Gwaron Dutse, Kano Municipal, Kano State.

The fraudster was identified as Auwalu Abdullahi YAKASAI.

He was apprehended for allegedly defrauding Jaiz and Unity Banks of N100 Million and N50 Million respectively.

The Service also arrested one Bashir SHUAIBU, on 5 December, 2016 at Tsamiya village, Gezawa LGA of Kano State for obtaining money from unsuspecting victims through threat messages. He was arrested while in the process of defrauding another victim.

Rwanda Football officials were forced to take action after black magic was allegedly used during a Rwandan Premier League between Mukura Victory and Rayon Sports. In the game Mukura’s striker Moussa Camara whose team was down 1-0 was seen planting what appeared to be a charm on the opponent’s goalpost and moments later he scored to level the game. .

It has decided to fine any player seen to take part in witchcraft, with a 100,000 Rwandan Francs fine equivalent to around N57,000. If a club has been involved they will lose three points and face a fine of 2.9million RWF (about N1.6m). .

Vedasite Kayiranga, vice president of the Rwanda FA said: “In FERWAFA (Federation of Rwanda Football Association) statutes we don’t have any law punishing the use of witchcraft because there is nowhere in the world where it has been proven that it can influence the outcome of a game.

“However, with the violence between players because of allegations that one team is using it, we have decided to enact laws.” Jimmy Mulisa, former Rwandan international added: “It is sad that we still have such beliefs in our football, it does not only give a bad image to the country but kills football development. .

“I think [the FA] should take serious measures against such behaviour. “Personally, I don’t believe in it, and I had to cut short my playing career because many teams I played for believed in witchcraft which I didn’t.” The game between Mukura Victory and Rayon Sports
ended 1-1.

A suspected militant and member of a gang planning to blow up the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city, has been arrested by the police.

Police recovered two AK 47 Rifles, two cartons of Explosives and Detonators.The arrest, according to the police was made after several weeks of Meticulous follow up on intelligence information on the activities of some militants in Lagos and Ogun area, who have been gathering explosives to blow up the 3rd Mainland Bridge in Lagos State.

An official of the Police Public Relation office, Jimoh Moshood, confirmed the arrest of the man and the seizure of the explosives making devices.

He said that one of the key members of the group who specialises in explosives, Abiodun Amos, 43, also referred to as Senti, was arrested on Wednesday.

Abiodun is from Ese Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State, the police said.

Abiodun was arrested at the bank of Majidun River in Ikorodu area of Lagos with two AK47 rifles hidden in a bag he brought from their hideout in the Creek.

The police say he has mentioned other gang members.

“Analysis of the GSM number of the arrested Suspect revealed his closed Associate in Ikorodu area of Lagos,” the police said.

A statement by the force also said that the suspect, on sighting police operatives deployed to Ikorodu on December 26 to apprehend him, jump out of his car and escaped to the bush.

“On Searching the Toyota Camry car two cartons of Gelatine Dynamite Explosives and hundreds of detonators were recovered in the boot of the car,” the statement read.

The police said efforts were on to arrest the remaining gang members.

Following the clearance of Boko Haram terrorists stronghold in Sambisa forest and confidence building visit to celebrate the Yuletide period with troops in Operation LAFIYA DOLE by the hierarchy of the Nigerian Army led by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General TY Buratai, over 3,000 refugees and internally displaced persons returned to Damasak town, Mobbar Local Government Area of Borno State today.

To receive the returnees was a combined team of Local Government Officials, traditional rulers, village elders, and religious leaders. Similarly, the Military, Civilian JTF and Vigilantes screened the returnees.

A woman in Majidun Awori neighborhood Ikorodu Lagos killed her husband over Christmas shopping. It was reported that the woman demanded money from her husband which the man said he has no money, an argument ensued and the woman stabbed him, effort to revive him proved abortive as the man gave up the ghost. Seeing that the man has died, the neighbors quickly informed the police and the police whisked her away. See more pictures below..
