Father Mbaka said this during his New Year sermon in his church yesterday. “Nigeria, as we speak now, economically, security wise is in the intensive care unit; if the oxygen is removed, Nigeria will die, people of God prayed, from here and there and God gave us Buhari. God has told us that Buhari is prayer answered; President Buhari is an answered prayer; whether you hate him or like him, Buhari is prayer answered; The Bishops of Nigeria, the Catholic Bishops prayed against bribery and corruption and this President came with a charter that has to do with war against corruption; all the prayers we have been doing about bribery and corruption, God answered it in Buhari who decided not to discriminate; there is nothing like religious or political discrimination in Buhari’s government. He needs all the support, unstoppable support; spiritual and otherwise; because if he is not the man in power now, had it been the last regime continued, by now, Nigeria would be for sale. I am not a sycophant; but I want to tell you that so far God is happy and he who God has blessed none can curse. Many people are planning to kill Buhari; there are many plans on how to eliminate his life so that corruption will continue; so that embezzlement will continue"he said Mbaka called on Nigerians to wait on God "No matter how malignant the problem is, God says He will be in charge; fellow Nigerians, let us wait upon God; I have a new message; I’m blessing and covering the message we are giving now in the prophetic name of Jesus; Father speak now as your servant listens. In 2013, there was a prophecy that there was going to be an oil doom after several years of oil boom, and when that message came out of this ground, many started calling me a prophet of doom. How can there be oil doom in oil boom? And the oil price continued to climb, but the message said people should start to gather as in the days of Joseph, that the people in government should continue to gather, let them stop squandering our wealth; but they never listened; throughout the six years we passed in the past administration, God blessed our oil with high prices, Over N140 per barrel, but the message kept coming, don’t mind the oil boom, there is going to be oil doom, our politicians stop embezzling our wealth but they said the money will continue to come, our oil will continue to flow.”he said http://plusmouth..com.ng/2016/01/there-are-plans-to-kill-buhari-due.html |

The Civil Society Organizations, Lawyers, Lawmakers, NJC, Benchers, etc Call on President Buhari to Resign From Office for His Disobedience to Court Orders On May 29th 2015, a former Military Dictator, Muhammadu Buhari sequel to a contested election in March 2015 against a sitting President in Nigeria, the first time in Africa, an incumbent handed power peaceably, smoothly, heroically to a political rival. Whereupon Mr Buhari then took the Oath of Allegiance to protect the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 and the President’s Oath of office to discharge his duties faithfully, in accordance with the Constitution and the Laws of Nigeria. Within President Buhari’s first year in office, too soon after he took the revered Oaths, he and state agents acting under his supervision, now demonstrate total lack of respect for Court Orders and at his maiden media chat on Wednesday 30th Dec., Instant, Mr President made puerile attempts to justify these breaches, he said inter alia that some persons his regime locked up in cells dehumanized against court orders, Nnamdi Kanu had travelled without his passports. But under the Immigration Act, the President or the Minister may deport anyone who travels without a valid travel document or detain for a period not exceeding 7 days. In holding Mr Kanu beyond the required period they have infracted on the Immigration Act, the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 and subsisting court orders. With regard to issues of “self-determination”, the crux of Nnamdi Kanu’s campaign of the Independent People of Biafra, IPOB, having communicated IPOB’s intent to all and the United Nations as required by UN Covenant on Civil and Political Rights ratified by Nigeria, that people of any community or group may wish to exercise the right of self-determination with a view to pursuing their economic, social and cultural development; aware that their dignity as human persons had deteriorated and been consciously degraded under the present dispensation, sadly appearing power inebriate. Call on President Buhari to resign from office or face impeachment proceedings. Alternatively avoid another Burundi, call him to comply with the Orders of Courts. Surgeons in a Southern Kazakhstan hospital were stunned after they pulled out a massive hairball from the stomach of an 11-year-old girl. She was taken to hospital after suffering from a severe stomach ache and loss of