That you believe in a united Nigeria dose not give you the impetus to force people into believing in this contraption and force marriage .

Many Nations might have survive harmoniously like you rightly said but ours is not working for us and the way out is the best option.

If other tribe want to break away because the igbos clamor for succession , its simply means they don't know what they want or they are just there because the igbos are still there.
God bless you, say no more.

A Kano magistrates’ court on Thursday discharged all the five suspects who allegedly killed Bridget Agbahime, a trader based in Kano.

The suspects, Dauda Ahmed, Abdulmumeen Mustafa, Zubairu Abubakar, Abdullahi Abubakar and Musa Abdullahi were slammed with a four-count charge of allegedly inciting disturbance, culpable homicide, joint act and mischief.

Agbahime, 74, an Imo indigene, was murdered in Kofar Wambai Market in Kano over alleged blasphemy.

The tragic incident occurred on June 2.
Muhammad Jibril, chief magistrate, discharged the five suspects and terminated the case in line with the directive of the attorney-general of Kano state.

Earlier, Rabiu Yusuf, principal state counsel, representing the attorney-general of Kano state, told the court that “we received the case diary from the police on June 8.”

“Having gone through the case diary, the attorney- general of Kano state evaluated the facts in accordance with sections 130 and 150 of the criminal procedure code.”

“The legal advice presented to the court, dated June 24, states that there is no case to answer as the suspects are all innocent and orders the court to discharge all the suspects.”

Abdulsalam Gambo, counsel to the suspects, commended the attorney-general for the judgement in the case.

The suspects and their families expressed gratitude to “Allah for the judgement and for their freedom”.

"The Igbo philosophy seems to be “money maketh a man” and the Igbo man is prepared to sink to any level or scale the
highest mountain to get money…No job is too menial for the Igbo man
...I think there are two main reasons why “the Igbo are everywhere.”
First, as I have stated, the Igbos will go to any length in search of money and since they are more willing than any other
tribe to do any type of work, no matter how menial, they are ready and cheap source of labour everywhere.
Another reason for their migration… is terribly overpopulated by its 12 million or so inhabitants, so that the Igbo is
constantly on the move in serch of a place to stand in.
While I admire the Igbos for their energy and industry, their insatiable desire for money makes me sick.
…I have stated elsewhere in this narrative that the Igbo does not believe that any kindness can be gratuitous and would
doubt your sincerity if you were prepared to do any favour for him without demanding or accepting a consideration.
As a matter of fact the Igbo man makes the offer before he begins to ask for the help he seeks. This remarks should,
however, not be taken to mean that there are no honest people among them.
There certainly are, but by and large, the average Igbo man seeks gain from whatever he does.
…One common charge against the Igbo is that if you give them an inch they will demand (and quite often take) a mile.
An Igbo man in search of residential accommodation is prepared to pay rent for even your kitchen store. Within a week of
his moving in, about half a dozen “brothers” come to “visit” him; within a fortnight more of them arrive. He then pleads
with you to allow them temporary accommodation in the house but soon they have become permanent and taken every
available space in your house.
There would be nothing wrong with this if they remained as tenant. But the sad part of it is that before the owner knows
what is happening these tenants are dangling money before his eyes for the purchase of the house itself or the adjoining
land. The money comes to hand quite easily either through concerted efforts or some wealthy “brothers” or the tribal union,
and overnight the owner of the house becomes a tenant on his own land.
In like manner, they have surreptitiously ousted “nationals” of the other regions from their market stalls, from their
shops, from the rubber plantations and other forms of human endeavour. One may say, it is the stupidity of the other
people.
Is it any wonder then that some other regions in the federation entertain fear of possible Igbo domination?
IT IS TO BE HOPED THAT THEY DO NOT BECOME LIKE THE JEWS , objects of castigation and contempt for their industry
and adventurous spirit".

Oba Akenzua, 1965.

Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, has read the riot act to Igbo
leaders and monarchs in Lagos State, warning that he will
make life unbearable for them if they sabotage efforts
being made to ensure that the governorship candidate of
All Progressives Congress (APC) Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode,
emerges as the next governor of the state.
The monarch, who summoned all the Eze-Ndigbo in the
state to his palace, said the support of their kensmen for
the opposition party in the state could frustrate current ef
forts being made in all quarters to ensure that Lagos was
no longer in opposition with the Federal Government.
He said: “On Saturday, if anyone of you goes against
Ambode, who I picked, that is your end. If it does not
happen within seven days, just know that I am a bastard
and it is not my father who gave birth to me.
“By the grace of God, I am the owner of Lagos for the time
being. This is an undivided chair. The palace belongs to
the dead and those coming in the future. On Saturday, if
anyone of you, I swear in the name of God, goes against
my wish that Ambode will be the next governor of Lagos
State, the person is going to die inside this water.
“For the Igbo and others in Lagos, they should go where
the Oba of Lagos heads to. When they were coming to the
state, they did not come with all their houses. But now,
they have properties in the state. So they must do my
bidding. And that is the bidding of the ancestors of Lagos
and God.
“I am not ready to beg you. Nobody knew how I picked
Ambode. Jimi is my blood relation and I told him that he
could never be governor in Lagos for now. The future
belongs to God. I am not begging anybody, but what you
people cannot do in Onitsha, Aba or anywhere you cannot
do it here.”

The Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), the youth wing of
Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex socio-cultural organisation of
Ndigbo, has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to the Oba of Lagos,
Alhaji Rilwan Akiolu, to “retract and unconditionally apologise
to Ndigbo” over his alleged death threat to Ndigbo living in
Lagos should they fail to vote for the All Progressives
Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Akinwumi Ambode,
on April 11.
Apart from positing that democracy confers on the electorate,
the freedom of choice, OYC said it considered the comments
credited to Akiolu as “a despicable insult on the Igbo nation,
home and abroad, least expected of a royal father in the rank
of Oba of Lagos.”
The group called on security agencies to invite the Oba for
questioning because of the grave dangers his current posture
portends while lambasted the monarch for employing crude
arm-twisting, obtaining by tricks tactics.
The monarch had reportedly threatened to make life
unbearable for the Igbos in Lagos if they sabotage efforts
being made to ensure that Ambode emerges as the next
governor of the state.
Akiolu was said to have summoned all the Eze-Ndigbo in
Lagos State to his palace yesterday and told them: “On
Saturday, if anyone of you goes against Ambode, who I
picked, that is your end. If it does not happen within seven
days, just know that I am a bastard and it is not my father
who gave birth to me.
“By the grace of God, I am the owner of Lagos for the time
being. On Saturday, if anyone of you, I swear in the name of
God, goes against my wish that Ambode will be the next
governor of Lagos State, the person is going to die inside this
water.
“For the Igbo and others in Lagos, they should go where the
Oba of Lagos heads to. When they were coming to the state,
they did not come with all their houses. But now, they have
properties in the state. So they must do my bidding. And that
is the bidding of the ancestors of Lagos and God. “I am not ready to beg you. Nobody knew how I picked
Ambode. Jimi is my blood relation and I told him that he
could never be governor in Lagos for now. I am not begging
anybody, but what you people cannot do in Onitsha, Aba or
anywhere you cannot do it here.”
Reacting to the monarch’s outburst, OYC, in a statement
issued this afternoon in Umuahia and endorsed by its
National President, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, warned that
“Igbo youths will not take this insult lightly, and unless he
apologises within 48 hours he should know he is courting our
wrath.”
OYC further warned that should anything happen to Ndigbo or
their business interests in Lagos in the event of APC losing
the Lagos governorship race, the Oba should be held
responsible.
“Inasmuch as we do not want to get involved in Lagos
politics, we want to sound a note of warning that no Igbo
should be vilified or persecuted for his or her electoral choice
in Lagos or any part of Nigeria,” the group said.
“Every Nigerian has the constitutional right to reside in any
part of the country and participate in the electoral process
based on one’s convictions, and electoral choice is not a
crime,” it added.
Isiguzoro said “nobody no matter what he thinks he is, has
the right to command Ndigbo anywhere on who to vote for in
a democratic setting.”
He said that the unprintable comments credited to the Oba
had only revealed his innate hatred for Ndigbo.
The Oba, according to him, “should be reminded that the
economy of Lagos will collapse should Ndigbo decide to pull
their investments from the commercial city.”
He said that “Ndigbo have remained the most persecuted ,
hated and marginalised tribe in Nigeria , yet the most
enterprising and highest contributors to the growth of its
economy, peace and unity.”
OYC asserted that the Igbo race needs commendation and not
hatred for their ingenuity, versatility and presence in every
part of the country, adding that God has destined Ndigbo to
prosper in any part of the world, even in hostile environments.
The group, therefore, encouraged Ndigbo in Lagos and
elsewhere to vote according to their conscience in the
forthcoming polls without fear of intimidation.

