The media team of US president-elect Donald Trump’s team has reportedly removed the statement on his website to deport Nigerians from the country if he becomes president. This comes even as his team also deleted the statement on his website to ban Muslims from entering the US. It was gathered that the page now redirects to another page encouraging voters to donate to his campaign, New Telegraph reports. Trump and his allies had consistently defended the ban, insisting the measure was about Americans’ “safety” and not about discriminating against religion. The said post was made on December 7, 2015 on his website. Recall there were reports earlier this year that Trump had sent a subtle warning to the Nigerian Community in the US, after he said all Nigerians would be made to leave the country if he becomes President. He reportedly made the ‘threat’ during a rally at Wichita, Kansas, saying Nigerians and Mexicans have taken all the jobs meant for honest hard working Americans. He was quoted to have said: “We need to get the Africans out. Not the blacks, the Africans. Especially the Nigerians. They’re everywhere. “I went for a rally in Alaska and met just one African in the entire state. Where was he from? Nigeria! He’s in Alaska taking our jobs. They’re in Houston taking our jobs. Why can’t they stay in their own country? Why? I’ll tell you why. Because they are corrupt. “Their governments are so corrupt, they rob the people blind and bring it all here to spend. And their people run away and come down here and take our jobs! We can’t have that! If I become president, we’ll send them all home. We’ll build a wall at the Atlantic Shore. Yes! I'm tired of your religion. Dont preach your religion to me anymore. What has your religion been able to do for me? What help has your religion rendered to me? Whenever i come to your place of worship, you talk and talk and talk, at the end you take the little money i have to build schools that my children can never attend because of the high fees u place on it. You take my money and buy expensive suits while i cant afford a bend down select coat. You take my money and buy private jets while i cant even afford okada fare. What about your own religion? Yes you? What help has it rendered to me? You claim your religion is a religion of peace, yet some blood sucking extremist kill and maim in the name of your religion. Yes yes i know you distance yourself from such act, but how do i understand it when they bomb many places shouting in the language of your religion. So u think your religion is the best abi? Your religion that accommodates killing of humans in the name of attonement rituals and societal cleansing. You sometimes label some people as witches and wizards, and they are either stoned to death or they are sent to the forest to die a miserable death. I cant stand your religion anymore, dont preach your religion to me. You keep taking money from me all in the name of seed of blessing, tithe, zakath, divination fee, sacrificial goat and so on, yet you never deem it fit to give back anything to me. You never showed concern about my joblessness since you and your family are living large. You never cared about my hungry childre since yours are growing fat. Dont preach your religion to me anymore. If want to preach, preach peace, love and unity to the troubled mind. Preach job creation and empowerment to the unemployed and underemployed. Preach food to the hunger stricken and the helpless. Preach cloth and shelter to the needy, homeless and the vagabonds. Preach justice to the oppressed and the agitated. What has your religion given back to the society it always take from?.. Dont just preach religion to me, i also demand certain things from the religous circle. Give and preach..........i'm sorry if not well arranged, i'm not a literature writer just puring out my mind |

Minister of Power, Works
and Housing, Mr
Babatunde Fashola,
yesterday, appealed to
road contractors to return
to sites and commence work without further
delay, following approval
of the 2016 budget. Fashola, at a meeting with
over 20 construction
firms, including Julius
Berger Nigeria Plc, Arab
Contractors, Dantata and
Sawoe, Reynolds Construction, Stabilini,
RCC, Gitto Construzioni and
Setraco, among others, in
Abuja, yesterday, assured
the contractors that his
ministry would soon begin to offset some of
the debt owed them for
projects executed across
the country. The minister
noted that his ministry
would ensure the contractors got paid with
the funds allocated to
them in the 2016 budget
soon Fashola said:
“When the debts are
paid, workers who were laid off by the
construction companies
would be recalled to work
as soon as possible.
“Very soon, in a matter
of days, hopefully we will get some funding to
disburse to you. What we
hope to achieve is to hear
from you what the
problems are.” The
minister explained that in disbursing the funds to
the contractors,
government had also
extracted from them the
commitment to go back to
their respective sites, using the thousands of
recalled workers to
