Phones / Google Maps Is Testing A Redesigned Full Bottom Bar Navigation by safas20(f): 2:53pm On Dec 16, 2019
Google Maps is testing a redesigned full bottom bar navigation
One of the well-documented side-effects of Android 10’s full gesture navigation is a conflict with navigation drawers. The back gesture makes it difficult to open the drawer by swiping from the left side of the display. You basically have to retrain yourself to tap the hamburger icon or use the awkward press and pause gesture. Moving the navigation elements out of the drawer makes sense with gestures, and now Google Maps is testing just that.

We’ve seen Google test bottom navigation bars in several apps already. The Google Maps implementation is pretty much the same thing. All of the items from the drawer have been moved to either the bottom bar or the profile menu. Google Maps currently has Explore, Commute, and For you in the bottom bar. The redesigned UI adds “Places, Post,” and renamed For you to “Latest.” Features such as Incognito mode, Your timeline, location sharing, etc have been moved to the menu that can be accessed by tapping your profile icon in the search bar.

The expanded bottom bar seems like a good move, especially if you use gesture navigation. I’m not sold on moving stuff to the profile menu as it’s not blatantly obvious to users that they can tap their photo to see more stuff. Keep in mind that this is just in testing right now so we may never see it roll out widely. It does, however, seem that Google is moving in this direction. Do you like this new look for Google Maps and other apps?

TRANSFER CONTACTS USING THE GOOGLE ACCOUNT IN INFINIX HOT 5

Once, the operation of transferring your contacts saved on a device to SIM card was hard, tiring and time-consuming. Now, it can be much easier by using your Google Account.
The Google Account allows us to transfer the contacts from Android to Android, from Android to iOS, from Windows to Symbian and reverse.

FROM ANDROID TO ANDROID

#FIRST METHOD:
Go to Settings on your device, choose Accounts and find Google Account. If you still have not added one, now is the good time to do that.
Then click on your account and and tick the option " Contacts". It should now be synchronized with the Google server. You should repeat the same actions on the other device - that way the old phone will send your contacts and the new one will receive them.

#SECOND METHOD:
Go to Contacts and choose " Move device contacts to". You should be able to see two options - a Google Account and your device account (e.g. Samsung Account). Choose Google Account and your contacts will be merged with it.

FROM ANDROID TO IPHONE
You should follow the steps mention in the previous methods. Additionally, when your on the iOS device, you need to go to Settings , then choose " Mail, contacts and others " and choose (add if not added already) the Google Account . Then in the Google Account's settings choose option " Contacts". Include any other methods you are certain about in the comment box. #Thanks

Abuja folks got to meet, interact with other Infinix users and staffs in the S4 Xclub Hangout in Abuja city. It was all shades of fun for us in the Capital city with an earlier graffiti in the University of Abuja and a tour round the city experiencing the new S4 device.

It was fun with , games, Comedy, music and a trip to the zoo and Amusement park while we enjoyed the new Infinix S4 devices.

I must say the S4 is an impressive device with a super cool 32MP camera selfie picture, and did went smoothly without any lags on the 3GB variant which i experienced, i must say i was tempted to keep one for myself grin grin

I hope to get one soon after having a first hand experience, brand should do more to interact with her fans as it doesnt end after buying their phones.

Here are highlights for your viewing pleasure

Phones / Why Does My Phone Randomly Restart? by safas20(f): 1:29pm On Apr 16, 2019
Cause #1 – Bad Apps

In most cases, random restarts are caused by a poor quality app. Try uninstalling apps you don’t use. Be sure the apps you do use are reliable, especially the apps that handle email or text messaging. My wife recently discovered her Galaxy S5 would restart sometimes when receiving a text message. Switching from the Verizon Messaging app to Hangouts for text messaging fixed that issue.

You may also have an app running in the background that is causing the Android to randomly restart. When a background app is the suspected cause, try the following, preferably in the order listed:

Uninstall apps you don’t necessarily need. This goes especially for any apps that control sound, ringtones, wallpaper, have fancy widgets, or use GPS.
Ensure all apps are on the latest version. Upgrade everything you have from the Play Store by going to “Menu” > “Settings” > “My Apps“.
Uninstall apps that run in the background. From a fresh restart, go to “Settings” > “More…” > “Applications” > “Running“. If you see anything listed you can live without, uninstall it. If you cannot uninstall it, freeze the app if possible.
Cause #2 – System Apps Are Disabled

Did you play around with disabling Android apps? If you went too far and disabled apps that are required to run the Android OS, it may be causing your restarting issue. Have a look under “Settings” > “Applications” and swipe over to the list of apps that are “Turned Off” or “Disabled” and enable any apps that may be needed for your device to function properly.

Cause #3 – Overheating

Many Android devices are designed to shut off automatically if they become too hot. If you have your device out on a 100 degree day while trying to use 4G, GPS, and the screen is set to the brightest setting, it might restart itself or shut down. Try to take it easy and maybe disable features you don’t need.

Overheating shutdowns shouldn’t be a regular problem though. If your device is overheating regularly, contact the retailer or manufacturer about it.

Cause #4 – Loose Battery

Of course, this problem only occurs on devices with a removable battery. My Droid 1 and Samsung Galaxy S4 were notorious for suddenly restarting. Sometimes they would shut off and never turn back on. It turned out that in both cases, the battery was coming a bit loose. Just a slight jab at the device would quickly unseat, then re-seat the battery, causing it to reset.