appetite. Even a glass of water proved too much for the girl. The Daily Star of UK reported that it was not until she was taken to the hospitals in the city of Taraz, southern Kazakhstan, that the bizarre discovery was made. Doctors found a huge ball of hair measuring 17cm across the stomach and around 35cm into the girl’s bowel. Her parents said they had spotted their daughter chewing her long hair, but were unaware she was swallowing it. A similar case was reported by another UK news website, dailymail.com in May 2015. A five-year-old girl unable to eat was found to have a large hairball blocking her digestive system. The girl came to a hospital in Adelaide, Australia, suffering from abdominal pain that had become steadily worse over a few weeks and also complained of an increasingly poor appetite. Scans confirmed she had a bulk of hair in her stomach, which made it look as though the organ was solid and full of soft tissue. They also showed a large lesion in her stomach and small bowel. She was diagnosed with Rapunzel syndrome, a rare condition in which a hairball (called a trichobezar) is found in the stomach, with its tail in the colon. Rapunzel syndrome is a condition where ingested hair collects in the patient’s stomach and can cause severe problems. http://plusmouth..com.ng/2015/12/see-what-surgeons-pulled-out-from-11.html

Two teenagers on a road trip with friends in Turkey died after being hit by a truck while attempting to take a selfie on a road. According to Police, the five friends had been drinking and friends of the killed teenagers said they had stopped by the airport's perimeter fence on their way back to look at the planes And then all five of them decided to lay on the road to take a selfie with one of the planes in the background as it came into land But because it was already dark at 9pm, The truck driver didn't see them, and ran over two of the boys identified as Muhammet Bozkurt, 17, and Caglar Savasci, 19. The other three escaped disaster after managing to roll out of the way at the last minute. http://plusmouth..com.ng/2015/12/two-friends-are-hit-by-truck-after.html

The Superbass star headlined Show Unitel Boas Festas, a Christmas festival held on Saturday in Luanda, the capital of the African country.Minaj seemed to love her stay there, as she shared many special moments of her experience in the nation via Instagram. "ANGOLA HAS MY HEART," she wrote in a caption attached to a video of screaming fans occupying the crowd at the concert venuue, After her show Minaj visited with fans, and in another photo she posted on the picture-sharing website, the musician noted she had the privilege of meeting with a particularly powerful person - Isabel dos Santos, who is the first female African billionaire and the daughter of Angolan President José Eduardo dos Santos. she's just the 8th richest woman in the world," Nicki wrote in the caption of an image which featured the star standing alongside Isabel. "(At least that's what I was told by someone b4 we took this photo) Lol. Yikes!!!!! GIRL POWER!!!!! This motivates me soooooooooo much!!!! S/O to any woman on a paper chase. Get your own!!!! Success is yours for the taking!!!!! #Angola thank u to the women who brought me out here as well." Thor Halvorssen, the head of the Human Rights Foundation, penned an open letter to Minaj earlier this week urging her to scrap the gig over continuing allegations President José Eduardo dos Santos often uses his power to exercise government oppression by violating the basic rights of journalists, activists and others who speak out against him. "Beyond censoring through violence, the Angolan regime owns the only national radio station, controls the only daily newspaper, and exerts control over Angola’s television stations," Halvorssen wrote. "Artists such as yourself are not allowed to freely express their opinions in Angola, where criticizing the government is a crime punishable with fines and imprisonment." http://plusmouth..com.ng/2015/12/nicki-minaj-performed-in-angola.html

1. It could lower his risk of prostate cancer. According to a study from Harvard Medical School, men who ejaculated more often reduced their risk of developing prostate cancer by 22 percent. Researchers still don't know why that is, but hey, if you needed one more reason to hit that tonight, having your guy avoid getting cancer is a pretty solid one. 2. Your chance of getting a cold goes way, way down. Researchers at Wilkes University in Pennsylvania found that people who had sex at least twice a week released more antigens like immunoglobulin A, which helps fight off colds and the flu, so just think of how healthy you'd be if you had sex all seven days. You'd be basically immortal is what I'm trying to say. 3. It keeps you looking super young and confident. In a study by Scottish researcher and clinical neuropsychologist David Weeks, judges guessed the ages of 3,500 European and American women and men, and found that the people whose age was underestimated by seven to 12 years were also reporting having sex three times a week, in comparison to the control group which was doing it twice a week. They also found these young-looking babes to be really comfortable and confident about their sexual identity. Win, win, win, win. 4. It'll help get rid of your heinous menstrual cramps. A study done in 2000 found that 9 percent of 1,900 women were masturbating solely to get rid of their menstrual cramps. There's no way that many masturbating women are wrong. 