einsteino: thought i was the only one who noticed that word has a meaning totally different from the context it was used in. spinsterhood is a derogatory word, it means a woman who is unmarried beyond the usual age of marriage... it is not in any way an antonym for the word bachelor, rather the right antonym should be bachelorette but this is only in North american english.Gbam. They knew what they were doing...lol |

Simply packing up and leaving and or/reporting seems, on the surface, like the obvious choice, but consider the fact that often, victims are threatened by their abusers when attempting to do so, so it really isn't that easy and 'all you have to do'. There is a big difference between cases of those whose lives as well as friends and family are genuinely in danger and being threatened and cases of those who put up with it because they 'love' their abuser and believe they can and will change (these are the types of women I assume she's referring to and if so, I can appreciate some of the points she made). Ionno, this topic isn't just black and white, it can be more complicated than it seems. |
