ImoRiver: You are wrong and commented out of ignorance. Over 200 houses for widows is not few coming as a pet project. No Government official has ever done that and we should commend her for such pet project.
Vanguard is an anti Okorocha media outfit

By Chidi Nkwopara, Owerri
AFTER years of mourning the loss of their life partners and toiling to make ends meet, many widows in Imo State presently have reason to smile as they count their blessings, thanks to the wife of the state Governor, Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha. Identifying shelter as an essential need of the widows, the Imo First Lady had since 2011 under the auspices of her “She Needs a Roof Project, SNARP”, built, furnished and handed over more than 172 units of two- bedroom bungalows for indigent widows and orphans, who do not have roofs over their heads. Some other SNARP buildings for these vulnerable persons, are still under construction in all the 27 local council areas of Imo State.
Apart from SNARP, Nneoma Okorocha also embarked on her “Nneoma Kitchen”, through which she reached out and touched lives via feeding, clothing the poor and visiting motherless babies and other charity homes across the state. Vanguard Metro, VM, gathered that the programme is designed to rekindle the spirit of being our brother’s keeper. Optimal potentials Mr 'not-ignorant', it is safe to assume there are only 200 indigent widows in Imo state. What about the indigent handicapped? or the indigent widowers. or the indigent orphans. I am supposing you have the real myopia...the result is bad leadership. There are a several other ways to ensure that ALL benefit from govt interventions....at least create the environment that accommodates such instead of 'candy sharing' to a few. |

I'm so glad people are beginning to wake up. You use money belonging to all to change the life of one, and some people are clapping? Its a seemingly good deed, but very very wrong if you look at the big picture. The function of govt is to ensure every citizen is catered for. Instead of sharing houses like candy to the lucky few who is a friend to 'powers that be', or a friend to the friend of 'powers that be', why not embark on schemes that ensure every citizen has an opportunity to own theirs. This media circus must be discouraged by everyone! |

honourhim: Is there any place that Jesus said we should pray to die early? And why didnt Jesus instruct his disciples to die when he died? u misunderstand the point. Nobody have asked u to pray for death. the issue here is that christians view death as a bad thing. They believe christians should never die early, that death(physical) is a result of sin. And one's death when he has a young family is an abomination. my point however is, if a christian claims to hold God's word in truth, he/she should be lest concerned about when or how death comes knocking. instead he/she should be more interested in how many lives he led to God with that eagerness to ultimately leave this world in order to b with God. Worldly things like what my children will eat and who will pay their school fees should be the last thing on a christian's mind. who feeds or clothes the birds in the air afterall ..... |

Recall his comment when his parents stated they had been looking for him when he was teachin the elders. The point is, if u do bliv in the words u claim to hold in high esteem u will care less abt those worldly worries. Ur target wil , heaven n going as soon as possible too. |

honourhim: We pray for long life because you have your children to train, you have other members of your family to train, you have other people to impact in their lives. You are contributing to the growth of the society. If i die will you train my children? How many fatherless children have you trained now to start with? Stop reasoning like a fool. But as a Christian, shouldn't u beliv God wil cater for them? |

So a foreigner (Niger republic) threatens to kill a Nigerian citizen yet the Nigerian is arrested instead ? Intrepid. Just the type of blatant rights Libyan herdsmen have over Nigerian farmers where even govt troops provide them with protection
For any idíot who would quote me stúpidly, the mans "offense" is too minor for this nonsense. It's even less than two fighting wahala and could have been sorted out at police station. No judge would be happy to handle this case when his/her docket is filled with more important urgent cases. The Nigerien should rather be arrested for threat to life as attested to by the police authorities themselves My brother, I jus taya for this country. U arrest someone just to "protect" him? The NPL is a borefest, and you can't force anyone to like it just because it's Nigerian. It is called false sense of patriotism! You should get it, since you don't have a thick skull! Fake it till u mean it. There are things you'd get to understand as you grow older and get to assume a leadership role. Those that understand have already. I rest. |

No proper arrangements....lack of maintenance....everything sucks!

Take a look at EPL for example...they have proper documentation, they arrange all fixtures many weeks before the beginning of a season, and they follow it accordingly.....perfect timing, proper arrangements, everything go just dey perfect.
Come to Nigeria, 4pm fit be 4:30 or 5pm due to traffic jam and other useless excuses. Abeg, we have a long way to go in this country, until then......Up Barca! Agreed! I wish I could post a pix of national stadium in the 80's. A local fixture n d stadium was filled to capacity. The truth is our football has declined...which is why our public servants or people that by virtue of their position n the followership dey enjoy shd be seen selling our own. The other day it was fashola cutting his manchester united designed birthday cake publicly-in his office!! Who will sell ours if not us? |

Patriotic thinking! Some of you just have a false sense of patriotism. Common sense u don't have. A public officer at that level should display some patriotism and promote his/her culture and values (or the country/institution he/she represents) to the outside world. If I work for pepsi and I drink cocacola in the confines of my home, no biggie. But u can't work for pepsi and be caught celebrating cocacola publicly-(I hv used a private institution to make it sink into ur thick skull better). For a country's rep to the outside world, she should be seen publicly celebrating her own! Geezzz....what do people learn in schools these days ? |

fiizznation: Coming to school naked can never be same as coming to school with at least a cloth covering your body. One is right while the other one is rightfully wrong. Even though everybody have every right to go around naked, but the society don't accept it, the ethics of moving around forbade it and morality frowns at it. Look my friend, immorality is not welcomed anywhere in the world; not in your churches neither in my mosques. This is exactly why this country is plagued with religious violence. Who gave u the authority to state what is moral or immoral. Do u know that there r religions that practice nudity? Do u also know that in some countries it is legal to be topless in public? Anyways the abv isn't the point. If u want to go to a public sch, u wear ur 'public' sch uniform. If u want to go to a 'religious sch' u wear whatever that religion chooses as its uniform. Keyword PUBLIC. You don't display ur own religious madness in public space..and if u choose to do so, then u shd accomodate those whose religion permits them to be naked. Simple! |

@ladyG. We applied for a visit visa (my wife and I) n our interview comes up in abt a week. However I need some clarification. My wife has a sister residing there legally, and we indicated such on the application, though we do not intend going to see her as we have booked a hotel in another state. Would that be an issue? Secondly in situations where one has a sibling there, can one still apply for a non-immigrant visa? Cuz I tot I read somewhere on this thread that someone had her non-immigrant visa request turned down cuz she applied for that instead of an immigrant visa (something like that). 3. Must one always have to go tru the stated poe each time one visits the US thru out the validity of the visa given - cuz there seem to be much emphasis on the poe. |