5. It could make you crazy-fertile, if you're trying to conceive. A new study in Fertility and Sterility found that having sex every day could help prepare your immune system for pregnancy, which is critical in terms of increasing your chances of having a baby. 6. It lowers your blood pressure and your ability to stress out over basically nothing. A 2005 study found that people who had penile-vaginal intercourse (their words, not mine) had lower blood pressure and better stress responses than people who didn't (or those who masturbated or had non-penetrative sex), which in theory would mean they were also way more chill. Never a bad thing. 7. Sex can actually make you a super genius. Separate studies by researchers at the University of Maryland and Konkuk University in Seoul, South Korea, found that mice and rats who had sex more often were also less stressed, and since stress makes your brain less able to function, that made them more intelligent thinkers. So in theory, having sex every single day would make you fertile, live longer, never get sick, and have the brain of a genius. Basically, sex makes you a superhero. That's my takeaway from this. http://plusmouth..com.ng/2015/12/7-scientific-reasons-why-you-should.html |

Article as written by Etcetera below: “I walked into the music preview room at the radio station and I saw one of our sound engineers previewing Naeto C’s songs before uploading it into the station’s new digital library for airplay. I immediately walked out of the room because I wasn’t ready to activate my anger mode by putting myself through another experience of listening to another Nigerian rap song with shallow and crappy lines of which Naeto C is the culprit-in-chief, only to walk into the transmitting room and heard the presenter on duty introducing ‘Share my Blessing’ by Naeto C and Asa, as the next song on the play list. I have to admit that this time around, I wasn’t too eager to make a dash for the door. Maybe because I heard Asa was on the song and thought that it would have at least inspired Naeto C to use better and more inspiring rhymes. Hope is a very dangerous thing. It turned out that I hoped for too much. The first line of the song almost pulled off my knee cap. It is the most fatal accident I have had till date. I almost died when I heard “what a conundrum” within the first few lines. What Conundrum? Like seriously? Bros Naeto, the only thing close to a conundrum in the whole song was how you convinced Asa to feature in the song. That song has some of the dumbest lines ever used in the history of rap music worldwide. As I sat there gasping for air, I tried consoling myself that every artist is allowed one mistake in a career lifespan and ‘Share my Blessing’ is a mistake that won’t happen again. But on a second thought, I asked myself, didn’t Asa or her manager Janet, hear Naeto C’s lines before accepting to feature on the song? I would have Usain-Bolted out of that studio, screaming ‘tufiakwa gi’ and snapping my fingers as I rid myself of all the phloem in my system. Asa apparently hasn’t learnt her lessons. Her latest collabo with Korede Bello is another career mistake that shouldn’t have happened. The lightening has struck twice. Korede Bello and Asa have succeeded where others have failed. Koredo Bello and Asa have succeeded in taking every crappy song from the past decade in Nigeria and mashed them into a musical abomination; add that to the level of auto-tune on Korede’s voice; which sounds like T-Pain after he’s slammed his testicles in a car door. Ironically, slamming my own testicles in a car door is something I would rather do than listen to this song again. Sadly, the fiasco with Naeto C now looks like a piece of art compared to this song with Korede Bello. This is a whole new grade of crime against music. Asa, how do you explain this to your fans? I have searched for justification even from a musician’s perspective and found none. The whole song comes out childish and guess Korede knows it too, which explains why he had to sing it to us as the first line that he is no longer a child. Korede has proved conclusively with this song that there are two things a Nigerian youth can’t do: play music and feign humility. Titling your song, “Somebody Great”, and