This guy is just on point Benyamin Alt
Manchester United 1st congrats to swansea on a well deserved win, they executed their game plan perfectly and exploited the defense brilliantly, specially through blind's channel
I- Positives: 1- shaw and darmian have been consistently good this season and will only improve from here on 2- mata is the only player who merits a regular starting place in the attack 3- herrera proved time and again that he should be a starter
4- schneiderlin will prove to be a very good transfer as he grows into his role II- Negatives, and man there are a lot of these: 1- romero: although he's been solid so far this season, he was rarely tested, and today he proved that he's not the answer, he's not confident enough, specially with the ball at his feet, his distribution is below par, and he lacks concentration at key times, he will improve for sure, but he's not the number 1 united can rely on 2- defense: smalling is very good and had to work twice as hard today to cover for blind, who for all his qualities, is not a central defender and his weaknesses in the position were ruthlessly exploited today, so van gaal needs to buy a defender to partner smalling or man utd will have nightmares against even better opposition this season
3- midfield: shweini needs more time to build up his fitness and get used to the pace of the EPL, and shouldn't be a starter at this point as carrick is a more viable option now 4- attack: aside from mata, the forward line is severely lacking in form and specially creativity, depay needs more time and experience as he's still making many wrong decisions and taking too much time on the ball, and rooney is very slow this season, whether in his movement, 1st touch, or even speed of thought 5- fellaini: he can be an efficient weapon in certain circumstances, but he lacks the intelligence and technical ability to be the solution for united up front
6- van gaal: his substitutions were terrible, removing schneiderlin and keeping shweini, or removing mata who was the only player who looked to make thinks happen, and even if rooney is the captain, he shouldn't play 90 minutes every game regardless of his form. and for all his talk of following a philosophy, united's play look random and with no real direction
III- What to do before the close of the transfer window, van gaal should let go of his stubbornness and: 1- either keep de gea and return him as no 1, or sell him and buy a replacement in lloris who would be perfect as I don't think cillessen is the answer
2- buy a defender to partner smalling, garay or laporte would be the best
3- buy a right winger with a goal threat and move mata as number 10, griezmann or reus would be brilliant if unlikely to come, even lucas moura would be great but also difficult to get at this point 4- buy a pacey technical striker to ease the burden on rooney and rotate/substitute with him in certain situations |

I'm in some ways happy that we lost this game to swansea......allowing our d.umb-headed coach to know that our team is far from perfect.......imagine if we had won that match lvg would have officially closed the transfer market........ coogar: there's no width in city's left side too.....silva or whoever that plays there cuts in as well. football has evolved, the full backs should provide the width when we are attacking. the reason we don't create enough is because the lead striker does not stretch the defence. the lead striker should be running towards the opponent's goal while managing to keep onside. by this, the defenders would follow his run and this would create space at the edge of the box for the floating 3 behind rooney to operate. when mata or depay has the ball, rooney runs towards them cos he gets too attracted to the ball.....that is what is stifling our attack.
immediately chicharito entered the pitch on saturday, the thrust of the attack changed wholesomely cos he's the type to stretch defenders. rooney is too fat and too slow to stretch or threaten any defender. wilson would offer us more bite than rooney can do these days cos he lacks the pace. even strikers without pace can become a target man.......by receiving passes with their back to the goal, holding the ball till the support arrives and playing a pass into the box. rooney cannot do any of these things. he's the poorest player in the BPL when it comes to short intricate passes, his first touch is zero and he cannot control any ball thrown at him.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by saintwill(m): 7:10pm On Aug 26, 2015 |
coogar: your brains are lagging behind, bro. rooney should shoulder all the responsibility in that attack. he's the arrow-head. it seems you people don't know the function of a centre-forward. everything in that area of the pitch should naturally go through rooney. you have a striker who cannot make the ball stick to his feet, a striker who cannot hold the ball long enough to allow runners breeze past him and he cannot tread an intelligent pass in the form of a through ball to feed his runners.
on top of that, rooney is now too slow to receive the ball either aerially or on the ground. rooney has no pace again to get behind the opponent's defence line or play the last man. he has lost all these attributes so how exactly do you expect us to score? rooney is part of the spine of the team in that position and when the head is infected with a virus, it would affect the other parts of the pitch. man utd are fine until they get to the final third and the attack breaks down whenever rooney gets the ball.
defenders find it very easy to play against rooney cos he offers zero threats to them. It seems your pessimism over rooney is over-clouding your judgement, don't want to peel this old wound but i thought you guys should see this situation from a second eye..........because i can't seem to reason the magic you want rooney to perform...maybe taking the ball from the midfield and dribbling both the CDM's and CB's to score.....HABA.....our attackers are not helping him at all and LVG is just adding more salt to the wound by playing players out of position.......Depay is still measuring up and you can notice it in his plays, he's trying to prove himself same thing with other players they are scared to lose passes and give passes.....our style of play is not working out......imagine, we're playing with two CDM's, there's no width on the right side because mata is always cutting in, our no 10 is most times clueless forgetting he needs to link up with our striker, depay always want to dribble his way trough and still get goals for himself........okay coogar now suggest ways any striker will progress with this present type of style...... |

coogar: your analysis would have made plenty of sense but rooney hasn't found the net as a striker in the last 10 competitive games. reframe your analysis to capture the last 10 competitive games that aguero, giroud, costa and harry kane have played for their respective clubs and tell us what you find from it. that should be a very simple task for you. My post wasn't for you to grade.......i tried to bring out a point there but it seems you are lacking behind......you guys are laying our below par attacking problems only on rooney.....Even you coogar if you play barca's no9 u are assured of 10+ goals a season but with the way we play even cr7 as a no9 will struggle..... our attackers are not creating chances for the striker.....We are generally poor in attacking.......i'm not justifying rooney but i think it was this kind of football that added to the diminishing two ( if i must say "good" CF last season..... Hope my points are clear |

PREMIER LEAGUE STATS
MAN CITY GOAL SCORERS
V. Kompany 2 S. Nasri 1 D. Silva 1 S. Agüero 1 Y. Touré 1 A. Kolarov 1 Fernandinho 1
CHELSEA GOAL SCORERS
Diego Costa 1 C. Azpilicueta 1 Pedro 1 Oscar 1
MAN UTD GOAL SCORERS
A. Januzaj 1
ARSENAL GOAL SCORERS
O. Giroud 1
I can't still figure out why we blame our poor goal scoring form only on rooney..... i posted this stats to show you guys that although the CF's are responsible for the goals, but it all depends on the team work.....Kompany is city's highest goal scorer......elampiro defended rooney and i think he did that because he saw what other united faithfuls didn't see and that is the set up of LVG infamous philosophy........to retain possession in midfield and not lose the ball ( hence passing sidways)....rooney can't track back to collect the ball and at the same be in box to receive the ball........costa has only scored 1 of chelsea's goals this season, the midfielders has had their share of goals too same thing with the city side......I'm of the opinion rooney is rusty but i still feel its LVG philosophies thats affecting the team now! |