Meanwhile, looking at various comments and opinions on this thread, it therefore behooves on me to unviel the d TRUTH, for that is my mission. The bitterness and hatred as we see it today in nigeria was planted by yoruba political leader and it germinated in the heart of their masses. they felt bitter against gej because he appointed igbos in all d key positions, they hated him because he said that the igbos are d backbone of his gov. they also hated d igbos because they felt that it is because d igbos that they were not considered. believe me had been it was d hausas that occupied those positions, yorubas would've not been offended. but seeing occupying some positions they've not occupy since after d war was no no for them. d fear of d rise of igbos in nigeria polititic. d only to deal with d situation was to go back to the collabo favuor them during and after d civil war with with an agent believed was mean enough.

BusinessMTN Is Killing Nigeria by SAHACO(op):
MTN is killing Nigeria's small and medium business.

Following the new policy introduce by the new MTN partner which left the worker under the umbrella of MTN (contract staff). The staff were left with the options of their salary been reduce and relocation to another base (state) or been let go by their new employer. Thier by cause retrenchment of workers with the economy in recession.

With the new plan that allows customer ( subscriber) to recharger through their account, is an attempt to cut off the middleman (the buck sellers and retailer of recharge cards).
Thereby killing our small and medium scale business, with the huge promo MTN is putting in those recharge it is likely MTN will succeed in making it subscriber's prefer recharge system.
Other network will follow and this spell doom for the ordinary girl on the streets of Nigeria, using rechargecard sells as a means of support and also the medium scale business (the buck sellers).

OPCNAIRALAND:
This piece was written by Okanga Agila.

This is bad journalism. Okanga wrote from emotions of vengeance, payback, rather than the logic and reasoning of root cause.

Easterners love what they are witnessing between Buhari and West, so much they are almost kissing the feet of Buhari for it.

It is understandable that while Yoruba media cover news from around the nation, Ibo media neglect to cover North or even East and focus reporting on Yoruba alone, the reason is because all their media houses of repute are located in Yorubaland. Yoruba is a cheap shot!

If Okanga had employed reason he would realize that Dr Junaid Mohammed, Emir Sanusi, two of most outspoken Northerners have been firing salvos at Buhari lately.

Buhari contested election three times and failed, with injection from Tinubu and SW he won the fourth attempt. Here, Tinubu and SW have done their part, it is now Buhari's job to lead and keep alliances strong. If he neglects Yoruba, Tinubu, in preference of North, how is that Tinubu or Yoruba problem? Buhari is President, not Tinubu.

If the bond of alliances are not respected its because Buhari reneged on agreements and he should carry the blame.

On the issue of choosing alliance with North in 2015, who else was out there for Yoruba to choose? Jonathan is worse than Buhari in all aspects. So who else was available? Yorubas do not regret their choice we did what was right for our interest. If Buhari does not respect our agreements we will withdraw from the alliance....thats exactly whats being witnessed now. So there's no buyer's remorse, no regrets, we need a forward march for 2019, our Governors and leaders know this and the march will start soon, too early to begin rallies. cheesy
Didn't want to comment on BAT and PMB issue but since you mention Igbo, they guy speaks the bitter truth so live with it. The yorubas got juice appointment so it is nothing else other than BAT greed. Modath i'm lying.