blabbing all through the song about “Somebody wey dey spray millions and somebody wey go save billions” is that what defines greatness? Spraying of millions? What are you doing to yourself Asa? How did you get yourself involved in this song? Why did you do this to your fans? I won’t be surprised to hear that the sound engineer that mixed this song is deaf. That you couldn’t hear that the whole song is drenched in reverb is unbelievable. For God’s sake, the presence in the song is very disturbing to the ears. And what is that thing that sounds like someone striking a pot cover with “ewedu” broom? Please don’t tell me that it is the crash or the hi-hats. Please sir, can you take back your mix and reduce the shakers. Damn it, take back your mix and keep it to yourself. Asa, I swear you no try at all. The only excuse that would probably make some sense to me now is if I am told that you guys were just trying to create something for the current generation but instead of a smooth-rocking guitar classic, you have instead created this audible shit. Yes, this song is literally shit that you can hear. It is the worst song from Asa that I have had the displeasure of listening. Unfortunately though, for some inexplicable reason, some people are actually going to play it and like it and start insulting Etcetera like he is the reason the song is rubbish. Please, the excuse that Asa was not involved in this collaboration with Korede Bello; that Don Jazzy recorded her freestyle and used on the song, is not going to hold any water here. Nobody does that in this age and time knowing the ramification. And until Don Jazzy is called out by Asa’s management, I will assume the freestyle story is just another industry lie and that “Somebody Great” is a well thought out and planned collaboration between Asa and Korede Bello. Until then, trying to water down Asa’s involvement in this song will be a blatant in-your-face insult to her fans as much as tweaking the synthesizer at the beginning of the song to give it a rock guitar feel is a blatant in-your-face insulting to all guitarists out there.” http://plusmouth..com.ng/2015/12/your-collabos-are-getting-dumber-by-day.html

Anita took to her blog yesterday to express her hope, dreams and expectations for life after divorce and to thank God for saving her from her past abused life with Pastor Chris. Here is what she posted on her blog “December is the last month of the year. I start every month thankful and for this month of December I am eternally grateful. I am worthy of love, to give and receive. I have value and self-respect, no one has the ability to oppress, suppress or depress me. I am enough and complete in God. My today is better than yesterday. I have come to a place of wholeness, strength and joy. God pulled me out of mess; I have a happy life free from abuse. No one can take the place of God; he is sovereign and reigns forever. Man is mortal and his days on earth are numbered. When the end comes, it is a glorious thing to return to our maker, to dwell in His holiness and truth. The end of the year brings a rebirth of another year. The death of something can be the rebirth of another thing. All is not lost. Whatever happens in your life, no matter how distressing things might seem. When darkness appears endless, watch out for that tiny spark of light, when you can muster up the courage to thank God for closed doors. In the process of counting your blessings, you find joy” http://plusmouth..com.ng/2015/12/god-help-me-out-from-past-abused-life.html |

The Nigerian Communications Commission handed Africa’s biggest mobile phone company a $5.2 billion penalty in October after MTN failed to cut off users with unregistered SIM cards from its network. Nigeria has cut a fine imposed on MTN Group by more than a third to $3.4 billion and given the South African mobile phone operator until the end of the year to pay it, the company said on Thursday. Nigeria, MTN’s biggest market, has been pushing telecoms firms to verify the identity of subscribers amid worries unregistered SIM cards were being used for criminal activity in a country facing the insurgency of Islamic militant group Boko Haram. The fine prompted MTN to hold talks with the NCC over the past five weeks seeking a reduction. “After further engagements with the Nigerian authorities, the NCC has reduced the imposed fine,” MTN said in statement quoted by Reuters today. The company, which makes about 37 percent of its sales from Nigeria, said it was considering the NCC’s decision. “Executive Chairman Phuthuma Nhleko will immediately and urgently re-engage with the Nigerian authorities before responding formally,” it said. Nhleko, who took charge for up to six months after the abrupt resignation last month of Sifiso Dabengwa, led the company for nine years before stepping down in 2011. The fine came months after Muhammadu Buhari swept to power in Africa’s biggest oil producer, after a campaign in which he promised tougher regulation and a fight against corruption. It also came after the kidnapping on Sept. 21 of Olu Falae, former Nigerian finance minister, by people whom the regulator said had used MTN phone lines to negotiate a ransom. Some analysts have said the size of the fine risked damaging Nigeria’s efforts to shake off its image as a risky frontier market for international investors. Others said the fine showed Africa’s biggest economy was keen to enforce the law. http://plusmouth..com.ng/2015/12/mike-ikpoki-and-akinwale-goodluck.html |