The most common reason for this is the rear cover has become slightly bent and is no longer holding the battery into place. Another reason is the gold battery connectors are bent out of shape. Over time, the connectors may get worn down.

There are two ways to tackle a problem with a loose battery:

Purchase some mounting tape, then affix a small piece to an area of the rear cover so that it holds the battery into place better.

Turn the device off, remove the rear case and unseat the battery. Locate the battery connector pins. If possible, use a small screw driver to pry the connectors into a position where they will make better contact with the battery.
Cause #5 – Corrupted System Software

Sometimes the Android system software gets corrupted. If you are using a custom Android ROM, try a different version of the ROM or another type of ROM altogether. If you’re not using a custom ROM, your only option may be to try a factory reset of the device. Beware though, a factory reset will erase data from your device. On most Android devices, you can perform a factory reset by going to “Settings” > “Backup & reset” > “Reset device“.

Cause #6 – Stuck Button

Sometimes the “Power” button can get some water or gunk stuck in it. Be sure that nothing is jammed in the button opening. Also check to make sure your case is not putting pressure on the button at all.

Cause #7 – Defective Hardware

If everything above has been tried and your Android is still randomly restarting itself, you may just have a bad device. Contact the retailer or manufacturer about the problem. You may not have that option if you have a custom Android ROM installed. In that case, you may want to take your question to the maker of your particular ROM.

Phones / Is The Note 5 Still Worth It - 5 Months User Experience by safas20(f): 9:55am On Apr 16, 2019
Some months back, the Note 5 and Note 5 Stylus were the most talked about phone from infinix. Now there's the S4, Hot 7, and the just unveiled Zero 6; but with all this, is the Note 5 still worth talking about?

From a users perspective and careful study of the other beautiful devices from Infinix, the Note 5 still stands it's ground. My love for mobile technology including the laptops sometimes gets me scared. This is why I can watch a review of one single phone from as many reviewers or blogs as possible.
In some cases I'll go find and hold the phone just to get that feel, yeah I know crazy.

The Note 5 is great in so many ways, the first and sometimes misunderstood way is the Android One.
So many people do not understand what Android One is. If you're in that category, the best way I can explain Android one to you is the best part of Android you can get.

Android One is having Android the way Google wants and made it, which means faster performance, getting updates, better optimization, etc. Having this on a phone as the Note 5 makes it super beautiful cause first off, you're certain to stay up to date with the latest version of android which usually comes with fun bits at least for 2 years.

The Note 5 also packs some decent and in some applications great specs. Featuring a native Octa core processor with up to 1080p native video processing. It also features a 1080p display which makes viewing contents more crisp and beautiful.

It gives you a large battery even on a more optimized Android Os, meaning even longer battery life than if it wasn't on Android One.
Great cameras and beautiful build, now all for a take away price.

Some people might still not see what they gain, but with the Note 5, you really don't need to upgrade your phone for the next 2 years, and you'd still be able to compare your phone to phones release within same price range in that year.

There's a lot that can be said about the Note 5, but to round up, if not for anything, the Android One experience which promises updates and a smoother performance, dope camera, 1080p display and price is more than enough reason to get this beautiful device.

So yeah, the Note 5 is worth it even now. Is it a perfect phone, na, there's no such thing, but it's still a great phone for its price even now.

Phones / Why You Shouldn't Let Your Phone Battery Drain To 0% by safas20(f): 11:48am On Jan 21, 2019
Lithium-ion batteries, like the kind used in Infinix, apple and other smartphones fare better when they’re charged. If you constantly let them drain to 0%, they become unstable.

Your battery has a finite number of charge cycles, and every time it fully dies, that’s another used up cycle.

How it works: Let’s say your battery has 500 charge cycles. Each time you let your battery drain to 0%, that means 1 out of 500 charge cycles has been lost. Remaining 499.

Also, constantly charging your phone’s battery from a low 25% charge to 100% will reduce its capacity and shorten its lifespan.

P.S: It is advisable that you do not let your battery go below 25% before charging it up.

Phones / How To Hack Cellphone And Whatsapp by safas20(f): 9:25am On Dec 18, 2018
First you will need to have; Access to the victim's smartphone or cell phone, wifi, the victim has to have Wi-Fi, you have to know a bit of social engineering (Some Lies, Sorry to be able to get the phone or make the victim do what you ask for) Basically that's it, now let's go through steps like you're going to do.

Step 1
G to the victim's cells phone and install the application "AirDroid: File & Notifications" to do this you can use social engineering. If she is using her wifi you change the password of the wifi and asks the mobile of the victim to put the new password of the wifi ai seizes and installs the application.

Step 2
After you have placed the app it will ask for an email and password, then you will go to the site http://web dot airdroid dot com/ and you will enter the same email and password that you put in the app.

Step 3
Ready,
the cell phone is already hacked, you can already see camera in real time, contacts, messages ...

Step 4

Now let's hack the Whatsapp of the victim. For this you will put in your mobile the application "arallel Space", I believe that you can use bluestacks or virtualbox with android instead of your cell phone.

Step 5

Now;
you will add Whatsapp and it will open it normal (In the Parallel Space application), it will open normally and you will create a new Whatsapp only with the number of the victim.

Step 6

So far so good, after creating Whatsapp it will send that code to the phone, remembering that you already have the cell phone hacked and you can see the messages of the victim on that site that I quoted in the second step..

Step 7

Now you go to the site that I quoted in the second step and get the verification code and put it in Whatsapp that you just created, you will have to do it very fast and when you finish you delete the message that has the code check and READY...
