We don't need good speeches, intimidating credentials, well read and seasoned personalities. We need humane, principled and great doers of the people's wishes. We need accountable and development inclined personalities. We need personalities who will develop the society by planting trees which shed they know they will not sit under.
All these great and emotional speeches are useless to ordinary citizens.

U are right and wrong as well.....yes @the end of the day its positive action to achieve set goals that we need. However the guys that gave the speeches we are analysing are not in a position to change the status quo....we can only judge them based on their words,precedence and how they articulate the nigerian situation. Why else do u think jona was voted for massively in 2011 and now we all cant wait for him to go back to otuoke. Its cuz in 2011 we judged him (they-cuz i knew he had notin to offer just after he was sworn in as acting prez) to have smtin positive to give to nigerians,but after 5+ yrs,its same rubbish. Jonathan cannot therefore sell his empty words to us,we hv the power to decide who gets a 2nd chance and we refuse to be taken down that path again. So......lets hear the great words of aspiring leaders that we perceive have smtin to offer n give them an opport to lead us tru the right path.....if they don't,of cuz we have power to show them the door with our votes. Thats y 2terms of 4yrs each remains best for our democracy as against a single 6yr option which was being clamoured for.

yes, reset mode. We imbibed the wrong concept about democracy. Infact can u truely call what we do democracy? more like demo'crazy' if u ask me. We somehow got it wrong and it kept degenerating since 1999.

The sad situation i feel is that the HOR will become incapacitated till General Elections unless Tambuwal resigns. PDP will never let the house sit with tambuwal as speaker.

If tambuwal remains the speaker wld the heavens fall? If gej had not intruded into the buz of legisators wld d unfortunate scenes have played out? Yes-they are all criminals,but i wld pick an untested criminal over the criminal that has bin der for over 16yrs n hv given me no value.

To start with, no soldier was deployed, only policemen on the orders of the IG, the basis of your argument is flaw hence the whole write up is a wash.

Police don't plan coup and the IG has the right to act in any area he feels that security will be compromised, in a reasonable system, upon the receipt of such intel, the legislature works together with the police to contain the threat but if the legislature is the threat itself then the place has to be locked down pending a political solution to the situation.

Even the President of the US must simply follow orders of the secret service whenever there is a threat

For avoidance of doubt,there is no law that states that the speaker must come from d party in majority. It only follows that ordinarily,becus the election for that position follows a simple majority,one wld assume that the majority party wld vote for their person. That however doesnt mean that they must tow that line as a PDP member is free to vote an APC member as speaker. Dont forget that the PDP never wanted Tambuwal as speaker in the 1st place,however he beat their own candidate to become speaker. what it means is that even across party lines Tambuwal remains popular and accepted. Let the house decide the fate of their speaker....it is absolutely not in the place of the presidency or the IG to carry on as they have done. It smarks of irresponsibility. i expect the IG to be dismissed immediately and the president to render an apology to the NASS and to the people who the legislators represent.....if the president fails to do so,then i believe a motion for his impeachment is in order. We must protect this democracy our fathers fought and died for. Nigeria is bigger than any one man....including mr president.