Samson Siasia has warned his team not to allow mistakes that made Mali score two quick goals in their first match of the ongoing U-23 Africa Cup of Nations to repeat themselves when they confront Egypt in their second group game Wednesday night. While Nigeria won 3-2 against Mali in their first group game, Egypt played a 1-1 draw with Tunisia. Both teams clash by 7pm Nigerian time at M’Bour, Senegal. Siasia warned that victory over Egypt is non negotiable if Nigeria want to brighten their chances of playing in the football event of next year’s Rio Olympic Games. “We should not make too many mistakes as we did against Mali in our first match on Sunday. We have a big chance to make our corrections this time, and I must confess, it will be a pretty joke if we want to be at the Olympics not to win this match against Egypt,” said Siasia. Meanwhile, Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has reiterated its determination to leave nothing to chance for Siasia and his team to pick one of the Olympic tickets. Secretary General of the federation, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi said that the NFF will give the Dream Team VI all support to succeed at the Senegal 2015 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations. “We will do all things possible for us to pick one of the three African tickets available in this tournament. It won’t be good for us to play fourth and be saddled with big task of making Olympics through the rigours of FIFA playoffs. We were not at the last Olympic Games, but this time we will be there,” Sanusi said of what the NFF wants from Siasia and his Dream Team. President General of Nigerian Football and other Sports Supporters Club, Dr. Rafiu Ladipo said his members will be on ground in M’Bour, Senegal Wednesday to cheer the Dream Team to victory against Egypt. He disclosed all arrangements have been concluded to see that the supporters club members sing and dance to give the team desired support in the remaining matches of the Nations Cup http://plusmouth..com.ng/2015/12/victory-over-egypt-is-non-negotiable.html |
A prominent son of Ideato South Local Government Area of Imo State, Nixon Okwara, has called on Governor Rochas Okorocha to focus on the mandate given to him by the people to develop the state rather than developing other parts of the country. In a chat with Oriental News, Okwara lamented on the dearth of infrastructure in the state amongst other issues. Excerpts: Well, I see it as a very sad commentary that Owelle Rochas Okorocha would have the heart to be building schools in the northern parts of the country whereas the infrastructure in his own community in particular and Imo State in general are lying desolate and in ruins. If you go to Imo State today, you will discover that infrastructure has collapsed. There are no motorable roads, no bridges and no institutions. Everything has broken down. It is also a fact that workers in the parastatals in the state are being owed nine months salary. Health workers are owed eight months salary while those working in Imo State Specialist hospitals are being owed over one year salary. As far as I am concerned, by trying to remove a speck from the eye of others, while a plank is covering his own eyes, Rochas Okorocha is just making a mockery of the mandate which the people of Imo State gave to him. Let me give you a little picture of what I am talking about, Isiekenesi High School, Ideato South Local Government which was built about 40 years ago and Isiekenesi hospital complex built about 30 years ago have collapsed and since then no other school or hospital has been built in the town. The people of this town, that is, Governor Okorocha’s kinsmen, are now forced to go to Nkwere or Uruala for education and healthcare. If the only road that leads out of the town to Nkwere and Uruala were motorable, that would not have been a major problem but now erosion has cut it into two, which implies that the people of Isiekenesi no longer have access to education and healthcare. As I am talking to you now, our youths of school age are at home idling about because there is no functioning school in the town and they cannot go to other schools outside the town because the only road that links the town to Nkwere, Uruala, that is the Isiekenesi/Nkwere/Dikenafai road, has been cut off by erosion. Vehicles no longer ply the road. As it is with school, our people no longer have access to medical facilities because the only hospital in the area that was built over 30 years ago has collapsed. That gives you an idea of the hell that my people are going through. http://plusmouth..com.ng/2015/12/blog-post.html |
