You really don't need drug to enhance your reading.
Read as Much as You can in every 'instance' you have to study' but do it frequently to catch up with loss time.
And remember to eat adequately cos mental stress consume a lot of energy

I take a lot of supplements, from Rose Hips Vit C, primrose oil, biotin & even vitamin A.. Hope there's no effect?

My Dear Recent Studies shows that people that consume lots of Supplements are Predispose to Cancer.
Make sure your Dr. prescribe the right Supplements for You.
My advice is that you Eat a Balance Diet with lots of Fruits and Veges with little supplement

You can also use your waist circumference to define Obesity: normal waist circumference for Men should be <102 cm (Though some centers put their reference range at 100 cm).

I advice you combine your BMI, WHR, WC and your Lipid indices in defining your Risk for Obesity. Also take note of Your Built

It's very possible that you're within normal range
As i said earlier one of the Demerits of BMI is that it cannot be use to define obesity in people with heavy muscle mass like Body Builders, thus other parameter is needed to interpret their weight

Waist-Hip ratio, WHR is the Ratio of the circumference of the waist and Hip
Usually should be <0.85 in Men. > 0.95 signifies an increase risk for cardiovascular complication.
Ratio of >0.95 is usually seen in Abdominal Obesity which is very commonly associated with the Cardiovascular risk mentioned above

I'd like the doctors on this forum to explain somethings to me. I noticed my weight had increased from the usual 90kg (what I weighed in about 8-10 years) to 95Kg within some months. This made me calculate my BMI and the result was 26.2 which indicated that i was/am overweight. Now for a slim guy, I find it quite fascinating that I'd be classified as overweight.

Although I reduced my food intake and started some indoor exercises which saw my weight drop to 92.5kg (still overweight), I really need to understand why I am classified overweight just like some other fat person may be classified. Also what is the health implication of being overweight?

BMI alone is not the only parameter use for measuring Obesity
One of its disadvantage is that it can interpret people with heavy muscle mass as Obese.
other Parameter you can use include: Abdominal circumference, waist hip ratio or your Lipid indices.

Hi Dr.
Saw the Post and decided to give My quota.
Some Hospital Really do not give out result of HIV status to patient for some reasons based on experience except if the patient request specially or state the purpose for which the result is been requested.
In practice I have seen a patient that had HIV test done 4 years ago and still rely on the outcome of the test in present day.
Some patient even laminate the result and use it as their CV (if you get what I mean).
HIV status Change every Day Thus Some Dr are careful not to release the result to Patient.

However in most cases it's usually the predominant attitude of most Dr here to hide info from their patient.

PELVIC USS
The uters is normal in size. It measures 4.2cm in its widest Ap diameter. It shows hypoechoric myometrium with intact endometrial plates. Both adnexae and POD are intact.
IMPRESSION:- ? PID

Swab test

Wet preparation (HVS)
Pus cells- moderate
Epithelial cells- numerous
Yeast cells- few
Others- nil

Wet preparation (ECS)
Pus cells- moderate
Epithelial cells- many
Yeast cells- few
Others- nil

1 raised to the power of zero or 1 degree. Gram (HVS)
I couldn't really read what was written but epithelial cells was many while pus cells, yeast cells, gram negative, gram positive had something like h in a circle or + or p. I don't really understand the handwriting while others is nil.

The same result for the 1 raised to the power of zero (ECS)

HVS/ECS culture
Yielded no growth after 48 hours of incubation.

Do the results mean I have PID? If yes, please what's the cure. I also have to do prolactin, progesterone and estradiol on cd21.

it's really not advisable to use just laboratory investigation in arriving at a Diagnosis
The result you presented are near normal in My Opinion
The Ultra Sound finding is Normal wonder why the '?' (Queried) PID: maybe the clinical history you gave must have prompted that preliminary diagnosis.
features of PID on Ultra Sound include: fluid in the Pouch of Douglas (POD) or pelvis, thickened or dilated fallopian tube, adnexal mass, thickened endometrium e.t.c

The High Vaginal Swab MCS (HVS MCS) also look normal as few Epithelial Cells and Yeast Cell can be seen in normal Test.

I advice You give a clinical description of your symptoms and if possible get a pelvic examination to help arrive at a definitive diagnosis

The newly elected Government of President Mohammadu Buhari has been called upon to investigate the alleged war crime said to have been committed by past and serving Generals in the Nigerian Army.
The Global human rights organization, Amnesty International called for the immediate investigation of top past and present military commanders for possible war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the Nigeria military in its fight against Islamist extremist insurgents, Boko Haram.
Online video evidence and report has shown that some of this allegation might not be far from the truth.
Nigerians and the Army have mixed reaction regarding this development. The Army has condemned it and labeled it as an act aimed at demoralizing and blacklisting the Nigeria Army.
However looking at the available evidence, one cannot deny the fact that there might be numerous incidences of war crimes committed since the war against Boko Haram began.
Nigerian have been advised to look critically at the evidence available before jumping into a prejudiced conclusion. Unless you are a Victim, you won’t understand the Gravity of this crime by the Military.
This is obviously the first international test on the Buhari Administration and shouldn’t be treated lightly else the world will laugh at our Democracy.

The owner of the truck might still be experiencing the mental trauma of losing his source of livelihood to an unforeseen circumstances. So one might excuse him from the blame. Kindly help call on the attention of FRSC officials stationed in Kubwa/Dutse FCT, Abuja.
I was travelling to Kaduna four days ago (Monday, 1/6/2015) and noticed a burnt truck on the roundabout before Dutse-Sokale on the way to Bwari. Surprisingly on My way back from Kaduna yesterday evening, I noticed that the truck is still there despite the fact that FRSC office is located less than 2Km from the site of the burnt truck.
The accident said to have occurred on the morning of Saturday 30/05/2015. The location of the Burnt truck is a recipe for further accident owing to the fact that the roundabout is usually very busy and also the Churches Located within that vicinity always block one of the lanes during their numerous evening services causing traffic jam around that location especially from Motor Bikes. Wonder why Nigeria authorities are blind to potential source of hazard in our society.
Kindly use this forum to expose this lackadaisical attitude of the Federal Road ‘SAFETY’ Commission. Lets remind them that safety also entails removing potential source of Hazard on our Roads.
