As una dey heap plaudits on top Messi so... remember that there are 10 other players who work their socks off to pass to him. We better not hear any "pass-to-messi FC" complaints or EV thrash talk when they pass to him and he fails to deliver. Y'all cannot eat your cake and have it again o! |

Eruditor: That Betis played Barca on the counter at Nou Camp? What else were they going to play? Ol' boy you are smarter than this. Betis BEAT Barca at the Nou Camp. So you have to be 'sensible' with such a team... and if the 'sensible' approach means allowing them DOMINATE the midfield, while you hit them on the counter, I don't see why this is supposed to be a problem! |

Eruditor: We are better than Betis and have the best player in the world but it does not mean it is comfortable to be dominated by Betis this way. Last season, after beating Roma 4-1 that was our consolation: that at least we won. Only to lose the return leg 3-0 by playing the same way. First of, your team is not gonna dominate games 100% of the time. Second, revisit and review the reverse of this fixture and perhaps you will understand why being a little cautious is not a bad idea. https://www.fcbarcelona.com/en/news/910415/fc-barcelona-3-4-betis-first-home-defeat# |

forever08: we don't have a complete dominance of the midfield with 4 4 2. And someone is telling to Go and rest. Ask Real Betis if they prefer to be 2 goals up or have complete dominance of the midfield... |

Eruditor: I am not even arguing the decisions. Aguero was offside it is that simple. But this is not a game where City are absolutely atrocious and use an offside goal to steal a win. From start to finish they were better and on another day should win this game 9-2. For someone to just ignore how well they played to conclude that the ref helped them is the kind of insufferable populist arguments people make on here. I agree with you. On the balance of play, City were far better than Swansea and thoroughly deserved to win... it is sad that the 'faulty' decisions and moments of the game will take the shine out of the effort the lads put in. |

City also had some 'unfair' moments. Pk calls that were ignored and questionable offside against them. The clearest pk incident I recall was a handball from a D. Silva shot late in the game. The offside count was about 10 for City. 3 or 4 were too close to being wrong decisions. On the balance, both sides had fairly equal dose of luck and 'help' from the officials.

VAR is on experiment this season. So it is used in some selected games, not all. |

odizeey: Nawa o. I saw the pk and na rubbish BikeMan: You can't defend for 45mins against City but then they were unlucky with the penalty and offside goal Its hard to tell if Swansea were lucky or unlucky because there some incredible moments in that game when it seemed like the ball did not just want to go into the net for City. City had pk calls that were ignored and questionable offside calls against them. The clearest pk incident was a handball from a goal bound D. Silva shot late in the game. The offside count was about 10 for City. 3 or 4 were too close to being wrong calls by the officials. Law of average suggests that some point the officials will let 1 or 2 slide or outrightly miss 'em. This is what happened in the end. Finally sha, I feel both sides had fairly equal dose of luck and fighting spirit but quality, experience and lack of was the final determinant! |

I think this is a good fixture for Barca. The key is to keep cool and deny United possession of the ball for the longest stretches possible. They are not the best bus-parking side so the openings will be there. Also, there is still a level of naivete about OGS that may not work to his team advantage. |

AmoryBlacq: Where was the referee in all this? If the manager wanted a player out and the player declines it is first the the responsibility of the ref to enforce authority! did the fourth official lift his board?
First I blame the Ref, next I blame Sarri for allowing himself be a victim of mob psychology! It is not the refs responsibility to enforce a substitution. He can issue yellow cards if he feels the player is disturbing the game or (and) for unsporting behavior. |