Mr Ugly” Pageant contradicts everything we knew to be true about competing against other folks for a sash and some recognition. A 42-year-old unemployed man was crowned Zimbabwe’s Ugliest Man at a pub pageant in Harare but the contest took a dramatic turn when the runner-up accused judges of being biased. Maison Sere, who was missing several teeth and dressed in torn overalls beat five other contestants for the $500 Mr Ugly prize – a large sum in a country facing massive unemployment. “I want to thank God for winning this title, last time I came fourth. I just want to thank the judges for recognizing me as the winner,” Sere told journalists during a night of festivities Friday attended by 200 revellers. But William Masvinu, a three-time “Mr Ugly” champion who landed a disappointing second place $100 prize this year, cried foul. “The judges were not fair, the organizers must look for new judges to start the contest afresh. I did not lose today,” Masvinu said. Show organizer David Machowa said he created the pageant in 2012 to celebrate “beauty in ugliness” and even has plans to brand out internationally. It’s all good William. Everyone is a true winner deep down inside. http://plusmouth..com.ng/2015/11/zimbabwes.html

Ever since Colorado and Washington legalized marijuana, people have realized how much of a big business it actually is. So far Colorado has brought in over $200 million in revenue, and now it’s even a bigger hotbed of tourist activity. Just imagine the other states that are noticing the huge success of weed, best believe they’ll attempt to profit off of it. But what do the faces of those profiting off of weed look like? White and male of course. For the longest time, black men and women have faced hefty jail sentences over petty weed cases, and if you think that’ll stop now that marijuana is legalized in a couple of states, you’re wrong. Just look at the arrests in Colorado as an example. Between 1986 and 2010, more than 210,000 people were arrested for marijuana possession according to a report from the Marijuana Arrest Research Project, and they still remain behind bars. Earlier this year, Michelle Alexander, associate professor of law at Ohio State University and author of The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness held an open forum on March 6 with Asha Bandele of the Drug Policy Alliance. Alexander basically broke it down to the core, as to who will make profits and who will stay behind bars. “In many ways the imagery doesn’t sit right,” said Alexander. “Here are white men poised to run big marijuana businesses, dreaming of cashing in big—big money, big businesses selling weed—after 40 years of impoverished black kids getting prison time for selling weed, and their families and futures destroyed. Now, white men are planning to get rich doing precisely the same thing?” Although Washington, D.C. recently decriminalized small amounts of marijuana, what does the district plan on doing with those people who have already been arrested? Do they get to collect their get out of jail free card and continue on with their lives? Probably not. But sure, let’s make a bunch of white men rich(er) and allow them to sell the exact same product that landed these men and women in jail. During the March 6 conversation, Alexander went on to further point out the fact that black men and boys have been public enemy number one, when it comes to the war on drugs. “Black men and boys” have been the target of the war on drugs’ racist policies—stopped, frisked and disturbed—“often before they’re old enough to vote,” she said. “We arrest these kids at young ages, saddle them with criminal records, throw them in cages, and then release them into a parallel social universe in which the very civil and human rights supposedly won in the Civil Rights movement no longer apply to them for the rest of their lives,” Alexander said. “They can be discriminated against [when it comes to] employment, housing, access to education, public benefits. They’re locked into a permanent second-class status for life. And we’ve done this in precisely the communities that were most in need of our support.” http://plusmouth..com.ng/2015/11/legal-weed-white-people-get-rich-black.htm The world of legalized weed is only going to line the pockets and benefit those who have benefited off of putting black faces behind bars. Just think, it’s a win win for Colorado, make money from weed, and make money from the prison system.

