THE Itsekiri ethnic nationality of Warri, Delta State, has dissociated itself from the calls for creation of a Biafra Republic out of Nigeria as being drummed by some Igbo interest groups in the South-East. The Itsekiri Leaders of Thought, ILT, expressed the group’s concern over the Igbo agitation yesterday in a statement by its Chairman, Pa Johnson Ayomike and Secretary, Edward Ekpoko. The statement stressed: “We recall with pains the day the defunct Biafran Army invaded Warri and Benin in the then Midwest Region on August 9, 1967. Never again will the Itsekiri tolerate such invasion. The Itsekiri nation is committed to the unity of Nigeria and will do all it can to promote and protect it as one indivisible country. As Major General Philip Effiong said on January 14 1970, the Republic of Biafra ceased to exist. We, the Itsekiri, wish it to be eternally so for the peace and development of our great nation http://plusmouth..com.ng/2015/10/the-itsekiri-has-dissociated-itself-on.html

The Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, has lashed out at former President Olusegun Obasanjo, describing him as an overgrown child of circumstance. Soyinka criticised Obasanjo in his (Nobel laureate’s) new book, titled InterInventions: Between Defective Memory and the Public Lie – A Personal Odyssey in the Republic of Liars, presented in Abeokuta, Ogun State on Saturday. Although Soyinka conceded that he used to be friendly with Obasanjo and admitted in the book that some stakeholders were making efforts to reconcile them, he said he owed it a responsibility to fundamentally respond to lies that Obasanjo allegedly told against him in his latest biography, titled, My Watch, described in InterInventions as Three-Carat Watch. Soyinka, who in the book also critically takes on the likes of former Osun State Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola; and veteran critic, Prof. Chinweizu, wrote, quoting a Yoruba proverb, “The child that swears his mother will not sleep must also prepare for a prolonged, sleepless infancy. So, let it be with Okikiola, the overgrown child of circumstance. http://plusmouth..com.ng/2015/10/obasanjo-is-overgrown-child-of.html ”I brainstormed with him over meals both when he was military Head of State – in Dodan Barracks and in his home, Ota – for some time after he left office and early in Aso Rock at his ‘second coming.’ Today, it is a different situation. If he offered to host me, I would wait until he had first swallowed a morsel from the same dish. “I had fully attuned myself to the fact that our Owu retiree soldier and prolific author is an infliction that those of us who share the same era and nation space must learn to endure. However, it does appear to me that there is no end to this individual’s capacity for infantile mischief, and for needless, mind-boggling provocations, such as his recent ‘literary’ intrusion on my peace. He added that part of the intervention the elders made was a ‘cordial’ conversation he had with Obasanjo recently. According to the Nobel laureate, he, during the conversation, commended Obasanjo for the creative way he had developed the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, which Soyinka, however, described as a Presidential Laundromat and a product of executive extortion |

The Acting Nigerian High Commissioner in London, Olukunle Bamgbose, gave the indication in his office when he spoke with State House Correspondents covering Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s visit to London, reports PREMIUM TIMES. He said the migration policy came about following the migration crisis created by the troubled regions in the world. “I think about 29,000 Nigerians have been designated to be deported. “We are insisting that due process must be followed before Nigerians are really removed from the UK to Nigeria,’’ he said. Mr. Bamgbose gave four conditions that should be met by the UK immigration office before the commission could accept the migration and deportation agenda. “First, we must ensure that they are really Nigerians; they are medically fit to travel; all the legal processes must have been completed and that they have role to play in Nigeria. “You do not expect someone who has not been to Nigeria for 30 years to 40 years, and does not have any family and you want to deport him. “He will constitute social problems to us in Nigeria; so these are the sore points at this moment that we have,’’ the envoy said. http://plusmouth..com.ng/2015/10/uk-government-has-placed-deportation.html

Issues relating to the complex have been at the centre of fresh violence between Israelis and Palestinians. According to BBC news disclose that Mr Kerry was speaking after talks in Jordan, the formal custodian of what is known to Jews as the Temple Mount and as Haram al-Sharif to Muslims. He said Israel had renewed a pledge to maintain existing rules there. In the latest upsurge of violence, at least eight Israelis have been killed and dozens wounded in knife or gun attacks by Palestinians, following rumours that Israel was planning to change the rules - something Israel denies. About 50 Palestinians, including several of the attackers, have been killed in recent weeks. Mr Kerry, who is on a tour of the region, met Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas and King Abdullah of Jordan in Amman on Saturday. "All the violence and the incitement to violence must stop. Leaders must lead,'' Mr Kerry told reporters. The steps he announced include round-the-clock video monitoring and Israel's agreement to reaffirm Jordan's historic role as custodian of the religious complex. "There are serious additional issues, security and otherwise, between Israelis and Palestinians that must be addressed but we've agreed that this is a first step to creating some space in order to allow us to resume those steps and that dialogue," he said. http://plusmouth..com.ng/2015/10/israel-and-jordan-have-agreed-to.html |

Poultry farming – This is big business, and you can begin with around 100 birds, and build it into a large-scale enterprise within a short period of time. You can make money from selling chicken eggs, or chickens for meat.
