somehow: The wise team of the president simply suspended him and not removed him
Very smart move!
Go to court to challenge the action,he remains suspended until the court proves otherwise. Nobody trusts buhari to obey court orders. That is crux of the matter. Getting the court to void the suspension is easy. No judge worth its salt would rule in buhari favour. But buhari the mad man will not obey court orders. |

It's Buhari till 2023. Even if he wins in 2023, the opposition he is facing now would be a child's play compared to then. It would be a waste of four years. But I guess, that is enough for you |

baby124: Any statement release on Nigeria will come from the US government not the embassy. Embassy has no right to issue this statement. Only travel alerts at the worst. They are not a government in Nigeria or an authority in Nigeria. Let’s keep things in perspective. If Nigerian embassy did the same or even Nigerian government you will be the first to insult them. This is not the first time the US embassy is issuing pre emptive statements in their host countries. Those statements are often well thought out, and in line with the constitution of the home countries. Nigeria embassy cannot do the same in America because America is not a Banana Republic. They don't need the support of Nigeria to elect their president. Their president also respect the constitution and don't need a foreign country to put them in order. Buhari and the apc was practically placed in office by the Obama administration. And when those objectives initially agreed between both parties is breached, the US have a right to call the erring party to order. When Obama was lending to the buhari ambitions, he was not supporting a dictator. Call your president to order, or the US will turn their backs on him. |
Politics › Re: US Embassy Reacts To The Suspension And Replacement Of Chief Justice Of Nigeria by RTSC: 3:33pm On Jan 26, 2019 |
baby124: US embassy is not Trump or Obama. It’s just like Nigerian Embassy in US issuing statement on the government shutdown. Is that not ridiculous? What concerns them with the government of the US? Is that what they are there for? US embassy or government has no power or say in another sovereign nations affairs. Not to talk of common embassy officials. This is not even a whitehouse statement. The US embassy is representing the US government in Nigeria. It is America on Nigerian soil. If Donald Trump wants to take any decision with regards Nigeria, he has to consult the US embassy in Nigeria for information before doing anything. |

Politics › Re: Onnoghen: NBA Urges National Assembly To Save Nigeria by RTSC: 7:19am On Jan 26, 2019 |
Iblad0994: The issue here is the CJN. I care less about Ganduje and the last time i checked the governors enjoy some form of immunity. So lets face the issue of discourse. Buhari just made my day because we need a strong president that is willing to take a stand against corruption irrespective of who is involved. Although, it might be better if Ganduje can be tried, but at least start trying the thieves one by one and anybody who is corrupt in this country will be aware that one day the hand of law will judge them.
If Jonathan got the balls to convict or suspend corrupt people, Buhari would have been left with little to deal with. I could care less about the CJN. Where was he when disobeying court orders and breaching the constitution.? He was somewhere else enjoying the show , now he has ended in the belly of the beast. I don't care about the CJN at all. The issue is that the CJN is protected by some form of immunity, just like ganduje. That immunity can only be breached by the NJC, just like ganduje own is dependent on the state National Assembly. Buhari decided to abuse presidential powers in the one case that favoured him and looked the way in a far more glaring case. He even called ganduje a responsible governor in Paris. Ordering ganduje arrest would not be so different from what he has done to the CJN. Buhari the corrupt nepotic slowpoke knows what he is doing. Corruption is not fought this way. Just watch and see the opposition that will push back against him. Tanko Muhammad is not going to decide all his court cases for him. |

When they are siphoning public funds secretely, democracy is not in danger, but anytime they are being tried for corruption, the democracy is in danger. God bless Buhari for this bold step. It showed he got balls. Why didn't buhari bulldoze democracy when it involves gandollar.? Didn't the idiot and his fans invoke democracy? If he had given the order for gandollar to be arrested by the military, will it be too much compared to this? You are deceiving yourself, not anybody else. |

chocolatelady: When people are complaining like this, it means the leader is in the right direction. Nigeria and its people will never change. They will always want to do things in their own way. Things have to be done differently in this country for once. Like I said before, CJN played into the FG hands by failing to declare his foreign account and the rest and as a person with his status, he should have step aside for law to take its course. Thats Nigerian mentality, they will never go unless u pushed them away. In the western world, the accused chief justice would have resigned once there is a corruption allegation against him but here in Nigeria, no way. The person will just stay put until disgraced out of office. His supension is painful but the right thing should be done without fear or favour. This will definitely send message to other judges that corruption of any kind will not be tolerated. And for PDP that are ranting, I ask them this question, why defend anything corruption? Ur reaction to anything corruption shows that u are synonymous with corruption and will always embrace corruption. Na wa oooh Then why is buhari not doing the right thing when it involves those in his close circles. ? See how quick he breaks the law to further his own interest. How is that the right thing? Why is buhari not this quick when it involves members of his circles.!? Why do you think there is rising opposition if what applies to the goose applies to the gander? Do you want me to start listing cases of corruption that buhari threw a blind eye to? Get sense madam. I am sure you are above 18. |

Zionbel: For those quoting that PMB followed due process by banking on the order from CCT to suspend the CJN. How dumb! Do you realise that the CCT doesn't have the legal authority to recommend the suspension or removal of the CJN. And not even a presidential veto.
That power is vested on only the Nigeria Judicial Council and Senate. To this end PMB has breached the constitution! The man is not going to achieve much. The opposition to his government will keep rising after all he has given them due cause. Even if he wins, he is going to face the mother of all opposition from the pdp that will render his four years a complete waste.
