This guide will explain an easy method of installing Mediatek /
MTK drivers for your phone on a PC.
Requirements
* PC
* USB cord
* A Working phone who's drivers you wish to install
* Download PdaNet
Procedure
* Enable USB Debugging on the working MTK phone (Settings >
Developer options > Tick USB debugging)
* Connect the working phone to PC with USB debugging enabled
* Install PdaNet on the PC
* When prompted to select phone type, choose "Other"
* At the end of PdaNet installation, you should get a "Drivers
successfully installed" message.
* Exit PdaNet in system tray (bottom right corner of PC)

Download the latest version of MTKDroidTools.exe from the Internet

Manual Driver and Clockworkmod installation ; Backup and
restore
This method assumes you neither have access to a working
phone of the same model nor have clockworkmod installed on
the bricked phone but have downloaded / have access to the
clockworkmod backup of the same model
1. Download PdaNet
2. Download MTK Droid tools
3. Get the the boot.img for your phone type from someone who
has the same phone as your bricked one
or download boot.img for your Tecno phone.
4. Still with the phone connected, extract and launch MTK Droid
tools (green logo)
5. MTK Droid tools should display your phone's details and the box
at the bottom should be yellow
6. If it doesn't, ensure the drivers were correctly installed then
boot the phone into factory mode (volume decrease + power
button)
7. MTK should now detect and display the phone's details
8. Click ROOT at the bottom, select Yes / Grant to any prompt
on phone or PC and wait till the box turns green
9. When the box turns green, click on the root, backup, recovery
tab
10. Click to choose boot.img file
11. Click Recovery and Boot then navigate to the boot.img from
3 and select it
12. Click yes to every prompt
13. When asked, click yes to boot into recovery mode
14. You should now have Clockworkmod recovery installed on the
bricked Tecno phone from which you can do a restore, wipe cahe
partiton, wipe davlink cache, reset to factory state or flash a
new stock or custom ROM

Yes, it's an MTK device so it should work on it.

I know this procedure but the problem is that it doesn't work on kit Kat device like f6. have tried it severally and it keep saying not available for user build.I left a space after AT it says command msent but when I check my imei with *#06# it still remains the same

The procedure works for Kitkat devices including Tecno F6, check the steps again and note that *#06# sometimes shows only sim1 imei. Use the 15 digit imei number on phone 1 and reboot after changing it.

This tutorial explains how to change your
MTK android IMEI to a Blackberry (Or, any
device IMEI) using MTK Engineering MOD(does not require root access)
downloadable from the Google PlayStore.
1- Download MTK Engineering Mod from
the PlayStore.
2- Open/Lunch the MTK Engineering Mode
on your phone.
3- Click/Select MTK Settings.
4- Navigate left to Connectivity .
5- On the connectivity panel, select CDS
Information.
6- On the CDS section, select Radio
Information.
7- Now, select either the SIM1 or SIM2,
depending on whichever SIM you wish to
change its IMEI.
8- On this page, click on the AT+ and type E. About four
(4) options should be presented to you, just
choose either of this options below:
AT+ EGMR=1,10,”” - for SIM 2
AT+ EGMR=1,7,”” - for SIM 1
Don’t forget to put the IMEI you wish to
change to in-between this signs “” above then put cursor between AT and +, tap the space bar
9- Now, tap/click the Send AT Command
option.
10-Reboot your phone

how can I root this phone?

1. Download Kingroot
2. Install the app on the phone
3. Ensure you have an internet connection on the phone then launch the app
4. Wait for all checks to be complete
5. Click the center button (with Root and some Chinese texts inscribed on it) to begin rooting
6. Wait for rooting to complete
7. You should see a green tick to confirm that rooting was successful

Only the cwm backup. And also it is not a flashable zip you should unzip and place that folder on sdcard/clockwockmod/backup then boot into cwm then go to backup and restore then restore.

Cwm backup of tecno f6 with T12 update it also support ota updates if you flash this stock recovery.(you can try to apply the update again via "apply apdate.zip" just to make sure)(if you have the update.zip)

I got my Friend's rom i will upload it soon. He already updated it, i flashed it on my phone and tried to update it again through sdcard/update.zip and it worked. Tell me how should do the backup i will upload a cwm backup too.

Pls can you upload the updated rom you got from your friend and how to flash it using cwm. I learnt the update resolve the heating issue on TF6 and I'll love to have that. Thanks

Download ifont from playstore and choose your desired font. Follow the prompt, when the phone reboot the new font is applied

extract recovery.img on the root of sdcard then open flash tools and click on recovery, then from storage, then choose
recovery.img then click ok.

I've flash back the non touch cmwr as the carliv recovery still gives the error. However, i really appreciate your support and assistance in solving the problem. More power to your elbow.

I've done that. Once i boot into recovery the E: can't open tmp/recovery.log pop up. When i click the backup it starts and abort when about to begin system backup. The clockworkmod backup that shows in my sdcard contains only boot.img and recovery.img and nothing else.
What can be the problem

Install the terminal emulator from the play store and run the mount command.

su
mount -o remount rw /system
exit

Press enter after each Command. And reboot into recovery.

I've done the above but the error still coming on carliv touch recovery. The snapshot of command attached.
NB: i have Busybox installed on my phone, probably relevant

I succeded in installing the carliv touch recovery but i can't do any backup with it. It gives error E: Can't open tmp/recovery.log, I've formatted the sdcard still getting the error. Pls help

Yes, i installed the OTA update with Carliv touch Recovery

Steps to install OTA via CTR(Carliv Touch Recovery)

1) Install Carliv Touch Recovery
2) Root the Phone
3) Boot into Recovery by pressing Volume Down + On
4) Disable Signature Verification and enable script asserts
5) The update would be in /sdcard1/system_updates/update.zip
6) Use Aroma Manager to move the update.zip to your /sdcard1/ root folder
7) Click "Apply update.zip"
Update Installs
9) Reboot
10) Thank coolsix
11) Bye

How do you access the AROMA MANAGER as i can't see the aroma manager
Alternatively can the update.zip be moved to sdcard root with phone file Explorer before booting into recovery mode and just apply update.zip without using Aroma File manager

You can still install OTA update with Carliv Touch Recovery that is what I use. Not CWM

Are you saying the OTA update will be installed if the cwm is carliv touch recovery?

I also received it. It is advisable not to do OTA update with custom recovery install. You may encounter errors. It may not necessarily brick your phone. If you inquisitive, you may want to try it to see if the custom recovery will work with the new update.

You have the following options though:

1. Flash stock recovery before updating
2. Wait for a Dev to create a flashable update that use custom Recovery (often a day or two after a new release)
Note: if you have tampered with your system files, you may need to flash stock ROM to update.
You may lose access to root after update.

I saw a notification on my phone this morning that "system update is available". Can i go ahead with the system update despite having a cwm recovery installed. Won't it there be system crash if i do the OTA update despite not having stock recovery. Pls i need expert advice!

Pls someone should help me with NFS most wanted. After installing and extracting the data file to sd/Android /data when I lunch it shows UPDATE CHECK and then crashes saying "unfortunately nfs most wanted has stopped" Pls how can I solve this
