DPO2019:
If your visa type is F1 no need to pay another MRV just coz you can reschedule. JUst request for EA when it is 60 days to your program start date but if it is not F1 then you might have to pay another MRV if you want a closer date. You will need a new AVITS account with another email for the new MRV.

Mine is visiting visa. Please what then happens to the already scheduled date and appointment if I open a new avits account..will I also be able to open a new abuts account with same name, passport number and details?

Can someone help to tell me how to pay for a new MRV fee when you have exceeded your rescheduling options.

Hi,

I doubt that paying a new MRV fee will do you much good with getting dates. For physical interviews in Lagos, the earliest date is Feb 2026. This has been a pattern since last month (January 2025)

Please I have asked AVITS to update my confirmation page filled on new ds 160 form since last 3 weeks.. my mum interview is this week and still not updated. They are not replying and just said escalated to post

I tried it once and it worked, did you get yourself locked out from your account, did you get the notification that you have exceeded the total number of attempts to log in ?that is the only time you click on the forgot password

"Trick to reset expired password on AVITS

If the standard "reset password" option on the AVITS platform isn't functioning as expected for u

here's an alternative method to attempt:

1. Attempt to Sign In: Go through the usual login process three times, even if your password is expired. This will intentionally trigger a lock on your account.

2. Trigger Password Reset After Lock: Once the system has locked your account, initiate a password reset.

3. Check Your Email: At this stage, you should receive an email with a link to reset your password. This method seems to work more reliably for some users, as the locked status may prompt the platform to send a password reset link.

NB: all the old password reset link you sent in the past will all come. Just wait for a while until the last reset link comes so that way, you are choosing the most recent link which has not expired.

Tried it many times but didn’t work for me😭😭

You can reach out to them by chat during business hours.
Also include an attachment of the May 2025 confirmation page in your ticket.
I just got mine reverted back, so you should too.

Hello pls I need help, I was able to reschedule interview from May 2025 to February 2025. Printed out the confirmation letter. I logged in earlier this week and found that they changed it back to May. I have sent tickets but no response.. I don’t know how else to reach customer service

Please I bought another visa fee and selected the date I could see which is May 2025. But I noticed it says if I cancel the appointment, I will need to pay another MRV fee.. does this mean we are allowed to put appointments just once and can’t change date?

Hey 🤠

1. Yes you can use the method . Talk to a doctor in the US and let your family in Nigeria find a doctor in Nigeria who will refer her . I don't want to reveal lot of info here because of space . Both Nigeria doctor and US doctor must agreed on same terms .

2. If everything work accordingly between both hospitals , then your must will fall under medical emergency and this must be stated in her DS 160.

1. If you want to follow that route then you have to contact a reputable hospital in the USA. The hospital will confirm Mama's ailment and write an invitation letter to her . She must have also booked an appointment with the overseas doctor etc.

2. Aside that , a Nigeria hospital must also confirm the ailment of mama and a Nigeria doctor must have a letter or correspondence where he or she will direct mama to that particular hospital in the USA.

3. Don't join that link they posted . It is dangerous. Aside of me , the only person that can assist you is @debbieeeeeee .

Hey 🤠

1. All glory to God. After the 1st booking you have the opportunity to reschedule once after which your last resort would be to apply for the emergency appointment .

2. Don't rush , keep using your present reschedule option to check for nearer dates but if you are in a haste or want to keep to a specific timeframe then you have to apply for the emergency Appointment.

3. If the emergency Appointment is denied . You will be stuck and have to wait till the last date you were given before you apply for the Emergency Appointment because reschedule and emergency options would disappear from your portal .

Please my mum got attacked by armed robbers in the vehicle on her way back after payment of visa fees. They took all her documents including her international passport. I have already filled in ds160 with the stolen passport number. Please what will I do now? Does it mean the visa fee payment won’t be valid again as the passport is stolen?😭😭😭😭

Please who knows between Lagos and Abuja, which of them has shorter appointment dates. Is Abuja more lenient? My mum’s visa was denied in Lagos this month, I am looking to apply to Abuja
