The past and present government did well to make Asaba a priority. Another flowed reasoning! What is aboriginal ibos? Same ibo that was created by Ajayi Crowther or the British? The natives of Delta state have a documented history lasting hundreds of years whereas the ibos is just a recent creation |

Goodlady: Whether na true their narration or ya owns narration, skylord na skylord. Stop sugarcoating cos there's no difference. You painted myth of some people to be false and yours has similar falsehood. It will end back coming to mockery for ya own people too. In fact, no let people drag you like tiger generator as you try to sugarcoat ya people's own as if Una dey special. You all are descendants of ham. Let me give you an example. The title of Olu of Warri is called Ogiame. This literally means Lord of the waters. Ogiame and Ogiso are both Edoid words having the prefix "Ogie" meaning Lord. The other words "iso" and "Ame" means Sky and water respectively. These words Ogiso and Ogiame do not mean descendant from sky or water. As the Itsekiri people do not see their king as descending from water despite being called Ogiame. I hope you get it |

seunmsg: So, your Ogisos came from where? Ogisos are humans. They are born. But the Benin culture has it that a king is not choosen on earth. That to become a king on earth, you are already choosen in heaven. That's why kingship is by inheritance in Benin |
Politics › Re: Why Did Oranmiyan Leave?: Wike's Aide Reacts To Rift Between Ooni And Alaafin by saddler: 7:55pm On Aug 24, 2025 |
chopnaira: Same same.. The mythology of Ife says oduduwa descended from the sky. The mythology of benin says the ogiso descended from the sky. Not same. Kings of heaven/sky is just a title. There is no narration of the kings descending from the sky. I repeat no Benin myths/folklore has any story of Ogisos descending from the sky. But the Yorubas have Oduduwa descending from the sky with chains. |
Politics › Re: Why Did Oranmiyan Leave?: Wike's Aide Reacts To Rift Between Ooni And Alaafin by saddler: 7:29pm On Aug 24, 2025 |
Goodlady: The story of those people doesn't go the way you're narrating it. But no be ya fault. Na dem dey wash their linen outside. Their tribe is an envy to others in Nigeria. Now to set ya records straight. Izoduwa isn't Oduduwa. Oduduwa is from Oke-Ora. Ugbo people of present day Ondo State confirmed this in their sources when recounting the clash with Obatala. One of ya Benin historians confirmed ya lost prince died while wandering. Now to the issue of falling from sky. Oduduwa lived in the mountain terrain of Ife which is Oke-Ora (Ora Hill), Google it. That's why some said he fell from the sky. The Arabian or Egyptian tale is just a buttress to origin of blacks from Mesopotamia (Ham's father who's Noah) and migration of his descendants to Egypt, Nubia, Meroe, Waddai, Ethiopia etc which are the first black settlements. Ya Bini too possibly came from their or where will you say present day Edo Binis came from? Again about the sky issue, where did Ogisos came from? Aren't they too skylords? 😆Why you go package ya own myths and desecrate other people's own? No be juju be that? Where's the earliest source of Ogisos and who birthed the first one? Who birthed the person that birthed that first one? Are Ogisos older than Adam? Think! The earlier you understand history of people have their myths and some shrouded beginnings that you just have to respect, the better for you so that you won't be dragged like a better pass my neighbor generator. Am Isoko & Fula by tribe and respect other tribes. There is a difference between calling your kings sky gods and actually narrating how they fell from the sky. You can never get a narration of kings in Benin coming/falling from the sky. |

But the Fulani man is right naa...do igbos really have history? It was Ajayi Crowther that gathered them from the bush and wrote ibo language for them. As at early 1900, they were still naked and the British were embarrassed by their nonchalant behavior towards covering their unclothedness.
Before the British left, they dropped their head warmers because they didn't need it in our hot weather.
Guess what? Igbos picked it and turned it into their traditional headwear. |

Racheal45: Please this is wrong Ogiso has no business with oduduwa
Oba was known to be connected to oduduwa not ogiso Oba is from Ile-ife They migrated same time with the awori Say what you know. And learn what you dont know. The earliest writers of Yoruba history i.e Samuel Johnson wrote emphatically that Oduduwa was a foreigner to Yoruba land that he came from Egypt or Middle East. But now we know Oduduwa came from Igodomigodo. This is the reason Oranmiyan was invited to come and rule Benin because he is a descendant of Oduduwa. |
Politics › Re: Grok Says There's No Evidence That Someone Called Oduduwa Ever Existed by saddler: 4:27pm On Aug 09, 2025 |
Oduduwa's origin has been found. He came from Igodomigodo in present day Edo state. As at the time of Igodomigodo, Present'-day Edo was ruled by rulers who were called Ogiso which literally means king of the sky.
So when Oduduwa got to ife, they asked him who he was and he told them he is a descendant of king of the sky.
That's how Yoruba mythology of Oduduwa descending from the sky started. |