Read Festus Keyamo’s full statement below: “The reported death, Sunday, November 22nd, 2015, of the APC candidate in the Kogi State Governorship elections, Prince Abubakar Audu, is extremely shocking and sad. I would like to express my condolences to the entire family of Audu and to the people of Kogi State. However, the real question agitating the minds of everybody is the legal implication regarding the inconclusive Governorship elections at the time of his demise. To state it correctly he was said to have died AFTER the announcement of the results by INEC and after INEC had declared the elections inconclusive. Admittedly, this is a strange and novel constitutional scenario. It has never happened in our constitutional history to the extent that when an election has been partially conducted (and not before or after the elections) a candidate dies. What then happens? This is a hybrid situation between what happened in the case of Atiku Abubakar/Boni Haruna in 1999 and the provision of section 33 of the Electoral Act, 2010. In the case of Atiku Abubakar/Boni Haruna [which is now a clear constitutional provision of section 181(1) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended)] the Supreme Court held, in effect, that “if a person duly elected as Governor dies before taking and subscribing the Oath of Allegiance and oath of office, or is unable for any reason whatsoever to be sworn in, the person elected with him as Deputy governor shall be sworn in as Governor and he shall nominate a new Deputy-Governor who shall be appointed by the Governor with the approval of a simple majority of the house of Assembly of the State”. In the case of section 33 of the Electoral Act 2010 it provides, in effect, that if a person has been duly nominated as a candidate of his party and he dies before the election then the political party has the right to replace him with another candidate and not necessarily the Deputy Governorship candidate. Now, does the Kogi situation fit into section 181(1) of the Constitution as quoted above or section 33 of the Electoral Act mentioned above? My simple position is that the Kogi situation fits more into section 181(1) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and as such James Abiodun Faleke automatically becomes the governorship candidate of the APC. This is because even though the election in inconclusive, votes have been counted and allocated to Parties and candidates. As a result the joint ticket of Audu/Faleke has acquired some votes already. James Abiodun Faleke is as much entitled to those votes already counted as much as the late Abubakar Audu. He has a right to cling to those votes going into the supplementary election. There is only one problem, though. Who nominates Faleke’s Deputy? Unlike section 181(1) of the 1999 Constitution, he cannot approach the House of Assembly of the State to approve a nomination by him of a Deputy. This is because, in reality, he is not duly elected yet. Therefore it is only reasonable to conclude that it is APC (Faleke’s political party) that should submit the name of a fresh Deputy Governorship candidate to INEC for the supplementary election. This is the only position in this situation that accords with reason and good sense,” Keyamo stated. http://plusmouth..com.ng/2015/11/the-legal-implications-of-abubakar.html |
Alariwo of Africa was diagnosed with a disease known as Varicocele, According to source disclose that alariwo“People have been speculating about my health lately. Some reports even said I was bedridden. This is not true. I was not bedridden and I have never been. But it is true that I am about to undergo surgery. I am still trying to find the right place to have it done. I have to choose either India, Germany, Israel, England or America. I have been taking some drugs to slow down the pain in my scrotum until I am ready to undergo surgery. All I just need is enough funds to travel abroad and treat it. I have been going through a lot, these past weeks. My wife has been in the hospital for over one month. She has been down with acute pulmonary embolism. It has been very tough, but God has taken control. The doctors at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital said only a few people could survive the ailment. I am happy that she is one of them. But her treatment has cost me quite a lot of money. I spent an average of N54,000 everyday for about 19 days. Apart from this, I was buying a drug called Clexin at N37,000 for her every week. She received a total of about 96 injections altogether on her shoulder during the period that she was undergoing treatment. And all that while, I didn’t leave her bedside. I was with her in the hospital.” Before his wife’s case came up, the singer added, he had planned to raise funds and travel abroad for his own treatment. But, faced with a bigger challenge, he had to sell his car in order to pay her medical bills. He went on: “Before now, I didn’t want to talk about my health or my wife’s illness or the challenges I have faced these past weeks. I had decided not to make my problems known to the public for some reasons. I guess the details were leaked through one or two friends of mine that I whispered to and they were blown out of proportion online. I never made a public appeal for funds nor called a press conference for that purpose. But it is when you find yourself in a situation like this that you know those that are your true friends. A lot of people were kind enough to provide support during the crisis. I am talking about people like Ayo Animashaun, Otunba Sesan Rufai and many others.” The singer was full of praises for popular stand-up comedian, Julius Agwu, who phoned a few days ago to surprise him with a donation of $35,000. He said: “Julius is the only entertainer that has volunteered to donate the sum of $35,000 to my cause. I was shocked when he called to say he would give me the money. Now what I should be looking for is the balance. I want to thank him for this wonderful gesture.” Other friends and colleagues of the Crossover king, such as Agatha Amata and Dayo Adeneye, have also expressed their desire to support his quest for additional funding. Alariwo still needs to raise some funds for his planned medical trip abroad. He needs about $130,000 for his own treatment and for what is left of his wife’s bills. Meanwhile, his wife is said to be getting better and responding to treatment. http://plusmouth..com.ng/2015/11/alariwo-of-africa-speak-about-issue-of.html |
